They make everything fresh to order, handmade sauces, also very cool comics on the wall... THAT'S REALLY COOL...clean place with great customer service....!!!

This place is top notch food for late weekend nights. The price point is in the lower spending range and you get more food than you pay for. Two buns and an empanada served me well, while my friend got two buns and some fries. The buns are soft and airy, the meat in them is flavored to perfection and juicy, even though the empanada might have been a bit greasy from all the cheese in it I'm not complaining. My friend also commented on the ratio of fries that you get for $2 which was more than he or I expected, especially for hand cut fries made in house. We will definitely be back for some late night buns again soon!

The Pork Bun is bomb-dot-com! The fresh cilantro is killer on this little bun. I love how clean and chill this spot is. The parking situation can be a deterrent but it's so easy to park in the lot behind the pump and walk over.

Eviden Marie

Ooh I just I love this place ! Tried it last night and ordered a couple of stuff because I wanted to try something new and I'm so glad I did. Very unique chill little spot and worth your money.

Perfect experience. The restaurant is small, better suited for a party of two, FYI. The food is great, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is clean and modern. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for something a little different on 23rd.

Very flavorful buns. The duck is one of my favs! I tried it yesterday for the first time and returned the next day, it’s that good! I experienced a problem with my postmates order (which was not ur/ban’s fault) & I ended up having to go up there to pick up my order and the manager took very good care of me for the inconvenience. I highly recommend this place. I might give one of the bowls a try the next time I return. I would also like to try new buns in the future.

Dannzal Bjorklund

Buns are not that bad, but seem overpriced. Service is horrendous, and I have been greeted with a hostile "do you need something," as well as many an unmanned register. I would highly reccomend their sister store Chae for upscale, well priced, super delicious modern Korean. And at Chae you can order a side of pork belly a la carte, unlike this store.

TJ Corredine

Ur/Bun is under new ownership, and wow is it welcomed!! The redone inside with the tremendous murals is fantastic! The reimagined menu is absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the corn dogs, the beef empanadas that were outstanding, a fried chicken bun!! All of them were phenomena!! Their classic and zucchini fries are great with a nice ranch sauce!! We met chef Vuong who’s the owner operator, and local culinary legend, and he was super friendly, and welcoming! We can’t wait to go back!! Highly recommend!!

Katy Rush

The food here is great! There is a great variety of buns and the flavors are awesome. We have taken the food to go many times but last week we ate inside for the first time and it was a lackluster experience. There was no other customers being served when we arrived but all of the tables were messy/dirty and the floors were very dirty and riddled with trash.

Love dat place

Pam Parson

The nicest people and the best food !

scott bohn

Small, cozy place and great food! I could have easily stayed for much longer.

John Kenney

The food here is tasty. I had the pork, tonkatsu, and duck buns. Pork and tonkatsu were very good, but the duck didn't have a lot of flavor like the other two. Unfortunately, we had to wait 30 minutes to get our food, which is too long for what you get. If the wait was only 5-10 minutes, then this would easily be 4 stars. However, it is not worth waiting longer than that. This place is worth trying once though.

christopher geis

Incredible

Kate Swearingen

When we went it was not crowded. I had the regular pork belly, Philly cheese steak and the crab. All we're good, but the crab was the best! The fries were not as good, but that's not what you come here for!

Mesa Chansombat

Vuong is doing an amazing job turning this place around. Ordered pork/shrimp boa, veggie empanada, fried chicken slider, zucchini fries, and both taco options. I was really impressed with the zucchini fries. Everything was well seasoned, and tasty. I will definately be coming back to try everything else on the menu.

Jenna Spence

If you’re looking for an easy bite this is the place. However sitting it limited so I would suggest going during off-peek hours to avoid the lunch and dinner crowds. The menu is streamlined and easy to navigate. Make sure you trip everything at least once and leave a note on the chalk board.

Jess Jackson

Always quick amd friendly. I always order the combo woth fries and a drink. I got the tonkatsu! And the pork belly which are my favs!!!!Definately reccommend if you are looking for something different without breaking the bank

Ben Sprouse

BOMB!!! Inexpensive, tasty buns, open late, cool staff, tables outside for 23rd st people watching...highly recommend.

Timothy Livingston

The buns are still awesome, but it was better when it was more purely Japanese. Now they've added hotdogs and tacos and stuff and taken away a lot of the old menu.

Chrisden Woolfolk

Great new food experience in a cool location.

Charles Molleur

Buns? Yup. Tacos?? Yup. Great food. Cool environment. Open late too.

Joshua Doss

A bit pricey, but delicious, and high quality

Julie Dearing

Delicious food and locally owned.

Cathy Choat

Unique, small, good food. If you order from the bun section portions are small but priced accordingly. For hungrier appetites the bowls would be a good choice.

Barbara Ward

Great Customer service and tasty food

Torrie Eddens

Slow but Friendly service

Joey Rose

Really, really good sticky buns! Tofu, chicken and the pork belly are my favorites.

Update on second visit below..... First visit: We’ve been disappointed that Modern Korea closed awhile back but had been told UR/BUN was operated by the same person. That meant we could still get a favorite from Modern Korea. Bibimbap was on the menu, although a smaller, single portion. The bowl of Bibimbap was tasty and good with its crispy slightly browned rice. My choice was a bowl of Duck, which included cracklings. The duck was tasty. The cracklings added an additional flavor and crispy texture. The seating for restaurant is small and limited, but on a Saturday evening wasn’t crowded, and the service friendly and fast! We will definitely be back. We ended our meal with pecan bloodies and some matcha and vanilla bean ice cream. Both ice creams made in house! They were excellent choices to end a good meal. Well, I still miss the atmosphere of Modern Korea, but I love the flavors of UR/BUN. Our second visit to this little spot was very disappointing. Although the place is clean, it is a bit of a turn off to select a table which is perpetually sticky, and apparently is always sticky! FIX it, or replace the table, please! The presentation of our order of Bibimbap was good, the looks are great. There was also a side order of Egg Rolls. While I was waiting for our order, I'd overheard another customer say "This is cold!" Looking good in the bowl and the crispy rice is about all I can be positive about. I"d say I'm not fond of a style of cold bibimbap, with a cold, runny egg on the top. To me, a cold, runny egg is just disgusting! (I realize there is a version of bibimbap which is cold.) The crispy rice was the most exciting thing about the dish. The beef added was made out of some ground or processed meat. The flavor was OK, but the texture made it to be nothing to want more of. The egg rolls were nothing special. The meat, I suspect was possibly a ground chicken smeared inside it as a lump. The three rolls for $5 are a never order again item. I realize this Korean dish can be served cold with raw egg and beef, UR/BUN's version has turned me off to this dish at this location. Anytime I want any Korean flavor in food, I'll definitely find another spot.

Oksana Didyuk

raly Love this place. Had their buns many times and they are amazing. Decided to branch out and tried their bowl. Hated fried rice on the bottom. Not good. Would not recommend or buy it again

Zac Harrison

Really cool concept! Tried a few different buns, and everything was good. Will definitely go back again sometime.

Shannon Delgado

The food was alright. I don't mind spending money on a good meal but the meal was not worth the price. The guy who was working there had a horrible attitude and had his little girl at work. She was running in and out of the kitchen and all the guests felt obligated to baby sit her.

Michelle Mutchler

OMG!!! The buns are AMAZING! And the matcha ice cream is the best I have ever had!

R Rowland

The bibibap is awesome. So glad they added.

Steven Powers

The food is ok but there are so many better choices a stone's throw away. The pork belly isn't quite rendered so it's dry and tough. The duck isn't really crispy. The crab isn't quite fresh. Most of the sauces are sweet or hot with no real flavor. Nothing is really bad but nothing is really good either. Once you get past the food, the place is way too noisy. Every surface reflects and amplifies people's voices into a cacaphony. Almost everyone responds by grabbing it to go.

Food is soso. Pricy for small portion. The resturant is smelly and not comfortable.

Ashley Sopila

Let me start this off by saying I really really loved Chae, UR/BUN's predecessor. I think that may have skewed my expectations walking in to this restaurant, which was small but decorated nicely. It's a counter service place, with buns and bowls that are between $7 and $12 ish dollars if I'm not mistaken. The soft shell crab bun, something I got every time I went to Chae, was just not as life-changing here. It was good, don't get me wrong, and I would still recommend it. It's just not as big and juicy and flavorful as I was hoping. I got the pork bowl, that had pork belly, pictured along with my review. The belly was dry, and that was disappointing, but the flavors were still pretty good. The man behind the counter was incredibly sweet and patient and nice, he had such a genuine smile! I'd say give it a try yourself, but remove Chae completely from your mind before going. RIP.

Adion mallett

Wow & Wow! This spot is golden on multiple levels! Most importantly the food is always spectacular, I've gone a handful of times now. I typically order the Shrimp bun and Slider, and love them everytime. Their fries (truffle and regular) are super smack. Having had a kimchi quesadilla, I assume the kimchi fries are good too(talk about variety! Vegetarian options too, even dessert). Secondly, the priceppoint is amazing! A lot of things are under 5 dollars and still full of flavor and filling. Lastly the atmosphere is really chill! Awesome music, and more awesome paintings chalk full of pop cultural references! Definitely recommend this place to everyone!

Mayiawo Aken'Ova

Great Buns! Kinda pricey but worth it so be prepared.

David Le

Amazing food!

Nick Singer

Delicious and great service with nice parking across the street for lunch.

Michael Ihnat

Under a new chef from Chae recently and the changes are noticeable. Fantastic bowls (bibimap!) and buns (the pork and garden are out of this world!)! Lots of flavor, szechuan sauce is really yummy (and spicy) and the staff (including chef Brady) are super nice and helpful. Great place! TIP: because it's so small you might have to wait but it's worth it

Marlene Bocanegra

First time coming here and I must say the atmosphere alone was enough to pull out my phone. Being it was my first time I haven't explored the menu, but what i did try *choice suggested to me* was to die for! Price was reasonable, and get this they give you the option on how you'd like your receipt which is great if you're trying to reduce paper waste. Just have it textes to your phone. This got me super exited till they served my food wrapped in foil and in a paper bag and unnecessary cups of salsa. It would be nice to have the convince of eating on a dish and saving all the extra trash. Reusable salsa cups would also be nice. The place just started up so hopefully that is something they will consider..

Claudia Disney

Not very impressed.

Esther Loredo

If you are willing to wait this is the most magical quick bite/lunch place/snack that you will ever have. The buns are so good;the chicken one is amazing, and they have tofu which is always good. It's a small place, and a little slow on the food but well worth the price (i think, $4 per bun).

Lee Shuman

Rustin Horner

Good food and service

Blake Burkhart

Great food, but small servings. Also, they were sold out of half the things on the menu.

Tyson Deal

BEWARE! NOT GOOD! I have eaten here for a couple of years now, but haven't been here in several months. I decided to eat there today and learned that the restaurant was under new ownership since March 2018. The recent reviews were good so I figured I would give it a shot. This was a terrible experience!! The food is not good. I read an article someplace that a new chef had come in and updated their menu before going to Tulsa for work. Had he prepared the food, maybe it is good. However, the current cook staff and customer service folks have no business running the restaurant. The cashier had no idea how to run the register property. The server that delivered our sacks to the table came back 3 out of the 4 times to take something he mistakenly given another person in our party so he could pack it into another sack. 3x!!! That's crazy! Then the food was I'll prepared. The worst of it was 3 of us got the jalapeno corn dog that was all raw dough in the middle. Will not eat here again!

Jim Green

Total disappointment. Here's a list of things that led to URBUN getting such a low rating: (1) I was charged too much for my order, (2) the ingredients of the buns were awful; almost as if they were taken out of a freezer and microwaved right before I arrived, (3) the fries were soggy and cold, and (4) they were out of multiple menu items to include, of all things, ICE TEA. Last I checked tea is not a seasonal menu item and when I arrived 10 minutes after placing my order I was informed they "were out". Two words: NEVER AGAIN.

Andy Walters

Great food! The bowls are fantastic value for money and delicious!

Huda Mussa

Ur/Bun is a great little place to grab a bun that packs a whole lot of flavor. The duck is savory and saucy and the buns are soft and delectable. The tonkatsu buns are my favorite. Nothing compares to the fried pork belly bun. This is a definite must go place.

adam schiller

Soft shell crab is awesome, kimchi fries delicious.

The House OKC

The steamed buns are delicious! It's hard to choose, but my favorite is the chicken because the hot-sauce is just right.

Cody Hawkins

Wonderful little spot serving Korean steamed buns. Fantastic concept with very tasty little sandwiches and friendly helpful service. They even serve beer!

Danielle Lidwell

They have great vegetarian options here too!

Bryce Miller

So when I first found out about ur/bun I was a frequent customer at the original Chae, not Chae cafe but /the/ Chae. I loved Chae and I was sad to see it go. But after learning that they brought back some items on the menu from the original Chae. I was overjoyed to hear this and I had to come from all the way from Norman to see. I'm never disappointed here and I love interacting with the staff, especially if they were a cook from Chae. Will come back here soon

Matt Weers

Simply Un-bun-lievable!

Nicholas Toscani

This place is delicious. Great flavors on steamed buns. The tonkatsu bun is my favorite, but the chicken and duck and soft shell crab ones are exceptional as well. The place has a really nice simple and relaxing atmosphere as well. Would definitely recommend this place.

Outstanding food great staff!

Brian Faas

A little pricey but worth it. By now I think I've tried all of their regular menu items and a couple of specials. Everything has been really good. House gochujang goes great with everything.

Theresa Alcorn

Little pricey for the serving size but it's an awesome place to get your savory steamed bun fix. So happy this place exists!

Yujie Wu

Decent service, but I found the food to be lacking.

This is a brightly lit (full front window). Cute, clean, modern. My bf & I are monsters and order one of each, except I didn't get the mushroom one or the special. Pork Belly: My favorite one. If you've had the Chae one, it's that (pretty sure at least but I also have a terrible memory). Crispy outside, soft inside pork belly. That sweet, lightly spicy gochujang sauce (Korean red pepper paste but mixed with to be slightly creamy). Pickled red onion. Scallions. Fried Chicken: A nice chunk of lightly fried chicken, not bready. This one is the spiciest one (tabasco). Can't taste the blue cheese sauce, I didn't even realize it was on it until I looked at the menu again. Pickled onion. Frisee. Duck: My least favorite one. The duck wasn't moist enough. It was okay. If you like a more beef strip one, then I suggest this. I think it would be better if they did slices of galbi (Korean short rib). Mushroom: My bf said it reminded him of ratatouille. I tried a bite. It wasn't like a mushroom pasta sauce like I thought it might be. Like a good touch of vinegar taste? In a good way. Daily Special - Grilled Cheese: My bf thought it was good. It was tangy. I can't remember which cheese it was. And it had sauteed onions. And the bun was grilled. Crab: Coolest looking. The fried crab all stickin out. The sauce was fermented soybean "tartar" sauce but I thought it was straight up Japanese mayo. Pickled daikon radish was great with it. Scallions. I liked this one. Veggie fries: This day it was sweet potato and carrot. I love sweet potato fries and the carrot fries were sooo good, those little carrots slice on half I think. I dipped them in each of the sauces lol Maybe they should have an option to have this in a bun with a choice of sauce. Or tempura veggies with a sauce in a bun for them vegetarians ha Sauce - House Jang: Great creamy lightly spicy, sweet Korean red pepper sauce. Yim. Sauce - Burnt Honey Thyme: Sweet. Reminds me of honey mustard but not thick. Sauce - Szechuan: My favorite one!! Sweet and kind of spicy. Not too spicy at all.

Funny Bunny

Terrible cold food, MOLDY drink machine that looks like it was never detailed, and if you look around, there was RAT DROPPING at the corners of the store. Music doesn’t even fit the theme of the place, not even close enough to call a little restaurant. So to sum it up, MOLDY drink dispenser and RAT DROPPING in the place, what else is there to say? Even though my name is funny bunny, there’s noting funny about a establishment that’s not up to health code, and also most menu items seems to be out, so I’m not really sure what the owner of this place is trying to accomplish. With the same owner from Chae(Korean fusion) is running the place, I wonder if the health code is up to date at that place, only one can wonder if it’s safe to eat at either place..

Denny Vanderburg

So fun and very delicious all at a great price! Get ready to make a new friend at the register! The (owner?) is super friendly and made the experience even better. The food was just so good, even getting a bun with zucchini fries and a taco and a burger and ice cream! Highly recommended!

Geoffrey Lander

For military who have been stationed in Japan or overseas this place has good food till 2am. People remember going out in ten and to the bars but being able to get food late and this is a taste of what was available only overseas till now! Just a place with good memories and fast food when you want it!

kristina johnston

This is supposed be o be fast food???? Ridiculous that I had to wait and hour and 37 minutes for a freaking sandwich!!!

Nathanial Taylor

Quality food at a reasonable price. The buns are larger than I have seen at other establishments. They have some traditional and also creative options(the duck was fantastic). The staff was responsive and eager to make my experience as best as possible. It may be difficult to see if coming from the east on 23rd but it's located adjacent to the Tower Theater venue.

It's important to note that Ur/Bun is under new ownership, with Chef Vuong Nguyen taking over. I always thought Ur/Bun was good before-- quick, cheap, and tasty. Now, it feels like everything is on another level. The buns are still available, but with new inflections. The pork bun now has pickled carrots, daikon with slices of cucumbers. There is a new fried shrimp bun as well. There is the novelty of french fry battered corn dogs, and empanadas. The tacos are surprisingly great, and the sliders provide an americanized take on a the buns on the other side of the menu. I would definitely recommend the zucchini fries as well. One thing worth noting is that the sauces appear to be made in-house. It's hard to point out one specific thing about the changeover. The basic form is still there, but it feels like a food truck outside of your favorite after-work chef hangout. The food is casual and fairly cheap, but with an emphasis on some of the best quality in OKC. If you've been before, it is definitely worth a return trip.

Sandy Wheeler

John Bordy

The pork belly buns were great! I also had the Bi Bim Bop which was pretty good as well. Five stars for the food but I thought cleanliness was a bit lacking. The tables were sticky and stained; the graffiti wall contributed to the messy ambiance. But pork buns were awesome!

Jillian Hord

These buns are DELICIOUS. the duck and tonkatsu are a great place to start if you are unsure. The buns are amazingly soft and yummy.

Andrew Gipson

Fantastic food, prices are reasonable, great customer service. Regular lunch spot for me when I'm wanting some Fast-Casual korean!

Nomore Drama

The best Asian street style buns! Very fresh and flavorful. Savory. I want to open one in New Mexico!

Brian Cates

Amazing. Go there now.

Chelsea Robinson

So disappointing! The food was terrible, inconsistent, and over priced. The crab bun tasted watery, they forgot the sauce on my chicken bun, and my friends order took 20 minutes longer than the rest of ours to come out. They had just opened two days before I went there and the place already felt dirty. I'll try it again after they've established themselves a little and maybe upgraded their cooks or something.

Christopher Thompson

"A man who never eats pork buns is never whole man." Steamed Wei buns, with a variety of options ranging from traditional (pork, tofu) to conceptional (s'mores). Pricing is competitive, taste is fantastic as well. Not sure what high horse some other reviewers on riding on as far as cleanliness, place looked great to me. They should have a look at the soda machine though.

Molly Carmer

The pork belly bun is, like, RULL good.

Jessica M

Amazing food. I've loved everything I've ordered. The zucchini fries are delicious. The shrimp and fried chicken buns are heavenly. I keep wanting to try the empanadas, but they've been sold out both times I've been.

timothy tipton

Good Food w/ simple yet nice ambiance.

Pork and Donkatsu buns were great. I expected 2 pieces of pork as the pictures from reviews, but there was just one :(

Gloria SoLloyd, Ph.D.

Food is tasty The buns were flavorful. This place serves ducks which is different. Decent place to see in midtown.

Brent Pittman

Having lived in California and in Asia, I was expecting more flavor. Good concept, tho food could be better.

amy eckart

Very spicy ask questions. Make sure you know what your ordering. Otherwise, it was good.

Loses its appeal after the initial visits. Some of the buns are interesting to try, but feel overpriced for what they are. Our fries have been consistently cold and stale, so we no longer order them. The last time we were here, most of the menu was sold out so that was a bit awkward... The tables also looked like they hadn't been wiped down in quite some time which is concerning considering how small the location is.

Loved the food! The bread is different but awesome! Get all the sauces too!!!

Abe Haynes

The food here is delicious. I love the clean concept in the dining room .Only thing keeping it from being five stars is having to pay extra for sauce .Even for something that should come with sauce. Like egg rolls.

Marva Dinwiddie

This was our first time at ur/bun good eats. My daughter and I got the chicken, pork belly, rib, tofu, and shrimp buns to share. We loved it! The service was great, both friendly and helpful in choosing what to eat. The place was clean and contemporary. We will definitely will be back!!!

Was turned away at the door after waiting for their opening.

My Husband and I really enjoyed the portion of food it was just enough and the Bibimap (However you say it and spell it) WAS AWESOME!!!!

Jason Head

Least favorite food in OKC. Kind of a novelty if you ask me. Flavor of the food is subpar at best.

Ryan Steadley

Tasty, but small and on the expensive side.

William Smith

Oh my god. This place is amazing. If you haven't been here come in and get the scoop. All the dishes are small, so make sure you order plenty! It's a great place to try awesome local food.

Emily Winkler

More than just pleasantly surprised visiting this local eatery for the first time today! The buns are soft, the protein is beautifully seasoned, the veggies are perfectly prepared with a perfect amount of crunch! What an amazing, yummy experience! Definitely will return in the near future... Maybe too often!

Alex Cecrle

Really good and unique food. Slider sized sandwiches on bao bread. Good for a snack or a full meal. I recommend the pork. It was tender and juicy with a spicy and tangy sauce. Edit: They changed it up a lot and I have to say I dislike it now. The new interior is nicer but the quality of the service and sandwiches seriously took a hit. I'd be totally willing to change my rating back to 5 if some improvements are made, but it just wasn't good unfortunately.

Cassandra Cookson

Very nice, very fast, very interesting.

Erick Allen

Very good and freshly cooked

Travis Nance

The place is small enough I never know it was here until someone mentioned it. At my first visit I learned the following: 1) the bowl was enough for lunch alone 2) the fries are probably best as a side for a bun or two 3) the Szechuan fry dipping sauce is curiously mild. Other than that, the staff was helpful but to the point, the fried pork is excellent with really bold sauces, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the room was comfortably cool even in the heat.

Tamara

I only ordered the chicken bun but it was so tasty! The employees were very nice also.

I was crushed when Chae closed their doors, but now Urbun has replaced Chae in my affections. For one thing, Urbun is owned by the same great people. For another, the price is right. The pork belly bun is simply scrumptious. At $2.75, it doesn't break the bank.

Hyp3soda

This place is amazing. The buns are great and the, staff is nice. You have to try the pork belly and duck. They are soo good.

Alissa Dawson

I had the shrimp, crab, Philly, and the s'mores bun and they were all great!!! The Asian soda was interesting too. Will definitely try the place again.

Rens K

This place serves steamed buns. I tried the chicken buns, they have a good flavor. All the sauces and spices they use work very well together. You can get just the bun by itself or they have combo plates like 1 bun + side of fries, 2 buns + fries or 3. My husband tried the mushroom and pork belly buns. He said he likes the pork better. The mushroom bun had a raw tomato paste smell, may be the sauce they used was not cooked all the way though. This is a good place to just go and eat some steamed buns.

This place is good but it's not quite my taste so take my 3 starts with a grain of salt. The place is clean, staff is friendly, and food is good and fresh. Not much seating so if you are going to dine in be sure to beat the rush

great food, was a little slow but the place was packed, the duck and pork belly were both super super good.

The first time I came in I received duck that was so tough I couldn't chew it and pork belly the exact same way(seemed overcooked or had been sitting around) I brushed it off because y'all were still getting things up and going but now that's it's been a couple months and I just tried again. I got the fried chicken that was more like deep fried gristle and the fried pork that was saved by the sauce but I still couldn't finish it, along with the chicken. I don't want to waste another $12-$15 dollars on mediocre French fries which makes me so sad because I want local businesses to succeed but sending out food like that with those prices won't keep y'all going. Hope it gets better soon.
