I'm not huge on burgers, but I was in the mood for one and figured I would stop in. The menu had more variety than I would have anticipated for a burger bar. There are salads, and you can swap out chicken or turkey, and the desserts looked good too. I got the Bru Burger, which is more of a classic type and it was good. More greasy than I would have liked, but I ordered it medium and that was spot on.The fries were great, and so was the homemade ketchup/tomato jam. I saw some of the onion rings go by and they looked awesome too. I was impressed with the burbon selection, and the pricing per pour was what I would expect. The burgers on the other hand seem expensive, but the ingredients were fresh and the portion was pretty large. I could only eat half of mine. The music was good, and the lighting was cool. It's a tendy restaurant that fits the area well. Overall, I would recommend trying it if you haven't.
One of my favorite restaurants in the business district of downtown - burgers are excellent and they have a great craft beer selection. Super convenient to Aronoff Center across the street, and we often end up here before our Broadway series shows.
Came to Cincinnati for the weekend, and my family and I decided to stop by and try this place. Honestly, it was one of the best places I've been to in a long while. Pictured is their Three Cheese Garlic burger with fries: had a bit too much garlic for my tastes, but it was still delicious regardless. Plus the staff and atmosphere were pleasant. Can't wait to come here again
OMG! Opening Day for the REDS and the BEST burger I have ever had in my 67 years on Planet Earth! Staff was great as was our meal. We can't wait to see you guys again! Do not miss the opportunity to eat and drink here my friends
Service was a bit slow, but the burger was great. I had the BruBurger which was a great twist on a basic burger.
Wait times can be a bit ridiculous during the lunch rush and the burgers are just okay. It's a little pricey considering the food, but that's just a symptom of being located downtown.
The Hamburger was great but I couldn’t finish it because it was 80deg inside the restaurant. I came in from outside to cool down and It would have been better to eat outside. Warm hamburger in warm environment is not my type of place.
So I ate here twice while in town due to the closeness to my hotel. Both times the wait staff were horrible. Good food. Over priced. The photo km sharing is of my second time eating here. Ordered my burger medium rare and got RARE.
Taste was not the focus. Trying to be so different that it turned me off
Delicious burgers. I had the triple cheese garlic and it was yummy. Sat in the patio and people watched. Great service. I recommend!
Great place to grab a burger, even on the weekend when every other place has a wait time. The veggie burger (pictured ) is on point
Delicious food, great prices and excellent staff! Will definitely make the 6 hour round trip just to eat here again!
This is one of my favorite burger restaurant in Cincinnati. They have something for everyone from burgers to chicken or salmon sandwiches to salads. So, you will not be disappointed. If you like a good salad with goat cheese then this place is for you. My favorite is the gorgonberry pecan salad. All ingredients are fresh and cooked to perfection.
The food was excellent and the local beer was tasty and refreshing. Wade, our server was friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Would definitely visit again when returning to Cincinnati.
Fairly good food and service. Great patio dining option. Food is expensive for what you get though.
Great beers and burger centric cuisine. There is dining outdoors for warm weather. Convenient location nearby parking and of course hotels.
I had the burbon bacon chicken sandwich with fries. The taste was excellent and the portion size is perfect for me at lunch.
Stand alone burgers are good. But for the $ should have a side. Sweet tea should come sweet.
We were on a break from a training seminar, Ashley was our server, the place was busy, but food service was fast. She helped with my food allergy questions, took care of everything as we asked, got our bill taken care of while we ate. Great service, tasty food! I felt bad we had to run off so quick!
The food was delicious and the fries were excellent. They make their own ketchup! I ordered the Bru Burger and the flavor was delicious, the only downside was the bun was extremely soggy. But great overall experience.
Bru burger is one of my favorites anywhere in the Midwest! We were quickly and attentively served and had a great time.
Excellent food before a Reds game. We were seated and served in a timely manner. The burgers and fries were splendid.
Wait was short (10 mins) for six people considering we went right after a Reds game. I ordered the "regular" burger and added bacon. It was juicy and delicious! I had fries as my side and wasn't impressed. They were mostly soggy. However, one of our party loved the fries. She said they were really crispy and the best she had ever had. So, maybe luck of the fryer? I will definitely return.
Food was okay staff was friendly prices were not all that great.
Ate here last night; delicious! Our server Patrick was wonderful! We will be back. And I highly recommend the Baja salmon = )
I ordered the salmon and onion rings. Absolutely delicious.
Great little place! Food was amazing. Atmosphere and comfort not so much. But nice for lunch.
This is a wonderful place to stay with excellent food in the lobby restaurant. They have valet parking where you can come and go as often as you like without any problems, the staff is always very happy to be of service in any way they can help.
Food was very good, but we did not care for the wine on tap.
Got the beginner burger and fries to go. The burger was large and done exactly as I ordered. The fries were golden on the outside and tender on the inside. They also keep the skins on their fries, which I liked. Burger was $8, fries were $2 more.
Excellent burgers, food and staff! Definitely a must bear Fountain Square!
The service and food was awesome!!! I had the pulled pork bbq melt and it was delicious!! Our entire family enjoyed this place!!! I recommend coming here and enjoy the excellent service and food. Our waiter was good!! Nice and clean!!!
The food was delicious! I got a burger and fries, and they did not disappoint. There were just a couple reasons I don't feel like I can give it 5 stars. First of all there was a hair on the outside of my cloth napkin. Second my menu had some sort of dark liquid stain in it, and there was crayon on the drink menu at out table. Third I ordered a beer, but did not receive it, despite us being one of three tables occupied in the restaurant. A couple minutes after our food was brought out, our waitress remembered, which by this time I didn't want it. Overall not bad, but I don't think we'll go again.
Bru Burger is located right in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. The menu featured some signature "chef" burgers, craft beers and full service liquor bar. I had the chicken sandwich and my wife had a regular hamburger nothing fancy. We also ordered a (whiskey)brownie with ice cream for dessert. The restaurant has an array of seating both inside and out. We went on the 4th of July and they were short staffed. Our waiter stated it was his 2nd week and it showed. Which is why I only gave 3 stars. Also the black carpet on the ceiling was a bit odd. But overall a decent place to eat.
The food here was good. We got the pretzel appetizer and I was surprised that I liked the habanero mustard. Our burgers were good. I loved the fries. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. We came on at the lunch rush but still got seated and received our food pretty quickly.
As anyone who knows me, knows I love a great burger. This place had it. Juicy and just pink in the middle. BUT, I ordered a beer, and my food came before my beer. I was told that they had to change the tap!!! Lord, I could have made the beer and tapped it sooner than it took to simply pour a beer!!! For the love of all, why didn't the waiter ask me if I would like something else. As it was I had a different beer anyway. And yes I was charged!
My friends and I stopped in around 2pm on a Saturday. The food was wonderful (thus the stars) but the service was just not great. From a disorganized hostess to the time it took for the food to come out, it was not a great experience. I worked in food service for a few years and so I empathize with those working in it, but some additional training or maybe a floor lead/manager could have helped out that struggling crew. I will be back for the food and hope that this was just a fluke.
It's ok. The service was the best part of the meal. Fairly certain they used frozen patties. I had the Bar Burger- very soggy.
We visited the Cincinnati location and loved it! One of the best burgers that we’ve ever had. Our waiter Deshawn was very nice and genuine. He made great recommendations and did not rush us although we arrived close to closing (drove in for a race for Charlotte, NC.) We will visit here again if we’re ever in the area. Don’t pass this place by.
They have 3 different veggie burgers!!! And great fries too. Our burgers came out quick and just the way we asked. I will definitely be back.
Valencia salad with grilled chicken great combination of flavors. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dinner. Professional, polite hostess, server and staff. A must try if you like gourmet burgers and more.
My boyfriend & I dined there Sunday evening from out of town & we were not very pleased. We sat at the bar & there was a terrible smell. (Maybe mop up from spilled liquor or syrup.) Food was good. But atmosphere was not. None of the staff ever smiled, never got a “have a good night” while leaving, while two workers stood behind the bar chatting. It was slow so you would think they’d have plenty of time to small talk or make an effort to at least pretend they want to be there. The manager on duty was not very friendly either. We visit from Michigan every year to attend a Bengals game & we like to try new places. This was not what it was talked up to be from the other reviews.
This was a new experience for me. I had the vegetable burger call the impossible burger. Ahh words cannot describe how awesome it was!!!. The waiter was just awesome.
Best burger I've had in a long time. I ordered a lamb patty which was topped with cheese and an onion ring with barbecued pork in the middle!
After work gathering. Wasn't very crowded even with a Reds game happening that night. Very slow service. Waitress got the replacement drinks wrong. Big portions. Better choices around the area.
Great options for vegans and vegetarians. I've never been disappointed with my meal here. I wish it was a liiiiiiiiiiittle less expensive, as it's on the higher end for burgers, but, the menu options are pretty unique so it feels worth it.
My first time eating Bru Burger Bar, I had the Baja Salmon burger/sandwich. OMG it was so good! I waited to post, only because I had been driving all day eating road trip snacks and wasn't sure how much starvation had a play...So I went again! This time I had the Portobello sandwich. And yes it was freaking delicious! Both times the employees were wonderful to engage with, excellent customer service!
The service was great, prompt with multiple check-backs. I enjoyed my snack burger, it was just the right size for lunch and cooked to my preference. I thought the onion rings were too greasy, though and am taking them home to see if anyone else would like to try them.
