Hands down some of the best Mexican food I've ever had right in my own back yard. I never knew it existed till this night but I have been back a few times and will continue visiting one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ate at. I recommend this place to anyone who loves this type of food And even if you do not I recommend you try it do not knock it until then.

I am a former chef and now I am a self-appointed food critic. I am formally trained to think, read, and write critically. I intend to critique objectively. Tacos, Burritos, Guacamole... NOT Mexican. It is quizine fro Southwestern USA. But there are genuine Mexican items on the menu here. Tamales, for instance are in fact a long traditionally Mexican dish. Don Ramon's does these better than most Cleveland Mex-ish restaurants. Price is fair. Frijoles are Mexican... but Don Ramon makes the Mex-ish. Real frijoles are not all bean paste. The real deal has whole beans mixed in the bean paste. They also, have garlic, onion, and peppers mixed on. Then the are baked so that there is a crispy crust on top. Mex-ish is when you get mushy bean paste with NO flavor. Advice? Bring: Garlic Powder Onion Powder Cilantro Chili Powder Cayenne Pepper Powder So you can make it taste like authentic Mexican. Most Clevelanders are not accustomed to real Mexican... So, most people will probably like this place.

They use canned chicken bland to the max for a mexican style food i would have expected more spice, staff friendly prompt very nice, should have had more bang for the buck, do not think its a go to place hell they cant even drain the canned chicken right there was no flavor to anything on my plate

Don Ramon is Mexican restaurant of choice. The service is always excellent and the food is delicious. Today's experience went beyond my expectations. The server was at the table asking if we needed drink refills before I could think that I needed one. The food was sizzling hot and was at our table in a flash.

Ordered a 21$ plate that came with shrimp, lobster that you could not see, and 1 piece of fish. The dish was good however for 21$ there where no vegetables or side dishes offered so I paid for and extra side of beans and rice that should have automatically been offered. Waiter was nice ...

Went here for the first time. Although they were a little understaffed and took several minutes to seat us even though the restaurant appeared rather empty, our service was great once we sat down. I got a burrito with chicken and the chicken was seasoned and cooked very good. The burrito was smothered in a delicious queso. Overall great dining experience and food. Would definitely go again.

Expensive, we wanted to order from the lunch menu and they say we couldn't . when other mexican restaurant give it to the customer. The waiter did not wrote down any of the order so of course screw my food. Didn't even apologize for it .

Located between Big Lots and Whatever other stores are in the shopping plaza is Don Ramon. I ordered the #5 vegetarian meal (Veggie Fajitas) with an extra order of tortillas. I was sat fairly quickly was asked what I would like to drink and then in a flash chips and salsa arrived at the table. The restaurant was particularly busy today so the wait between ordering and receiving food was on the long end of the spectrum but not enough to feel as if they forgot my food. The vegetables tasted decent, some “grill” gristle was left over from the char they put on them. The guacamole was good and enough for all of the fajitas I made. Beans and rice were standard here and nothing out of the ordinary. Overall I can’t complain about the service nor food.

Its really good. The portions are large so I wouldn’t go in partly hungry. When I went, they were very busy but we sat down right away. I got 2 tostadas with beef off the a la carte menu and it was delicious. Their strawberry margaritas aren’t bad either. I would definitely recommend this place.

What a wonderful gem to find right next to where I live! The entryway is inviting and pulls you into the large dining room. The decor is phenomenal. I ordered from the a la carte menu of 3 ground beef enchiladas. They were perfectly cooked and not overly spicy. My fiancee ordered the Banderas which had 3 Enchiladas. One shredded beef, one ground beef and one chicken. It came with a healthy portion of Spanish Rice and the smoothest most flavorful refried beans I've ever had. Until I tried these, I never knew what I was missing! I plan to go back (walking)so I can sample more on their menu. I have my eye on a Margherita, Tamales and fried ice cream! The wait staff was friendly and the food came out in a timely manner...once we decided what we wanted. Give Don Ramons a try, you won't be disappointed!

I went there and when it was time to pay I had a $6.00 off coupon that was not expired and the shift manager would not honor it. He said he would give $4.00 off, I explained to him I eat there about once a week sometimes more and never had this problem before. Me bill was $30.20 which was in the coupon limits, he didn’t, care. I don’t know if he keeps the coupon money or what, but I will eat elsewhere for now on. Nice way to save the company money, loose a once a week customer over $2.00

Total waste of money I ordered the fajitas this afternoon to go. There was no tortillas. Ask for no beans no guac an extra rice, didn't receive any of that the way I asked for it either. Order the chicken enchilada and it was like absolutely no sauce on it at all. I had a couple of the chips and they were pretty good. For $22 though completely dissatisfied.
