So good. The stone bowls were beautiful with choice of protein and all kinds of veggies, topped off with an over easy egg. Yum. Served with 7 different condiments: 2 kinds of kim chee, fried sushi, seaweed salad, daikon salad, takuwan, and potatoes. Comfort food at its best.

My wife and I now have an addiction to the stone owls served here. We heard about this dish on a food Network show and we're excited to find a place near us that served it. There are plenty of other dishes here but I live the stone bowls so much I have never ordered anything else. Bowl consists of whatever protein you pick, rice, carrots, zucchini, bean sprouts, an egg, and it's brought out in a special bowl that is extremely hot and is still cooking the contents throughout your meal. The bowl gives the rice a char and makes it crunchy, it is amazing and unique.

This place was a pleasant surprise. After hearing from friends that the Korean place in downtown Asheville wasn't really up to par, we looked around for another Korean place. Wasn't expecting much but the food here was excellent. The restaurant was definitely short staffed, but the two waitresses were literally running around the restaurant tending to all the customers. Service was great. I ordered a jjang bong noodle soup, and my sister ordered the Seafood Tofu soup. The broth of the tofu soup was really flavorful. It was probably the best Korean Seafood Tofu soup I've ever had. The Jjang Bong was pretty good. It came out in this huge bowl so the portion size was really good. You also get 8 side dishes for free as most Korean restaurants do. Would highly recommend this place.

Syntax Error

I was surprised when I found a Korean BBQ in Asheville. Having never visited the area I only knew the area had a lot of art influence, but no idea about the diversity of the food in the area. I ordered the Bulgogi which came with a few sides, and soup. Overall the Bulgogi was good, the sides were good as well, but nothing amazing. For an unplanned stop while traveling I was happy to have stumbled across this place. Service was decent, there were times where the waitress wasn't around for a bit, but overall everything was taken care of. The food came out quickly and everything was well prepared. Some of the sides were a little lacking in flavor, but I've found that the sides really vary more than the entrees do when it comes to Korean BBQ. The food was priced about average compared to Korean BBQ's back home in Texas. If I make it back out in that area again, I will visiting again. It was good enough to make a return visit.

I always like this place. But beware that parties of 5 or more get popped with 18% gratuity automatically. I almost double tipped. Feels like being cheated. In addition, they were busy and service was sub par.

I ordered the pork belly Stone Bowl to go and I just got pieces of an egg white mixed in. On the bottom was a piece of wilted lettuce. I only got small pieces of pork.Makes me wonder if I had someone else's leftovers

I previously lived in Atl, near Buford Highway which is home to Atl's best ethnic cuisine. I experienced some pretty amazing Korean food in Atl. So when I 1st walked into the restaurant and realized I was the only one there, I panicked briefly. I reassured myself that it was worth the 20 min drive, lol. Boy was I right, soon after, people started to slowly trickle in and fill out the place. I ordered the Beef bulgogi and pan fried veggie dumplings. Very good. Adequate portion sizes for the price. I love the banchans, they were delicious. Didn't like the music, didn't really go with the vibe of the place. But, the staff was very attentive and friendly. I will be going back there before I move out of state.

I was craving kimchi and something spicy on a recent mountain vacation and this place satisfied both of those cravings. I was also in search of a place where my mother and I could eat that would satisfy her but also give me a few vegetarian options. This place ticked all of my boxes. Firstly, the sides were amazing. There was kimchi, daikon kimchi, gimbap, potatoes, and three other sides that were in the pickled vegetable category. All delicious. My mother ordered the stir fried udon and she said it was great. I ordered a kimchi stone bowl, and honestly it has been one of the best meals I've had in the past few months, I can't get it off my mind. I can't speak for how authentic the food is, but from my point of view it was one of the best Korean restaurants I've been to. There is gochujang? on the table for you to adjust the spice level to your taste, but do be aware that some of the dishes come spicy already. Just so you know how good it is, we went around lunchtime and there were a few other tables filled as well, but no one was talking. Everyone was so into the food that all you heard was the sounds of the sizzling stone bowls and the people sniffling because of the spice. If it isn't going to clear out my sinuses, then it's not spicy enough. Love this place. Seriously trying to plan a trip to Asheville ASAP just so I can eat here again.

One of the better Korean restaurants in the state, let alone Asheville. Ask for the very spicy sauce if you're into that sort of thing, you won't be disappointed. Service is great, food is freaking amazing - authentic, good portions for the money and quality, their stone bowls are obviously a fun and delicious experience (try the bul go gi) but you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu if you know what you're looking at. People new to Korean food should probably avoid the hot pot, and definitely ask for help or an explanation of how things work if you order the stone bowls.

Best Food you can put in your mouth! In case you don't know, Stone Bowl is how they serve certain dishes; in a very hot stone bowl. Your food stays hot and continues to fry your rice. You can stir the food or leave it sit and your rice becomes more and more fried (up to you). My wife and I shared a pork stone bowl and a beef entree. Both were amazing and the sides, like 10, were all fresh and very tasty. The servers were very friendly and the ambience is nice. Don't let the fact that it is in a strip center keep you away. FANTASTIC!

We have enjoyed many good meals here, but the new random up charges added to the bills make for any unpleasant experience. One day gratuity added because 5 people are at the table, but another day 5 people and no gratuity charge, but charged $9 for refills on side dishes. I would understand if there was a clear system to additional charges on the menu, but not just random ones created at the whim of the owner.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. The atmosphere was comfortable and the restrooms were clean. We lived in Korea for a year and one of the things we noticed about Korea was its outstanding customer service. We can say that our server gave us the very same excellent service. She was charming and informative and kept our water glasses full. At first we were skeptical about the food, but were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We will be eating at the Stone Bowl again as well as recommending it to friends and family.

I had the Salmon Stone Bowl with Kimchi. The waitress brought out, like 5 mini bowls of delicious kimchi samplers with sushi included!! It was delicious. The bowl was steaming and simmering and I got to literally watch the food "cook" in the stone bowl right there on the table! And the atmosphere was great. I'm so glad we found this place because it is truly spectacular. The atmosphere and music they play makes this a relaxing and cozy place. The waitresses we had were so sweet and attentive. We both had stone bowls and they were so delicious. I had the beef stone bowl and my husband had the seafood one. I also love all the extra sides that they bring you with the meal. We will definitely be back for more.

I have been going here for years. Being from the Pacific Northwest it is very difficult to find authentic Asian cuisine in the mountains. This restaurant and the workers take pride in their work. I have been to the stone bowl many times and have enjoyed the food, but twice now I have had the waiter came out and asked us why we tipped what we did? Now I have worked in the service industry for years and I tip 10% for basic service. Thats what you will get here basic service nothing amazing. I don't know about you but if you don't receive amazing service 10% is alot to give. My wife went back into the restaurant this time and asked for the manager. Asking why would you send your staff chase your customers over their tips. They gave her some sob story. Then said well they get paid 2.50 an hour their tips are what they live on. There is the problem you pay them berly anything you expect them to give amazing service. I will never go back here and will never suggest anyone to go here. The food is not that amazing to warrant this kind of unprofessional behavior of the staff and management. I would give a negative star if I could. All I can do is warn others of the practices of the most unprofessional restaurant I have ever been to.

I was here a few years ago and was impressed but not anymore. The portions are now small only filling half the bowl. I like the hot stone bowl idea but the bowl was so stupid hot the food got burned. We were forced to continue stirring everything till it was an overcooked mess and still had to wait for at about 20 minutes for it to cool enough to eat. Thankfully there were the complements to nibble on something while we waited
