I go to this location frequently, they have some great choices. I remember one time they had a lobster mac and cheese or something and that had made me sick but when I went there later on it was gone. Otherwise I have had nothing but good experiences there!

The food was alright but the service was extremely terrible. We had to flag down the server twice. She never came by to see how we were doing or if we needed anything which we did. Will be a long time before heading back. The tip did reflect the service. Usually pretty easy person to please but we got there and it wasn't very busy at all. The second time in the last 10 days I went to eat at the Fargo Fryn Pan. It was a Tuesday evening around 7and the service was terrible again. The server took our order, NEVER came back to see if we needed anything or how we were doing. One of our drinks was empty, another one of our party order breakfast and didn't get any butter for the pancakes. This was strike two and there will not be a chance for a third.

They're super fast. Its awesome. We went there at noon on a sunday and there were 5 tables in front of us on a wait, and it only took them about 10 minutes to seat everyone! It was slightly mind blowing. Good food, love the salad bar option.. they have HUGE caramel nut rolls that are devine.

Main downside is long wait for main dish, but the salad bar and constant free refill drinks mostly make up for it. Overall great cozy, friendly place with good comfort food.

Update: after our original visit, the owner reimbursed us for our meal and sent coupons for a complementary meal which was very gracious but also smart because we definitely would not have been back. This time we tried breakfast instead, and I am pleased to report that the breakfast was quite good. This was one of only two times in my life that my medium fried eggs were actually medium and not runny, so that was awesome! The sausage links were by far my favorite part, cooked perfectly and flavorful. The bacon was also very good, and the breakfast options were a great value. I will stay away from dinner but we will probably be back for breakfast again! Original: Atmosphere: extremely depressing and made me sad just to be there. Decor tries to be retro but is actually just drab. Service: as a former server I will always give 20% for just basic service but this was questionably bad. Me: “what kind of fish is the Friday fish special? Is it cod, or what?” Her: “I know it’s fish...I can go ask what kind?” She wasn’t trying to be silly, she’s totally serious. More I won’t type here, but this poor girl did not know the menu at all. Food: the most disappointing part, because I will deal with bad decor and bad service if the food was excellent. Perhaps it’s my bad for going to a Denny’s type place for dinner, but wow. My fried walleye was a mushy mess, and my boyfriend’s baked beans were some of the worst food I’ve ever put in my mouth. Tartar sauce was this very off-putting color and something definitely not right. Overall our bill was $29 and change which was about twice what the food was worth. I honestly just want others to think twice before going here, unless you already know something they have that’s good. I for one will be staying away.

Fargo's frying pan family restaurant is one of Fargo's most popular stops for true local food. Try everything on the menu from breakfast to dinner or even the buffet. This place is open late and on the weekends can get very crowded. So stop on by and try some authentic North Dakotan food and for dessert good old pie and ice cream.

All of the food is delicious. It's cozy and a nice place to go have a quick lunch alone. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a soup and salad bar. Extremely cheap pie. Wonderful tasting, with lots of whip cream on top. Homemade goodies to go. Banana bread, cookies, bars. Try them!! One waitress during the lunch shift should be paid 100 times the amount she receives. Amazing service! I tip her more than what my meal costs because she is just that good and deserves every cent.

Just down the road a few blocks. My favorites are their beef vegetable soup & potato salad. You don't go away hungry!

My wife and I along with our daughter in law and a friend stopped here to get dinner before going to see our son at the hospital right around the corner. We figured it wouldn't take more then 15 minutes to get our order. Boy were we wrong, it took nearly 45 minutes to get the order which we had them make to go as it was taking so long. The waitress obviously had almost no experience at all. She came back to our table 4 or 5 times with questions about our order which should have been asked when we placed our order, such as the type of dressings we wanted on our salads, did we want grilled, or fried chicken on our chicken sandwich, what kind of potatoes did we want for a side dish? Then when she came back to ask my daughter in law a question about her meal and she was told the she was in the restroom the waitress had the audacity to go to the restroom to ask my daughter in law the question rather then waiting the 2 or 3 minutes until she was finished. When we finally got our order to go and were paying for it my daughter in law was separating it for each car only to discover that they order was WRONG. We ended up with 5 sandwiches, 1 taco salad, and no side salads for the 2 meals that had side salads. Would I recommend this place? Yeah I would recommend this place reevaluate their commitment to serving the community as they sure as hell did a LOUSY JOB serving us! Probably the worst dining experience I've had in close to 10 years. And I sure as hell won't be going back here !

The service was a little on the slow side but it was the lunch rush so it was to be expected. The food we ordered was very good but there were a few things wrong with the soup and salad bar. First, the salad bar side wasn't kept stocked that well even for how few people were going through it. That included some of the dressings being empty. Second, the soup side was better but one of the soups was extremely salty

The food is ok, typically get the special, it's normally going to be the best thing on the menu unless you really want something particular. The ribs in the summer are an ok thing to get if you find your self going here. The shakes are ok, the mud pie is probably the best. The burger selection is not bad either.
