Don’t trust such stupid people to place an order for a gathering. After I invited the people, they wanted to charge me extra at the last moment for an order placed two weeks ago. They do have no professional way to get an order confirmation or a refund. Basically, they are not smart enough to run business! They are holding my money for a couple of weeks and they don’t know how to make a refund on the credit card. Replying to the owner’s response below: The order was made for 50 people and you promised to make it enough for 60 people. The stupid way you do to make the order as a note in your phone lets you either lie or forget what we agreed on. As you mentioned that this is the USA, you should be professional to make an order confirmation and respect your customers’ time. You talk to a PhD. in Engineering person who knows how to make things perfectly and is rich enough to get a high quality food. Get me my money back in a professional way and that would make me believe that you are OK to run such a business. Lastly, the way that you replied to your customers' review tells clearly how professional you are. Guys: Check below how this restaurant replies for complaints.. It's FUNNY!

First off, ambience and decor...don't matter here because the food is phenomenal (and they give you a lot). I had a mountain of rice that I was skeptical about finishing, but that turned out to be a non-issue because it was absolutely delicious, as was the barbecue chicken is had. Highly recommend.

An excellent sampling of Somali cuisine. It was first experience with Somalian cuisine and I am hooked. The portions were very sizeable at a very reasonable price. The tea itself is a reason to keep returning to Steers. Probably the best value you can get in Grand Forks!

The food is excellent for the price. The waiters are a bit disorganized, but they are really nice people. This is definitely one of those hidden gems in the area. If you think fine dining is just paying more for less, or if you want to have a wholesome in the middle of a long journey, add this place to your list of stops! You will not be disappointed! :)

Their food and chai tea are absolutely amazing! We had gyros and the Somali style pasta (both with lamb) and samosas for an appetizer and were blown away by the quality of food and large portions! Our server was also great, always checking in to make sure we were satisfied. I highly reccomend you give this place a try if you’re looking for a new place to eat. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

I love places like this. I've been here one time so far and it seems they cook a different set of dishes each day and you get to choose from them as opposed to ordering from a menu. I had lamb rib and a type of Curry with rice. Both were very good and I can't wait to go back.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to review Steer's. I eat here AT LEAST once a week. Last night I went in to find out they only do by order now instead of a front buffet style. Which I love, food is still fantastic and little more fresh! As I was sitting and talking to the employee working last night I told him it was worth the wait and said how much I go there. When my food was ready he had thrown in (a VERY delicious) dessert with my meal to thank me for my repeat business. I have never had a bad experience here but I'll tell you what that is really above and beyond! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Thanks Steer's.

The food was outstanding. Definitely order a tea, they're wonderful. A pretty small menu, but it gets straight to the point with meat dishes. They were already out of Lamb when we got there around 7 which was disappointing but understandable. We ordered the Steer's Plate which we were directed to as being popular, but it was very appetizer-size. So, if you're hungry, make sure to order the main menu. Nice addition to the Grand Forks culinary scene.

Unbelievably good food. Just really, incredibly excellent. I cannot recommend this place enough. And they will give you sambusa which is sort of like a samosa if you ask. Also they have delicious mango juice. And really really good goat and curry. Oh man, this place is just so good.

Wow!!! My husband and I literally just left the restraunt and still have a whole container of food left over to take home. We live in a very small town in northern Minnesota and we are here for his job. Wanted to find something new to try besides the same old Mcdonald's and junk we only have in our area. All I can say is WE LOVED IT!!!! The flavors are something we've never experienced before. Cute quiet little atmosphere!! With respect..I love seeing their culture and hearing the way they speak. I've not gotten to see much of the world but that experience made my entire night! Will definitely be going back again if not a few more times before we have to go back home to our little town in the woods!! Very very kind people!! Worth every penny and the tip!!

It was a pleasure doing business with this restaurant. We had an event catered at the law school and the quantity of food was more than adequate as well as delicious. We placed an order of: rice, chicken, salad, and samosa's, three days in advance for pickup. Elias, was kind enough to loan us trays for the food. Everyone in attendance at this event enjoyed the food. Thank you, Steers, for helping to make our event a success.

Great new updates in the restaurant. They serve buffet style. If you aren't sure what you'll like just ask for suggestions, or even for a small sample. The staff is very friendly.

This is the second time I’ve eaten at Steers and the food was really great both times! The meat is amazing, so tender and flavorful. The rice was light, fresh and flavorful as well. My sister tried a smoothie and it was really thick and fruity. Even being someone who has a hard time “splurging” on a drink that like at a restaurant, I would still totally recommend it. Today they were out of Samosas and offered us a free dessert instead. A nice gesture served by a nice man. (The dessert was amazing!) The restaurant itself both smells and looks clean, with a very impressively clean bathroom. My only issue with both vists have been timeliness! I think the service needs to be just a bit quicker and the servers/workers more attentive. I look forward to trying it again and seeing what the next visit brings!

Great hot food. However employees need to work on their phone skills. I called and they answer, but i am unaware if i called the right place. Then I place my order and they say "ok" and hang up. Now im not sure if my order is being filled? If its correct? How long it will be till its ready? How much will it be? Little customer service training would go a long way to improving this establishment.

As a chef myself, I am extremely impressed with this place, you can feel the love and taste the passion they put into their food. Truly a hidden gem, I'm so happy I found this place! One of the best restaurants in town, with authentic cooking and real chefs/cooks.. I almost went to red lobster tonight for my birthday dinner with my husband, but they had long wait times... I am so thankful that they did, cause we found steers instead!! I think I found a new favorite!

The food is always great from the food truck when we’ve had it and the employees are great! But I wish they’d do better with their online presence and communication. I tried to go here for lunch because their Facebook page said they were open at 10:30am. It was noon and the doors were locked. I get that small businesses may change hours, etc but that’s not the kind of surprise I want when I’m craving good food!

So good!! Love this place! I frequently crave their rice and their chicken. We usually order the "dinner for three"; three meat choices and rice! Huge portion and easily shared among 3-6 people dependent upon how hungry you are. Last time I went I tried the tea and discovered how amazing that is too! Wonderful experience, tasty food, and friendly staff!!

Very unique food. If you want to get away from the boring "normal" food you are used to, try this place. Great tasting food. Friendly place. Very under the radar. I know they are working on the atmosphere, because truthfully there isn't much going on in there, but they're slowly re-investing in the place and I'm sure it'll get there. When you taste the food, you wont care.

This place is one of those hidden gem restaurants. The sign outside doesn't stick out but the food definitely does. The food and service were both great. The chicken masala was delicious, it was spicy but that did not overpower the flavour of it. The rice was flavorful and very light. The shawarma chicken sandwich was delightful wanted even more was the only complaint. Walking in I was sceptical of no one being there but walking out I was beyond satisfied.
