If you want good, fresh, and fast and you're on the NW side of OKC this is a great spot for lunch. 6 bucks gets you grilled, marinated chicken, and two sides. The guys that runs the place has been at it for years, and seems to genuinely enjoy what he does. It could be a little cleaner, but overall a good spot for lunch.

This place is basic and welcoming at the same time, however, be aware of the owners trickish behavior, and remember nothing is free including water, also, the food is basic at best. If you are offered anything, ask how much, or if there is a fee before accepting. The owner or the gentleman behind the grill is a little bit of a trickster, and i'll explain if you care to read. The food is okay, and really not worth what you pay for, you would have a better tasting experience at Chick-Fil-A with less of an expense. Regarding my trickster comment, the owner or gentleman behind the grill technically did not do anything wrong, but how he behaved was a little slick, and because of his actions, I will not re-visit, nor recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I will always suggest folks go somewhere else if asked. The restaurant is setup like a cafeteria line, where the cashier is at the end of the line. So when we ordered, it was me and a group of friends, we decided to pay thinking that was the next step, but he did not accept our action to pay. He simple made us feel at home by offering us options to drinks. He did not ask "would you like a drink with your order", he simply said "help yourself to some drinks" like it was free, we should have asked if water was free, but we didn't. Again, he did nothing wrong. While getting our drinks, we tried to pay again, and he told us not to worry that we would pay later. When we got our food, a member of our party noticed that her meal was missing something. She ordered the 8 piece, and only got 4 pieces, so she asked the server, and he motioned to the owner stating that he took the order so he must have made a mistake or something. The server then goes to the owner or the guy behind the grill, and the owner then says, "you want more chicken, we can get you more chicken" like he was sorry for shorting her order. Now it was time for us to pay, I was going to pay for everyone, and I noticed the charge was a little high, so I asked him "why so high", and then he says, "well you had drinks and more chicken right", and I said "yeah water and you shorted one of our orders", then he says "well you have to pay for it", and I said "okay I will", he charged us .50 cents for water. I felt swindled, but the server made us feel at home, so I decided to give him a tip directly. The server's name is Moses. Like I said, the owner did nothing wrong, he just gave us a false sense comfort like the drinks were free, refusing to accept our payment until after we ate (despite the cafeteria layout), and charging us for chicken we thought he volunteered over due to his mistake. Our mistake was trusting the "feel-good-my-place-is-your-place" vibe the owner was giving. If he offers you anything, ask if there is a cost to it.

Chicken was a little too burnt which makes it hard to judge on taste BUT the rice and beans were the best damn rice and beans I've ever had. I would definitely make the trip just for that alone. Waiting for them to open up their new location on the south side. I know where I'll be going for lunch when it opens!

Not what I expected.. horrible sides and the chicken wasn't even good. It was 8 dollars for the lunch special which is two sides and a little bit of chicken. If it was decent it would be worth the money. I will never eat there again unless I have no other choice.

You will not be disappointed. For such a small space, I was surprised with the diverse menu. Lots to choose from, including cheesy, crunchy burritos, super sweet corn on the cob, and delicious, moist chicken. Fresh, healthy fare for $5 to $8. Plus a nice ambience, a quaint little retreat in the middle of OKC.

The restaurant is conveniently located at a strip mall on a visible spot from traffic. The owner greeted us politely, it was our first visit. We were brought menus and were asked to sit as usual. We ordered chicken and fish dishes. After we ordered we did not get any drinks for at least 10 minutes. Come to find out you have to serve yourself, but we were not told of the system that was set up in advance, otherwise, we would have acted accordingly. The chicken had good flavor, but it was dry. The fish was not special either. It was brought to us on styrofoam plates and it was literally thrown on the table. If I am going to a fast food restaurant, I have better service there and mostly consistent quality. If I go to a sit down restaurant I expect good service. But this restaurant was neither, so I would recommend to work on streamlining the system and making sure customers are not left guessing.

There was no manager to speak with - we sat in a completely empty front of the restaurant and then left after never seeing a single person.

Absolutely the best prepared best tasting Chicken anywhere. The seasoning is phenomenal. Meticulously cooked by his special procedures and spices I've been a fan for 20 years. Get one or two more pieces than you think. And his sides are very tasty too. Real home grilled food you can get a reasonable prices. Go there. Enjoy.

I give this place 3 stars. The grilled chicken is great. It has great flavor and is moist. The sides are good too that I’ve tried. I had a burrito this evening and it was just fair. The couple times I’ve been in I’ve noticed that it is not that clean behind the counter where the food is prepared and handled. They have a big freezer behind front counter and it was really dirty on the outside and counters were dirty. The garbage cans were full and some plates were stacked on top of garbage container with food on them. This is a family owned place, the food is good but it makes me concerned about the safety and cleanliness. If you see this right up front, I don’t want to see the back.
