It's too hot in that small building to eat in..and I got just a 1/2 cup of rice with a cup of gravy on it. Other that that food is ok. I prefer Wards though.

Had the smothered porkchops over rice, with sweet potato pudding and cabbage. It was all awesome! All the staff and everyone who walked in for lunch were all very friendly, which is important to me. Plenty of food, with quick service and free refills. Great little place!

Flies and no air conditioning. Wait staff no gloves or hair nets. Omg! It was a turn off. However, lots of traffic came to eat the soul food. I didn't partake. My partner loved it: Turkey wings, collards, sweet potatoes, hush puppies, sweet tea. It cost $8. I guess it was worth it.

My first trip here. I am not originally from the area. Food: I had the fried chicken with cabbage and collards as the side. Side of bbq rib let’s. Served with cornbread fingers. Food was hot, not greasy. All food served in takeout styrofoam containers. Flavor ok. Facility: clean, but some eyesores. Water spots on the ceiling covers. Vents not dusty, but rusty and not flush with ceiling. Cost:$-$$

I don't know whats going on with the food at Sylvias, but it has gone down in taste and quantity. I drove an hour tp have a late lunch there today only to be disappointed across the board. Dined in...The food was half way cold on both of our plates, the cake was cold like straight out of the fridge cold, collards over cooked and the bbq sauce in the meat tasted and looked watered down..it was just straight up nasty. We ate it because we had made the drive and had paid for it, but you can bet on your mom and mine that today was our VERY LAST TIME EVER EATING AT THIS PLACE!!! I regret going

My first time ever at Sylvia's was an amazing experience. The food was so delicious, the restaurant was so clean, and the southern hospitality sure came through in the great state of North Carolina; what they are well known for. If you're ever in the area please do yourself a favor and go and enjoy several of Sylvia's amazing dishes. I will vouch for her food any day of the week.. and that's coming from the upper East Coast. # my pleasure #ladylightloves.
