I’ve been wanting to try the food here FOREVER but the stars hadn’t aligned. I’d been in and had a cocktail but no food. I love the layout, it’s super cute and laid back. Finally got to try the food with a bunch of friends and it was fantastic! I got the nachos and my friends got the smothered hash browns and they were both great! I especially liked the smothered hash browns (with chili). I got the buffalo Mac and cheese for dinner which was pretty solid. My husband got the chicken fried steak which he really enjoyed, and everyone else liked their food! I only have a couple criticisms: I got an old fashioned and it was SO SWEET. Maybe it’s just the style there but it tasted like it was laden with sugary stuff which just wasn’t very good. Also, I’ll give this place five stars when they stop serving straws without customers either asking for them or at least be given the option. It’s a huge waste and I always, always refuse straws when I’m out at restaurants. I don’t like not being given the choice, at least. Other than that, I definitely love the food and would eat here again.

I did not hear about this restaurant until a month or so after it opened, but have consistently been impressed and satisfied by my visits. The prices can be a little high on some items, but the quality and deliciousness overshadows that fact. They have a variety of options for every dietary preference. Vegan, vegetarian, etc. I really like their brunch items, their Indian taco, and their sides. Service has been inattentive before but usually it is good, friendly, and knowledgeable. Now that I’m writing this, I really need to go eat there this week! Do go, you won’t regret it.

The Press is one of my favorite restaurants in OKC; I've probably visited half a dozen times since we moved here a year ago. I'm vegetarian and my boyfriend is not, so I'm always happy to find places that are accommodating for both of us. My favorite dish is the vegetarian version of their chili mac, but I've also tried the vegetarian biscuits and gravy. The vegetarian biscuits and gravy are made with a mushroom gravy (I'm not huge on mushrooms, but if you like them you'll probably like this) and the potatoes on the side are amazing. I know they offer other vegetarian/vegan options as well that I have yet to try. My boyfriend has told me the fried chicken is good. A good restaurant for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. You may have trouble finding parking during meal times.

This place is really cool they have some really great breakfast. They have a lot of lights hanging over the ceiling and it looks really cool. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and they were very tasty and very filling. I wasn't really sure what pork belly was before I ordered it but I would recommend everyone to order it ,it taste like steak. Really cool building really great atmosphere.

Cute idea, put a restaurant in an old print shop... Only I didn't really see anything from the old shop inside. 30 minute wait on a Friday night which wasn't too bad. Strong cocktails is always a plus and the food was good and served fast. Small space so the customers are packed in and it's very loud and hot. Overall, will come again... Lots of variety on the menu that needs to be tried to get a true feel .

Regrettably, our 20% tip was ran as an unauthorized 200% tip, bringing a $35 ticket to over $100. I'm completely disappointed. My husband and I were ready to come back for a future date night. But now I doubt we will. I was recommending this place to my friends, now I will not. If you set that "little" detail aside....food atmosphere were great. Our dinner was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Until we checked our account later.

Arrived at noon was immediately seated (2 people). Looking through the menu I was questioning our choice. Started with chips and queso added chili. Very pleasantly surprised. It was very good. Large chunks of meat mixed in with beans, avocado, tomatoes. Decided on the burger girlfriend decided to go with the buffalo Mac and cheese. The burger was delicious and the Mac and cheese was superb. I couldn’t eat all of mine and she couldn’t either. The server was diligent, kept our glasses full and made sure everything was what we expected. There is a pay to park lot I’d recommend just use that due to the lack of street parking but it’s less than a block away. Remember your tag number

The Press is easily one of my new favorite places to eat in the plaza District. I'm not someone who usually orders chicken out, because you never know what you're going to get and it is often dry, but that is never the case here, some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. I highly highly recommend the Buffalo mac and cheese. Really some of the best I've ever had. Service is great and it fits in wonderfully in the plaza District. Do yourself a favor and check this place out, a few times, you're going to want to try it all!

Tucked down the side street in The Plaza District, The Press takes a little hunting, but it’s well worth the look! Spectacular Loaded Tots with white gravy! One of the greatest meals I've had in OKC. It's a real gem of a place with pleasant staff. The portion sizes are large and the prices are well in line with the type and amount of food you get. This will be my go-to suggestion for out of town visitors curious about local flavors.

I had the chicken fried ribeye. Green beans were fresh. The ribeye sat on a heap of garlic mashed potatoes. My wife had the buffalo mac and cheese. It was creamy and rich. Our food came quickly and was delicious. The waitress was attentive. At no time did I feel like they were trying to turn the table. We will be back.

The Candy Apple Pork Belly was amazing. This is our second time to visit The Press and we were impressed both times. We can't wait to go back. We got their Loaded Tots for an appetizer. Those were the largest, most flavorful tots we have ever seen or tasted. It could have been a meal in itself.

Decided to go here based on the reviews but it was a huge let down. The setting was nice but that was about it. We ordered the fried chicken and it was not good at all. It was 90% breading and it all came off when I picked it up. The actual chicken quality was not good either, skin was still on it and had a slimy quality about it all. KFC is much better. The Mac n cheese was awful, you could tell it was powdered cheese because it had a gritty quality to it. The green beans were just okay. Would not return. If you go here at least don’t get the fried chicken.

Ordered a Chicken Fried Rib Eye w/ green beans and mashed potatoes ($15) and the Veggie Burger + waffle fries ($10). Pros: 1) Presentation of food was good 2) Staff was friendly and service was very prompt. 3) Not too crowded & not too empty on a Friday night. 4) The green beans were fairly well flavored (but are the very tough to chew variety, just fyi) Cons: 1) Chicken Fried Rib Eye was completely and utterly bland - the breading and gravy was flavorless, there was a vein of fat in it, so the net result was that it tasted like “chewy” meat. I’d have rather have a chicken fried steak at Grandys (which I am not a fan of), and this chicken fried steak was $15. 2) Similarly the veggie patty contributed nothing but texture to the burger (not flavor). My wife says the one word that described the overall burger is “unremarkable”. 3)The mashed potatoes were fairly bland, but on a positive note they did help add to the experience of the chicken fried steak 4) Waffle fries were lukewarm, and I like fries blisteringly hot. My wife said she could taste a subtle flavor like the battering on beer-battered cod on them (like they were fried in the same spot), but to me they were cold and flavorless. This is the first time in the past 10 years I used salt at a restaurant, and boy did I use the salt. Overall, a much more disappointing experience than all the reviews led me to believe.

A few really delicious and unique vegan options. The dumpling soup is huge and the vegan nachos are a great app to share with vegans and non vegans alike. The atmosphere is really fun. May want to make a reservation for a week night. Parking is alright. We usually do street parking behind the restaurant. Can't wait for warmer weather to try out the patio!

The waitstaff are friendly and know the menu. The price is reasonable and portions are good. Had the roast and my husband had the meatloaf. Both bland and lukewarm. The appetizers though we're yummy. Oklahoma caviar, sweet but not too sweet. Mozzarella sticks are huge. Like three average sized cheese sticks in one. I think this is a great place to hang out on the patio, drink a couple of drinks and snack on appetizers.

Good joint to get a great tasting lunch or dinner. Servers are local pros - very nicely done. May 2019 visit with the family. Had the MEATLOAF - was EXCELLENT! $11 strait from the menu, no adjustments and go with the mac and cheese - perfect. Wife had the short rib pot roast and said mine was better but it was good. Had a beer but don't recall the brand. Comfortable, casual place to visit, eat, and people watch. Some TV's to entertain when needed. They have outside seating that looked good. Parking is tough around this place so go early, drive a small car, and start looking for parking. Was worth the effort. For me a definite do-over when in town. Good Job The Press!

We have eaten here several times and also gotten food to go. This was the first time that the food was very disappointing. We got it to take home , which we have done before and everything was still hot and good. Everything was room temperature and seemed to be leftover from lunch. Fries were tough and soft, no longer crisp.Mashed potatoes weren’t warm enough to melt the cheese topping. Chicken tenders were the only thing that was fresh and hot, however put on top of cooled mashed potatoes they were the only thing worth eating.

If you want comfort food, there is no better place in the city! I highly recommend the chili mac. It's a little on the pricey side but the portions are large and the food is worth it. Your service may be lacking if you sit in the bar area, but that's to be expected when the bar tender has all the drinks to make and has to provide service. It's a great place to sit if you just want to lounge around though! Other than that, I highly recommend!

Half hour wait for brunch. Once seated, the service was sub-par at best. The menu was creative, the food was tasty, but the service was far below optimal. In a party of 6, we expected a wait. However we saw a table open up, then another, and another. Once those tables were reset, we still had another 10min wait. No food is that good. If the service would have been on point, the review would have been 4 stars.

A group of us went on a business lunch at the press and none of us liked the food. The cheese sticks were very salty, the Oklahoma caviar was bland, the Fried Chicken had little flavor and was dry. A coworker ordered the Dagwood and said that is was horrible. Another coworker ordered the Chicken Fingers and said that they were dry and flavorless. The Waffle Fries were cold. Was not impressed by any strech of the imagination. The service was fair but did not save them. It was an expensive meal for sub par food at best.

Loved the food here! It's unique and delicious. We went on a Friday night and it was packed in the dining room but we found space at the bar and the bartender was very nice and attentive. Definitely recommend!

We had our rehearsal dinner here and the service was phenomenal, the food was even better! The country fried ribeye is a stellar meal and the cheese sticks were delicious.

This restaurant rocks!! Wonderful food and a cool atmosphere!! Our server was very attentive and gave some great recommendations! Biscuits and gravy and the meatloaf were delicious! Stuffed tots were top notch! But then the was the sweet potato fries with local salted caramel ice cream!

Every Tuesday the Press offers an Oklahoma plate dinner, so we went to try it. Having previously experienced a lot of delicious food in OKC we were very excited to get the best of the best that Oklahoma has to offer at the Press.. well, that definitely was not the case. For $40 you get a tray of food that supposedly feeds 3-4. Nah-a. There was barely enough for 3 adults. Secondly, the infamous Oklahoma platter consists mainly of sides. Very little meat. They serve you some sausage, 1 fried chicken steak and a few tiny slices of bbq chicken. Thankfully, there is enough bread and butter to get full on.... (roll my eyes) And the dessert? A piece of pie. It was okay, but nothing like what you can get just across the street at a local pie bakery.. Overall, the Oklahoma platter was mainly carb city not worth the money and time we spent to experience it and doesn't even closely represent what we've been experiencing as typical Oklahoma food. A few plus points for the restaurant: 1) the service was good 2) their Mac and Cheese is delicious (although that doesn't come with the platter) 3) they have some interesting drinks 4) I did like the decor a lot and they're located in a cute little area worth checking out.

The menu is better than most in the area, you can tell whoever made it has good taste and experience. The atmosphere has a quiet ambiance yet outgoing and upbeat touch. Staff works hard/is courteous and food is out in a timely manner. Taste is great too. Would recommend to almost anyone.

Eggs were WAY over cooked. Onions and peppers were burnt. Wasn't completely dissapointed. The execution was just sub par.

We're so lucky that our friend after riding us around and giving us a tour of all of the wonderful changes that are happening around Oklahoma City took us to The Press. Alan had the Dagwood, I had shrimp and grits, and Jim had the chicken tenders. Wow, wow and wow! I sampled all three plates. Great food, great service, beautiful environment.

Amazing fried chicken. Been here several times chicken fried rib eye and short ribs are my go to but tonight tried fried chicken and it's some of the best I've had. As well the buffalo mac and cheese is always amazing! Well be back again

I had their meatloaf with BBQ sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Others with me had mash potatoe bowl, chicken fried ribeye, and indian taco all great. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. Will return again soon.

Had a very horrible experience with this group while trying to plan my reception. Not sure if it’s because they are new at it, but it’s a shame. Used to be one of my fav spots and after this interaction and experience I no longer feel comfortable spending my money here. After three meetings and coordinating day, terms, and arrangements with 3rd party vendor we were getting ready to sign paper work and owner decided to raise quote. Mind you this was the 3rd price provided through the interaction. This drew the line because the first it appeared the manager was out and the person in place misquoted. The seconds time it was a misunderstanding on number of people and space needed, the 3rd time it was completely unnecessary and after we had been preapproved of arrangements they just seemed like they simply wanted more money. I no longer felt I was dealing with someone you can trust so we pulled out on the deal. Who knows what else would have happened if they could not get this simple task in order. Like I said a shame. Great place to eat, but be aware if looking to plan an event. Hopefully they get better at this I am sure this need is going to continue.
