The nice thing was it was not too busy on a Sunday at noon. We were promptly seated in a requested booth. We were provided menus and our requested drinks. Although I had a chance to review the menu which had a couple of desirable options all three in our party elected to have the breakfast buffet. It was reasonably priced but I thought the options were limited and it was only ok quality. I did appreciate the salad bar option. Service was good and the place was clean and inviting. I love the ease of access from 12th or I-29. Parking was easy. I probably would go back and try options off the menu.

I had the pollock and shrimp with mashed potatoes. More food came than I expected. I guess the food in the picture on the menu didn't look like there was as much as actually served. Plus it was very reasonably priced. I was stuffed when I walked out of there.

Friendly staff very good food. They are a little slow though. We've eaten here several times and it seems you have to wait to get your menu, to get a drink, to get your meal etc. If your looking for quick service go to McDonald's. I can wait for a good hot meal here! Speed up the service and you'll get a 5* rating from me! Thank you!

Horrible waitress waited almost an hour for our food then it was cold on top of that. Supervisor comes over apologized then proceeds to ask if we want the meal free or a coupon for one free next time. Not going back there again. Quit making excuses for your employees not doing their jobs correctly. On top of that it was dead in the restaurant.

Stopped in after a transfer for a much needed breakfast. Had a choice to go with menu or buffet, chose buffet as we were in a hurry to return to home area. Buffet very good. As the saying goes if you leave hungry after this buffet it's your own fault. Nice to see large cups for coffee. Waitress very helpful, very nice. Partner was surprised by the pop that she got very unique and large like the jar idea. Overall very pleasant experience.

To be honest- the food is not sooo bad here. It's the service. The busboy who FINALLY saw us waiting to be sat took the initiative to seat us and brought our drinks! (I wish we could have tipped him!) He said our server would be out, and after a long bit she did come out (mind you another couple did come, waited, and left). She was nice enough but was obviously ready to check out soon (her shirt was untucked and she clearly looked disheveled). She disappeared to do her side work (I'm guessing) for long periods as we had to waaaait for drink refills. I didn't catch her name. It just felt uncomfortable to do so. It was after lunch, around 2:30ish on a Wednesday. She was not young and had lighter hair. Anyhow, we weren't expecting 5 star dining. But, we did want decent customer service...

The service here was great, Jill our server took good care of us. The only reason that I'm giving it 2 stars is because you can get the same food at the gas station for a fraction of the cost to dine in here. Chicken tender, burger and all same exact food but uncharged. The toast that I received when I ordered a half tender basket came out burnt. It's your typical American food but for the money you pay I would rather have just made food my self from the grocery store . Let me just save you a few bucks and just get the food.from the gas station.

All I can say is if you're missing out on that breakfast buffet on the weekends, the one that runs for lunch, you really are missing out. That food is delicious, and it's hard enough to find an American all-you-can-eat any anywhere else so please feel free to try this as I give it a 5-star rating....

Was seated and said we would do the buffet. No waiter to get us drinks. Had to go ask for drinks after 3/4 of our food was done. Bill came and she charged me full price for my kid which was supposed to be cheaper. Than said my kid looked tall to be 12 or younger. He is 11. Manager or owner was talking across the restaurant at employees loudly.

We eat breakfast with our son when we visit, because he can eat a salad. The muffins and danishes are dry every single time. The bacon is entirely too salty. I do enjoy the eggs, hash brown casserole, and the tiny cocktail sausages. I have eaten the biscuits and gravy in the past and enjoyed them, but I seem to remember this time the gravy looked like it had been there a while. We ate at 9:30 AM. As I am diabetic, it would be nice to know how much sugar/carbs is in the baked items and the yogurt. This could be written on the glass sneeze shield or tiny plastic picks or tents could be placed on the bar, perhaps. The area was clean, and our waitress was considerate enough to brew me a new pot of decaf coffee. It would be nice if there were plates located on the breakfast end and not just on the far salad end of the buffet.

Incredible customer service, incredible food, competitive pricing. I am from Alabama, so as a southerner I have had my fair share of cornbread. But never in my life did I think that I would have the best cornbread of my life at Marlin's in Fargo, North Dakota. I highly recommend this place.

Ordered taco salad and cup of chili. Salad had old lettuce mixed in. Good flavor overall. Chili was pretty good, I personally prefer a tad more spicy. Service was great, attentive and friendly. Music was wonderful.

I usually love Marlin's restaurants but not this one. I showed up at 9pm very hungry after a long day of driving. I passed several truckstops with restaurants on the way here, but I kept on going because I was looking forward to Marlin's. The sign clearly says open until 10pm, but the doors were locked up tight at 9pm. Thanks for nothing Marlin's. Go ahead and hold your breath until I come back.

Just close down now. It's not worth your dollars anymore. We used to visit about twice a month over the last 5 years, but as time went on food and service decreased. We had stop going altogether but randomly we decided to give them a try, and we regretted it. Our toddler wouldn't eat her food, and she eats everything. Sorry this place has taken a nosedive.

It's often just nice to come sit in overpriced truck stop restaurant. For 15 minutes. Without acknowledgement or service from anyone. I would like to gush about how great the food and service were, but I never saw anyone and I ain't hunting down anyone to give them my business. You want money and a good tip? Serve me, server!

Nice decor, friendly staff. Clean restaurant, good food and a good price for what you order. When you order a water or beverage, they bring it out in a quart jar. No skimping on amounts. Excellent service staff.

We had driven through NDSU and didn't find a place for a late lunch and coming up to the highway to head South, we spotted the huge red family restaurant sign and pulled in. The Restaurant was very big with several different places to eat and they were all mostly empty at 3:30 PM. One room was only for professional drivers and I was sad I hadn't become a professional driver but at the end of a walkway was a please wait to be seated sign with one table of 4 people being served and the server saw us and called out that he would be right with us. Dustin seated us promptly and took our drink order. He was polite and efficient explaining the place filled up regularly. I had warm fresh coffee with milk and my wife got a large mason jar of Diet Coke, er Pepsi OK? Sure. Her taco salad was tasty and my grilled chicken sandwich was very good too.

Food was absolutely delicious, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and salad... excellent. Server was very nice and attentive, checked on me multiple times. I really like the separate areas for truckers and non truckers, it's nice to be able to eat and enjoy some quiet time, away from the rude and discourteous people who drive cars and act like fools on the road. Will definitely be back on future trips.

Food is ok but high priced. It still amazes me. This place has never changed since it opened. The food is marginal. Prices are high for what you get. And the service is always bad. It's never gotten better. Even after changed name and management. They really need to go and visit other places around town. See what service levels are like and wht quality food is served. If not for the truckers and this evening only 2 where here the place would be dead.

My husband wanted a buffet for lunch. I am not a fan of them. But we found the ONLY American food buffet in Fargo. We live an 1 hour north of Fargo and would drive back for their buffet. I feel it was the best buffet I have ever eaten. Super impressed! Hot and delicious! Plan to go again and would like to try something off the menu.

This restaurant it's one of my favorite places to stop and get a nice smothered hot beef sandwich. They also offer a very generous Buffet and have many great specials throughout the week. You're looking for a nice home cooked style meal this would be the place to stop. Not only is the food good but they have a large variety of pies and other sweets and the staff is friendly very polite give them a try you won't be disappointed or hungry after

Stopped in Fargo for an overnight stay. Had dinner and breakfast there. Food was wonderful. Comfort food at its finest. Portion size was enormous and priced reasonably. Service was wonderful and fast. Will definitely eat there again when we come to Fargo. Highly recommend.

The smell in this establishment was very unpleasant. It smelled like I had just walked into a room stuffed with overflowing dirty litter boxes. The soup and salad bar was a little disappointing as well. There was no soup, and the lettuce was brown and soggy. Other than those two things, the place was clean and the dinner was good!

It took 30 minutes for the waitress to take our order. After taking our order we waited for over an hour to get served. It wasn't until we told our waitress that we were leaving if we didn't get our food soon. She said she would check on our order and came out immediately with our food, which was all cold. Our waitress was more interested in serving the trucker section and totally ignored the rest of her section. I don't plan on ever going back to that kind of service

I went for the buffet kinda late in the lunch hour. They still had fresh selections and the food didn't taste like it had been there too long. Their fried chicken is the best I've had in town. I respect the idea behind the mason jar cups (they've been doing it far longer than it ever became a trend) but I have small hands, and these are the full sized jars with no handles. Trying to handle a sweating glass without a good grip is tenuous at best.
