Food is very good. Reasonably priced. Staff is fantastic
Always a great experience at Starliner. Food is amazing, and the staff is always quick and friendly. Not a bad thing to say. It is the go-to place for breakfast in the Columbus area (now I just need to try lunch/dinner).
I had their jambalaya it was amazing. Their chicken lime wings was also delicious.
It's been nearly a year since I've been here due to travel, making this return to a favourite restaurant extra special. Patio seating was perfect for an early Saturday lunch, and the Huevos Rancheros were delightful. Top it off with excellent service for a great experience.
Food is great and the staff is very nice!
I'm obsessed! The food is incredible and the service is outstanding! I Ohhhh and the mimosas are strong if you're planning on drinking your breakfast ;)
My grilled chicken sandwich seemed a bit dry and the sweet potatoe fries were a bit mushy..my spouse big steak burrito he had eaten half before he even found a piece of steak.. I asked the girl if by chance she gave us a veggie burrito and she said no you only put 4 oz of steak and it's so it may not be in the end..it was our 1st time there we just moved to the area and was checking out local restaurants...was a bit disappointed
If you want great food, friendly staff & a fun, slightly funky atmosphere, this is your place. Don't forget to get some plantains! Pictured is their Jamaican French Toast. Portions are generous as well! Highly recommend.
Went for the Saturday brunch and it was wonderful all around. Hubby got the breakfast quesadilla with a side of the BEST pico degallo I've ever tasted. My pork hash was very hearty and flavorful with great thick toast. The interior decor is cute and aervice wonderful. I highly reccomend!!
I love this place. They even have the impossible burger now so it was nice to have more options!
Fantastic! Delicious food and plenty to go around. Friendly and personal service. Small diner with nice patio. I recomend their specials
Great food and service
Great long time Hilliard spot. The food is excellent; the Cuban breakfast dish I had was really great. The place is very fun and our server was very friendly.
Genuine feel especially with the mural from the original shop
Great food and service. Probably the best restaurant in Hilliard.
Great, friendly and personable service. Food was good. I like the variety and was well executed. Margaritas were good as well. We stopped in based on a Google search for family friendly must stops. This was a fun fit.
Great, reasonably priced food and friendly wait staff.
Had a great experience at the diner. Excellent service and food- even making cajun shrimp tacos (an off menu option) with homemade black beans and rice. The po boy fish sandwich was awesome.
First time in the new location. Food is as always excellent. Mostly Cuban. Mixed drinks are very good. Service was fast and efficient. Will return!!
So I just have to say that this place has the best breakfast that I have had in Columbus...and maybe anywhere! Their menu has a lot of options, and everything is incredibly affordable! Not to mention, that their coffee is great too. The staff are friendly and really helpful/patient. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this place.
Good food and vegan options too.
Really excellent food. It looks unorthodox but the food is wonderful.
So good! Usually there's a bit of a wait, but well worth it.
A very close friend and I ate at the Starliner, for the first time, a few days ago. I live out of town now, but each Summer when I travel home, we're going there. The service was excellent and the food was heavenly. I had the Jambalaya, and an order of plantains, both of which arrived in huge portions and were amazingly well prepared. Our beautiful server, Megan, was perfect in every way.
Amazing Breakfast. Love the Cuban French Toast
This place is absolutely amazing. Great food. Good service. Can’t get enough. Awesome breakfast
Great food, great service. An long time Hilliard mainstay attraction, but in a somewhat new location. I had the Cuban sandwich for the first time in 10 years. It brought back memories. Pretty diverse selection of menu items, definitely something for all different ages and tastes.
Great food and service. The quesadillas were awesome and the jalapeño soup was very good too.
Amazing! Vegan options! Delicious! Delightful! Definitely am going to return when I'm in Ohio - so great! You have to try this place!
Great food, drinks, and service. Good prices.
Awesome food and always friendly service. Creole Mac!!!!
Unique and delicious food, and great service! We've never had a bad meal here.
The service was great, personable server, fabulous food! We all 3 ordered something different and were very satisfied with our selections.
Great decor and laid back atmosphere. Food was sooo good. Service is friendly and attentive. omelets are on point. Over all great breakfast spot.
Always a unique flare to breakfast! The daily specials never disappoint!
Loved every aspect of this place!
The plantains were fantastic everything else was okay and service wasn't great
SD is a staple in Columbus. The question is why? The food quality is OK, if not on the greasy side. The Cuban and south of the (Ohio) border flavor is evident in the menu - but the dishes are not special and are not "inspired". The new location is bigger and ostensibly better, so your chances of getting a seat are higher - but some intangible bit of the charm of the old rickety building never made it to the new, swanky Hilliard. That ambiance was probably worth at least half a star. So, all in all - 3 stars now.
This place has excellent food and portions. It was my first visit and I had the creole macaroni. Delicious. I would highly recommend and will definitely visit again. Too bad it's not closer to my home though.
Great food and great service. Nice variety and selections on the menu!
Nice place...great Cuban food....
Good menus good service
Wow! Just Wow!!! First time visit- went with my boyfriend who is an avid Cuban food eater- it was a great first time experience. I ordered the Po'Boy sub and have to say it was quite delicious. Would have like to have more dressing on the sub as it did not have much and the piece of fish was pretty big. The home fries that came with boyfriends food were some of the best we have ever had and the french fries that came with my food were simply amazing!!
Wonderful Cuban and Cuban-fusion cuisine! The place is a favorite with locals, the place fills up quickly. Service is quick, the food... Oh the food!! Wonderfully prepared, appropriately seasoned and simply presented. Nice beer selection. Bright, eclectic decor with a great urban Latin vibe. Cozy! The peanut butter pie is freaking awesome!
This place was amazing. We had marchaca.
Good food, service was adequate but decidedly on the slow side. Would still return again for the food.
Good food, good service. Nice place to stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
This Diner is a Hilliard tradition! This place has great food! It looks like they have never updated their tables or chairs but dont judge a book by its cover it has wonderful food! Get the Cuban toast!!! However, there is always a long wait and not much room for the wait. To be fair we go after church so the wait is a given!! Obviously we find it worth it.
Simple and good. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Great setting with lots of off street parking, we experienced quick seating and fast service - the menu is unique with a Latino flare Cuban I think. The food quality is good. Breakfast options are very nice and the lunch options look great.
The Starliner Diner is definitely unique, I would consider it a central Ohio gem! The varied menu contains a lot of really great options. It’s good food for a fair price in a very interesting setting. Check this place out to experience the better side of diner-style restaurants!
First time in a while we have had dinner at Starliner and it was great. We always go for breakfast which is one of the best places to go for breakfast.
This was my first visit. Really cool place with a widely varied menu. It's on the other side of town from me but I will definitely go back. I had the Creole Cajun mac and cheese. It was good but it could have been a little more Cajun for my taste
I enjoyed the kitschy interior, the food is very good but nothing terribly fancy, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I'd suggest giving this place a shot as a regular breakfast spot.
Starliner Diner is one of thes restaurants that you have to go to if you are arround. Their menu is a delightful take on food south of the border. My usual is the Cuban sandwich for lunch. Looking for something sweet for breakfast, try the Blueberry Banana Pancakes. They also have the Impossible Burger, it is so delicious, love the avocado. I think its my new favorite item. The only thing i can ding them on it the lack of staff. The last visit it was a 45min wait and once seated the waitress was having to service too many tables leaving little time to check with everyone at the table for refills, let alone silverware. Super friendly though I dont hold staff responsible. Just need more help. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Hilliard area. All the items on the menu are great, you wont regret your visit!
This place actually has some of the best food in the city, and the owner is one of the nicest people on the planet. If you're ever in Hilliard, and you're stopping for a bite to eat, definitely give them a shot. Bonus, stay for cocktails, they have a full open bar and patio as well!
Awesome Cuban Food Columbus Ohio
I like food and service. But interior and cleanliness could be better
By far my favorite diner. The food is so good. Service is wonderful. The staff is great and attentive. My only complaint is that I don't live closer.
Best restaurant in the area. The location is also better than the last!
Always good food at a great price, and the staff is excellent. My only regret is that I live 30 miles away
Loved this charming place. Food was great. Atmosphere even greater!
Waitress was very nice, rainbow trout with veggies and rice was worth every bit of the $14!
Nice outdoor patio. Solid ambiance. Delicious burrito special.
Local Cuban-inspired diner. Good Latin twists on breakfast favorites. Love their breakfast options.
Get the jalepeno soup, it is one of my favorite things to eat in all of Columbus. That giant piece of bread and bowl of soup makes a great lunch! Honestly have never had anything bad from here and the staff has always been great with their service. Very friendly and very attentive.
Great food great atmosphere and great drinks
Sunday breakfast of chilaquiles. This was a tradition when we lived in Hilliard. Now we only get it once every couple of years. If you are close, enjoy it.
Made from scratch food, great cold-brew coffee, and awesome service from Adam!
I always heard rave reviews but I am SO very picky about authentic flavors. I ordered the breakfast chilaquilles with black beans. It was absolutely AMAZING! Enough sauce to crunch up the chips it's served with and soak. Mix it altogether with the beans, veggies, eggs... It was perfection (minus a side of fresh off a gridle corn tortillas). 5/5 would go back again!
Amazing food! We love going here for breakfast. Their specials are always great. The wait to get a seat is way faster since they moved a few years back. They have their own parking lot. Can park and see the rest of downtown Hilliard
Food was delicious except the biscuits were too dense. Adding a little habanero sauce to the sausage gravy hit the spot. Server was friendly. Food came quickly.
What a fun place. Food was great. Service was great. The decor is retro. I would call it a place for families to go. The Cuban sandwich was delicious, as were the vegetables. I was allowed to substitute the vegetables for the plantains that came with the sandwich. The portion sizes are generous. Totally enjoyable experience.
The food is authentic Cuban and the people are friendly
Retro style and out of the ordinary menu.
Starliner’s food is really good! Especially now that they have the Impossible burger.
My husband's favorite local place. The kids like it as well. The gluten free options are limited but they work with you, leaving bread off sandwiches as requested. I usually get a stewed beef dish that's excellent. Buy a loaf of their bread to take home. The family loves it.
Such good food especially brunch! It came out really quickly too even though the place was packed! Can’t wait to visit for dinner!
Unique casual atmosphere; friendly, efficient staff and EXCELLENT food. Best sauteed vegetables I've had. We'll be back!
Tummy is happy! Excellent food. Tasty and plentiful. Great funky place. Good service attentive but didn't hover. Go. You won't be disappointed.
Always a pleasure and a great experience. Great flavors of Cuban foods and mixes. Ronnie the bartender will set you up with a beautiful Mimosa or a tasty Bloody Mary. Great service! Great food. A pure delight every visit!
Love this place! Great food and friendly service.
Service was fast and solid. We had a pancake and eggs plate, pork hash, chocolate cake, and crab cakes. Also jalapeno soup. Soup was the best part, home run for sure. Crab cakes had no lump meat and were really wet, not good, sent them back. Pork hash also very wet and very sloppy, flavor was decent on it though. Pancakes we're nothing special. This is just a midrange diner that had been recommended to me in a very over rated at. Would rather go to Sunnyside any day. Cuban toast was solid.
My favorite little gem. The creole macaroni is so good. Great place to hang out woth friends and eat great food.
Good breakfast .. more niche Latin breakfast..
Cute place but very mediocre food. Awful soup and I had some kind of less than memorable sandwich. Try the berry pie
Interesting place. A variety of menu options; Cuban, American, Mexican. Service was friendly, but not quick. Fries were oily and not well cooked. Sandwiches were decent.
This diner is rich with charm. Food is plentiful and delicious.
Very nice, if quiet server. Fast service, fairly busy, from a lady with 2 kids, to and older couple. Food choices interesting. My meal was good, very basic (BLT). Decor is very cool and retro, area the restaurant is in is very cute
Cuban french toast and crab cake breakfast were amazing!
This was my first visit. I had the Cuban sandwich and fried plantains. The food and service were both good. Definitely worth going back to try something else on the menu and see if it's as good.
Great mix of Cuban, Creole and American food. Great salads and creativity for a diner. I usually get the jambalaya, but their rice beans and vegetables plate is good too (as well as a their salads and breakfast). Servers and kitchen staff are always accommodating.
Have always loved this local spot! First time at new location. Patio is lovely! Never disappointed here!
Always great food and service.
This is a quirky and non-pretentious diner that offers Cuban inspired food at a very reasonable price. The standard menu is full of wonderful options, but the real treat is the ever changing specials menu with options like a mofongo omelette, chorizo burrito and more. The service is good and the cocktails are stout and delicious. Very laid back atmosphere, good to enjoy a morning brunch after a night out or a place to bring family. The highest praise I can offer is that I visit regularly and always anticipate a new and exciting dish .
Jambalaya was spicy, as it should be, but was mostly chicken, very little sausage. Rice and black beans were excellent.
This is. a good place to eat good quality breakfast. I always order the burrito special and it's amazing. Highly recommend!
Good service, great menu, and better food. If you like spicy you will love it. If not just get with the staff for alternatives and they will set you up. Never had a bad meal.
This is a friendly, relaxed, unpretentious place! The servings are huge, artwork is varied and beautiful, the playlist keeps you on your toes (Beatles covers in Spanish are delightful) and service is personalized and super friendly. Family …
Food was really good and not super expensive.
I was there today for lunch and it was my first visit. We placed our order at 12:21 and at 1:07 it was brought to the table and it had to be boxed up as I only have an hour for lunch and we called ahead for seating. The servers were very …
The Starliner burrito was delicious. It was very busy but the food came fast.
Great brunch. Sometimes there's a wait, but it's worth it. Excellent service and the food is awesome. Love the French Toast cubes and the Huevos Rancheros. And the outside dining in the summer is a big plus.
The breakfast burrito was great! Lots of vegetarian options.
Omg this place has really good breakfast food. It's freaking delicious!!!
Great food. Great atmosphere. Wish I would have taken photos but I will if I get to visit again.
The food here wasn't the best in the area, but the ambiance was incredible. Their chili special was absolutely delicious and is what really made the meal! Their fries were also salty and a good side dish for the meal. Ultimately, this is a safe bet if you are trying to satisfy a wide variety of preferences.
Some of the best food in Columbus, and that's saying a lot. I recommend the Creole Macaroni, which they can make even if it's not listed under the days specials.
Awesome food, eclectic and fun atmosphere!
Pork roast flavor was acidic with heat... very little by way of real flavor. Terribly long wait to get table. Tried it for lunch on a Saturday on recommendation... way overhyped! No genuineness to atmosphere. Service was hipsters trying to act like they cared....It was cheap.
The atmosphere is pleasant and there is plenty of room seating-wise (not too crammed). My crew and I got brunch and things were just okay. Home fries were underdone and the bread was a little disappointing. The burrito I ordered was alright, but on a positive note the Cuban French Toast was very tasty, reminding me of fair food.
Their Cuban pizza is very unique and pretty darn tasty as well. Definitely not your average diner, you can tell just by looking at their menu. It's very much its own thing, and its own thing is a great thing.
Met friends there for dinner. The Creole macaroni is one of my favorite dishes. A little spicy, but just enough to make it delicious. The house margarita is excellent. If you still have room, get the flan. My favorite place to eat.
Funky menu, funky vibe. Our waitress was a delight and a hoot, but the sandwich and nachos left a bit to be desired to be honest.
Relaxed, pleasant environment. Delicious food with menu to satisfy all tastes. Margarita..perfection.
Weird hours but astonishing food.
Super cute place with very friendly staff! The service was excellent - very fast and very attentive. The food was of course delicious. I got the creole macaroni and loved it! On top of that it was reasonably priced! Definitely recommend it.
