This is one of my favorite places in Statesville, service was great as always. My favorite dish is the firecracker shrimp and today it tasted a little off? Not sure if you switched the shrimp? Everything else was perfect , just a little disappointed in the shrimp today.

Great place on Statesville. Probably the best Shrimp & Grits I've had in years. Sauce had just enough zip, grits were crispy on the outside perfectly, and the overall flavor was excellent. They also have a wide selection of craft beers to choose from, plus a full bar. We were traveling through, but will definitely stop in again the next time we are back in the area.

Mediocre. At first the place seems like an interesting building but it could use some warmth. Server was ok but uninterested. The rib eye was good but the green beans were so salty they tasted like they had been soaked in salt water. They were not crisp either Mashed potatoes were creamy but again, way too salty. The rib was tough despite the sauce it was in. Over all it felt like it was more important to turn the table and not worth the money we spent.

Very Impressed! Went in for a quick lunch bite with my father in law and son. While not a typical kids restaurant, they were very accommodating. They have an “off menu” kids menu for the little guys. If you like a good lunch/dinner salad this is a great spot.

I almost gave this visit two stars instead of three. My last visit was 5 stars, we were not as fortunate this time. Over cooked steaks, mediocre service and no parking does not a great visit make. Disappointing, if I wasn't there with guests, I would have complained.

First time going, not really too impressed..customer service in general was terrible, they need a different host, the girls personality was like watching paint dry..no “hello, how are you?” Nothing, took too long for the food to come out, it took almost 40 minutes for my side salad to come out first. First time my food came the meat wasn’t cooked right but once the food came it was good, drinks were good as well. Overall it was ok, maybe just an off night for them but for my first time definitely nothing impressive about the place.

Loved this place and can't wait to go back. Sat in bar area and the barkeep was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the different beers. We had the Shrimp & Grits, and the Mushroom Asiago Chicken for dinner and the Pimento Cheese & Chips as our app. Everything was delicious.

Great service. Had grilled chicken with mash potatoes and green beans. Hubby had seafood dish with several kinds of seafood. Very good food. Chicken with mushrooms dish was a tad bit salty but still good. Seafood was delicious. Great atmosphere. Sat near the bar on a hightop. Very happy with our service.have great bar selection along with beer and wine.

We had reservations at a different restaurant downtown, and the service was awful. We left that place and walked down to Twisted Oak where we had a wonderful dinner and awesome server. Thanks for saving the evening, Twisted Oak!

We were in town for a wedding and the bride and groom chose Twisted Oak for their rehearsal dinner. We had around 20 people or so in attendance. We had two waitresses who kept our drinks full as well as our bellies. The location was easy to find, we parked to the rear in a public parking lot that was central to many businesses and walked up to Twisted Oak. The menu was limited, and that was good because I had a hard time even picking from that. Everything looked delicious. I ended up getting beer dip, a Caesar salad, and a steak and cheese with seasoned fries. Everything was wonderful. I ended up taking some back to the hotel with me as the portions were generous! The staff was super friendly and the location was very clean. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone for a nice dinner or even for an event such as a rehearsal dinner!

We sat outside and had Pisquah ale with a large Philly cheesesteak and twisted fries (Had to take half cheese steak home as so much) . My Wife had cod fish and chips which was good. Good attentive service. Also let our dog sit outside with us as it is a dog friendly place.

I called ahead to see if dogs were welcome on the patio and said we'd be right over. They had menus and water for the pups all set up when we arrived. The salmon BLT is amazing. Plenty of parking in the back if parallel parking isn't your thing. Highly recommend.

Wanted to start this off by saying the food was very good, and reasonably priced, but the service was not as great. A group of friends and I made reservations for 9 for our prom dinner a month before the date, but when we got there, they only had a table for 5. This caused us to be very uncomfortable and squished, and some of our party even had to sit on the isle constantly having to watch out of the way because of other customers and servers. On top of this, we were rarely checked on by our server and had to wait 20 minutes for our check, after all of the plates were gone. I do not have a problem with automatic gratuity with good service, but the server easily made almost $30 in tips from our group, when we were not served correctly at all. This of course made us late for our event, and we were less satisfied with the day in general.

Horrible service. We where told a 25 minute wait. They bypassed us to set other customers, none of them having reservations either. When asked, they just said "sorry, they're regulars." Host and hostess where very rude.

Very good food, but it's a little overpriced. I had French onion soup and the asiago chicken, which was amazing. Great mashed potatoes, and the green beans were cooked to perfection! Service was friendly and quick, and the decor was very pleasing. The only really negative thin I noticed was how expensive the food was. It's good, but not quite worth the price. I will definitely be back, however, it seems I've found a great new place to take friends and family when they visit!

We have stopped here numerous times as we've passed through Statesville, kinda our go to restaurant for fantastic food. The environment & decor are cozy and food is always excellent. Our favorites continue to be the Shrimp-n-grits and the Fish & Chips. But, you can't go wrong with most anything on the menu. I will say, i have not tried the filet. If you happen to like stouts or porters, they offer some good choices, as well many other beers. They have a couple large rooms inside and a decent size bar area, plus seating outside with a fireplace. Enjoy!

I visited Twisted Oak with the Single Seniors from Iredell Senior Center. We went for a bite to eat and to see Theatre Statesville's production of Moon Over Buffalo. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious. The play was excellent. It has been awhile since I have laughed this much.

Very historic building in downtown Old Statesville. Nestled behind another restaurant, made it difficult for GPS. Food and service were excellent. Great beer and wine choices. Also tasting sized craft beers.

The food was delicious! There is something there for everyone. My husband had the fish and it was fantastic. It was a nice size portion and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was clean. There was no wait. Will definately go back.

I grew up on Cape Cod... Fish and chips isn't supposed to taste like that. Then I decided to try the lobster bisque the next day wanting to give them a second chance they took my order I went there I picked it up I got out to my car and I'm very glad I checked because they don't even sell lobster bisque anymore. Thank you for the offer of the $10 gift card but I won't be back.

We went here for lunch. The food was good but a bit pricey. I had the $12 warm spinach salad and it was good but a bit small for the price. My wife had the Nana's cottage pie. It was also good and the portion was more in line with what I expected. The service was pretty good and the waitress kept our drinks filled for as long as we were eating. The biggest disappointment was there was only one handicap parking space in their lot (my wife is handicapped) and there was a trailer parked in that space. It looked like they had some work being done on their brick wall and the contractors just left it there for the weekend. I understand it wasn't the restaurant who left the trailer but it is their parking lot and they shouldn't have allowed it. Minus one star for the portion size and another for the disregard of the need for handicap parking.

Steak tips were excellent and I will return just for those. Issues: wait staff was overwhelmed at lunch. No real lunch menu, just overpriced dinner selections at noon. The broccoli & cheese soup was burnt. The restroom is not big enough for a restaurant of this size. Parking can be an issue at busy times.

In Statesville N.C. for hot air ballon fest . Found beautiful little sport's bar great food. Cheeseburger with spicy pimento cheese melted let tomato and these homemade string onion rings on the burger! Homemade fries with small potatoes sliced round, perfect! They cooked my burger to order on the nose. Medium I love it! So many great dishes on menu, wanted to try them all. Live in Tn but will be back!

The food was very good, the atmosphere is a bit loud and older in appearance, but overall it was comfortable and welcoming. If you want a fancy or formal experience I wouldn't say this is the right place. If you want relaxed and good food experience, real and good quality food, then I will recommend trying this restaurant. Service was acceptable - a little slow, but friendly. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. They have quite a few booths, which we appreciated, and table seating appears spacious. There isn't a special hook, but overall the menu was diverse and all we ordered was enjoyed.

I hardly ever give negative reviews to a business, especially a small business that is locally owned. However, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant visits I’ve had. I waited over an hour to be seated (and yes, I confirmed the time by photos that I took, it really was that long). I was by myself, one person. The host was very nice and he felt really bad about it, but when I finally did get seated, my server brought me water and didn’t return for 20 minutes. That’s the point at which I walked out, and went to a restaurant around the corner, where I was seated promptly and treated with great kindness. I have no idea how good their food is, because I never got to try any.

We arrived at 12:32. The server was pleasant while taking our order. By 1:07 we still hadn't received any food. He told us that he would check on our food but it still wasn't ready. We ended up leaving without eating. Seems like better management is needed.
