Chili burger was awesome, should have taken the chef’s suggestion to add chili to my fries
Good food!
Fast service and great food. This is a place we head for when we want a tasty burger. We have also had other good comfort meals here including a Thanksgiving dinner. Always well done and served by helpful staff.
Excellent service! Good local dishes!
Awesome home cooked food by great employees!
Love this place... The manager is excellent
Regular stop for me. Great breakfast menu the sausage patties are the best around. Good variety of premium burgers. Best knoephla soup in the Bismarck Mandan area.
Nice cozy place, great burgers, country fried steak was wonderful. Waitress was very friendly. Homemade baked goods for sale at the register. Will be visiting again.
Nice place. Wery friendly personal. Delicious food.
Food was great. Good service and value!! Patty melt and fries. Excellent choice!!
Pretty good food at decent prices. Staff was friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. Overall it is a nice little restaurant. Don't let the gas station outside turn you away. It really is more than it seems.
The Rolling Hills Restaurant is our go-to place when we want great service, great food and excellent value. I cannot think of a bad experience here and we have dined at this location frequently.
You get 5 stars for your Knoephla soup. Your other food is great too.
Very delicious if you got to take your 30 min break and have some where to park this place is well worth it. Very good wait staff keep drinks full and your belly without draining your wallet.
Very good food coffee was cold but service and food is awesome
Thank you for your prompt response to Lex Luther's review. I recognize that perfect service is a challenge when you're short-staffed during an unusually busy time. BTW, I enjoyed my breakfast, service, quality and serving-size were great. Thanks again.
Big portions at a fair price. Good service. Kneouphla is a must have.
Friendly staff, clean, nice comfy booth. Only complaint is please serve hot rolls not cold. Hot roll with melted butter is way better than cold. Back 3 months later. This restaurant does not disappoint. Every meal is amazing. The German soup is to die for. My favorite truck stop in all America...♡♡♡♡♡♡
A wonderful family restaurant. Has the best knephla soup. Very nice decor. Service is very good also. I recommend this place highly!!
Love stopping in to eat here when traveling by
Love the knoephla
Good country fried steak.
Great place and service. Great tasting food with huge portions so come hungry
Having the daily special & house soup. Honest to goodness home cooked flavors. Without a doubt, I will stop by again.
Place has really gone down hill. Prices went up, food average. Seems very dirty
Amazingly tastes like home cooked food. The knoepfle soup & Southwest style chili were excellent, as was everything else. Friendly, delicious, low prices, & home-made dessert refrigerator by register. Wished we came through the area more often.
Such a friendly environment and the staff really cares about their customers! The food is great and the knoephla is to die for!
Good old fashioned sit down restaurant with good selection and hood food
Good Service for how busy they were. Food was good as well.
Great service. Fast. Good portions. A welcome break from travel.
Sunday brunch buffet is the best deal in the area. 12.95 and all the bacon you can eat! Oh, and did I mention the bacon? The staff are super friendly. The portions are generous. Breakfast all day and daily specials make this a great place to fill up!
Wow Rolling Hills their Cafe very friendly good food great atmosphere great place to take your kids and family and very helpful if they can help you
Waitress was very polite and checked up on us like a waitress is supposed to do and was very nice to my kids and grandsons I will be coming back thanks for the great service and good food
Food was cold, saw our server twice and was there for almost 2 hours. Half the staff was high. Do not recommend going at night because most of them don't care what happens.
Omelettes here are delicious, especially the Rolling Hills special with everything on it. On Sundays, they have a breakfast buffet from 9a-2p. The bacon on it is thick and delicious. The eggs on the buffet look like they've been sitting out too long. Have to take off one star for the very poor service. We had to wait 15 min before anyone came to take our drink order, and 30 min before a server finally came to take our food order. We had to clean our own table to sit down and were frequently short on silverware and drink refills.
Customer service is great here , steak n eggs was good but hash browns were too crunchy for my liking. They bring you a whole pot with your coffee!!
The service was fantastic and with a smile. The food brought out hot. Fresh vegetables (and I don't like veggies), perfect fries, and crispy chicken. Its absolutely worth stopping at this hidden gem on 94!
I'll give it 2 stars because the food was edible. Service was sub par at best. Not at all friendly and incredibly slow. Pricy and no refills. It would definitely be better if some effort was made.
I highly suggest this restaurant as it's hard to find a good tender steak these days but there is one here. My server Miss Ashley was very professional and knows her job well. She takes pride in her work and provides great service to her customers. She exemplifies to me what a true professional should be and I believe she will be successful in any task she wills to undertake to do.
food was good.....had the all you can eat fish special and I guess all you can eat means they decide.....had gotten my dinner and the server was very pleasant. kept asking if I was doing ok.... BUT come time for the all you can eat part a different server drops a bill on the table takes the ketchup bottle and walks away..... shortly after that someone comes and takes my dishes...... ok I can take the hint I'm going right? then I take my bill to the till and wait...... no one wanted to take my money so I left 15 bucks which would have been reasonable had I enjoyed the all you can eat part.... and my bill under a couple of pens by the till..hope they get it before someone else does.......sorry but I wont be back.
Very tasty, with generous servings?
Always friendly service and great food, especially their soup! Stop by every time we pass by.
Love this place. Delicious food, excellent service and reasonable price.
Good food decent service.
Good food service was good for mother's day
Amazing borscht soup and knephla soup!!
Wonderful service and food!
The guy at the counter was super nice. The place was clean and comfortable. The food was amazing. The best food I have had a while the omelette was fresh the veggies where good. The bacon amazing thick slices of bacon. I've traveled places this diner has quick fresh food it may not be a five star resort restaurant but if your looking for a home cooked meal you couldn't pass this place up.
Food is very good, portions are large, and the servers are very friendly
Use to be really good with old owners it's kinda meh now. They have good baked goods though
Friendly people. Very good meal Had fish and fries .couldn't finish it. Less than 11 with tax. Would stop again if in area
Great North Dakota cooking, I really recommend their soup.
I guess they don’t serve black people here...I came in not sure if you seat yourself or wait to be seated...I waited patiently...EVERY staff member on the floor looked me in the eyes standing there...not one came over to great me...I was still patiently waiting because I didn’t know if they were just super busy...so was ok with waiting to be seated...a caucasian couple walked in and stood next to me then sat at a table near the door...a young man immediately came to their table and began to serve them...still no one acknowledged my presence...it’s been about 10 mins now I’m standing there...finally a lady came to counter ask if she could help me...I explained what happen..and her words was...you want to eat here or go!!! WOW North Dakota...blatant racism at its finest. Every staff member there...I still pray Gods Grace upon you...you will be judged accordingly when the time comes!
I had the Wednesday special hamburger with fries. I was served lots of fries. I shared my fries. With my 1/4 pound burger. Burger was served with no lettuce or tomatoes just pickles. We shared a bowl of homemade chili that was very good. I saved some for my fries. My husband ordered a chef salad. It was very generous. Our server was Mary. Pleasant hard working woman. We were served well. She didnt forget a thing. We will come again.
Excellent quality food and service, choose here before most restaurants in Mandan. Except for the Rice bowl, but if that's what you want a country kitchen won't help anyway.
Yummy food and super fast
Great food and really good service
This place is awesome! That mushroom swish is phenomenal
I love everything about this place from the food to the staff and the homely feeling.
On my Most Favorite list
This restaurant is amazing !!! I’m a professional driver since 15 years and I have hard time to find good restaurant with truck parking . I ate sirloin steak there and it was delicious . It was my first time but not my last !!! I recommend it !!! We need restaurant like that on the road !!! Marlene
Food was bland, no flavor. Waitress ( if you could call her that) took my order, brought my tea, then disappeared until she brought my bill, someone else brought my food. I had steak & eggs, no steak sauce, no jelly, nothing. For the first time I can remember I didn't leave a tip. No it wasn't busy at 9:30 at night.
Whell came in at 11:45am. Sever was not good. Never came back until I was done. Food was bad undercooked. Had the Chuck wagon. Was no taste. Bad place to come to eat. Stay away.
The fastest breakfast I ever ordered, everything was so fresh and homemade. Bacon and sausage were fresh and tasted like it was butchered locally. Buffet was fresh. Great independent restaurant. Will be back.
Really good food, nice atmosphere, great menu and good service
Good food just wish was more better for people in wheelchair no door button
Never a bad meal here
Serve great and big omlets. Enough for two!
Always good service. Food is good and portion sizes are good too. Prices are reasonable.
I miss stopping here on our way to New Salem during college. Ever since I moved back to Texas, I can't a place that serves knoephla. Don't think I'll ever find one to be honest. Hope it's still good.
Awesome soup.
Overall, I was satisfied. Could have been better, and I know some people who would've sent my meal back.... I ordered the steak rare and eggs over easy with peppers mushrooms and onions on the hash browns and rye toast with coffee. Coffee was great. Steak was perfect, hash browns were perfect. The eggs were both broken and all over the plate, but I was hungry and just mixed them up with the hash browns and it worked out OK. The rye toast was burned. They buttered the burned sides and put them together. The waitress was great. Cook needs to work on his egg cooking and bread toasting skills and it would have been fives all around. I give an extra star for being open 24hrs. Night shifters need food too, so thanks for being open
This was my second visit. Both times I was not satisfied. The breakfast buffet is grossly overpriced for the few things that they offer. The idea of good simple plain food is overlooked for trying to"spice it up". A case where the bacon is limp and undercooked and the scrambled eggs are overcooked and dry. So this time I ordered off the menu. I ordered "soft scrambled" and received the same dry, overcooked eggs from the buffet, with scotch marks on them. I specifically asked for extra butter on my toast. I received toast with an inch of UNBUTTERED toast around the entire edge. When I purchase something, I don't want to have to do the job I'm paying someone else to do. They don't do their job, and look discussed when they get called on it. I will never return.
Grew up just up the road from here... this place used to be my all time favorite place to go. I have to say the last handful of times I've went it is not the same food or pricing it used to be. I don't look forward to eating here like I used to. Okay food maybe even good if you don't know any better but definitely not what it used to be.
Breakfast: That is our favorite meal at Rolling Hills, The prices are good, the service is quick and friendly AND the food is fantastic. Love this place, it's a bit of a drive for us but well worth it!!
The 8oz Sirloin Steak & Eggs were pretty good, nice sear on the outside of the steak. I downgraded from the 5 star rating because they could preseason the steak with a little house seasoning as they are cooking; it would make a world of difference. And if pan frying, sauté with a light garlic butter for extra moisture and taste. I would stop again. Total meal was $16, that’s with a drink, excellent price for what I ordered.
Not fancy, it's a diner setting with extremely friendly wait staff and very good food.
Every time good and tasty
