This Restaurant corresponds to the category of American restaurant.
The food was terrible. The onion rings were burnt and the burger fell apart in my hands. The only good thing was the French fries they were nice and hot.
I am definitely going back for more I in the food and service here Love it I didn't get to try the shrimp Basket cause they were waiting for the truck to bring them but I tried 7 or 8 different items that they have and all was delicious
Great homemade food and pies.
Great food, interesting place in the center of town, and presidents have even been here, stop and eat, you will love it.
Very good home cooked food,"burgers" selection of pies and blue plate specials
Nice people and good food
Love the authentic retro furnishings, the old-timey placemats, and ESPECIALLY the food! The staff is so friendly--they'll make you feel like family! The relaxed atmosphere is evident even in how the customers will strike up a conversation with a total stranger. If you long for the days of sitting in your grandmother's kitchen and lingering over a home-cooked meal, you'll love this place!
Fabulous old timey 50's type diner. Tasty burgers, soups, and pies. Reasonable price. Adequate portions.
I love the food always taste great
A Sidney institution...love eating there.. great burgers, onion rings, chili, strawberry pie. I love the Spot.
Best soda shop expierience around burger with the works with choice meat deliciuos
Good home cooking
Get the strawberry pie.
What a strange, beguiling piece of Americana. It kind of personifies Ohiowa.
The shake drink is actually a large portion of homemade ice cream. Good taste but not what I expected.
I found out about this place because there was a picture of it on an Ohio calendar I have. A friend of mine just moved to Sidney, so we decided to give it a try. We both had the banana cream pie, and it was good. The breaded tenderloin was fantastic and the onion rings were good. This is a classic diner with diner food. It's a historical, fun restaurant. If you are in Sidney, try it out!
It had a nice older atmosphere and catered to a large variety of people. The wait was short, the food was delicious, and it was just a nice, quick place to stop with your family for lunch. Also, there were newspapers from decades passed along the walls so it was just nice to be able to see how much of an integral part of the town this place was.
It was like a throw back to the 50s, food was good pie was good. The chocolate malt was the tops, cherry on the Sunday, shining sta egg. Whatever your saying is the malt is the best of the best.
Real good food
Good food at a fair price service was good also nice place to that the family
Went here for a murder mystery dinner. I had never been to something like this before so I did not know what to expect... It was amazing! Great food, amazing service, and the show was very entertaining! I highly recommend doing this if you can! After the show, we went to the patio and listened to live music while enjoying some drinks and snacks. Again, the food and service were great! I highly recommend this place.
It was great , Enjoyed it very much
Heard a lot of good things about this place but personally I wasn't impressed. Just another diner to me, food wasn't bad but it definitely did not live up to the hype
Best burgers around. Old school feel. Home town atmosphere. The old time malt shop.
Got home and realized they forgot my tenderloin. Oops not like you guys. Got a free piece of pie but when I got back home all my sides were cold.
Not what I thought it to be. But a step back to a '60's Diner.
A good relaxing classic atmosphere hamburgers are great and the pies are out of this world especially that pecan pie. Overall are really nice spot in a corner.
Our meal was made in a timely fashion and made by the great young generation of the future. Clean friendly and best of all a home town restraunt for the entire family
Classic Americana. Grab a Big Buy and pecan pie.
Love this little back in the day place.
Pie was amazing! French fries crunchy. Burgers ok and not the cleanest place. Atmosphere friendly
Good food, quick service, and prices no higher than anywhere else. Fun little "spot". If you're ever headed through Sidney, I recommend it.
Great little diner in a small town. Would definitely recommend for a burger and fries.
The food was good. Service was fast and friendly. I thought the menu was a little high priced.
Love their food! Great service!
The big buy was great and it wasn't expensive, love these old school burger joints not many left
Love this place and food is wonderful
The Spot is a great burger joint if you are visiting Sidney Ohio. On any given day there are tables of people chatting and enjoying a burger from this local landmark. The food is served up hot and fast by a friendly staff ready to help with anything you need. The Spot is very kid friendly.
Step back in time great food fast service and has car hop
Great pies and sandwiches!
I absolutely love going to the Spot...it was such an unforgettable hang out when we were teens. Such memories. The food is great, some not like it used to be. I miss some of the pies, i.e. pecan very dry today, but the old fashioned cream pie was delicious. Last visit, it was just the opposite.
Best sugar cream pie anywhere....can't find a better burger than here for sure!
The spot is a taste of my childhood. Got to have a piece of old-fashioned cream pie for dessert
People from Ohio have no taste in food if they think this is good food because it's not. I got the buffalo burger and it was dry and had no flavor at all Everyone I was eating with disliked their food as well. Don't waste your time and money eating here. You will get a much better meal if you go the Wendy's down the street.
Food and service was good.
Very good place to enjoy a meal which is very very good
Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Decent price
Great down home spot! Breakfast was good and reasonably priced!
Great food and great atmosphere
Great food and pies! Catering for events is also available so if you don't have time to make a tasty dish to take you can call before your event and they will do the work for you! Have saved our family on many occasions over the years!
Better then fast food hamburgers! Fresh ground beef and I think its locally sourced. You can pull in under a port and order from your car and their pretty fast bringing to your car! Cool 1950s vibe inside if you want to dine in! Its not gourmet burgers but they are pretty darn tasty!!!
A hometown favorite. Clean. Cool. Friendly. Good food.
In a recently published list of 50 Best Diners in America, THIS little gem was Ohio's representative. GW Bush was there and pics/signs commemorate his visit. Right downtown Sidney near the classic Ohio County Courthouse. Very cool spot (pun intended); it is indeed THE Spot. You won't find grilled salmon there, but the diner food is very tasty.
When I’m in Sidney this is my favorite place in town to get a bite to eat. Great burgers, and the pies are fantastic! It has a nice retro feel inside with the decor. Nice selection of sandwich’s and relatively inexpensive. My gosh Presidents have ate here, so next time your in Sidney, check it out!
Pies are the best.. take care of my friends in court,Mrs Butterfield, Judge G., clerk
Fantastic food. Great service. If you like diners, you will love this one.
This is a classic restaurant. The old fashioned cream pie is the best
Good food and people thanks
This is a great place for classic American food. Great burgers and fries...love the potato salad. Good iced tea too. We stop at The Spot any time we are near Sidney. Not much parking but it is handicapped accessible.
Good deals. Very American and down home feel. A bit greasy for me but I think that might be a positive for many people
One of a kind! Great tenderloins!
Hands down the best pie in America.
Absolutely one of the worst breaded tenderloins and onion rings I've ever had. So many people built this place up, but it surely wasn't because of the fried food?
The reason you would come here is atmosphere and food. Both are amazing. The prices are decent and the service is good.
Loved the spot like going back in time great food
Great burgers and onion rings. Take some pie home with you!
Love trying these nostalgic little places as we travel across the country. This one ranks near the bottom. What they call a thick malt is just a cup of soft imitation ice cream. Do not recommend!
The food was alright, but definitely not the best. My parents and I stopped through and thought it'd be a nice small town place and it was cute, but food didn't meet expectations. Must've been great at one time though considering the amount of photos the have with former President Bush. The girl who took our order seemed like she really didn't really want to be there. We all got their chili which was good, but more soupy than anything however my dad still loved it. He ordered no lettuce or anything on his sandwich because he can't eat it and got it anyways which I'll admit can happen anywhere. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and even my husband that night who I had try it wasn't very pleased, it wasn't the best. Maybe we just went on a bad night, maybe it's always like this, but I'll probably won't be coming back out of choice.
Food is awesome and the president Bush came to eat here. But food is delicious
It's a landmark here in Sidney. The place take you back to the 1950's, a time that's very near and dear to my heart. The food there is great, they have awesome burgers and great pies and ice cream, the malts are my favorite. If you ever find yourself n Sidney and enjoy old fashioned restaurants, stop in you'll enjoy it.
They stopped breakfast before the posted time and I went elsewhere.
Only been here once. Typical diner with lots of photos of famous guest. Food was good, had the pork tenderloin sandwich. It was big and tasty. Also enjoyed the pecan pie. Worth the time to visit.
Great food and fun place to visit!
One of the best restaurants I have ever been too keep up the good work guys
The best tenderloin ive ever had. It's no wonder its voted best berger joint in Ohio!
Sadly has seen better days.
Fresh hot food...great service with a smile and just a a very comfortable and pleasant visit
All around great food and service
Good burgers and pie
Love you can pull up and they bring it right out for you good and hot
The food was delicious, even though they got it wrong. Could’ve been the Doordashers fault though. I ask for mayo, not mustard. I asked for cole slaw, not salad. I was supposed to get a slice of pie, but didn’t. I will order again if I’m in the area because it was tasty, hopefully they get it right this time though.
Its always a great place to be on day shift its great
A nice down home place to go. Our favorite place to get breakfast. The staff is always so nice and helpful. The food is good too.
Love eating at The Spot. Recently I picked up a rhubarb pie to take to a luncheon at the Senior Center. It was the best rhubarb pie. The sweetness of the sugar with the tartness of the rhubarb of "spot" on.
First time stopping at this legendary diner. The homemade sugar cream pie is rightfully part of that legend
Had a great Combo #4 breaded which was a chicken sandwich with lettuce and mayonnaise and a side of fries as well as a medium drink (Coca-Cola) the fountain drinks were very fresh and well carbonated. — However, my friend had a bowl of vegetable soup and found some hair in it! I didn’t notice any hairnets being worn.
Fun eating with Rob Lowe!
Slower service but great food
Great food and people
Food is great. Think prices are getting a little high though.
It was very good and the service was quick and courteous
Good place to eat.
The Spot is your classic American downtown diner. The food is basic (burgers, hot dogs, fries, etc) but typically very good. The prices are reasonable and the service fast. Locally, they are especially well known for their awesome pies.
Always good
This Is My Hometown restaurant. This has been a Historic Landmark since the twenties, two presidents have visited this small town restaurant because of its age and it's great food. Stop in for chili, great burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, and pumpkin pie with or without that yicky stuff on top.
Fun to see, been visited by a president however, food was nothing special.
Most of the reviews are pretty good, so I was disappointed that my cheeseburger was not warm, the bun was cold and the cheese was as cold and stiff as a cadaver. The atmosphere was really nice, the folks at the other tables very friendy, and the diner look was fun. Maybe Mondays before the regular lunch hour is a bad time to show up. I hope others do better there, my visit was not encouraging.
Food is always good
I have very bad social anxiety but a friend talked me into going. Clean tables etc friendly staff and great food if I could I’d rate a 10. Haven’t felt that relaxed in a public restaurant in years. Great atmosphere as well.
Mom and pop style loved it
This is an icon. There are not many great places left like this anymore. Come and experience the awesomeness of this place. President Bush did. Remember, fat is flavor.
Great food and service. Haven't had anything there I didn't like and if you like pork tenderloin sandwiches try one here they are huge and good. Also their fried mushrooms are so delicious. Their hamburgers are great as well.
Great sandwiches and the pie is fabulous.
Wife loves the old fashioned pie.
I went in... sat in the booth... Set there 15 minutes... Nobody came around to take my order...? I don't think anybody knew I was there... I guess they have to be in the mood.
Best place in town for good food. The dine in atmosphere is great. One place I'm not ashamed to bring an out of town guest or family member for dining out.
I used to go to this place as a kid but I went here recently with my family.... It used to be cheap food but now it's not. I wouldnt recommend it for a group of 5 unless your looking to spend $39 on burgers. Just the burgers alone were going from $4 to $6 and that's without fries and a drink. With fries and a drink it added about $2 more. Combos are $6 each. I would recommend it for a group of two people but no more than that.
Everything is good. The people are great. The vintage diner atmosphere is cool.
Great food great price quick service
Awesome as always!! Good food good prices. A win win
Old school feel, but the best burgers I've ever ate ,a must try ☺
Oh love the Spot!! It is hometown favorite. I grew up in Sidney . So whenever we are driving through always stop by the Spot.
Great food and old school feel
Great. Home made food for a good price. Not overly expensive.
Icon standing the test of time. Spot has been visited by president Bush and now serves a presidential burger. Amazing tarditional food and service.
Absolutely the best pies. I travel from Michigan twice a year to grab some for the family.
Awesome staff and food, they go above and beyond to help you
Revisited home and childhood memories of the 50's, 60's and 70's. Great burgers and the best old fashion cream pie...
It's a good place to eat
I wouldn’t recommend eating here , the workers and most of the people who eat here , do not look clean. The place is super slummy
The spots has good food and my favorites are Tenderloins sandwich and Old Fashion Cream Pie and Strawberry pie and Pecan pie are all very good homemade pies and their hamburgers are awesome too cause their made from fresh hamburger meat so go try the Spot
Great old fashion food! All very good no matter what you order
Love the burgers, fries and pies. Always fresh food.
Good fast food. Burgers, onion rings etc... They are known for their pies and they are very good. I had the banana cream and I recommend it.
Great buffalo burger, onion rings and a chocolate malt. Good eating in the neighborhood!
A great downtown restaurant in the historical Sidney Ohio. So many different options on the menu for food items they have burgers wraps grilled cheese they have fish options they have the best onion rings and of course don't forget to grab your slice of pie to go with your meal
Mmm...Mmm good!!
Good food, friendly staff and fast service.
Been luv n the big buy for 30 years now.
I had brended tenderloin it tasted overcooked and fountain drinks tasted funny also cookware wasnt clean and parts of ceiling have fell out but fries were good would not recommend
The food is DELICIOUS! When I am near Sidney, I always want to stop by! The malts are great for dipping fries in, and the burgers are delicious. This is a great place for the whole family to relive the 1950s with a classic dining style. I recommend stopping by here if you are passing by on I-75
Great little place to eat. Small town diner.
I did not enjoy this place at all. My food was lacking in flavor. Appeared most menu items were greasy and deep fried.
Cool small-town diner with great burgers.
Always good. What I grew up with. Not many restaurants like this
Never got our breakfast potatoes with our order. We both got breakfast and ordering breakfast at 930/10 am seemed like a hassle for them.
Old fashion burger joint that is over 100 years old! Great burgers (they make to your exact specification) and known for their pies...love the old fashioned cream pie and pecan pie. Also really like their onion rings.
One of my favorite places to eat
