So, first of all this place makes delicious chicken and waffles and you will definitely not go wrong trying that. Also, they have a wonderful goetta and cheese omelette that I would recommend giving a shot as well. The servers were nice and the atmosphere is great as well. Overall a great place for breakfast or brunch and I will definitely return!

They claim to have the world's best fried Chicken, but it was bland. How can green beans cooked with ham be under seasoned. Buffalo wings were fair. Chicken did not taste like it had any salt or pepper, let alone secret herbs and spices. And to top it off the woman behind the counter was rude.

I had the four piece chicken dinner with fries green beans and an extra side of coleslaw. The chicken was excellent the breast could be made better by brining and making it more tender the other three pieces were fine service was very good french fries were exceptional the only thing is I asked the server if the green beans were homemade there and she said yes they were. I guess her idea of homemade is being poured from a can with a little bit of ham added they were canned canned canned but the price of the meal was reasonable for what you got the only downside was the expectation of fresh green beans not canned green beans. Would go back for sure

I've been coming here since I was a kid (though I called it "Kitchen Post" back then. It was always a family favorite! I'm a big fan of the Buffalo wings, but the mock turtle soup is also fun and the pies are amazing!

The worst chicken and dumplings I have ever had. It was like a thick extra sault chicken soup poured over a half baked biscuit. I left most of it on the table. I have eaten here before and the food was ok. Not this time.

They sure brought back a lot of memories. I was once a fry cook at the Munch Box before the owners purchased the Hitching Post! The Munch Box was the BEST greasy spoon restaruant in Cincinnati. It is no surprise to me that the owners are doing very well with the Hitching Post. Many years have passed since I was a fry cook.

I've never had anything bad here, everything has been very good with excellent service. The food is always good and the pies are excellent to. I just had breakfast there and I had baby calves liver and onions with Amish potato salad and coleslaw also a dinner roll . A great meal by itself . Also My favorite thing is chicken livers and chicken gravy with a dinner roll. Enjoy

Ok first off they do not have the best chicken in the world, but it is good. My husband really enjoyed his sandwich and gave it 4.5 stars. My chicken dinner was good, but the mashed potatoes and Garvey was the best part for me. My daughter said her chicken ranch sandwich was good. Our waitress was great and it was a nice homey atmosphere. We will come back another time to try some pie.

Awesome food! Our group ordered country fried steak, beef liver & onions, fried chicken, and open faced beef sandwich. Extremely flavorful and texture was spot on! Whatever you do, be sure to get the cabbage as one of your sides...holy cow...delicious!! Met the owner Peggy, who was warm and welcoming. Our server Jess was a sweetheart who really knew her stuff! They made us feel like old friends rather than customers. Finished off with a slice of their homemade pies. Yum yum!

That fried chicken is among the best I can remember in years. My friend had the roast turkey and said it was excellent. Service was quick and very friendly without being "fake". Menu appears to have many tantalizing options. I am already looking forward to going back. Too bad I will probably never stray from that chicken. :-)

Really does live up to the "Worlds Best Fried Chicken" in which it advertises. Chicken is flavorful, juicy, and cooked to order so it is always fresh. Sides left a little to be desired, but the chicken is definitely meant to be the star of the show. Overall, this location had a very "small town diner" feel, as there were regulars coming and going as I was there. All of the waitresses were very polite and I had no problems with the speed or friendliness of service. Their menu has quite a few options for any type of meal, if you arent looking for chicken. Aside from the sides, the restrooms could have been cleaner, which would have been my only other complaint.

We enjoyed this place !!!!! The food came out in a timely manner, my husband ordered the lunch special double deluxe hamburger, my son got the grilled cheese and fruit, and for myself I got their famous chicken slaw and mashed potatoes ! All of the food was delicious. The only hold back from getting five stars for me was the decorations above our table where we were eating were covered in dust, and the floor in the section that we were sitting in was filthy salad al over the floor and trash. The restaurant was not busy at all because we visited at 1-1:30. I think a little touch of clean up and this place would get 5 stars.

Was in the mood for a hamburger and Hitching Post popped up on some recommendations. Wouldn't go back just for the burger but the other food on the menu looked good. Lots of homestyle choices like meat loaf and pot roast. Very few other guests and the ones that were there seemed to be regulars. Definitely an older group of guests. Overall it was clean and comfortable. Food came out quick and was tasty, just nothing remarkable.

Never have had a bad experience here. Great staff and food. I'm glad they added the chicken & waffles to their menu full time. I'd probably avoid their entry-level burger, (go to the dozens of awesome Cincy burger spots), though I highly recommend HP if you're looking for comfort food.

This is for myself the absolute best breakfast menu ever. Love the home fries, the staff is absolutely perfect Have only found this type of service in the staff in very good places in Europe. Very clean neat and cozy family oriented establishment. It is very very good and I highly feel everyone to try it at least once. Don't feel you would be disappointed. Atmosphere is very cozy, clean, family oriented.

Very disappointed. Placed an order for 9 piece Chicken Dinner To Go. When I went in to pick up order, I was told that the order was never dropped due to cash register issues. There was no apologies or what can we do to make it right. Just an “Oh well”. Very poor customer service. Thank goodness Popeye’s is right across the street.

Tasty, simple, non-pretentious food. Went for brunch, got a BLT and added extra bacon - I was very satisfied. Everybody else in my party (3 out of 4 of us were first timers) was also happy with their orders. Despite having a discussion about how the chicken was supposed to be tasty, we all forgot to order chicken! I'll have to try it next time because I will definitely return.

Omg their Swai fried fish is to die for!!!! We had the most amazing server her name was debbie. My 2 year old and I go here often because there is many things for him to eat. He has eating difficulties, and they always reccomend the soft food for him:) if you go enough they will always remember your name! Even though it's in Rookwood (a little uppity) their food brings everyone together from all parts of the city!

We go here often on the weekends. The cali gold wings are amazing and always come out fresh. You can see the steam coming off them. I recently tried the broccoli cheddar soup and buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were great. The only downside is sometimes it takes a while for the food even when they arent that busy. But to be fair, the food is always fresh and worth the wait.

The fried chicken here is delicious, as are the potato pancakes and the pie. The fried chicken is how it should be- basic and delicious, crispy and juicy. The mashed potatoes leave something to be desired. The green beans are canned, and that's okay for the price. Personally, I like dipping the potato pancakes in the applesauce. It was my first time experiencing fried green tomatoes and they tasted excellent. I feel the portion size definitely could have been larger for the price, though. The atmosphere is very basic country kitchen, moat likely not remodeled since it was opened. It's not a romantic place, it's not a fancy place, but the food is good and the decor isn't trying to be something it isn't. Hyde Park Hitching Post does not serve alcohol. It gives you the feeling it should be "home cooking," but the sides have room for improvement. The service is friendly.
