An easy entry, order at the counter setup expressing a positive and friendly manner by the staff. A satisfyingly diverse offering list available, I think their selection of beer is impressive for a relatively small operation. Food is delicious, a conclusion shared among those of us who frequent the establishment for occasional lunches or a stop-off for a brief get together. I have to say each time I have ordered beef based dishes, preparation was exactly as ordered, i.e. no rare for medium, etc. Someone knows how to use the thermometer properly, a rare find these days. Reasonably priced with simple small tables and chairs arrangement, self-serve drinks with season packets, not dispensers. If you are looking for a fine lunch plate with a tasty beer or tea, Town Hal Burger and Beer will fulfill your needs quite well, I'm sure.

Really enjoyable food. However, be careful of the lunch hour because as you can see from my photo, it took 16 minutes to get my burger. I feel that's far too long for a fast casual to serve customers on their lunch hour. Also, it's a little pricey, especially if you get a specialty burger.

Best burgers in Durham, period. Tons of local and craft beers, very chill environment. They also offer lamb burgers which are seasoned and flavored to perfection. Can absolutely handle low carb or keto options without buns. Pictured is the Mediterranean lamb burger with all the included toppings without a bun, and the Mac and cheese burger in the back. Prepare to take food home because portions on the burgers are generous, but the fresh shoestring fries are just enough to be satisfied.

Walk up counter to order vs served at table... Which would be ok if the space was laid out better. The burgers were fine, but they needed to rest a minute before being placed on the buns because the juices were still running and made the buns soggy. Generous serving with basket of fries for the table. Overall for the price there are much better burger options in the area.

She is the best waitress there which is why I went back a second time . However , after the experience I had with management and their waitress tonight I will not be back again.

SERIOUSLY THE BEST!!! We have not eaten here since they opened, but we were grocery shopping next door and of course hungry so decided to try this joint out again. I hate HATE that we have not been coming here since the beginning. This has quickly become our favorite burger place. The BBQ totes.... amazing. The apple pie.....amazing. The chocolate torte......amazing. Then the burgers, are absolutely fabulous!!! If you like a really juicy quality burger this is the place. They will not disappoint. Side note, in the bar area is full table service, the main entrance is order and then they bring the food to you.

Loved it. The restaurant was packed full of folks that came for the UNC game yet we still received lightning fast service. Add on to that each and every waitress/waiter that walked by asked us if we needed anything else. They worked as a team and it really showed performance wise. Speaking of wise, it'd be just that if you were to drop by if you're ever in town.

They have a good selection of beers and bar full of other stuff. The burgers are tasty and the house chips are excellent. For vegetarians, the black bean burger is good but the spinach and quinoa burger has more flavor. The expansion of the space has made this spot so much better for hanging out a while.

I did like town hall burger and it's a good option before getting into busy areas nearby in Southpoint. Nice and quiet area but they definitely get a crowd at lunch. Food was a little pricey and didn't come with a side or drink so a little disappointed by that but everything came out good.

The spinach quinoa burger is to die for. So many good flavors come together to form a tasty and filling sandwich. I wish it was a more solidparty, though. It needed more of a binding agent to keep it from spilling all over the place. I gladly scooped up the droppings though. It was that good.

I'm currently at the restaurant now and I should have known something was wrong when they delivered the Carolina burger and poutine within 10 minutes of me ordering, everything is cold. It's absolutely disgusting I will update after I inform the wait staff and see how they respond. Update:The manager asked what was wrong and after explaining to him the issue, he removed the plate and 15 minutes later returned with acceptably hot food. I'm a firm believer that the world isn't perfect and we will be judged based on how we react when things go wrong not just when they go right and I can honestly say the staff has gained both my confidence and respect!

Burger was good. Everything else ordered was room temp not hot. Service was varied between inattentive and over attentive. Like 3 people would check on me for about 2 minutes straight when I needed nothing. But when I did need something none of the three bartenders were available or paying attention. Often talking amongst themselves instead of interacting with their guests. Ok place though. I'll try again and hope they improve

I think of a town hall as 'decision by committee', inefficient, and a sort of false sense of democracy. So there may be a theme as to why there's usually a long line and a long wait. Or maybe it's just coincidence. If you order takeout, you will have to wait in line once you get there... And, you'll just stare at your food watching it get cold, waiting behind three or four people deciding what they want, with one register open.... For 15 minutes! I like the food, and it's a nice place. but I get so frustrated by the line, and the system of ordering and then waiting, and then sometimes people clean off your table and then sometimes they don't, I just don't know why they can't just go to a full wait staff. You can get a BLT for $10+, there's many sandwiches here for 12 to $15, it's not exactly a cheap place. Everything else is extra and drinks are self-serve.. but a tip is expected? You wanted fries with your sandwich? That's extra! If you want fries and a drink that's a different combo. The choices and decisions you have to make at the register our part of the slow line. It gets frustrating when something as simple as a burger, fries and a drink is complicated... And expensive. I guess it's analogous to a local Town Hall deciding how to fix a pothole in the road. What makes it more frustrating is that the food is actually quite good (most of the time). there's a fantastic selection of beer, and sometimes the wings are really good too. I wish they could streamline the order process, I would eat here a lot more often.

Average food. Below average service. We went there around dinner time and ordered two different burgers and a side of chili fries. The lamb burger was ordered as “red “ and was served well done and underseasoned. The chili fries were soggy. The beer selection was good. The portion sizes are quite large. Around the time we went, the lines were extremely long, about a 15 minute wait to order the food and then over 30 minutes to receive the food. When we did receive the food we only received half of what we ordered and paid for and had to wait on the line again to remedy the mistake. they have outdoor indoor seating. The parking around the time we went was completely full. I suppose if this were your only option in the area, it would be a reasonable, slightly overpriced dinner. But, if you have other options, explore them!

Great outdoor atmosphere and amazing food. Loved the waffle potato fries and easy going nature of the restraunt. This is definitely a place I will be coming back to. Good for large groups too and the food came out almost instantaneously. Next time I'm definitely getting some wine though and playing more cornhole!

Town Hall is in a convenient location to both Durham and Chapel Hill and has a good number of beers on tap and the burgers are pretty good although a bit small. They will cook to order though which is not always the case. I also enjoyed the waffle cut sweet potato fries and the lamb burger looked good so I'll probably get this next time we go. They do have one last keg of Mystery beer right now since this brewery has closed and a good selection of other local and regional beers. Parking is pretty easy too.

The first time I came here was a let down. I had to send my burger back and I just didn't feel like I got what I paid for and I never went back. That was back when they first opened, fast forward to 2019 and I feel like it's a different place, they have good service and the food was pretty good and the portion size is quite big. The price is still a bit higher than some places but it's right on target for the area they are in. The restaurant is nice and they have a cool dedicated bar area. It's worth a visit if you're in the Southpoint area.

Four stars here because of how expensive they are. The food is amazing and the portions are large, but definitely tough to spend $13 for a hamburger chips and a drink. Do yourself a favor though, the food is good enough to check it out at least once. Hundreds of different combinations of really quality toppings meats and buns and worth checking out at least once.

Had a Mediterranean burger, side salad, and a beer which totaled $24. A bit aggressive pricing considering you're getting about a 50c salad (side salad costs $4). The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. Atmosphere isn't bad, but would probably would go elsewhere for pricing reasons.

Nice beer selection and friendly staff. My wife got a chicken sandwich and it was great. Juicy chicken that had good seasoning. I got wings that were slightly overdone and my child got tenders which turns out to be a breast filet that is breaded, cooked and then cut into tender size pieces. The chicken was still juicy but the breading should have had at least a little salt in it. The chicken ended up tasting floury which makes it feel like it's dry. My wife also got loaded fries which were as to be expected of loaded fries. Overall I would go back and try a burger or chicken sandwich but the wings are nothing special. Guess that's why it's called Town Hall BURGER and not town hall wings.

This is a super friendly place with great burgers, great beer, and a clean eating environment. You'll have to wait a little bit for your burger to come to you, but that's a fair exchange for getting to customize your burger just how you like it and having it made from some really fresh ingredients. It also gives you time to enjoy a brew or two if that's your thing. PLUS, the toilets are clean here, and seem to be kept clean regularly, even as the crowd grows. Bonus!

I was excited to find this suggestion on Google maps as I was visiting the area on a long weekend trip. The reviews were so positive that I could not pass up the opportunity to dine here. Unfortunately my expectations were either too high or the bar is set fairly low in this area. First of all, the concept of ordering at the counter and not having dedicated servers is not what you expect to find at this price point. The order process feels rushed as other customers are lining up behind you. We had to step aside to view the menu board from afar before approaching again. After making our way back to the front of the line, the person working the register failed to acknowledge our existence and the cashier working on an adjacent line called us over. This was odd being that the customer directly before us in the line was served without issue. Upon asking a question related to what product was being showcased on the flashing menu behind the register, the cashier was unable to recall which sandwich was pictured. With all the menu items being a la carte, the total becomes fairly steep rather quickly. A buffalo chicken sandwich, salad, chips, 2 beers ended up costing $35 which is in some cases higher than a traditional sit down restaurant where you are served (including tip). Our issues didn't only exist with the concept and order process, they continued once the ordering process was completed. We chose to sit outside as it was a pleasant evening. The beers arrived fairly quickly and were cold. It could be said they were the highlight of this experience. Next came the delivery of the buffalo chicken sandwich which occurred approximately 5-7 minutes after ordering. As the food runner approached he started yelling "Buffalo Chicken" while he was still a few tables away and totally ruined the ambiance. After the sandwich was placed, I thanked him to which he replied "Mmm hmm". I'm sorry, but I find such a response to be inexcusable when I am a patronage of any type of establishment. Overall the sandwich was good! The size of the chicken breast was very large and the sauce was nicely balanced to be flavorful without over powering the other ingredients. Then came the salad which was delivered approximately 8 mins after the chicken sandwich was. I also have an issue when food items for the same table are delivered individually rather than together. Our dinner consisted of a part of 2, it would not have been that hard to ensure these items came out at the same time. Overall we left feeling disappointed and wonder if we came on an off night or if the others leaving such wonderful reviews have never had the pleasure of a dinning experience where customer service, food quality, and value exist together.

Town hall had a stellar draft selection. I had two different double ipas which are hard to find. The menu is simple. The salads are excellent. There are two sections of the restaurant. The left side has the bar, seating tables, and some games. The right side is kinda like the take out section. There are tables in this area, but no bar (from what I could tell). The staff is attentive and friendly. If you are in the area I would recommend checking it out.

Are you tired of wasting $$$ in expensive, yet ordinary, restaurants? Then give this joint, Town Hall, a try. They serve pricey, yet extraordinary, hamburgers (stacked up to 3 patties high). My first order was a scrumptious, and gust busting, Mac 'n Cheese burger. I made it a combo - a side of chili cheese fries (so-so quality IMO) and a soda (w/ free refills) - and boy was that a TON of food. This place cooks everything made-to-order and has a chill, industrial chic vibe. It even has bottled beer for the 21+ crowd. It wasn't busy when I ate there, but I probably just got lucky. So why not stop on by, watch the game, and try a Town Hall burger today?

The service and outdoor seating here is great. Everyone is friendly and willing to help you make your selection of burger. There was even a corn hole set up outside - took me right back to Ohio days! Also, if you check in via Yelp you can get a free side. The food was meh, I prefer Zinburger. I split a mac and cheese burger which was anticlimactic- it tasted like any other burger - nothing too special. It was a little on the pricey side too. Very tasty burgers that can be made using various protein options including lamb, salmon, and black bean, in addition to more traditional options like ground beef and chicken filets. The dry-rubbed wings are awesome too. For me, the only major downside for this place is the pricing of their food, but at least it's of quality.

It took us nearly an hour to get our food. We ordered hamburgers and French fries, which we thought would be the quickest and simplest items on the menu. Once we got our food, it was decent, but definitely not worth the wait. If you go, go earlier or later than you'd usually dine, otherwise the crowd will just be too large.
