OMG! BEST INDIAN FOOD IN SLC EEEVVVERRR! So good! All yer favorites, and fantastic new dishes!!! Recommend to anyone!
This place is so dang good! I order take out about every other week. I came to the restaurant today. Super clean, beautiful artwork good indian music. Authentic feel and taste. I love this place never been disappointed. (First time I've ever left a review)
Very good buffet with limited selection. Ordering off the menu is even better. Very friendly staff.
Lovely family run spot with superb food. I have been a few times now. Service has always been friendly, prompt, and professional. Food is all clearly made using fresh, high quality ingredients as well as all clearly homemade; Including the sauces and lovely nan. Portions are filling and prices are fair. I have only just moved to the area but I intend to be a regular for as long as I’m around.
The coconut chicken curry has been my go-to, but literally everything on the menu is delicious. The customer service is always above and beyond. The flavor and the hospitality keep me coming back.
This restaurant was very good. The food was excellent. The waitress was great. The place was empty which I was unsure of....but several came for pick up orders as we waited and ate. It was very clean and well kept. The kids enjoyed the Balliwood music and television show as we waited and ate. We all ordered different dishes and all were served perfectly. The great flavors and smells were amazing and we all very much enjoyed stopping here to eat. We were on a geocaching trip to get the caches along the river walk after dark. it was the perfect location to start our walk from. I suggest you stop here if you get a chance. I was there 1-5-19 Saturday about dark.
Great place to kill some time after work before picking someone up at the airport.
So I was just hungry for something flavorful ya dig? An i was walking by this place...was like shoot "never had home made indian food. Let us indulge in risky behavior" so i walk into the place. Just got there buts kicked by a rush but they still greeted me respectfully. I ask for something to go an they hooked me up with the thick menu. So i was looking for something with no meat an of course they got a rice dish with all kinds of flavor an heat options. Ya know low medium an toxic heat in your mouth. Well i went with medium. And whatever they put in their homeade cheese an sauces, blendid with the rice had me feeling so right I had the urge to shake someones hand an tell them how good my food was. Yes very much so. Dont recall the name of my meal but for around 10 bucks you get a whole plate that can last...if you dont go a lil overboard like i did
Elegant place to eat lunch/dinner at. Staff is very friendly and kind, also fond of having a good conversation! Food is savory and of good quality. Had a good lunch!
I don't dish out praise easily, but I can honestly say that this was not only the best meal I've had anywhere in the past year, but possibly the best curry I've ever tasted (this comes from a curry addict who's had hundreds all over the world). The Chile Chicken was, to my taste, flawless, and the mint chutney was outstanding as well. I don't live in SLC, or I would be here on a regular basis. Thank you for a great experience, and for making my taste buds very happy!
This place was amazing ! Straight
Great food, small place. Closes early. Friendly service.
Great service and it’s owned by a family they have great food. Reminds me of my hometown in India how my mother cooks love the food. Love this place will come back when ever we have a chance great food and service and very clean!
This is the best Indian food I have ever had!!
Want to try something different? Bring your own honey.
Great flavorful food. Hot & fast. Nice atmosphere. A little expensive but so delicious..
I have frequented this business for many years. They have always provided delicious food and charming service. It is farther and more difficult for me to get there, since they relocated, but worth the effort.
Food was very tasty definitely I'll visit again ..very friendly staff..
Always great food! Excellent choices on the buffet and the price can't be beat! Clean restaurant and nice people.
Great service, great food. Very consistent. Family owned and operated. Quiet, clean atmosphere, good for meetings over lunch or dinner.
Worst Indian Food.
Always enjoyable lunch, great food
The food was absolutely delicious. Tender lamb. Appropriate amount of spice. Paneer naan (with homemade cheese) was fantastic. We will probably return later this week to try something else! Service was fine. The place is indeed unassuming with minimal decor insidd. You certainly don't go here for the ambiance, but on a Wednesday evening, there were plenty of people inside dining, though you can also get take out. Unfortunately they don't serve alcohol. But above all, the food was good.
Good food good price, nice staff
Loved the service and food!
Nice looking seating area. Only buffet for lunch. Average selection.
What a great meal! Food, service, and atmosphere all fantastic! This was my first time having Indian food and I was not disappointed! Especially the cheese naan bread! Mmmmmm!
Had the lamb vindaloo and chicken curry medium spicy. Curry was great and the Vindaloo was amazing.
Has a lot of room for improvement!
Always delicious!
Yummy food Excellent services
I love their food. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
Great food, service. We had biryani, nooddles, dal tadka, navrtna kurma, paneer chilli. Evrything was good. Most I liked was Nan and roti.
Ordered Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Coconut Curry and Rotis. Food was amazing!!! Totally worth the money! Visit this if you get a chance.
Best food in the area! Our family loves this place. Great friends,. Great food!
Being a truck driver, I always look at reviews for truck stops. Someone had mentioned this restaurant and we got excited. We love Indian food! We were not disappointed, excellent food! Everything was delicious, the kitchen knows what they're doing. Our waitress was amazing, we enjoyed talking to her and learning more about her and the history. So happy we have a new place to stop at when we drive through! Definitely recommend this restaurant. Until next time!
The place is quaint and the food is very good nice and mild to the person trying this genre of food. The taste food the food leaves you wanting more I would suggest this place to friends, family, and co-workers alike. If your up for a new and good food experience I would give this restaurant a try. The atmosphere seems like a relaxing and good place to have a good conversation with company.
I'm so impressed with the service they respect their clients the tables are clean, the food has amazing flavor not matter what you order. It is the best I've had in a very long time! I definitely will recommend you to try this place.
We eat here on a regular basis. We ALWAYS have great food and friendly service.
I could eat here three times a day for the rest of my life.
Best indian restaurant im from out of state.great taste great service. Home style cooking. If u like indian food please come here for the food.
Authentic. Delicious. Amazing service. You walk in and are surrounded by the most wonderfully fragrant, scrumptious aromas. Go. There. Now.
The food was great, had lamb that was tender and flavorful. Tryed goat for the first time and it was better then I had imagined . However the servive was less then par getting our order places felt like a second thought and the follow up was just as bad. Baised on that I woild second guess going back. I would of given 4 stars but the service brought it down.
This was literally the best Indian food I have ever had guaranteed and the customer service was great. Definitely check this place out. I promise you that it will not disappoint no matter what you get.
Best place .. beautiful people
Great place and great people, the food is awesome!
Food was very good, the meat seemed high quality.
It is delicious this food and the attention they give you is very beautiful I really recommend it
Such amazing food! Definitely get the tikka masala and garlic naan.
Great service, great food. Not as spicy from what I was expect from an Indian restaurant. I have eaten here for dinner, as well as lunch. The lunch buffet is a bit spicy, but my nose did not run from how low the spice was. My only criticism is how bright it is in there. Not very romantic. They also have the TV as background noise rather than music. Over all, would recommend, even to someone who is sensitive to spicy food. The portions are quite large as well.
One of my favorites, very good curry
Always a great place to eat, everything is made fresh to order.
What can I say? It's Indian food in the MOV and it's done really well. I eat here with regularity. Staff is very nice.
Amazing food and helpful, attentive staff.
I am an over the road truck driver. I always stop here . Great staff and fabulous staff
Amazing food! The service was so amazing it blew my mind. The best i ever had!!!
The only two places I get chicken curry from is Spicy Bite in Milan New Mexico and here because they know how they're cooking the food.
I dont really give 5. But this place was awesome. My wife does not like spicy. But the woman made to order what she wanted and no spice. It was all about us and them not making a profit. It was delicious. We will be certainly going back
Delicious authentic Indian food, and really nice friendly staff , I would like to visit again
We went for the lunch buffet and we were horribly disappointed. The food was extremely bland and / or watery and you only had a choice of 8 items plus salad which were constantly out.
Good place for lunch buffet! Love to see more varieties in the future.
Excellent customer service and food. Good amount of food for your money. Will eat there again.
This place is so good!! Very close to the airport which is convenient. Hard to find from the road but it's next to the hotel or can be accessed from the hotel. The staff is attentive and very friendly. The food is amazing and includes a wide variety of Indian food and curries. Highly recommend.
Excellent food, customer service to the top roof and always prompt to assist you with a smile as soon as you walking in and the best Lamb!!
very good food and great service! the restaurat is very clean and is great for family friendly. also very authentic food that has very good taste!
Every time I am in Marrietta I stop by! I am addicted to the Vegetable Pakor. It's even gluten free! And only $3.99. it's a must try!
I've been going to Star of India for years and was so excited when they moved out of downtown to an area more convenient for me and with much better parking! Might be harder to find for others but its worth it and right of the trax line. We really enjoy the excellent and friendly customer service. This is a family business and they make their customers feel like family too. They always know our drink order and have it at our table shortly after we walk in the door without even having to ask! The variety of buffet items changes all of the time so you can get something different every time you go in. I also enjoy that they have a lot of vegetarian offerings.
The worst chicken biryani you could ever have. They’re just using plain rice instead of basmati rice. And the taste is worst. Don’t waste your money on this
I enjoyed the food
Its a good food, not the best but is good. Chicken curry and nan. Cost for 2 people 45 dllrs.
Bland food.
Very delicious food and nice people !!! Every time I'm in town I'll b visiting this place... Love the music also
Great food and awesome staff.
best indian restaurant in Salt Lake city very nice people and tasty food
The biryani was plain and boring (felt like just curry mixed with rice and some chicken bits on top), which is something even a moderate restaurant gets right. Even the tea felt as if it was doused in masala, which was definitely surprising. Overall, the quality of the food felt very amateurish and certainly didn't match the price point.
Food is very flavorful and delicious. The service there is awesome and everything there is cooked just right. They also have a lunch buffet there which is coo. You will not be disappointed but you will walk away with a full stomach and a smile
This place does not deserve more than a star. Food was worse and service was pathetic. We went for the lunch buffet 09/25, buffet menu was depressing. No one was bothered to greet and attend customers. We were placed on a table without table cloth. My wife helped the waitress to put the table cloth, after few mins got the table mats and then another wait of 5 mins when water cups, cutlery and napkins were thrown to us. Lady herself mentioned that she has no time to roll the napkins and crockery. This is the only time when we got water after that no one refilled it or even asked for same. Hospitality was completely missing. As far as food is concerned, it was not at all tasty. Most of the preparations seemed left over from last day. Kadhi has no pakora, no daal in the buffet, veg starters - chills cheese bites which you get in every grocery store frozen section. Sweets were frozen too and cheapest one available in market. Ladoo’s were smelling and you can feel that it is coming out of freezer. Naan were tasting like peta breads. 13$ is not at all worth while for this place. Better I will buy frozen and microwave in my home. I would be done in 1/4 of the price. I suspect this place is in business because they are located Inside Ramada hotel so mainly hotel guest with no option will end up in this place. I would neither revisit or recommend this place to anyone. I really doubt the authenticity of the google reviews for this place.
Very nice is you do bowl meals.
The Star of India is an excellent restaurant and the owners are lovely people. It used to be in Vienna, WV. That closed and then they had the food truck and they now have the Marietta, OH. restaurant. They are vendors at the Multicultural festival every year and have a location in Athens, Ohio. I have been a patron at their restaurants for many years and the food has always been superb. Everything is excellently prepared and is simply delicious. I can't say enough good things about the restaurant and the people who own it. A1, all stars, all the way.
They are very friendly, and serve consistently excellent Indian Food. This is a favorite place for my wife and I to regularly enjoy a meal.
Absolutely fantastic! Staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, food was awesome, and atmosphere was calm and quiet. Our host/server made us feel like we were the most important people in the building.
The best Food of India. I came here with Mr. Lucky singh. Love it
Not very good option for non veg .. food was cold. Tandoor item was cold
There is a daily lunch buffet that is pretty good. Owners are very friendly.
It was one of the best Indian restaurants I have visited outside California in a whole . I came from San Francisco and I decided to give it a chance and to my surprise. It exceeded my expectations. The food was wonderful and customer service was excellent. I have visited this restaurant twice in two days. Great people great food and great environment.
Lovely food.
Seriously this is the very best Indian cuisine restaurant I ever had each and every item in the menu is so perfect and extra delicious i love to order every time I visit Salt Lake City
Amazing place. Excellent customer service. Great Great people!
This was different
Tasty eat-in or take-out. This place is a great find in Marietta.
When I am visiting relatives in Parkersburg/Marietta area I find time to visit this restaurant -- good food and lovely owners! I found them in Vienna first time and then was pleased when they have their restaurant in Marietta. Headed there again, and again, I'll visit. What a nice restaurant for the Mid-Ohio Valley area!
Excellent !!
Awesome place. Nice ambience. Great service
My wife and I love this place. Favorites are the meat samosas (plus the sauces served with it) and the Malai Kofta. YUM! The prep times can be longer than you expect, so go when you aren't in a rush.
You must eat here food and service is greatest in the area
Been a regular here for years! We eat here 1-3 times a month... Can't say enough great things! The vegetable samosa is always crispy and flavorful. The Naan is always spot on! We get garlic Naan. It's awesome! Chicken Pakora is fantastic. Their sweet sauce is a perfect match for it! The tandoori chicken, chicken Tikka masala, chicken jalfrazie... Are all delicious!! Finish with their rice pudding made from their basmati rice and that's a perfect feast! They are always so nice and friendly and you get a ton of food for what you pay. Highly recommend!!!
Super nice owner. Very friendly & welcoming. Food was good & priced very well. Very nice atmosphere & very nice set u!!!!!! Being a fun of Indian food I have Eaten twice up to now this place both times was great !!! Great food very friendly service and it’s brings original memories from India ! Best in town !!! Keep up the great work guys and thanks for the hospitality!! The owner makes the difference!!! Highly recommended
Wonderful food! A favorite for sure
Very authentic and love the breads.
Hi Indian food veary tasty and staff veary nice I like it
Love this place
First off I advise anyone that is going to eat here to call ahead and place your order at least 30 minutes before you arrive because you will be seated for a very, very long time because they cook every individual dish fresh when first ordered. They do not waste food and are amazing at conservation. They have amazingly incredible food. They do have a very long wait, from which I think they should have mentioned to our party before we were seated. I also think that they should bring appetizers and drinks while waiting for the food. The waitress did not seem very attentive to our party or to ask if we needed anything. She kept walking by us without any acknowledgement. It was very very rude!
Food is delicious. The atmosphere is a little dull. Needs some cleaning and shine. Feels a bit unorganized.
Poor service and food. Adding more details: The server didn't explained properly about the menu. specially the how much spicy it would be. She just mentioned all the spice levels. The curry was not spicy at all and on top of that was sweet. garlic naan had no garlic in it. Doesn't tasted like one. All together i was disappointed by the service and food.
Very nice food! Buffet is so good! I live locally and the staffs and the ladies who work up front are just amazing very sweet girls! The services and the food is very good and have vegan options and vegetation too... Love coming here
A great place to eat
The Star of India was an incredible find! You can order your food spicy or not(as I did). I truly wish I could give a higher rating than just 5 stars! My wife and I started with the hors d’oeuvres platter which was simply amazing! I then ordered the Fish Masala with a side of cheese naan bread. Our Hostess was very attentive and friendly making this just an enjoyable and amazingly affordable outing!
Very good food but pretty skimpy for paying almost $30 for two people.
At the crossroads of culture and candid living is a treasure befitting its name. The warmest and most sincere staff welcomed upon first step past the threshold. And as each of their knowledgeable staff enhance your experience with helpful descriptions and appropriate cautions, the thread of kindness weaves a tapestry of fun flavor and fulfillment. Thank you.
This is my favorite Indian restaurant across the US. My husband and I drive a semi. We've tried multiple Indian restaurants and this is by far the best. Anytime we have extra time in Salt Lake City we always stop here. I'm a little upset that my favorite server no longer works there, but nonetheless the food is always good and any server here is very nice.
With friendly customer service and delicious cuisine, Star of India was well worth the visit. We ordered a variety of dishes including chicken, lamb, and vegetarian offerings. All were very enjoyable. The naan bread was a little different from other Indian restaurants I've visited, having a slight yellow tinge to it which made me wonder if corn meal was used, still enjoyable. Star of India's Peshwari naan was also different from other places I've visited using shredded coconut and raisins instead of pistachio and cardamom. It wasn't nearly as sweet which made it more enjoyable for me. I left feeling very satisfied and hope to be able to come again.
Terrible Friday lunch buffet. Over-fried pakodas, soggy noodles, sub-par naans, and surprisingly bland curries and dals.
Star of India is one of the few places in the mid Ohio valley one can truly experience Indian cuisine. The food is amazing, atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff is extremely kind and welcoming!
Very nice staffs and delicious food. Very efficiently food was served.
Nice, flavourful Indian food with lots of vegetarian options. The staff was friendly, though the service was a little slow possibly due to memorial day holiday.
Amazing! My wife and I had their equivalent to butter chicken (Mahkti Chicken I think?) and another tomato based chicken curry. We showed up in the early afternoon after lunch and before the dinner rush, but they prepared the food fresh and hot for us. The naan was hot and delicious too, though a little different since I don't think they used a traditional oven to cook it (not sure). The staff were also great. Particularly, Param was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of. Give her a big tip! :)
Simple, never busy and always delicious!!
Best Indian food. Well receiving staff. Nice ambience. Spaciously placed. 5 on 5 for every dish i ate.
Food was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. We come here everytime we visit Salt Lake City.
We've eaten here twice and will certainly come again. Fantastic food and friendly service.
Absolutely fantastic! Great food and great service!
Amazing food! Avtar can make delicious food from mild up to melt your face off, and the prices are great along with big portions. Great place for families or business. I really can't say enough about this place. I love Star of India!
Delicious everything! Food, Chai tea, etc. all of it is so good!
Was there first time best service and food was very delicious will be back for sure when back in town give more stars if possible
Love the food & the owners
Great food and service. Would love to go back there. I am from new york and visited there with my friends and everyone liked the food. Service was great too.
I visited restaurant after buffet hours but waitress was extremely nice and allowed me to use buffet. Today ordered delivery of mixed tandoori. Very good meal. Not a big fan of their yellow naans (very buttery flavor) but overall great food and staff.
My favorite spot! The buffet rocks, the service is spot on for lunch and the price reflects the quality. 7 out of 5 stars!
Great food and the owner is the best.
First time there ,we ordered from the menu I have ate a lot of places in Pittsburgh and else where over the years and there food was the best we ever have had. The restaurant was clean and comfortable , when looking them up on line there are some interior pictures that maybe was from another place that was in Parkersburg that they ran at one time not sure. But it really was the bested vegetarian food we ever have had , they also have meat dishes
Very nice service and the food was delicious!
Best restaurant ever!!! Regardless of type. All their dishes are made from scratch not heated from pouches or pre prepared. Very big selection to choose from, reasonably priced, and the family that runs the restaurant is very friendly and warm welcoming to all their patrons. Doesn’t hurt that the servers are absolutely beautiful too..
This is probably my fifth visit in two months. I love this place! The Tikki Masala is the bomb!
Absolutely one of the better Indian buffets I've been to. Great food, fantastic service.
We just had dinner here this evening and what a pleasant surprise. The food was incredible. We had a lamb dish and a chicken dish as well as garlic nann and an appetizer ....and it was all wonderfully seasoned and delicious. The gentleman that served us was very attentive and helpful. I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. Highly recommended!
Great food Great service great people. Aloo ka Paratha and masala chai it was the best.
Best Indian food in Slc. The staff is awesome and always attentive. This is the kind of family owned and operated restaurant that wants you to come back. I have never had a bad experience here, which is why this is my go to place for Indian.
Just tried to have dinner here, we got ignored and left. Best food I never got to try.
Love this place! I've been eating here since the1990s when it was the only Indian restaurant in town. I moved to California a few years ago and finally made it back today at their new location. So nice to see that Avtar, Anoop and the rest of the crew are still serving such wonderful Indian food!
Best Indian restaurant in salt lake city best service and good food quality love this place so much will come back when ever I have chance
The food was amazing. The people were also amazing!
Love this place! Dining area is very clean and spacious. Buffet is awesome at lunch time very good quality food and super friendly service. Open on weekends too, love it! I'm going to have to start ordering more takeout.
Actually I really loved this place. I don't know how a 1 star review happened. Let me change it to 5. The food was absolutely delicious. My children and husband also loved it. We will definitely be back.
Excellent food, nice people, highly recommend the Mahkni Chicken, Vegetable Pakoras, Samosas.
Authentic Indian. You can't go wrong here.
Food was tasty, but just average. Service was slow, part of table order brought out way before the rest
Room was immaculate. Breakfast was plentiful but eggs & sausage were not hot. Vending machine in courtyard dispenses warm soda. All in all a good night's sleep is what I paid for and that's what I got. Warning. The free shuttle from the airport was an unmarked private vehicle. I was nervous about getting in.
Great restaurant to eat at, food is amazing and just love the owners!
Went 2 days in a row. Food was consistently good. If you like Indian food then this is the place.
Good spot to scratch an itch if you're craving Indian food. The lunch buffet is decent, with traditional staples (chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi, naan) and includes kheer and chain tea. Dinner is good too, especially yue Malai Kofta.
While it is the only Indian in the area it is also a fantastic restaurant. Great food. Clean dining area. Good service. And decent prices. The buffet is an absolute steal.
Gross don't do it! Staff was not clean! She needed a shower. She had a really bad body odor. It was dirty the carpet was wet and sticky I tried to stick it out but the food was just not appetizing.
Butter chicken was amazing. Wish the portions were bigger so I could have leftovers.
Nice Small restaurant. Food Tastes good, its a very old restaurant and does not have good ambience.
Okay ish food. But really good ambience.
The best Indian restaurant/food plus the cleanest. Greatest service ever..
Went for lunch and felt like eating a left over meal.
Star of India is a fine place to go. Excellent service and food. Beimg.my first time ever having Indian food, the host was kind enough to assist me with what to order and how to eat it traditionally.
We had an extremely enjoyable time! The service was friendly and top-of-the-line in my book. They took care of everything. The food was wonderful!! They were extremely helpful with the menu. I always get the same thing when I go but this time I got something different and it was amazing!!!
Worst place to have Indian food.
AMAZING!!! Best Indian food around!
Went here for the first time today and we are obsessed. The food was great, staff was very friendly and helpful, restaurant is sparkly clean and vibe is amazing. Definitely would recommend.
Great food! Haven't had a chance to check out the new location yet... Bit if the recipes are the same, it's worth the visit.
Love this place. Great Indian food. Great service
My
Your food veary tasty and staff veary nice I like it
No free meal here, even on your birthday but the scrumptious, savory, succulent dishes served with a smile are well worth a visit on any given day. Thanks Param, Rashmi, Māsī atē cācā.
Best Indian food in SLC area
Wonderful family run local restaurant t Excellent food, great staff who were attentive, readily available and helpful. The food was great and they had fruit too. Drinks were yummy and naan was hot.
Good service ! ok food !
Always great food and excellent service!
Our daughters recommended we eat here. We were very pleased with the food.
They are amazing. I loved their food. I recommend this place. Staff is amazing as well. Our waiter was very attentive and very helpful.
The best, truly.
Awesome food, awesome customer service. The service was quick and food was fresh. We stopped on the way when we were going out to New York from California but after tasteing the food we had to stop on coming back from New York to California. I would recomend to everyone who loves Indian food.
It's a great place to eat, the food isn't too spicy tho. It's great for "white people" taste buds. Food was great still.
Good place if you like a lot of curry.
Crave it sometimes!
Family owned, this place has so much charm! They are so patient, friendly, and approachable even with those who are not familiar with Indian cuisine. The food was so delicious! I would definitely recommend this place, and look forward to coming back next time we visit the area again. Thank you Star of India!
Service was a little slow but the food was great. Ordered the Chicken Vindaloo hot and it was a good heat. Garlic Naan was good as well
Good food, good service! Surprisingly good buffet, too.
This place is great I had my birthday dinner here! The food is absolutely amazing! Best Indian food I’ve ever had! Not to mension the wonderful service! On top of that they are family owned since the 1990s! Definitely check this place out! They have a buffet during lunch that is a great price and of course all you can eat! Worth it! I’m going to have my Birthday dinner again next year!
Never been
I'm from NYC and the prices were comparable to what I would pay at my neighboring Indian restaurant. We came on a Saturday evening for dinner and we were seated quickly. (It's inside the Ramada Inn.) We saw local patrons come to the establishment. My parents, brother, and I all thought that the food tasted delicious. The staff was attentive and gave us containers to pack up our leftovers.
One of my favorite spots :)
Lunch buffet until 2 p.m. is excellent
Best indian food best service and great food.
Best Indian restaurant in salt lake city best service and good food quality I'm impressed
Great customer services the girl working there were really nice and aloo paratha was delicious
Good for indian food in ohio. Definitely not the worst but definitely not the best. Good service though.
Absolutely amazing. Food is consistently delicious every time. Clean and inviting interior, and friendly staff make this a must stop for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala.
Awesome food ! If you never ate these types of dishes before , this would be a great place to start. I've visited the restaurant twice since I been in Utah. I truly had enjoyed my dinner each time I visited. Thanks for the great experience. It was all worth it.......Ms. E. McGriff
The buffet had a verity to choose from. Everything was really good. I liked the hot indian tea.
Absolutely amazing food and service. This is by far the best Indian food I have had yet! Everything we tried was amazing. They were very attentive and gave us all great recommendations. The restaurant is very clean and well taken care of. If you are looking for flavor, you must try this place.
30+ minutes after being seated by a very unhappy looking gentleman, we had to find a waitress and ask if we could have some water. When the water came 10-15 minutes later, we ordered. We then waited an additional 45+ minutes for our food to arrive. The waitress never stopped by even once to check on us during our visit. Anything we needed, we had to get up and find a waitress. There were only about 4 tables with customers when we arrived (including us) and appx. 8-10 tables with customers by the time we left. ALL tables in the restaurant were either served before us or within 10-15 minutes of their arrival. The food was ok, but definitely not great. Pretty bland, especially for Indian food. Not a good experience for my wife on mother's day. Very disappointing.
Friendly staff & seems sincere to their customers
Good Indian food, but they keep it cold in there!
Best food in town, customer service
the food is really tasty and good one of best indian restaurant
One of the best places for international cuisine in the MOV. Great lunch buffet and wonderful selection of dinner entrees. Friendly service. Highly recommended.
Good food and nice ambience
Small neat and clean looking. Did not like what I tried. The person with loved what they had and wants to back right away.
As with their Athens restaurant, the good folks in Marietta are rightly proud of their nicely prepared food..love the lunch buffet! Best $10 lunch in town!
Wonderful service and great food family owned and reminds of my home when i eat here!!! i would recommend anyone who wants to come and eat here
Had the channa masala, sweet lassi and beef filled naan. The naan was a little oily but good. Not too spicy. Channa masala was decent. The Sweet lassi was delicious. Would ask for more
Gluten and Dairy free options (just ask your server to help you out with what is safe for you to eat) Rashmi, our server, was an absolute delight. The food was absolutely amazing. The Vindaloo was one of the best I have ever tried. If you are in the Salt Lake area this restaurant is a MUST.
I have never eat such worst food in my life. Restaurant owner need to explore more to understand what’s Indian Biryani and Naan. Biryani was tasteless. Naan was just like paratha. Chicken gravy was good. Just I wasted my money by following Google’s 700+ reviews. Now after tasting the food, I am sure that Google review is a fake one.
Parking lot is on the side or street. Other than that it is typical indian cuisine.
Delicious food. Comfortable and casual atmosphere.
The naan was really really dry, the samosas were ok, kind of dry too, but the coconut chicken curry was good
If a restaurant has no business there is a reason.
The staff here are so kind and helpful, and the lunch buffet was a great price with really amazing Indian food. I made sure with the hostess which items were gluten free, and she was super helpful and specific about what each dish had in it. I couldn't pronounce most of the dishes, but I tried everything and loved all of it. Nothing was too spicy that I tried, but I'm sure they have the option of adding spices if that's what you like.
Fantastc food and service. Very friendly and service-minded staff. Lovely atmosphere. A delicate restaurant.Always enjoy the spicy hot sauce.loved it.....*****
The food here is really tasty. I will continue to eat here every time I come through SLC.
Had the buffet and it was pretty good. Loved the tandoor chicken.
Tasteless indian food, extremely diappointed with every dish offered on the buffet. I have never been to an Indian restaurant that had salt and pepper on the tables, it's there for a reason!
A place in Mariatta, Ohio, US where you will get a tasty North Indian food at affordable price.
The food is great! The service is awesome. We enjoy the food, sometimes we are not to sure what to order and the staff take their time to make sure we have something great and We love it.we go there twice in a week we always dine in and pick up food .
Great portion and the quality is outstanding
Sumptuous food on offer from the Northern part of India..however, the service is a bit slow, hence, it is recommended that you keep in mind to order ahead and all at once!! Overall the taste of the food was great. Although the variety of deserts available is quite limited!
Great food, very friendly service. The salmon masala was a favorite, it tasted great. The goat was well cooked, but the curry didn't speak to us as much. The food took a while to come out even on a Saturday noon with very few customers.
I had been waiting long to write review of this place. It has become my new favourite and next time i am in SLC i will never miss buffet from here. Its rare to find awesome finger licking delicious rich vegetarian food. I enjoyed every bit of it. Pretty good number of dishes. Bindi was my favorite and bread was too good. French fries were crispy and tasty. Oh i loved the kheer. My tummy fell short of place to fit in more food.
Delicious! Best Indian buffet by far. Parking can be tricky but it's worth it.
Staff are very courteous, food is very fresh, they try to keep the buffet spice level low for everyone to enjoy. One of the best Indian food buffets i have tried. Well worth it!, nothing canned or frozen here!
Great food, great atmosphere and great people
I was somewhat disappointed by the dishes offered. In spite of many high ratings and recommendations from friends; I thought their food lacked authenticity.
Slow service but great food.
Great service and great food!!! Awesome place homemade food!
One of the best Indian restaurant in the Salt Lake City. Food is tasty. Menu items are reasonably priced. I would repeat.
Good food. Decent serving size.
I have no idea what everyone one here is talking about. Enless me and my wife got the worst stuff to try it was horrible! I always finish what I pay for and couldnt. Wife lost her appetite by the looks of the food. Can't blame her mine looked like diarrhea. So nothing was good except the Indian tea. Service was good and the restaurant was clean. That's it....
Best food and good service friendly staff
We really like there food also they have best customer service ever an food is really delicious we love it
The food was great and the service was lovely. Everyone who helped us was kind and cheerful. They even let us bring our (rather large, but well- behaved) dog in and asked what they could bring her.
Great buffet for your favorite indian dishes. Great taste and reasonably priced.
We stopped here for lunch of our way back home from Yellowstone NP. I would highly recommend Star of India for a good authentic India restaurant. We ordered few veg and few non vegetarian dishes , and everything was above our expectations (food taste and service). We didn't get a chance to try the buffet, but I am sure that is good too. Hopefully we get another chance to try the good foo here in future.
Always excellence!@!!
Wonderful food, very considerate staff and excellent, speedy service
pros: tikka masala was pretty good cons: mango lassi didn't seem like it had any yogurt, very watery ordered garlic naan received regular charged $3 extra (presumably from the garlic naan I didn't receive)
Great place. Family run . Great chef and atmosphere. They have lunch buffet or menu. Does take out as well. Very reasonably priced
Best chicken tikka masala I've ever had
We had our dinner there last night and the food was amazing especially the bread. Not only did we enjoy our meal, the staff was very friendly. Clean place too! My family and I will be definitely going again. :)
Star of India is the go-to place in the Mid-Ohio Valley for quality Indian foods. The curry tastes very fresh and is authentic. The naan is very good as well and is a nice complement to the curry and other dishes. The servers are very kind. The style of the building fits the cuisine and culture of the restaurant very nicely. It is one of the best restaurants in the Mid-Ohio Valley and is definitely worth visiting for anyone in the area or residents of the Mid-Ohio Valley region of Ohio and West Virginia.
Had dal makahi and cold reheated nan .... This is definitely not a 4.5 star review restaurant.
Excellent and authentic. The lunch buffet is quick and healthy at a fair value. Ask for a chi tea!
Honestly some of the best lamb I have ever had, we will definitely be returning.
Still the best Indian Restaurant after 20 years. When the Star of India moved about 15 years ago, I thought they had closed. Rather, they had just moved. I ordered my favorites from 15 years ago: the spicy wafer Papad, Lamb Saagwala, and a mango Lassi. The food was fresh, distinctive, and carefully prepared just as I had remembered. I am looking forward to exploring their other specialties.
Great food and service. Would love to go back there. I am from california and visited there with my family and everyone liked the food. Service was great too.
Poor service. Even in India Hotel management is better than this restaurant.
