Food was great but their payment processing system was out of order and they requested customers to provide card details on a piece of paper, which is plain stupid. And to top that, the only other form of payment they accept is cash. Ended up going to an ATM to withdraw cash and waiting 45 mins, which ruined the lovely food experience. They really need to work on customer service and not be cocky to customers that in their sane headspace would never share their credit card details on a blank piece of paper.

I cannot see a rating less than 1 star. Last time we ordered goat biryani where rice did not cook properly. We'd been to buffet where at least 1 cuisine was not perfectly cooked. Don't why the chefs near live dosa had some bad attitude towards customers. I don't recommend to go here.

I have visited Tadka over many times, However I visited last week and the food was better then before. I don't know what they have done but it is great. The Naan and briyiani was excellent, that is the only thing I drive 1 hour from Mayfield to this restaurant for. The Chinese food is nasty but the Tadka side is amazing.The staff is super nice, I asked about who makes these naan and it was told a man with a turban name singh does who has special talent. Good Job tadka and singh keep it up. I'll be ordering for my staff at Cleveland clinic soon. Naan is the best!!!

The atmosphere was relaxing. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. I never had Indian food before but the waiteress took her time and explained the menu and helped me choose a delicious cuisine! Very courteous staff. They go the extra mile to make you feel welcome.

I literally have ate here 50 times and got the stupid paneer 65 and the Indian food all in one order, but now it's one menu or the other. They have one dining room right now and one kitchen but can't do it. I have ate here 1 to 3 times a month since I moved to Cleveland and I will now never be back. No wonder you have 3 tables dining in at max at a time. I will no longer promote this restaurant and will tell everyone that ask not to go.

It took a long time to receive our food even though there was only one other couple eating at the restaurant. The cook got our order wrong and made my dish spicy instead of mild. The waitress brought yogurt to the table to "fix" the mistake. The meal was then cold. I was still charged for the meal. They made my husbands dish mild instead of medium and did not even offer to correct the mistake. I ordered dessert, which was to be served warm. It came with the spoons in it. I took a bite and burned my tongue badly. The spoons should have been on the side!

Went there for my birthday and received the worst customer service. The waitress was constantly giving us dirty looks and leaving rude remarks. Even though we had an hour and half after the food was served we were constantly being rushed by the staff. Found a piece of hair in my food and even then there was no apology made yet the waitress gave us a dirty look. Never going there again!!

Nice Indian / Chinese buffet. Open 1130am to 2pm and regular restaurant hour for menu orders. Nice people work here, very friendly if you reach out and engage them in conversation. Food is tasty with enough vegetarian items to satisfy me and enough meat items for those that consume such. I recommend the buffet be tried, and if you want dinner that was pretty good too even if Indian dinner leans towards more costly than your local burger bar..

We have ordered Roghan josh and chicken malai botti yesterday and it was tasteless. Roghan josh was too much salted and full of meat smell. There was no salt and other spices in chicken malai botti. I am not going to order anything from them again.

Ok I'm not sure what's up with the negative reviews, the food is just like any Indian restaurant, it's good, we had 4 curries and they all tasted distinctly different from each other. Yes, the service isn't what I would consider great but usually at Indian restaurants it never is especially to fellow Indians which is what we are. We are a family of 4 two growing boys and they loved it, the tandoori was good, everything was authentic too, it looks nice inside. Overall, if you're craving Indian, its worth a try. The service isn't bad, it's just humdrum that's all.

My daughter and I were in the North Olmsted area doing some shopping. We thought we'd bring home some Indian takeout as a treat and stopped into Tadka to order 2 chicken tikka masalas and a naan. Specified that we wanted the dinners MILD as we're not fans of strongly spicy food. We got our order, and drove home, which is about 1/2 hour away (rural area outside of Amherst). Heated up the dinner and served it, and one bite was all it took for us to realize it would be inedible. It was SO SPICY. My husband and I were gulping water and my daughter actually cried because it burned her mouth. It was so spicy that our mouths tingled for quite some time after just one bite (we didn't eat an more after that, it was not edible). I called the restaurant and told them what happened and asked for a refund, since the dinner is useless to us. They told us the only way they'd refund was if I drove all the way back and brought our meals with me so that they could taste them to see if they agreed with us that they were too spicy (kinda gross too, who wants to go tasting meals a stranger has eaten from?). I finally did get them to issue a partial refund, but not without an argument. We love Indian food and have never had an issue with this before eat any other restaurant we've visited in numerous states and several different countries, just with Tadka. I'd avoid them, or at least make sure you sample your takeout before taking it home.

I also read negative reviews on this place and because of them I was a little hesitant to go there. I am so glad I did. The staff was incredibly friendly, the ambiance and decoration was lovely, the restaurant was clean and most importantly the food was fantastic. The bread and rice were on point and servings are large enough to share. I highly recommend, and would definitely go there again.

Got billed 20 dollars for mother’s day buffet. So for 8 people 5 adults and 3 kids we literally got billed 163.15 including gratuity of 23.40 dollars. Really disappointed with food quality and with service quality as they never came to our table to clear plates though they are professional in calculating gratuity with their super computers. I will never suggest this place for everyone. Be there at your own risk. Worst Indian restaurant in USA.i literally felt my money got looted with this hopeless and uncleany restaurant. Never go again rather i will die with hunger.

Not sure how legal is it, they are adding tip of $10 fixed in bill for 4 people over table. And they dont accept payment without tip and claim that its system generated bill can not be reverted. Personally I believe, a tip is something customer's choice where to pay as token of gratitude or not based on quality of service. They don't have any right to demand a tip.

Tadka is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants where you can expect authentic food served in a great ambience. I have been fortunate enough to eat on both east and west coast Indian restaurants including Midwest metros as well. This beats’em all. Yes I know it’s a little strange to have to choose between either Indian or Chinese and not both [people must know that these two counties are far from friendly, maybe that’s why ;) ] but who cares, gives me another reason to go visit and eat the other cuisine as even the Chinese menu is awesome. Gives you a taste of Chinese food served Indian style.

Some of the worst service I've ever seen. It took 30 minutes before they even took our order after seating us, and it wasn't even that busy. Every time we wanted something, like ordering, being given the check, etc., one of us would have to go up and ask. And even then, it'd still take a long time for them to act on our requests. Not sure why, but Tadka is closed and co-located now with Inchon. No big deal, I thought. They showed us both menus. Only one other couple in the restaurant, but waited ten minutes to order. When I wanted to order a spring rolls starter and then goat chettinah, my server told us no. I offered to have the check split if they needed to keep the accounting separate, but no chance. Not helpful at all, so we left. Do not recommend at all.

Came here on 9-1-18 around 8pm. Stood waiting to be seated for 10min..got looked at a few times but never spoken to. So we walked out one door into the Asian side. We were told to go back to the Indian side if we want Indian food. Went back and waited 10 more minutes and never was seated or spoken to. I overheard the woman by the computer say..I don't know if they think this is McDonald's...no..not at all!! Much better service at McDonald's! I don't think we "fit in" with the rest of the people eating there.

The first time I ordered from here (using UberEats), the spice level was very low on everything. I was not a huge fan. I gave it another shot and the flavor and spice was kicked way up. It was a much better experience. I recommend the vindaloo and the biryani (though to be honest, I enjoy BiryaniHut Express's Biryani much more).

I have eaten here several times, invited different friends to come and eat here. Every one really liked the food. The service is always very good, the staff always friendly and helpful. I have had both the great lunch buffet, and have had the evening dinners. This is some of the best Indian food I have found in the Cleveland area. The prices are also very good. I read some of the reviews and am at a loss to understand how this place could get a bad review, because every time I have been here the food the service the staff and the prices are all very good!

Good quality Indian food, some items are a little pricy but not bad, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Be aware of items on the menu that say "bone in" as there will literally be pieces of bone along with the meat in your curry or other such dish. They are attached to a chinese restaurant right next to them under the same management. The big guy, though his English isn't the best, is very jolly and loves to help the customer in any way that he can. You should definitely try both sides of the place.

Did not realize I was so close from this place. Was craving some Biryani. Googled and came I had been here before. They have two sections one side is indian chinese and other one is punjabi food. However this night one section was closed. Biryani was super yummy. Place was a bit slow on a week day which us to be expected. The food did come out fast!!! PLEASE PLEASE DONT GO THIS PLACE Save your money..give it to charity but don't eat this food and pay money for it... I tried this place with my wife. Ambiance was ok for a new place. Service was horrible. The waiters were clue less about the items in the menu..You have to point and show the item in the menu..I had to send each and every dish I ordered back to be made again..Food had no salt, mirch or flavor in it. I still have rotten taste in my mouth from food of this place..Be kind on yourself and avoid this...

It was around 6pm on a Saturday. The restaurant was sparsely crowded. The sugarcane juice was freshly squeezed and had an authentic Indian taste. The taste of all the curries was authentic as well. All the spices were very well balanced. No artificial colors were used. I would love to try other items on their menu as well. But, i would highly recommend Fish amritsari and Chicken Andhra Curry if you are a non-vegetarian and the appetizer Hara bhara kabab if you are a vegetarian.

Poor Management ....! They made my family sit on different table in a same restaurant because we wanted to order chienese and punjabi. If you cannot serve both on one table then don’t entertain customers for both food. Greedy for $$. For sure they take orders for both food on same table because when we walked in we asked for it and server said yes, but manager came on table and said NO. Not going there again.

If you're from India or been to India, you would know that Dal tadka usually means Yellow Dal. But Dal tadka means Dal Makhani over here. Please check with your server that you're going to get what you would expect. Food was average. I won't drive again for 35 mins. to eat here.

Horrible customer service and lying waiters, but decent food. You want to read this if you are a first-timer. I and few friends went there last night and ordered Hydrabadi goat biryani and Hydrabadi chicken biryani and a couple other entrees to share. After waiting a LONG time, they bring us one Hydrabadi chicken biryani and one TADKA GOAT BIRYANI. We send it back because that's not what we ordered. A few minutes later another waiter comes out with the SAME biryani and when we say that we ordered HYDRABADI goat biryani, not TADKA, he makes a face as if we're lying and takes it back. Few minutes pass by and the same waiter is back with the SAME biryani and when asked he says that it's Hydrabadi (he himself said it was the Tadka biryani a few minutes ago when he brought it)!!! Lied straight to our faces!!! So I told him that we've had the Hydrabadi goat biryani there before and know what it is. After getting caught, he goes on explaining to us that it's the same thing (which it's definitely not). Then throughout the whole time we were there, no one came to ask how the food was or if we needed anything else. We had to call them ourselves for our water to be refilled. We've been there 4 times so far. Every time they would take our order of Hydrabadi biryani, come back a few minutes later and tell us that they don't have it. Yesterday was the first time they lied to us. And finally now we know that they actually don't have anything called Hydrabadi goat biryani, but still aren't updating the menu or letting people know when they order!!! All the other food we tried there was extremely good, which is why we go back there. I'm giving a 1 star strictly for terrible customer service (every time we go there, no one comes and asks how many people will be dining or lets us know how long we have to wait to be seated). We're not ever ordering the Hydrabadi biryani of any kind there - that's for sure!

Very bad experience. I visited after nearly 2 years (i stopped going because the food sucked). I thought I will give it another try. My experience was no different. We ordered Veg Cutlets for starters - undercooked and I got a STAPLER PIN in my cutlet. The server casually said "sorry" and offered to exchange it with another starter. He did, but served without the chutney!!! The server took my order for main course; five minutes later he came back to confirm it. He did not write it down. When the food came, I got the wrong dish. When I pointed it out, he simply said that I will change it. No apology. When the correct dish arrived, it was more like a soup than a sabzi. The malai methi matar curry was as thin as tomato soup. A manager looking guy apologized couple times and said "the chef was upset that he got a stapler pin in your food. so he messed up the sabzi". ARE YOU F'ING KIDDNG ME!!! The manager brought a complimentary drink for us - SODA. of all things in the restaurant he brought the cheapest item as a complimentary. My wife asked him to bring juice as she does not drink any caffeine. The guy looked surprise and did not say anything - just stood there. She repeated that No Caffeine. He hesitantly said ok. Instead of orange juice or other fruit juice, she got jello + water + sugar blended as a drink. No juice even though it is on the menu. After all this - the server brings out the bill and says "i have not charged you for the sabzi and naan". I just could not belive he said that. Why would you charge me for something I never received nor ate??????? Tadka is one of the more expensive indian restaurants in Cleveland area. But service wise and food wise it is the worst. Other smaller restaurants who charge much less provide excellent food with friendly service. I would never go there again even though it is 5 miles from my house - nor would I recommend it to anyone. I am better off driving half an hour if it means getting good food without staples in it.

I brought two teenagers from out of town here for their first Indian restaurant experience. It was strangely empty but didn't bother us as we were able to get great seats. The waitress was being trained so we had an interesting experience. The girls loved the food and I a gobi paratha with chai. I was a lovely dinner. The curry today I ordered was very NASTY!! I don't think the chief knows what he or she is doing. Only thing I loved was the beard I ordered very tasty and fresh. Thumbs up to who every made the bread at least some thing tasted good.

Menu was just fine and taste could be little better, or it could be that my bar is little higher. Staff was friendly and accommodative even though I went there for buffet.

This restaurant is so empty it's creepy. My friend and I were literally the only people there(late dinner at 7 o'clock on Thursday night), but the employees seemed to be occupied with something else somehow. We picked this place randomly and committed to it. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so o just got an appetizer. I paid $6 for two little triangles the size of pizza rolls and they just had meat in them. Not bad, but still not anywhere near good. The portions are small and the food expensive. Nobody seems to eat here, so it's a wonder how this place has been open for years. Really just go anywhere else.

I’ve been here several times and really enjoy the food. The atmosphere is very nice and open. I find them to be family friendly - within reason. And their buffet is very good. Their dosa bar (sat only, I think) and behl puri bar are great. They staff is friendly and professional. I don’t find them to be bubbling over but I feel well greeted and they’re happy that I’m there.

This is the place I was first introduced to Indian food and I have been coming back ever since. My favorite is the chicken makhani. The menu has a great variety and the best part is asking the waiter/waitress for recommendations. I would recommend to anyone. Great service and great food.
