Not Good at all. My husband and I ordered the fish dinner and the gizzards dinner. We were told it would be an 8 min wait on fish and 5 min wait on gizzards. We are ok with that as it means our food would be fresh. It was NOT fresh my fish was not hot and it was dried out as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. My husbands gizzards were not fresh either and looked as if he was given whatever was left over including crumbs!!!! The lady who gave my husband his drink was walking away from him as she was trying to hand it to him he almost dropped it. Then when she handed him the bag at the window she just let go of it and he had catch it so it wouldn’t fall Food HORRIBLE Service HORRIBLE I do want to point out that we love chicken express and are usually satisfied with the food and service. However, this time it was just too bad to not say something

I just went through the drive thru this evening and I ordered a #1 with a roll and corn nuggets.(03-08-2019 TICKET #417). The #1 meal is supposed to come with 4 chicken tenders...I only got 3 1/2 and on top of that I never got a the roll that I ordered with my meal. Very poor quality and very disappointing experience. If I could rate lower than 1 star I would. FYI THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS..THIS IS NOT A MEAL!

They had a delay due to computer issues. They made us aware of it and apologized multiple times. The food was great and hot. The only real downside is one of the orders the fries were soggy and ripped thru the bottom of the box. Also their sweet tea is the best.

Chicken was fine. Biscuits were good. The mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes remind me of the Bob Evans brand you can get in grocery stores. You can pull in a spot to order and eat (like at sonic), or do the drive through. Friendly staff, service was quick.

The way they fried their chicken makes it not greasy and has great flavor. also they have fired chicken gizzard which I found wonderful when pair with the gravy . Oh, I can drink gravy from this place, it is so smooth and flavorful. also their ice tea is awesome! Good brew.

I’ve been here more than a dozen times (always through drive through) and more than half those times they have got my order wrong. I like to substitute my drink for an extra side and they almost always get it wrong. Today they not only got my order wrong but they shorted me $2 on my change. I would give them one star but they are usually friendly even when I tell them they got my order wrong.

This place has some amazing chicken. It's amazing walking into a fast casual restaurant, looking and seeing just how much chicken is made and the cooks and staff all hard at work. Not impressed with the night shift. Came to order 2 number 1 with spicy chicken. Corn nuggets and 2 sides of corn. Messed up the whole order. Didn't give me receipt. When I called they said to go back and talk to manager. Went back the girl at register had a slight attitude. The manager never came up to talk to us about the problem. When I called the store back the manager had a condesinding tone in her voice. Crazy that I just came here 3 days ago and had amazing service. Will never come back to this location. Congratulations on losing some customers.

I've always loved chicken Express. First time at this one though, and it was a let down. The biscuits we're like rocks, and the butter was just slapped on top of them, not even melted. The drinks were only 3/4 full and that was all just basically ice. The okra was just wet with grease like it was at the bottom of the batch sitting in it for who knows how long. It was like being served leftovers. The chicken and mashed potatoes were the only things I can't complain about. I don't think I'll be returning back to this location. It's a shame, it's the only one near us too.

Have been eating here for several years now and have never had a problem until tonight. Gravy on mashed potatoes was runny like water, extra gravy ordered for chicken was the same way so called and told manager and all she said was I’m so sorry and we will address the problem. Never offered to replace my meal or anything, is this normal with Chicken express?? Like I said, first time having a problem so I wasn’t sure

I went here to eat chicken, but when I saw they served catfish, I was skeptical. 2 pieces of fish, hush puppies, okra, and tarter sauce for a decent price. I took it home and expected half good catfish, but it was sooooo delicious!! For "fast food" catfish, it's worth the price. The hush puppies were excellent and whatever is in their tarter sauce....dang good. Definitely going back soon.

Order did not contain the family side of mash potatoes or gravy. Didn't discover till I got home and drove 4 miles back to store. Was then lectured that I should have brought the food back to prove I hadn't received the items. Received my mashed potatoes with small side of gravy in a bag with another lecture that another manager would not have been as accommodating. Get back in car and found I didn't get my large gravy but too angry to go back in. Goodbye to Chicken Express.

Ok. How do you give 5-stars to a fast food joint? Well, if they have really good food, service that's fast and friendly with fair prices, what else ya want? They come out and take your money when waiting in line so you don't have to wait to move up to the window. Then bring your food out and you just move on! Love their rolls AND biscuits, okra, corn nuggets (yum), chicken and tenders. I am a catfish lover, but the time I tried theirs, was disappointed. All that said, a really good fast food dinner with some healthy choices available.

Normally this place has great service and friendly employees but tonight wasn't at all that. I was waiting to pay for my order and to receive my order and a guy was mopping and then without washing his hands or changes his gloves goes over shales the fries and then continued to mop again then sits the mop down and does it again then places the fries where they go. And I watched him do this multiple times. I then get up to the window hand the cashier my card to pay she was nice at first. Then when she comes back I told her about the guy and the mop and not washing his hands and changing his gloves before dealing with the food she says ok then leaves tells a manager in which doesnt move from where hes at she goes over to him and nothing happens he still continues to be on fries. She comes back says nothing about what i had told her. Then said my food will be another 30 secs. Get home and I ordered a 12 peices of liver and I only got 8?!?! Like really!?! I'm am not at all happy about this. Next time I will go elsewhere.

I don't come here often and by that I mean that I've only been 3-4 times. But it is truly worth it! First off I am from Texas and Sweet Tea is important and theirs is on point. I also love the pellet ice. I always get tenders and a biscuit. I think my favorite part is how simple and plain the place is. It's like when your food is this good the building doesn't have to impress. It's not fancy it is simple, plain, and amazing!!!

We have never been disappointed here. As the name implies, service is fast. We always get the chicken strips and they are always fresh, light, and crunchy. Okra is always good as are the corn nuggets. Their rolls are to die for, order extra, trust me.

The staff was friendly from the moment I walked through the door. My order was out and in my hands in about a minute. The smells from this place are delicious, especially the yeast rolls. The inside is very clean. The condiment bar is well stocked. The exterior was also clean and it appears they stay on top of the litter that tends to accumulate around fast food places. Overall I would definitely recommend anyone eat here. Their food is great. I personally like their fried chicken better than the other long time competitor. It just has more of a traditional fried flavor. They have a great selection of sides as well. On this particular stop, I ordered a single chicken breast with fried okra and a roll. The fried okra was cooked just right with the right amount of salt. (Some places tend to over salt okra).

My husband and I have always enjoyed the chicken, the fried pickles and the tea at Chicken Express. We had seen their sign on another trip out, noting that with all Family Meals, Gallon of Tea for Free was back. So we decided to treat ourselves on Monday, September 10th. We asked the cashier that was taking our order about that and we were told that it was an August Promo and no longer available. Ok Fine. We completed our order and awaited them to call our number. That is when we noticed that at the bottom of our register receipt, clearly printed was "FREE GALLON OF TEA WITH FAM MEALS", as shown on attached copy of receipt. Yes, that is what we ordered, a 30 piece to be exact. We asked the worker that handed us the meal, in a bag even though we specified it would be "dine in" and he informed us that their system had not been updated as of yet to reflect the new promo. He offered to call the manager over and we accepted that. We then realized that the manager was the cashier that took our order, told us the offer was no longer valid and hey, she never came over to talk to us. My husband did not want to cause a scene, so we left, without our tea, and not even an "I am sorry for the error". We will never be back. I do not care for a business that says one thing and does another, even if it was system error, it was the 10th of September, they had plenty of time to update the SYSTEM.

Have you ever driven by a restaurant, you look at the exterior and think there's nothing special about this place. That is Chicken Express. Driving by this location the exterior doesn't pop, when you go inside the building the interior is slightly dull. There's no bright colors, the color palette is on the dingy side. Don't let that stop you from getting some of the best fast food chicken you can get. The staff at Chicken Express is awesome. This group definitely believes in quality customer service. When we drive through Oklahoma on I-35 we make a point to stop at Chicken Express to eat because the chicken is damn good and the customer service is excellent. So don't let the Plain Jane exterior deter you. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

One of my favorite fast food chicken stops. Anytime I'm in the area I have to make a stop for a box of chicken tenders, corn poppers, biscuits and gravy. The sweet tea is a little too much for me so I have them water it down with half unsweetened tea. Other than that I can't complain.

The food is always fresh because its always busy. Service is excellent and fast because they actually keep it staffed with plenty of employees who are very helpful. And the most important thing; they always get your order right unlike most other fast food places. My 3rd time to order the Family Fish dinner. First two were great! But this afternoon’s was a disaster. Ordered sides of fries and cole slaw and their Tarter sauce. Called the order in and when I drove thru to pay the lady even repeated my order and I felt good. Got home (several miles) and no Tarter sauce and no cole slaw!! What a disappointment and sure did not wish to drive all the way back while the food got cold. If I ever try them again I hope they have someone checking to make sure the order is complete as I will ask them to for sure.

My family only uses the drive thru service and that is efficient, fast and courteous. (I have seen other reviews stating the opposite so, to be clear, this is a review of the Chicken Express at 1000 W Danforth, Edmond.) Note: This particular store is very popular at the drive thru portion so if there are four cars in front of you, expect a bit of wait to get through the line. That said, not obvious as it can't be seen, if there is a customer at the head of the line with a huge order, workers inside will often be assembling orders from customers BEHIND that first car. So when you pull up as the line advances, leave enough space in front of your car to enable pulling out of the line in case you get your order before the people in front of you.

Great chicken, lots of side offerings which helps when you have a picky eater. They offer chicken strips and catfish as well which offers some variety to my family. If their drive-thru gets backed up they don't hesitate to come to your car in line to bring you your meal, so mine has never been cold.

Just ordered an 8 piece. They were out of thighs. Guy said they would substitute 4 wings for 2 thighs. Got order, went home and there were 2 wings substituted for 2 thighs. Called store, order problem, pressed 3... went to voice mail. Called back and pressed 4, got manager, explained, told her I did not want anything but to let her know. She had no pity and did not apologize. "An 8 piece comes with 8 pieces" (not what the guy said). I suppose there are plenty of places to eat around here. If she would have said "I'm so sorry I fixed the problem and it would not happen again", I would not have made this post.

Apparently the drive-through person does not know how to take orders or follow instructions the food was gross not season well I would never come back to this place again. Have to try the corn nuggets if you have not yet. The rolls are warm and soft. Request the seasoning salt, they may ask if you would like the original or spicy. The seasoning is on the side but once you try it you'll put it on almost anything. Sweet tea is on point.

Giving 2 stars because service declines with every visit. Last visit ordered cherry pies, which were labeled cherry, get home and they are apple. Tonights visit, ordered UNSWEETENED tea, repeated it 3 times, lid is labeled un for UNSWEETENED, got home took a big drink and nothing but nasty syrupy sweet nastiness. First 3 chicken strips bit into, gross fat. Just done with this resturant, too many other good chicken places to go.

Horrible chicken and slaw!!!!! This place is awful and unorganized. We lined up for 45 minutes and the workers were running around everywhere and we couldn’t get anyone to come to the window. When we finally got the food it was cold, greasy and tasted soured! The cole slaw was also soured! They would not give us a refund when we took the food back! We will never go back there again! Food is often old, stale and gross. When it's fresh, it's good, but more often than not it's been sitting around for hours, so it gets hard, cold and chewy. I'm also pretty sure they're not keeping food at the proper temp as I've gotten several boxes that were barely warm. It's a shame because this used to be my favorite fried chicken place in the area.
