Good Papusas. Large order of plantains. Older dining room, could use a sprucing up. Service prompt. A little language barrier trying to get advice, but brought everything as ordered...just not all at once. Prep time indicative that everything must be made to order. Come early for fresh so huh p of the day. Was gone before 6 pm
Food was great! Service was good. My whole experience was good. They made my night special for me.
So good!! Tongue was excellent!!
I WILL ALWAYS COME BACK HERE BEST LITTLE PLACE EVER! I had my first pupusa here, I will have my last pupusa here.
I don't recommend this place to anyone. Service is lacking customer service and the food is lacking everything from taste to an appropriate price. Don't order drinks because they will give you disgusting tasting refreshments from both the bar and their soda fountain. I order a Pina Colada, you could taste the syrups they used to make it no juice just low-fat milk and syrup. It was see through! You would receive better service and food at you're closest McDonalds.
If you haven't had papusa, you have to give it a try. There's food for everyone, plenty of vegetarian options, too. It's slow food, so if you're in a hurry this isn't your quick lunch stop. Still, the food is worth it.
Wonderful place to eat.best pupusas in Ohio.
Everything
Delicious, authentic food, and friendly service!
The food here is absolutely incredible. Not a big menu but it's very authentic and everything is delicious.
Love it
Quaint, cheap and good food
Great food! We'll definitely go back.
Great food. Quiet atmosphere.
Delicious and economical!
Excellent
First time here and the waiter took time to explain everything. Food was fantastic!!
My only regret is that I came here alone. It would have been nice to try many different dishes! You can really fill up for little money with the pupusa. I came in on a Saturday evening around 6pm. It was mildly busy but they were anticipating a large party so the hostess/server seemed a little distracted when I arrived. The menu looked intriguing but I asked my server to order for me and she chose an assortment of three pupusas. I could only finish two and a half but they were delicious. I would give it 4.5 stars if possible just because the service could have been better with more of an explanation of the menu.
Wait too long for your food to come out it seems to be short on staff also
(Translated by Google) Very good attention and super delicious food I invite you to stop by this place (Original) Muy buena atención y la comida súper deliciosa les invito que se pasen por este lugar
incredible place - great food at a great price! Try the plantains with sour cream and refried beans - delicious!
Ayyyy !!! BEST PLACE IN OHIO
Best pupuserias in the Cleveland area. May be a hole in the wall but the food make up for any shortcomings.
Daisy is amazingly hospitable and the food is homemade and it touches my soul.... great food!!
Pupusas were ok
Delicious food and wonderful atmosphere! Love this place.

Good tasting authentic food but such a shame cause the service was horrible! Waitress was unattentive, we had to chase her down for drink refills & the food took forever! Will never go there again.
La mejores pupusas de Cleveland!!
Warm Victoria minus futbol. 1hour for food to arrive ohhhh my goodness. Iam the 1st person to notice warm beer bitter lettuce like taste rusty. ahhh and and the rice was cold and spoiled. Wow wow really. Very disappointed #sadface
Food is worth the wait.
Good food and chill vibes. My very Indian parents were into the tostones and homemade sourcream. I really liked the coleslaw that came with the pupusas
Very authentic pupusas so yummy worth my 40 minutes drive!....
(Translated by Google) Delicious pupusas. We loved the parrot ones. (Original) Pupusas deliciosas. Las de loroco nos encantaron.
Don't be fooled by the outside. Inside awaits deliciousness. Along with being affordable. Everything is made fresh and the wait is worth it! I ordered three pupusas one chicken, pork, and cheese. They were all amazing!

My son & i tried this place on a whim. Now that we know where it is, will definitely be back. Good food, decent prices, friendly service willing to explain items new to us. And they have horchata and lengua, 2 of my favorite things. Heading west on Granger, look for a BLUE stucco-style building on the left.
The pupusas!!!!
Delicious and authentic. Will be back soon!
Have come here for lunch several times. Great food. Fast service. I like the papusa loco and fried plantains.
Years ago, I worked for a Central American refugee organization in Phoenix. It was there that I was introduced to papusas. Ever since then, I would seek out El Salvadorian restaurants. Pupuseria Katarina has the best, most varied selection. It's a gem. My favorite was the garlic ones.
Good service, good food, large servings, fair price
So much cheese. Really cool hole in the wall kind of place!
Went for the first time tonight, after looking forward to it for weeks. The food was delicious, especially the fried plantains, and the jalapeño pupusa! The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed the atmosphere ^.^
Authentic Central American/Salvadoran food, especially the pupusas. The chicharon were overcooked compared to Rincon Criollo. Don't come here expecting standard Mexican dishes like burritos and tacos.
Pupusa for LIFE
Fantastic! Tried it on a whim and it was great. I'll be back!
Attempted to sit down to eat tonight and seated but never acknowledged by a server for 10 minutes. With no one else seated in the restaurant we assumed service would be better but it wasn't. Workers were walking all around as far as the bartender and other people tending to sound equipment but again we were ignored. We had looked forward to eating there but now will never return. We called to voice our displeasure and were told that they were sorry and every one was in the kitchen cleaning which really shouldn't be an excuse.
Great pupusas here!!! Loved it. Felt like we were back in El Salvador.
Excellent food!
Fabulous restaurant. I can't wait to go back.
The food was delicious.
Best chicarrones I've ever had. Pupusas are great. Horchata is very tasty. Takes a while to get your order, but I think that it's absolutely worth it.
So good love this place would like to eat at all times service was good if you are trying something different and delicious pupusas is the best
Food was great but the service was ehh!!
Excellent and authentic food at a great price. Breakfasts are served all day and are a great counter to the pupusas.
I think this place is closed. Went to order but the phone is not working. OUT OF BUSINESS!
Delicious! No frills nonsense just delicious
The food is amazingly, amazingly good, and a great value. I had never had pupusas before, and now I'm hooked. What flavor! We have not had the issues with service of which another reviewer complained. Indeed, the service has been very loving and attentive, and the family clearly takes pride in their home country of El Salvador's cuisine. And what cuisine! You can get a lot of delicious food for a very low price. They do need to ensure that all of the information on the web (address, hours, etc.) is consistent with actual practice.
Very good food nice host, and music THE pupusas are delicious, the fish I had was well cooked.
Great food. Always tasty, super flavorful and hot!
So good! Will definitely be back
Freaking Amazing! Papusa Loroco, Yucca, house made cheese....all fabulous. I can't recommend it more. I wish my stomach was bigger!
Great prices and great food - ordered the Loco Pupusa and will order it again. Brought home almost half bc the serving was so big.
Pupusas are great here and the price is perfect!
Delicious and filling food, friendly service. We will be back.
Lot of food for the price. Will go again.
Amazing! Rice, beans, and pupusa
Food taste was good but the chicken we ordered felt like old
Great prices stick to pupusas
Great food! I'm not able to speak to the authenticity, but the food was different than anything else in the area, and tasty! Friendly service, too. We will be back!
El mejor en comida salvadorena. Tiene que probar la popusa loca. Buen servicio
Food was delicious !
Best pupusas in Cleveland
Very nice place, food is eccellant.
love the food and great services
Looks decieve! Pupuseria is very good. I had the steak with onions (loved the tomato sauce!) And shared two pupusas (chicken and pork) with my fiance. Had the Jamaica hibiscus tea to drink, very light and flavorful. Would come here again! Update 03/03/19- Updating to 5 stars. :)
Great delicious Salvadorian food! And in a very accessible location.
The food was excellent and quite filling, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because we did have wait for our meal, but we will definitely go again.
Visited Cleveland area and had some pupusas and fried fish. The fish tasted really fresh and delicious. I will definitely return again on my next visit to Cleveland.
I was iffy on checking this place outt. I couldnt find the door for ten minutes. The food is amazing. La comida es muy muy bueno y fresca
This place is AMAZBALLS!! It's the real deal Holyfield! You should know upfront that the place looks sketchy as hell. Yes, there are no windows. Yes, it's on a stretch of Brookpark road that you would otherwise avoid or hope you don't break down on. Yes, I believe the Hostel movies got there idea from this building. However, the food and service are worth getting over your fears so you can enjoy the amazingness that is Pupuseria Katarina. I'm pretty sure the reason the windows are bricked up is so you can't see the magic they use to make their food cause god damn the plantanes are the best I've ever had!! If you read this and don't go, you're what's wrong with America and I blame you personally if this place ever closes! ...and I hope you get syphilis.
Pupusas was delicious, as for the steak dinner, it was awful. It tasted like fish... I do not recommend this place...
First time I had pupusas and they are delicious! Made fresh to order with a variety of fillings. My favorite so far is the jalapeno.
Best tacos n pupusas rebueltas need better service
Always great flavorful food and different delicious drinks!
Great! Had a drink that tasted like a teddy graham cracker.
Good food
Great food
Honestly the food is amazing and dirt cheap. However their unprofessionalism has reached a point where its not even worth it. Everytime i get a to go order it takes 10 mins longer than the the 20 mins they claim it will take. Then you get there and you can't even find one of their workers half the time. They constantly treat people very rudely especially the middle aged man. Finally online it claims they open at 10 am, their menu claims they open at 11am. I call in at 11:20 and the guy tries to pull off that they open at 12.
Stopped in once for lunch..had so much food I got three meals out of the left overs. Yum!
Such great food!
The food is out of this world and shockingly affordable.
Excellent food and seevice!
(Translated by Google) Very good pupusas, those of suquini are super excellent. (Original) Muy buenas pupusas, las de suquini son super exelentes.
I just got back from El Salvador and wanted more pupusas. Everything felt authentic including the "slow" service. Pupusas take 30 minutes to make so either call ahead and order or sit and talk with the people you are with. I will definitely be back...often!!
Es un buen restaurante para hir contoda la familia o con amigos muy buena atención muy limpio y ordenado y los savados hacen bayles y carioqui muy buena musica y las bebidas bien frias se los recomiendo
Love this place..great people and best food ever ;) they always make u feel welcome and at home
This place (and the family/owners) are awesome. Fresh, delicious, substantial meals. I always want to try everything on the menu, but the pupusas are so good that I can never pass on them. So many choices and we've never had a bad experience. It's more than generous for the price you pay, too.
Dis place is da Salvadoran bombaaa!!!
Very
Fabulous!
great food. try the flan
Amazing food..jr was my waiter he was great..highly recomend you try this place..worth the trip from akron
Good food. I like the different types of papusas they offer. I got a spinach one, which was quite tasty. Didn't notice a difference with the rice flour, recommend sticking with corn flour
Pupusas are my favorite cult food (so good and SO cheap), so I'm reluctant to spread the word about how excellent they are. Once everybody knows about them, they won't be cheap anymore. But Pupuseria Katarina deserves the praise. Not only do they have an extensive menu of pupusas, but tons of other delicacies on the menu. Here's what you want to drink: horchata (it tastes like spicier chocolate milk, so you won't be missing out by not ordering sugar drinks or boring water). And make sure to not neglect the spicy slaw that arrives with each meal. 2 pupusas and the slaw was pretty much a full meal for me, but there's a 3 pupusa tier for very famished diners.
If you have never had the Salvadoran staple that is the pupusa, you have truly missed out. Pupuseria Katarina is our go to whether it's the classic pork beans and cheese, jalapeno, spinach, or cilantro. Plantains and sour cream are a must!
Great great food! Don't get a margarita, not worth it.
I've been here twice. First time was on a very busy Friday night. Service was fast and friendly. It was a group of 6 so there was A LOT of food. Everything tasted great and was served hot. My friends loved the drinks. Second time around was a Wednesday evening. The place was empty. Service again was friendly. The food was good, not as good as the first time, but still good. The pupusas were divine as always (we ordered Pork and Mixed.) Complaint: The whole fried fish was salted unevenly, the refried beans and steak were salty, and steak tacos were served cold.
Great prices! Enough to share.
Just one waitress????
Never had Pupusas before but I know I'll be a repeat customer here. To anyone reading this though, pupusas can be very filling and I'd recommend only getting 2-3 if you're wanting to get stuffed off of them. The staff is very friendly. The menu itself has very affordable prices and the quality is way above what you'd expect out of the exterior appearance. Be sure to try one of their El Salvadorian drinks!
Place was closed when it said it would be open
STOP reading and go here! Authentic Salvadorian food. We were passing through town and came across Pupuseria Katarina and had to stop. Equally as good to anything we had in El Salvador
(Translated by Google) Good place with ample parking (Original) Buen lugar con amplio estacionamiento
Great food, great service, good prices, and good music. Easy to find. It's a clean restaurant, waiter was very nice and answered all my questions. I felt right at home. Vengan a comer aqui!
Great food, fast service and friendly family atmosphere
This food was really good it just took forever to come to us.
Great food.
DELICIOUS GREAT FOOD N STAFF
This place is amazing! Hole in the wall, great drinks better food, prices are hard to beat. Can't believe this place isn't more popular! Had the Garlic and chicken pupusas, both were delicious, can't wait to come back to try more of their 11 different varieties!
Amazing food, I love this place
Great food, friendly staff. Wonderfully diverse selection of Pupusas, delicious food!
Food was great! Service was excellent! Real authentic Latin meal! I only wish my wife and I came on one of the days where they have the live bands or karaoke! Would've been a great time!
Pupusas I love it
Delicious, authentic food. Love this place!
Fantastic food. The plantation and tostones are amazing
I wouldn't know how this place is, seeing as how I was never even served there. I went there on Sunday, May 26th. The place was open, so I went inside. I stood at the podium waiting to be seated for five minutes, and nobody ever approached me. There was a large family gathering, a couple of men, and a single guy playing on his phone seated at some of the tables do plenty of available seating. Not super important as I was hoping to order for take-out, but said to show that staff was not too busy to notice a customer waiting to be served. I looked around, called out several times to ask if anyone was working there and could please help me. Nothing, no response, no employees visible, nada. So I left, perhaps never to return. If they want to have paying customers coming into their restaurant, then maybe they should actually make an effort to serve those who come through the door of the establishment.
Great food!!! Portions are huge had leftovers for two days. Yummy! The tequila sunrise needed work though
The food and service was terrific.
It doesn't look like much from the outside. Once you get inside you think you are in another country. The cuisine is from El Salvador. The waitress who took my order was totally awesome and let me sample three non- alcoholic drinks that were all delicious tasting but had their own distinctive taste. The food was delicious what I had. Saturdays there is a live band.
Las pupusas deliciosas, disfrutamos la comida y un ambiente muy bonito. Delicious heavenly pupusas,my me and my family enjoy la food .
Cool
Pupusa s are great rice and flour.
Good pupusas in a nice clean place.
Great restaurant. I went there tonight for take out, what a delicious meal I had. I got three pupusas with chicken and one with jalapeno. The price is excellent $8.00 for all plus a delicious but somewhat differant spicy slaw and I am stuffed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I hope everyone in the neighborhood gives them a try.
Good food
The pupusas here are top notch! Not greasy at all and also a good size for pupusas. The curtido(slaw) could have been spicier but in all I will definitely be back when in the area. If you live by this business try it you won't be disappointed! Oh the Horchata was delicious as well( a rice drink with spices).
Excellent popusas
Authentic Salvadoran cuisine. Great customer service. Very friendly. Delicious with great variety. Very impressed with their dairy free and gluten free options!!
Best pupusa in Cleveland.
Great service and delicious food. The whole fried fish was crispy and yummy; it reminded my husband of his mom's.
Fantastic I'm telling everyone how good it was!
Good service good food
Love this spot. Not too busy, but delicious well made food. Love the papusas. I have not gotten to anything else! Reasonably priced and great service.
The food was delicious. My husband and I had the pork pupusas. They were fabulous. We also shared an order of plantains which were crispy and delicious. The place is a little "divey" looking but it's clean. Certainly not a fancy place but if you're looking for great authentic El Salvadorian food this is the place to go.
Authentic Salvadoran food. Yucca con Chiccaron is excellent. Pupusas are the best in town.
The food is very good and the atmosphere is so authentic. It feels like you're in El Salvador when you step in. I didn't give it 5 stars because I went there for dinner and the service was so terribly slow and the server didn't seem to care or apologize for the slow kitchen. It's pretty dead at lunch time during the week so I like going then.
Gooood
Great food. Good atmosphere.
Delicious food and good environment
Went in at 6 on a Friday and it was dead. The bar area is lifeless. The food is really solid. For sure get the Pupusa (sorta like a cross between a taco and a pancake or savory crape) the fried chicken is lousy, $12 for 1 chicken quarter and some rice and beans. The chicken is bland. I will say the rice and beans are awesome though. Just get a bunch of Pupusa some plantains, rice n beans and you should love your meal.
I've been going here for about a year and a half now and just haven't gotten around to posting a review. This Salvadoran restaurant definitely gives the home cooked style vibes that makes you want to keep coming back for more. I am very used to home cooked Mexican food and this is very similar. They don't use a lot of chile so you don't have to worry about the food being spicy. I would definitely recommend 2 or 3 pupusas per person (the revueltas are my favorite) and also a side of the plantains with crema. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and always willing to recommend something new to try.
Salvadoran cuisine. Well-prepared and served in a colorful environment. Nice folks, clean and well-kept interior setting.
Delicious food
Weak Margarita and very slow service
Good food, but not certainly not great. The real shock came when the bill arrived for the tiny "double shots" of tequila at $14 each! The margaritas were mostly water with no noticeable alcohol and $7 each. If you are going for the food, plan to just eat and have your drinks somewhere else. Personally, I did not find anything at this restaurant worth a return visit.
Food was great real not fake nice people very good vibes
