Went with my wife on a Thursday afternoon and it was great. We sat on the patio had a couple apps and drinks and enjoyed the weather and the neighborhood. We live close by so it's nice to find a spot with really good food and atmosphere!

Better than my first visit, though I didnt try the same items. This visit I had a beer cheesy steak and my wife the Tuscan. The chips are good, but the fries for being "fresh cut" didnt look the best. They were alright but could use a second dip in the dryer. Service was good. Lots of different drafts I haven't seen elsewhere.

Having recently become a local, this is my go to spot. Today I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it's nothing short of spectacular. Perfectly cooked and deliciously tender. My bloody Mary made by Julia was a little heavy on the pickle juice and I couldn't finish it, so Ricky is still the go to guy for them, unless you come on Friday and Saturday 11am-4pm and make them for yourself at the Bloody Mary bar. The staff is friendly, laid back and pleasant. Just a great place to enjoy good food and drink.

I came here for brunch and was surprised at the menu. I mainly only think of them for burgers. I got the chicken and waffles with sausage gravy. It was good and filling. The only knock against it is the waffle wasn't crispy, even from the first bite.

Attentive service! Fab location with a vast selection of beers, along with crafty cocktails. Food is great. We enjoyed the beer cheese soup with pretzel sticks, fresh chopped chicken tenders and fried pickles. Good place to watch Sports. We will be back!

Great food, ok service, big selection of beer (except domestic). Came here with some friends on a Friday night and it was a full house and waited a short amount of time for a table. They had some pretty awesome things on the menu, including some pretty quirky burgers and a few German specialties. 2 people both got the southern fried chicken sandwich and raved about it and another got a cheesesteak sandwich and loved it too! I got something a little different and went with a bratwurst and kielbasa dinner that came with sauerkraut and potato pancakes...so good! They have a large beer menu along with a cocktail menu, but if you prefer plain Miller or Bud... you're out of luck. The only domestic beer they have is PBR. I like to try different beers so I didn't care, but my husband is a Miller guy and he was super disappointed. As far as the service goes I was a little surprised it wasn't better, not that it was terrible. We got most of the drink order right away, but it took a while to get waters and lemon. We had to ask a few times for it. They didn't really check on us during our meal, we had to get their attention if we needed anything. And it took a while for them to bring our checks and get our cards back. It was busy when we got there, but after ordering food a bunch of tables cleared out so we should've been able to at least check out easy. All in all, I'd definitely like to come back. I think my husband would too and just get a pop to drink lol. They had a decent amount of places to park too which is great for being in Lakewood!!

Very fun, and busy bar. The service was wonderful. The food is very good and flavorful. Their burger of the month was interesting to me, the flavor wasn't that great, but still a good burger. I definitely will be back for their mead. It was delicious.

We stopped in for a late dinner expecting a diverse beer offering. This was within walking distance of our Airbnb. This is a bar specializing in beer. But, the food was very good for this type of location. We had a Portabella sandwich and a custom grilled cheese along with four different IPA's. It is really noisy but that would be expected. It is very small so seating could be a challenge. But, if you are in Lakewood and like beer, this is a great place to go.

My son took me there for lunch with my grandson for mother's day. Food was excellent (chicken waffle, breakfast bowl, burger). And the waitresses (?) outstanding! My grandson is special needs and they were so sweet to him. One even shared looking at his iPad with him. We work very hard to treat "my Buddy" normal and we so appreciate when other people do. The most amazing part? Time to leave and someone had picked up our tab! Thank you, whoever you are. You made my special day with my boys even more special. I can't afford to do it on as big a scale as you did, but I will "Pay it forward." Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Awesome service, awesome food, awesome beer selection! I ordered the buckeye sliders with a Genesee Octoberfest, my son had a BLT. Both meals came with home made chips and mine came with a deep fried pickle spear. Everything was cooked perfectly and came to the table promptly, we were there on Sunday a half hour before the browns opener. Will definitely be back!

Training day at bbe for drinks. If your not drinking alcohol, clearly not welcome. Food was great .Service the worst. Just love having the menu chucked at me and my friend after ordering non-alcoholic drinks. Should have left then. Nothing worst than servers with bad attitude. Never again!! Kinda sad. Buckeye Beer Engine is a gem. They have tons of beer choices, including micro, macro, a large German and Belgian beer selection, and excellent food. I would suggest either the beer cheesy cheesesteak sandwich or one of their German entrees as they make really schnitzel.

Wonderful evening! Server was appropriately attentive Tried 2/3 specialty bourbon cocktails, both great, the maple ginger was fantastic. Poutine was authentic, just like I had in Montreal. If I closed my eyes while eating the Big Boyz burger, I would have thought I was at the original. Overall a great experience.

Fantastic rotating draft list that is pretty meticulously planned. If you want to find specialty and limited release beers in NE Ohio, this is one of the places to be. Great menus featuring local products, new specials monthly and seasonally, and a fantastic brunch Saturdays and Sundays that include a great build your own Bloody Mary bar. Monthly events including beer pairings and many other promos. Only drawback is parking availability.

Great beer selection and interesting food options makes this a nice place for dinner and drinks. I had the spicy garlic Parmesan wings (which were not very spicy, but were quite tasty) and a great hefeweizen. It has a homey feel, but it'd be nice if they updated the decor at some point. Overall a positive experience.

Very disappointed with our service, as other reviews say on here if you aren’t drinking alcohol it doesn’t seem you are welcomed here. Asked to sit outside since there was a open table, hostess said it was for groups 3+, then 5 minutes later see 2 men sit at that same table. Food was decent but service was terrible, food was brought and never was checked on once, and then had to ask someone who wasn’t our waitress for our check since our waitress never came to see how we were doing. The restaurant was not that busy either. Will not be coming back, do not recommend.

This was the first place recommended to me when i first moved here 10 years ago and ive been coming back ever since. Every week they have a revolving list of draughts ranging from IPAs to ciders, meads, lambics and everything inbetween and best part is that if youre not sure, instead of forcing you to waste $$ on brew you may not like, theyll give a little splash as a taste test! Best burgers and blam damn good chips! As always, thanks for all the years Buckeye!

Their hamburgers are pretty good. I had don't hold the bacon burger and it came with a ton of bacon. It was pretty good. My partner had a beer, said it was very good but it wasn't cold at all. The wings were alright nothing super special. All in all it was pretty ok.

The best beer selection in Lakewood in our opinion with things that cater to both hop lovers and non. Ask them what a beer engine actually is if you've never seen one! FYI, has a superb staff of bar tenders and wait staff, but also has a *very* talented cook. Try their ethnic recipes if they're on the menu (for example, a very nice Chicken Paprikas) if you happen upon them. They are simply great!

I tried this place Sunday 06/02/19 for brunch because my coworkers always raved about their selection. No doubt the food was delicious but the service almost made my group and I never want to return. When first arriving the host told us it would be a 20-30 min wait. No problem! It's 1pm and I am waiting for two others to arrive any way. We were seated at 2 minutes to 2.... There were 6 of us all together. Three of us in the restaurant business between 6-15 years so we are completely aware of how the bizz runs. (One of us being a manger of a Lakewood restaurant currently, who's birthday was the day we came for brunch) Friend of mine in our party is paying for herself, she specifically told our server that the first round of mimosas was on her tab. At the end of the meal it took almost 20 min to get our checks. When the manger came by we asked her for the checks and we got one... When finally everyone got their checks, my friend who bought the first round of mimosas, was charged for my dish, and 50 dollars for the mimosas. The drink menu states buying 4 mimosas will be 18 dollars verses original price each one. She should have been charged $30 roughly for all of them together. Instead she was charged for the wrong dish on top of being charged the original price each mimosa. That was what cause the rest of us to check our account seeing as we split the second bill that was $75.75 three ways. The server charged us three 47 bucks each..... changing the original total from $75.75 to $141.. The sloppiness of this waitress was unreal. Seeing as three of our party have been serving anywhere between 6-15 years, it wasn't hard to spot some little things our server was lacking in.. Ultimately our understanding in how the industry works took us no where... The bill situation was a ridiculous matter to deal with and left us with a bad taste in our mouth... Although the manger and server kindly apologized and fixed everything for us we didn't feel much sincerity. Not completely sure we would return. The food was delicious but not worth all the hassle at the end of it all. Hoping this isn't a regular occurrence... It was a shame things ended the way they did.

The beer selection was NOT just IPAs and sours! I actually got to get some Belgian, Hefeweizen, and other varieties to enjoy. The. i had the burger that is like a crunchwrap from taco bell, but burger. The thing was delicious. Burger was just right; medium for me. And the bartenders were cool and it wasn't a bad place to catch a bit of the game.

Great food, drink selection, and atmosphere! The beer caps are dangerously delicious and the cyclops burger is always good. The schnitzel plate is a real favorite too! Parking can be tough but luckily our city is extremely walkable. The music is loud but not deafening and usually of good taste. The decor is beer themed and pretty interesting. Prices are reasonable. All in all an awesome place to eat and drink!

6 in our group. Sharon was great! We never had to ask for refills and she brought my wife a to go box at the end of the meal with out her having to ask. Also she smiled all the time and was nice to everyone. The food was great and everything arrived quickly and without any errors. I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but from walk in to walk out, everything was fantastic.

Food is good, but the service is very under par here anymore. First we tried to sit in the patio, the hostess explained the only table open was for 3+ guests so she sat us at a high top. Shortly after 2 men were seated at another high top, and they proceeded to get up and make their way outside and take up the table we had asked about. Instead of removing them they served them, making us feel lied to. Second, our waitress only took our order, never once checking on us, filling water etc. Even the bar manager checked on everyone else but our table. Food wise the size of the tomatoes slices on the BLT overwhelm the sandwich, slice them thinner *EDIT* After the response given to me from the GM I dropped it from a 2 to 1 Star. First off sir, it was not very busy. So don’t compare it like that, it was dead inside and your hostess completely lied to us about the outside seating, that or they were all 2 scared to ask the men to move. 2nd, it does not excuse our waitress for only taking our order. A different server gave us our food and the bar manager gave us our bill. Not very courteous or professional. Lastly, you need to stop and read some of your other reviews. There’s more than a few that state the service is sub-par, especially if you are not getting drunk and wasting your money on your beer. Seems the non-drinkers get the short end of your staffs stick. And seems you are more worried about my tomato comment then the actual problem here. I will not return because of you poor response to this review *EDIT #2* Apparently the GM here is also just as unprofessional as his staff, as he has decided to go the route of name calling. Sorry you can’t take criticism well, if all everyone gave were positive reviews how would a business know how to better themselves? It’s my duty to let people know what really goes on at places like yours. Maybe if you took as much time as you did for your witty comments and trash talk and put it towards your actual job maybe you wouldn’t lose customers left and right. I’ll make sure to share your new response to the rest of the community.

Literally the worst parking I've ever encountered in my life. Good luck getting in because your car will need it's routine scheduled maintenance well before you find anything. Hope you like Nascar because you'll be doing more laps than the Daytona 500 trying to get a spot. Or perhaps you'll feel like you own a Delorean because you won't know what year it is when you get done with that hot mess. On the plus side you'll walk off your meal and more as you hike it a half mile to your eventual parking on some side street you won't remember. One less place to spend my money because I already paid for a tank of gas in my endless quest to park. PS - my wife was spending her birthday here with coworkers and I was trying to meet her here. I'm pretty sure she's a couple years older now. Event ruined, good stuff! Thanks Buckeye Fail Engine.

This is the lakewood spot you have to check out at least once before you die. Its jus the best we in here all the time bartenders are great! The beer selection cannot be beat and the food is sooo good I say get the sweet potatoe fries and the pergoies. The burgers are great and they always have some food specials they are open late so after a night of drinking or drinking there it's always the right call such a cool place to watch live sports

My friend from the Cleveland area has mentioned this establishment many times before our visit today. I can see why. The Beer selection is excellent the staff is very knowledgeable about the taps and the Food well is Excellent. Where else can you get an Asian inspired burger with both Wagu beef and a pork potsticker on it. So even if Cleveland has the Factory of sadness this place is the establishment of happiness!

Great bar for American food and brew. They have a huge selection of beer and great twists on bar food. Parking situation isn't the best, however it is Lakewood and that's just how the cookie crumbles. I would recommend this place specifically for their mac and cheese bites.

Food is great, but you need to make sure to be very specific about what you want & how you want it cooked. I've gotten burgers severely undercooked before. But when everything comes out right, it's delicious.

As always, a great experience at the Beer Engine. Staff is very well versed on the beer they sell and are always polite, efficient and make great suggestions about their products. Food is unique and delicious. Never had a bad thing to say about this place

Wow!!! All this time I've been taking my consumer next door to get her haircut and always wondered what Buyckeye Beer Engine was all about. Well, today was the day I finally found out. She and I were their first constumers of the day. Staff was outstanding. Made us feel very welcomed and were very attentive. The food was GREAT especially their House Made Chicken Cheddar Ale Soup. It was the BOMB for me. Next time I'll order at least 2 bowls
