REVIEWS OF Cattlemen's Steakhouse IN Oklahoma

The service was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the food was good (huge portions). The house salad dressing is amazing (a garlicky ranch); the onion rings were amazing; the rolls were soft; the baked potato was served with a ton of butter; the chicken fried steak was good (the gravy was a delicious, thick country gravy; and the t-bone was perfectly cooked, but not of great quality. We recommend, as it’s a fun experience!

Nicole Malphrus

The rolls were the best part! House salad dressing was interesting and good! Got the small filet (6 oz), and while it tasted good and had good texture, it didn't seem like anything special compared to lower cost chains. Baked potato with cheese was on point! Really liked the feel of the restaurant, very unique feeling. Overall, everything was good, just not enough to justify the slightly higher cost over other chains to go very often.

I visited this place awhile ago and forgot to review until now. Worst steak I've had anywhere, yet one of the most expensive. I ordered mine medium and my friend ordered his well done. His came out very rare and mine was well done. It was extremely bland. I've truly had better steak at Outback/Texas Roadhouse/Longhorn than at this place. Our waiter lied to us about being our waiter, said someone else must have forgot about us and took our table when he was really our waiter all along. My friends grandfather said that this place had the best steak he had ever had, and I could not have been more disappointed.

The best rib eye we ever had!!!

Katelyn Cribb

Currently sitting in Cattlemen’s, flies are everywhere and server no where to be found. Came here to celebrate my birthday and was sadly disappointed. Salad was good with the house dressing but the lady in the table behind us found a bug in hers after we ate ours. Steaks were cooked under. Mac N Cheese was not good! Definitely will NOT be back and I do NOT recommend coming here to eat!

Cory Capps

This is not the meat of mere mortals. This is the place you go to find the best damn steak you have ever had- you don't put steak sauce in it. You don't pepper it, you don't salt it. You don't need more than one side. Because the meat stands on its own. This is what steak should be, this is how beef should be consumed. You will enjoy the warm, tender steak with every flavor filled jucy bite.

Dale Hamlen

Food was not either great or bad. Little pricey in my opinion for what you get. Wait was over hour on Saturday nite, kinda expected.

Chandler Moskowitz

My dad and I went slightly out of our way to stop here tonight for dinner on our road trip to AZ, and I’m so glad we did. Our waiter (I wish I remembered to ask for his name!) was incredibly nice and checked up on us consistently without being pushy. Off his suggestion I ordered the 16 ounce ribeye and my dad ordered the t-bone. Both were PERFECTLY cooked. The rolls were also a surprisingly great addition to our meal. Definitely recommend to anyone in the mood for a really good steak at a really good price.

Words cannot express how disappointed I am about this place. We came here to celebrate my niece’s 15th birthday. I was so excited about coming here because I haven’t been here since I was a kid. You see this place advertise on TV and the president has eaten here. So I was excepting good service and good food. My steak came out cold, and my baked potato was hard as a rock. The butter would not even melt. It took the waitress forever to bring out the rolls. I had to ask several times if I could have a straw for my drink. Which I still never got. I will not be returning.

Peggy Jean

My boyfriend took me for a birthday lunch and everything was SO good. We had the porter house and it was perfect.

Lacy Burch

Delicious food, friendly people. Loved it.

Devon Taylor

The steaks were amazing. We loved the salad with their house dressing. It was so good. We will definitely eat here again when we come to Oklahoma. We only had to wait for 20 minutes. We loved the upstairs waiting area and the history of the restaurant. You don’t want to miss this place!

Victoria Mando

Best meal we have had out in awhile. We had the ribeye. Love the salad and toast.

Sabrina Hunt

The best steak in town!

Chris Morgan

Quite possibly one of the best places in town to go and eat an amazing meal and enjoy being in a place where the locals go as well. Service is phenomenal and the steaks are cut and cooked to perfection!

Cody Anderson

I had some friends in from Nigeria and took them to dinner here for a classic Oklahoma restaurant experience. They really enjoyed it. Service is top notch. Prices are pretty good. Food is just okay. I got the small filet and would have it again. Rolls were delicious. 5 stars for the atmosphere and service. 4 stars for the food.

Andrew Johns

Food was average. I’ve definitely had better and bigger steaks for less money. Service was good but it doesn’t overcome the cost for average food.

greg honea

The best in Oklahoma City ok.Had the sirloin thick cut medium rare and sauteed mushrooms. Casual dining with upscale service. Steaks $ 10.00 and up.

Visiting From Orange County California and this place was Great! Rib Eye was delicious! Mac and Cheese was AMAZING it's a must have. Harris and Tyson were so great, very nice.

Jeff Draper

Outstanding steak! The house dressing is also one of my favorites!

Robbie Mowles

Great steaks! Plus their house garlic salad dressing is wonderful.

raymond evans

Hands down the greatest steak I've ever had.

Elva Obscura

The filet was really good and the service was great. The building has charm but the seating in general was really terrible. We were seated in a really small booth with a very low partition. Instead of enjoying my date I was distracted by looking at and being looked at by the couple next to us.

Scott Alberry

What can I say it's Cattleman's! For my birthday I flew in from Florida to see family and eat at Cattleman's. It's been 7 years since I last ate there, and back then I would have given it 5 stars but today it's just a 4. The service was great, the beef soup was still fabulous, and the steak tasted great. I had the 16oz ribeye and it sinewy and hard to cut through all the way. I ordered it medium rare and it came out rare, none of our steaks were cooked the way we asked for. Cattleman's is still a classic in my book.

Jerry Hensley

this restaurant has a lot of potential. They had some great dishes and they had some okay ones. But I'm definitely glad I gave it a try and would do so again in the future.

Janet Abraham

Loved it! Dont miss this jewel when in OKC. Friendly staff, prompt service and fabulous food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is casual and historic, the dining room is a bit dark and cave like due to the wood walls. You can feel the ghosts.

Mark Karas

Not great, not horrible. The steak was a little overcooked and tough (they did offer to cook another one) and a little small. The salad was just lettuce and dressing. The bread was good. The baked potato was average. The sauted mushrooms were kind of gross. The lamb fries were ok, but it was my first time trying them so I have nothing to compare to. The A/C wasn't working so it was hot. There were flies flying around. The soap dispensers in the bathroom didn't work. For what I paid I wasn't expecting the best steak in the world but I did expect better than the chain steak places. I paid $65 with tip and I was still hungry when I left.

Tammy Carson

Great steaks! Excellent service! Overall great experience!

Claiborne Pherigo

The roll was the only thing I liked. The food was mediocre at best! Chicken fried steak was greasy tasting! Was very disappointed in the food here. I'm still wondering what all the hype is about. I mean this place was on the food Network yuck! When u walk in immediately a dark atmosphere and dirty. Diner with high prices smh won't be revisiting this place!!!

William Lockhart

Should have done this Sooner (no pun intended) my wife and I are from Kansas City and in town the night before the OU vs Army game and on a recommendation from my cousin we decided to visit here. I cannot say enough good about this place, it is what a steakhouse should be and that is: Great aged steak, great entrees and I promise if you've never been here before, bring your appetite because you will need it... The ambiance is simple, basic and western, if you're looking for someone with a sommelier ability (that's a wine steward) and froo froo you might want to check out another location, if like I said above you want a great steak that doesn't need steak sauce with a friendly wait staff and have no problem conversing with folks while waiting for a seat and you will wait (but its well worth it) then this is the place for you. Only complaint: The iced Tea could stand to be ALOT better, its weak, tea is meant to be dark.....but even so its not enough for me to take away a 5th star. If you're ownership reading this I am looking forward to coming there again when we come through OKC on Oct. 8th.

Dakota Early

Super awesome first experience!!! Awesome staff especially James Delheimer!! Will ask for him again!!!

CarlyV25

The best loin I’ve ever eaten! The sautéd mushrooms were out of this world. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we were highly satisfied! We also had a blackberry cobbler with ice cream and it was amazing. Excellent customer service!

Christian Carruego

Not bad, but for the price it has to be better than that. Went in wanting a nice thick juicy rib eye, they brought me a miniature steak. Good flavor and marbling but again too small. I had my steak cooked rare, I don't want to imagine what a well done steak will look like after shrinking. A bit disappointed. For the price range I was expecting something like Morton's. Capital Grille or Ruth's Chris, but even Longhorns seems even better.

Dustin Barr

Everything, and I mean everything, about this place was mediocre. Mediocre service, food, dinnerware, dining area, atmosphere. I won’t ever be back because there are many places better than average and this place isn’t one of them.

Wendy West

Great food, not super expensive, but really well put together. Food was served superbly by our wonderful waitress Caroll V. Shes been here for over 10 years go check her out shes great.

Sheila Brown

Best place for a steak! So juicy and delicious! Pricey and wait can be long at times but worth it!

Shane Haberlein

Amazing! Awesome upstairs waiting area that can seat plenty of people and has a bar. Steaks were fantastic and had a piece of coconut cream pie to top it off for my birthday. Will come back anytime I get the chance.

Juanita Guy

The black hostess was extremely rude. But our waiter Robert was amazing. If you come ask for him by name. The food was outstanding. Robert was the best server ee have had in ages. We would come back just for him but the steaks were so amazing. We will definitely be back.

Tracy Rieves

I ate here last night and I was really hoping our service would have been better. We had our family drive 30 minutes to your restaurant to celebrate my daughter's 15th Birthday. And our steak and baked potato was cold. The butter didn't even melt in the potato. I didn't complain because I was hungry and we had already been waiting long enough. We spent $19.00 on a steak dinner and it was not worth it at all. I could have gone to any other steak house and it would have been nice and hot. I was not expecting to pay $19.00 for a cold meal.

Christina Barbini

Cattleman’s was recommended to us by so many people and I was unfortunately disappointed. The steak was a good cut and had good flavor but could’ve been cooked a little longer. The mashed potatoes and gravy taste like instant products and the Mac and cheese was bland and the noodles soggy. The only reason this review is getting three stars is because the service was excellent.

Justin Shaw

I live in North Carolina and after doing some research decided Cattlemen's was a place I had to eat when I visited OKC. It was a Saturday night and our party of 11 was told the wait would be a 1:45 which we were fine with. Then the problems started. Our wait was two and a half hours. When we finally got seated we had to keep asking for our waters to be filled, the shrimp addition to my steak was forgotten and brought out when we were half done with the meal. Overall the food was fine but not something worth waiting that long for.

Joanne Lubrich

The best ribeye steak ever! Ask for Robert for a waiter, he is the best! Lamb fries are delicious! Monday is a good time to go, no wait.

Homer J. Simpson

I've been here twice now. Great steak for sure, and while not cheap, it's a good value. Far better than the chain restaurants, and has a cool atmosphere/history. Server also hooked up a blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream because I told him we were celebrating my graduation from culinary school. Tyson I believe was his name, great great service. Thank you to Tyson and Cattlemen's

K P

Good service good food little costy 14.95 cheapest plate orther great fancy spot

Sandra Greeno

We had about an hour wait tonight. We were informed by the locals who eat there at least 4 times per year that they have never seen it this busy. That being said the wait really wasn't so bad as there is a waiting room upstairs with a bar, restrooms & plenty of seating. The time passed quickly & we had great conversations. The steaks were amazing and well worth the wait. We got our Blackberry cobbler to go.

Cyril Philemon

Came down to visit family and we wanted some good steak. This is where we were told to go and was no disappointed. Everyone got either ribeye or filet and they are freaking delicious. Best steaks we ever had.

Connor Lund

Great steaks, must-go if you’re in Oklahoma City.

Steve

The best steakhouse in the world. Love, love, love it.

Partyof2 Stevens

First time at cattleman’s I can say I will return next time I’m in Okc, very nice staff had a great waitress carol. Don’t be fooled by the look of the place. It’s very good and perfectly cooked steak didn’t have a long wait at all baked potatoe was good and also the Mac and cheese. I give them 5 out of 5 our steak was flavorful we had the ribeye for 2 and was plenty. Well done cattleman’s we are picky eaters!

sandy mitchell

I finally had time to eat at the Cattleman's on this trip. This place & area have so much history . We arrived mid afternoon and they still had some lunch specials left. The place is huge & busy but we still were able to get a table for 4 . The bartender makes a GOOD old fashion. Their house salad dressing is so good and so was the garlic chips. Our steaks were all about Med/Med well (we requested med.rare) & a little chewy. Reasonable prices & good service.

Tammy Baldwin

Our server was very efficient and very polite. It was the best experience I have had at this restaurant. The food was excellent as always but the service was outstanding. I think her name was Dena. I will ask for her next time. She answered questions about our steaks and the history of the restaurant that I never knew before. Great job! I will be back

nodreffahs .

Not overrated. A GREAT steak. You should get one! We went early, about 10:30 a.m. after landing from an east coast flight so it was lunchtime for us. Got right in and sat down and enjoyed us the presidential! Our waitress was one of the best we've ever had. Tremendous service in addition to the great eats.

Rocky Battenfield

Best steak I've ever had

Jeremy Lambert

This place never fails to please. Lamb fries are a must-have , the streaks are always perfectly cooked and the liquor menu is great.

America's Taken

We come for a whole Chocolate Creme Pie and Rodney....our favorite waiter, and of course....a good steak. I love the old restaurant style service of a good meal with a salad and hot rolls with butter. Every employee is personable and helpful making patrons feel right at home in a relaxed atmosphere. This Oklahoma tradition is a regular stop for countless Oklahoman’s and is a tourist destination. The lunch specials are reasonably priced and delicious.

Pam Henington

Service was spot on. Food outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful relaxing meal.

Victor Alvarez

Loved the peppered steak and rolls, friendly service and good atmosphere, prices are pretty good for a steakhouse

Lauren Forester

Excellent food as always! Our waiter made a great first time experience for my parents who live in Tulsa! Always amazing!

Never Again

First time eating here. We arrived at 5:15 on a Friday evening. They were just starting to get busy. Our waitress was very informative about the menu. We both decided to have the prime rib, baked potato, salad. Steak was perfect. Their coconut cream pie was to die for, mile high meringue! The wine menu was nice. Very good choices to choose from. As far as prices for the entire menu, I'd rate it a $$/$$$.

Chad King

Great place to get a steak. Always enjoy our visits.

Belinda Harden

The best I've ever eaten. If you are ever in Oklahoma City don"t this iconic landmark. Tabitha thank for the great service. We will be coming back from Dallas soon for the service and the steak.

Kelli Sheridan

Party of 7 & our wait was only about 30 minutes. We were seated & our waitress spoke to us within a few minutes. They were really busy for an early Sunday evening, but we realized there had been a rodeo going on, so that explained the crowd. 3 ordered prime rib, 2 steaks, 1 catfish dinner, & I got grilled shrimp. I just love the little toasts you get with with the salads. Funny thing to love I suppose, but I could eat an entire basket! Everyone enjoyed their dinners, including the salads, rolls, & baked potatoes. The lamb fries were great - very tender & so tasty! My shrimp had the best flavor too! It was a great meal after seeing Phantom of the Opera!

Leana Lee

The food was plentiful, hot and do good! Our waitress was so polite and did her best to take care of us

John Tevis

It's my kid sister birthday. Went here to celebrate. We ordered the rib eye steak and split it. It was perfect. Just the right size. Salad with house dressing. Every thing was great.

Britt Smith

As usual, the steak is outstanding, the service is warm and friendly. I really wish they would bottle their house dressing!!! It is to die for. I always start off with an appetizer of lamb fries. Being right in the Stockyards, we are talking fresh beef. Definately worth the money.

Sa C

Food was wonderful. Our waitress was not very good. Ruined our experience today. We had sweet tea and the waitress refilled us with unsweet tea and after sending it bk we still got unsweet again. Once she brought our food it took her a long time to get our butter for the baked potaoes and steak sauce. She kept forgetting what we asked for. Sprite was watered down. The waitress also took our uneaten salad I was going to take home.

Karen Eaton

Very busy place on a Saturday night. Had to wait 45 minutes for a table, but was worth the wait. I've probably never had a better steak! I had the Dinner Steak, tender and delicious!

B Harris

Worth the money. They know how to do a great steak here. And the side dishes are prime quality.

Jasmon#jammersquad Murray

Awsome service great food

Christina Conley

First time there. It was great. Service and the food was awsome.

Tammy Jones

House salad dressing is awesome!! I had the Grilled salmon it was very good. Would love to go back

Chris Davidson

That is by far the most tender chicken fried steak I've ever had. I don't even think I would have needed to use my knife at all. As a side note, get the house dressing on your salad. You won't regret the decision.

Jazmin Sigala

Excellent service! Friendly atmosphere and great food!

whambam Cunningham

Me and my Wife Love the Steaks, cant wait for our son to grow up and eat here too.

Deb Sada

Great steaks, older than the Titanic, our waitress Debbie was delightful! Cattleman's 22 ounce beer, special treat!

jessica berger

This is not a place for a great meal but a place to say you've been. There waiting area upstairs is a nice touch but you can tell the meals are quick prepared and for mass production for the high turnover. Not only was the presentation such but the quality was just bland. Recommend if you want to say you've gone to this iconic restaurant but not if you're looking for a good steak dinner

Jennifer Nguyen

I'd heard a lot about Cattleman's and finally got my family to go with me. I decided to go with the t-bone just so I could have leftovers and because I love t-bones! The meal started with a salad which I would recommend asking for the dressing on the side if you don't like your salad drowning in it (plus you can dip other foods in the dressing afterwards). The t-bone came out a perfect medium rare and was so delicious. They use a very simple rub before grilling it yet it was extremely flavorful and one of the best steaks I've ever had! I also feel the need to compliment the side of veggies which were surprisingly tasty, soft, and more flavorful than I expected! There's a diner side which is less formal and the actual restaurant side where you should dress a bit more formally (though jeans and a cowboy hat definitely fit the dress code here).

ashley kelley

Maybe I don't know enough about steak but I thought their $30 steak tasted like any other steak I've ever eaten for way cheaper. Don't get me wrong, it was good food and good wine. The staff was great. Our waiter was attentive and awesome. But went there when it was 100 degrees outside and I don't think the place has air conditioning and there were flies everywhere. Flies landing on my $30 steak!

Cady Welch

Today was my first time in there and it was amazing!! I will definitely be back!

Katrina Nutter

I went here for the first time ever with my family. Everything about this place is divine. The steaks were tender and juicy, and the mac n cheese is to die for. I can't stop thinking about it. If you live in OKC or are just passing through, you NEED to come to Cattlemen's.

Wade Hawker

Both the food and service were exceptional. The streak was flavorful, thick and juicy just as nature intended. Deena was the perfect hostess. Kind, attentive and above and beyond in her service. A great big thank you Deena!

Cullen R

Good old school atmosphere, decent service but I think I was over expecting the steak to be out of this world, it was average.

donald moody

I dont know.where to begin. My family and I was so excited to eat here after reading the history and seeing all the reviews. But I have to say it was not only the worst steak I have ever eaten but our waiter was a awful as well. The best thing I had was the bake potatoe and it was a small one at that. My wife had the mash which tasted like instant potatoes. The mushrooms were boiled not sauteed. The steak oh my God the steak the thinnest porterhouse I have ever seen, tough, and i swear i think they boiled that as well then gave it. A quick sear. My son had the hamburger he said that was ok. I will never go back. Tourist trap... this is my first ever review on a restaurant if that tells you anything. I had to take the time to warn others. .

T J McKinsey

Mighty fine job by the staff today for our Christmas Party. Seemed they were super friendly and happy to be there for us. The food was great. Except we were served run of the mill cupcakes instead of the phenomenal pie like last year. Overall, you just can't go wrong with Cattlemen's.

David Fudge

Folks...this place is an OKC icon. The breakfast is not to be overlooked! Saturday Sunday buffet is probably the best deal in town. Dinners here feature the finest streaks in town. You should be a regular here for breakfast...seriously...

Stacey Kay

Hands down, BEST STEAK EVERY! Deberah W. Was our waitress.. Drinks were always full and our food was exactly how we ordered it. No wait, everything great! Back to OH-IO!!

Jason Velcheck

One star rating as zero stars was not an option. This was our third visit to the restaurant. First in 2005, second in 2015, and last week 2019. First visit was great. Second visit was good that we were excited to stop again. Last week's stop; what went wrong? First THIS IS NOT A STEAKHOUSE! This has become a tourist trap. Push as many people through the door, give them a steak and have them on their way. ALWAYS be suspicious of the steakhouse that does not identify the size of the steak on the menu. First we had to wait 45 minutes for a table because a tour bus was dining. Yes a tour bus. Again THIS IS NOT A STEAKHOUSE! We are seated and surrounded by families with young children. Lots of fish and pasta being served; no steak. THIS IS NOT A STEAKHOUSE! We ordered the lamb fries and they are unique and tasty. From there, things took a turn for the worse. The dinner salad with house dressing had great flavor but was comprised of mostly shredded carrots with some lettuce thrown in for green color. As for the steaks, we ordered a warm red center. The wait staff response to our order; "so medium then?" Ah no, rare is cool and red, medium rare is warm and red. My steak was prepared hot and pink. Hot as in burn your tongue hot. Others in our party finished their meal while I waited with my cold french fries and a plate of baked potato condiments for baked potatoes that were not ordered. We ended up leaving without having dinner. THIS IS NOT A STEAKHOUSE. Before Cattlemen's provides some "we apologize" response, they didn't have any problems taking our money for a meal that was an absolute disaster. What's more, I have attached a photo of a steak we cooked on this very same road trip using a hotel gas grill. We know how to cook steak and were so disappointed to see the demise of what was once a steak institution.

Cara Harris

I've been here several times. My last experience was awful. My husband and I both ordered the porter house, they ran out as we were ordering. No big deal, so we both order different steaks that were much higher in price but that was fine too. We both order our steaks medium. His was perfect! Mine was rare. Very rare! I don't like sending my steak back but I did. Waiter brought it back to me, still rare. Sent it back 3 times. Everytime he brought it to me it was barely warm and still rare even after the 3rd time sending it back. I started feeling bad, I didn't want to seem like the problem so I told the waiter it was fine. Needless to say my dog ended up with a $27 steak. The waiter agreed that it was rare but told me the steak was just really thick making it hard to cook. I'm sure this wasn't the first half inch thick steak they've attempted to cook to medium. Poor excuse. Not sure if I'll go back anytime soon.

Joseph Lizotte

Would be 5 star, however asked for medium rare got medium well. Best steak ever had. Will differently go back.

Peter Quintana

First time here and I will say my colleagues liked it very much. As for me ? I didn't care for the chicken fried steak.....(beef)....the batter coating over powered the dish...it tasted more like oil/grease used to cook it. Had it elsewhere and it was great. With that said.... will return if ever back in the city.

Tom Seabrooke

We take the office girls out for lunch as each one has a birthday. Today was Melissa's birthday and she chose Cattlemans. Well, no disappointment here, food was great and our server, Charles, was outstanding. Thanks Cattlemans for the good food and thanks Charles, great service. We will be back. Sincerely, Karyn and Tom Key Realty and Property Management

Bryan Taylor

Not sure where you can get a better steak dinner for a better price! This is our go to restaurant whether we are having dinner on our own or have family or friends in from out of town! Fantastic service and great food at a very fair price!!

Steven Cook

Have eaten at Cattleman's no less than 12 times and have yet to have eaten a bad stake. I recommend the big T-bone. Service is top notch. Get there early on weekends, and even then expect a wait but it's worth it

Tamara Brown

Delicious food. Flavorful steak which was cooked to perfection. The place has an old diner style but don’t let that fool you, the food is high class. I ordered the small filet for $23.25. Came with a large baked potato and salad. Dressing is a homemade creamy garlic, only downfall- too much that made the salad almost like a coleslaw by the time I stirred it up. Overall don’t miss this place!

Karen Shamblin

Zach was our waiter. Ask for him! Food was very delicious, n tender. I just loved their croutons, very different. I was hired more of them! Go check them out.

Kadee Warren

Steaks were great! Not much of a meat eater anymore but the husband had to try it. Got the petite cut filet and it was just right. Tender and juicy with no marbling.

Jr Corey

One of the best restaurants in Oklahoma City! Excellent consistently great service. I have been eating there for 20 years and the steaks taste just as good as they did years ago.

Steven Goat

Cattleman's was a very good place they served you well ask you if you needed anything very often give you everything that you asked for check to make sure you had plenty to drink had great desserts and very pleasant waitress our waiter mine was a waiter he was very good I caught him at the end of his shift but he stayed until he had served us completely with everything before he clocked out Did not get his name but was very polite and generous and if you don't have that and his service you don't have the right place to eat

John Ford

When I have coworkers in town, they always want to go to cattleman's. We always leave there full and completely satisfied. The team at cattleman's has never left is disappointed.

sameer shahid

waste of money paid almost $29 for small size steak with a lot of crackers rotting salad and a funny shaped bread

Jessica Sage

Tried to eat, but no seating . Went upstairs and still no seating. Never got to try the food, but not going to wait an hour.

Éomer Éadig

Overall average. Several members of our party got steaks and I got the salmon. The salmon was pretty good and my friends enjoyed their steaks, but it wasn't quite as noteworthy as I expected. The potato skins were great. Lamb fries okay. The house salad was just iceberg lettuce mix. This probably comes as no suprise to absolutely anyone but there were no vegetarian options. I'm not terribly disappointed with the food but it was not at all what I expected from a supposedly famous location. We went on a very busy night and the environment was very stuffy. From the outside, the location looks like a total dive, but you could tell efforts had been made inside to spiff it up. Our server, Cameron, was really nice, helpful, and attentive. The staff I interacted with were all very nice. I suppose the hardest thing to reconcile were the prices. The atmosphere and food don't measure up to the price tag. If I had to guess I'd say you're paying to eat there. I know this is a popular destination for people eating out of state, so I'll give some advice. There are lots of fantastic local restaurants in the Oklahoma City area that give an authentic Okie experience. This just isn't it.

Paul Murray

Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. I recommend the Ribeye steak and the coconut cream pie for dessert!

Jay Brozek

Never again, that was the worst chicken fried steak I've ever had. And I guess they still have the original a/c units from 1910, it was very uncomfortable . And to top it off you had to fight off the flies. I actually felt sorry for the waitress having to work in that sweatshop.

Jordan Henrickson

I've been here a couple times now and it is starting to become my favorite steakhouse in OKC! The location is in the beautiful stockyards, which looks like an old western town. They have a good deal of parking behind the restaurant, so don't let the little parking lot to the side deceive you. Their prices are decent for the quality of food you get and their service has always been great! They have a lot of room, and a comfortable waiting area upstairs with a full bar in case you have to wait for a table. I recommend getting the Ribeye, it is one of their best steaks. Overall, they are a great place for steak and nice relaxing evening and I highly recommend going if you want a quality meal!

We had a few flies consistent buzzing and landing on us and our food. A waitress who rolled her eyes and tried to upsell every side and dish. And the excuse we got was "that what you get with an authentic location". I checked as I was leaving. They have a great pest prevention system at the door and an air lock. The flies must be coming from the kitchen!!!!

C Hood

I absolutely love their food and we always have incredible service. It was a cold day and the air conditioning was working quite well where we were sitting. We mentioned it to our waiter and he picked up our drinks and moved us to a warmer location. We were so appreciative...he didn't have to do anything yet he wanted our experience to be a good one.

Taylor Estrada

Very good! Great steaks! We were passing through town and stumbled upon this place. We will be back!

Danny P

The chicken-fried steak has no flavor the roles were good but the butter had no flavor the french fries looks good but were cooked in old grease My wife thought the salmon was good but she ended up getting sick not long after we won't go back

Ian Schalo

Went for Sunday lunch, and it was both cheap and incredibly good! $20 for a salad, loaded baked potato, roll, and a delicious 16oz porterhouse. It was fabulous. Do try the Sunday lunch special!

Vamshi Krishna

They have good pies. Had a coconut cream pie..... Too much roasted coconut flakes on the pie... if not, I would have given five star....

Dani Sullivan

Been here a few times and today was the best experience! Our waiter, Harris, was phenomenal. He was very attentive, sweet and refilled our waters a bunch which is always great! Our steaks were perfect and the Mac n cheese was to die for. I enjoy that this place is dress fancy or casual especially after eating a steak. Will for sure continue coming and hope to have him is our waiter again.

Joshua Girdner

Good food, pricey, but that's to be expected at this type of restaurant. The waitress was efficient as there were 11 of us and she was on her own. She did a good job considering that. My biggest issue is that it feels very close quarters inside, which isn't a real issue at all, just not a place I particularly prefer to eat in because of that. It was overall a pleasant experience.

Stacey Gonzales

Babes birthday dinner was amazing and waitress was amazing also. She bought dessert for his birthday.

Sheri Wilson

I had always heard great things about this restaurant and the food was okay. The services on the other hand was absolutely deplorable. My 5 year old grandson is fighting leukemia and unfortunately due to his meds has a dry cough. When we were headed to the buffet Harrison coughed. Nowhere near the food I might add. We may it a point to keep him behinds us so that he wouldn't cough on the food. As we sat down your staff decided to make a huge scene about how the food had been contaminated and that they would have to close the buffet to replace the food. My 5 year old warrior was humiliated. After that our waitress avoided us like the plague. I understand your concerns about your customers health and I even understand that they may have thought the food was compromised but what i dont understand is how they thought embarrassing a child was necessary. My Grandson never wants to come back because of the mean people. We won't be back!!

Andrew Wright

The chicken fried steak looked absolutely pitiful and had absolutely no flavor. They also don’t give you rolls until your entree arrives unlike all the better steakhouses. As for their sirloin, it’s no better than any other steakhouse, but it is more expensive. I’d heard great things about this place but I was honestly really disappointed.

Erica Myers

The steak tasted great but it was barely warm when I got it. Mushrooms were the worst thing mushrooms I've ever had at a restaurant. The mixed vegetables were pretty good. My waiter was great though. I probably wouldn't eat there a second time.

Ashlie Tracy

I came here about 5 years ago with my family. I had THE BEST steak I have ever tasted in my life. Being in OKC again, I decided that I had to come back. Again, I had the best steak ever. The homemade coconut cream pie was to die for. The whole staff was cheerful and kind. I can't wait for my next trip to OKC.

Cindee

Our family recommended this steakhouse because we always have steak when we are in Oklahoma. We walked in and were seated immediately. I knew I wanted a Ribeye, so I scoped out the menu beforehand. I added Grilled Shrimp and was given the choice to replace my Potato with Sautéed Mushrooms. I got the House Dressing for my salad and it was the best. The croutons were even good and I’m not a croEverything was AMAZING, even my Bloody Mary made with Absolut Peppar. Sarah took very good care of us and always kept our drinks topped off. We came in right before the dinner rush because as we were leaving, I heard the wait was 45 minutes. There were herds of people waiting to get in. This was one of the lower-end priced steakhouses that I was looking at. I wonder if the other were as good as Cattlemen’s!

Casha Flowers

Was worth the long wait. Food was delicious! Had the salmon and T-bone steak. Don’t have ranch dressing, which IS strange haha, but their house dressing is great.

Lyl Rose

An old friend I hadn't seen for 30+ years took me here while I was visiting OKC. It is a great place. The old school style and charm radiates! Takes you back in time for sure. There was a wait, but worth it! We got a cute diner table in the main area and our service was great. We had the Lamb Fries - delicious! - - Have a local fill you in about that! My friend had a strip and I had the ribeye. I was so excited about this steak and always ask for medium rare -- it came a bit overcooked and the waiter knew I was disappointed - he took it back and they cooked me a new one and it was perfect! The sides were all wonderful too. I recommend.

Michele Walton

We had a party of eight, got seated in ten minutes. Our waiter Lorin was great. He waited patiently for our orders, and they all came out fairly quickly. Everything was correct, didn't forget a thing. The steaks my husband and both had were a bit on the tough side though. Very disappointing, for the price I think we will go to Texas Roadhouse or Hollie's from now on

John Starling

The best steak I’ve ever eaten. The mushrooms are also great. I come with my wife and we have a great time. The service is good like the food.

Kacie Cunningham

Even though the wait was an hour when my boyfriend and I went, it was totally worth it. The steaks were some of the best that we've ever tasted and the steak soup they had was fantastic. The rolls were HUGE and tasted good. I'll definitely be coming back here.

Michael Bilow

My wife and I ate there tonight. I had the Prime Rib Eye (with salad, baked potato and dinner rolls), she had the Petite Sirloin with same sides. Our bill was slightly north of $55. That justified one of the best bottles of wine I've ever had that ran $50. A month ago, we ate at Peter Lugers in NYC. Seriously, Lugers is the top steak house in NYC and one of the best in the USA. I can promise anyone that the steak at Cattleman's Cafe is far superior to what I had at Peter Lugers. I will grant that the atmosphere was very different (in New York, you'll get white tablecloths). I spent $105 for two great steaks and a great bottle of wine at Cattleman's Cafe in OKC. I spent $230 for two steaks, a beer and a glass of wine in NYC. I'll choose Cattleman's any day!

Angie H

I tried Cattlemen’s for the first time the other night, and was shocked at the long line. I assumed the food would be outstanding, but it was average. The salad was fresh and I loved the dressing. My filet was very under cooked and lacked flavor. The shrimp were over cooked and dry. I can’t say I would eat there again. It was very over priced for the quality.

VuduVince

Had a great steak enjoyed the house made ranch dressing and had wonderful service from Kim who was our server. Thank you ma'am.

Moises Reyna

Great food great sevice! Come and see Morgan for great service!

George Wilson

Everything about this place is amazing. The service is always spot on. I have never received a steak that wasn't cooked to perfection. The lamb fries are so tender. This place is wonderful for a special family dinner or date night. Seriously give the business a visit.

Lyndsi Robinson

Tonight was my first time eating at Cattlemen's and it was so good!! I have Celiac and was a little discouraged with their menu for allergies, but our waitress Debbie was AMAZING! She was very knowledgeable about Celiac, asked the severity of my reactions to gluten and gave her recommendation and she was correct on everything. It made it a great experience knowing that not only her, but the cook were very aware about allergies and comfort!! Will definitely return!!

victoria freeman

It was okay. I was expecting something more after reading the reviews, but service was okay and food was okay. The Mac and cheese needed more cheese. It was mostly noodle and shredded cheese on top. Steaks weren't cleaned well either. Just going to stick to Texas Roadhouse.

Jared Caron

Spending some business time in OKC, I decided to venture out to all the places recommended by Guy Fierri's Diners, Drive ins, and Dives. This place was unfortunately the most time affordable for me at the moment. Cheap diner quality steak priced at near $30. Mashed potatoes I could have microwaved myself. Plus there was no music and I was sat next to the wait staff wrapping silverware talking about how much they hated their job. My waiter was cool though

N Roberts

We were really hoping this restaurant would be great based on the reviews and for being on TV and having a President go there. However, the service was not good (we ran out of water in our cups and it was never refilled among other issues). For the price you pay, we were hoping for more than a salad that was bagged. Honestly, we've received much better service and just as good of food at Texas Roadhouse. I wish I could have left a better review.

Sheryl Rice

You want a GREAT steak? Definitely eat at Cattlemen's. The stakes are beyond good and the blackberry cobbler with ice cream is a must have. Great service too. Worth the drive. An institution that lives up to the hype.

Brennan Moates

Awesome ribeye. My wife and I always agree on going to this place. Waitresses always do a stand up job.

Tinna Long

We had our Grandmother's 90th Birthday Party here today. It turned out wonderful. The food was delicious and staff was professional and very kind.

Pete Reeves

Absolutely incredible. On a Monday we had a 15 minute wait in the upstairs bar. It’s worth a drive from literally anywhere. Amazing beef. And it’s not pricey in my opinion. Something like this in NYC or California would be three times the price. Give it a try....

Michael Bishop

Although I am not a steak guy, my company always seem to enjoy this place in Oklahoma City's famous stockyard city. Chicken, ham, shrimp or fish options available if you're not a beef eater. Interior is a bit drab, and outdated, but the food and staff make up for it.

Dj Shipman

Always a great experience...I've been going to Cattlemen's for 9 year's...Everyone is friendly from the Morning Crew with Ms Boston...the lady that makes the cakes in her spare time....and of course Sharp

Chris Hutchison

An excellent local steakhouse, friendly wait staff and great service. Steak cooked to perfection.

Brad Bassham

Heard good things and was really looking forward to a great anniversary dinner. However, with as busy as they were, you would think the owner could afford to update the AC, replace the smelly carpet, and deal with the fly infestation. Judging by the gray meat I saw on plates as we were lead to our cramped table, the food had little to no chance of overcoming the negative impression we were given from the start of our wait. It should be called Cattle-Car’s not Cattleman’s. Furthermore, when a restaurant deletes it’s tag from Facebook reviews it doesn’t like, it makes their 4.7 star rating worthless.

Yaboi shootNblanks

Service was very good. Got our salads and food out fast too. I got the t-bone. It was around 30ish dollars and my wife got the rib eye. The steak was really good but I dont know if I'd get it again purely because of the price. That's not to knock the steak at all it was very good. Just a personal preference I guess. It's not bad for an every now and then when you have some extra money kind of place.

Tyler Pearson

Went with the presidential t-bone...fantastic choice. Cooked perfectly, filling, reasonable prices for what you get. Awesome feel to the place, - you can feel the tradition. Also, their house salad dressing and homemade croutons are perfecto! Definitely give it a try if you have never been!

Brittany Ammer

The steak flavoring was pretty good. The house salad dressing was our favorite part. They should make the dinner rolls a little less dry. Not a bad price overall.

Matthew Antunez

I had the filet mignon and it was sooo good. Prices were very reasonable. I've paid more at Longhorn and Outback. I would be a regular if I lived here.

Yuranis Loudenslager

Best food in Oklahoma. Very traditional. Love the customer service

Teresa Brown

Great historic steak restaurant! Everyone needs to try this place at least once! We start out with the house salad and the dressing is amazing in all of its probably very unhealthy glory! I remember seeing the recipe for it on Diners Drive ins and Dives, but it is so good and worth it! The lamb fries are another treat you have to try! We just love them. The steaks are on another level good! You truly won't regret eating here. The prices may be a little higher than many steak restaurants, but I think the quality is there and makes them a little easier to take. Love the atmosphere with the booths and the paintings. We highly recommend them!

Jo Russell

The Cattlemen's Cafe is a wonderful place to eat. I understand why it has been in business 100 years. Atmosphere is warm and comfortable. Our waitress was outstanding. Our steaks were perfectly cooked. They were tender and huge. The lamb fries melted in your mouth. We drove 5 hours to eat at this place. It was well worth it. We will come back often.

Dan Riley

Absolutely love this place! Food is always fantastic and the wait staff is the best in the area. The location has great history and has earned its fame well.

Charles Morales

Great steaks very juicy, and great service friendly staff

Sandra Bremer

Great food. Highly recommend for a night out with friends and family.

Steven Colombo

All i can say is if u like a diner atmosphere then this place has the best Tbone I’ve ever eaten

David Willcox

I always enjoy the meals we get at Cattlemans, from the steaks to the salads. It's a popular restaurant with locals and travelers alike. The service is excellent.

JIM H

Great service, friendly staff. I had minor problem with my meal, and they did way more then any other place I've been to; to make it right and me happy. Great experience.

Julie Neal

We had the best experience with Kim and she made a family birthday so special. A million stars for her!

Amel Garcia

The wait to be seated was definitely worth it. My t-bone was perfectly cooked to the correct temperature.
