REVIEWS OF Saint Jacques IN North Carolina

Saint Jacques is a super lovely restaurant that really knows what it is doing. If you are going to be a high end French restaurant and charge accordingly, you better hit the marks expected. Saint Jacques does it all. On my last visit I had the duck and it was perfectly paired with just the right piperade blend. A lovely evening.

We celebrated my boy friend's birthday today on May 14th. I tried the French cuisine the very first time. The food was amazing. Delicious I should say. The service was on point. Every dish made my day. I was in love with my plate, my food and the chef ❤️ Saint Jacques and the chef made our day

Lynell Eaddy

Wow! Wonderful flavor profiles! Immense respect for ingredients. Likely the best restaurant in Raleigh.

Clayson List

This is our second time coming here, both times on Valentine's Day and it didn't disappoint. It is a bit pricey but it is worth every penny. The staff was very attentive, the chef brought us our appetizer, and the entire experience was fine dining at its best.

Sara Stevens

Great service, fantastic food, good wine selection. Saint Jacques delivers a fabulous experience on every level. The chef will almost certainly make an appearance at your table and the food is unparalleled in the area. Don't let the unpretentious location fool you; this restaurant is a fine dining pleasure.

natalya rashchupkina

Dinner was delicious and the experience was really special. I highly recommend it.

We have been eating at Saint Jacques since it opened in the early 2000's. The food and the service are consistently superb. It is definitely worth the money and is a lovely experience. The food is classically French with adjustments for what fresh produce and meats/fish are available. It reminds me of the ethos of Jacques Pepin who has French food and technique as the backbone yet still adds modern touches and accents from different food genres

Kim Carson

C'est trees magnifique! What wonderful experience! The food was incredible as was the service. The amuse-bouche was delightful - what a treat to get to meet the Chef behind such delicious food. More then just a feast it was an experience. Thank you so much!

Sheena Alexander

Everything here was amazing. They also put a special touch with roses!

So the weirdest thing happened. I called to make a reservation for this Saturday and someone from the restaurant answered. When I asked about making a reservation they transferred the call to someone and I could very clearly hear in the back ground "an Indian wants a reservation". Like WTF? Not to mention when transferred that the restaurant did not have an open spot at my time *miraculously*. Why are you guys limiting my identity to the nationality based on my accent?

Emily Hermann

Our dinner at Saint Jacques was truly incredible. The staff was extremely courteous and the food was delicious and so different! The atmosphere was perfect for a romantic night and everything was reasonably priced for the experience and the huge portions! The frog legs are delicious- don’t be intimidated! Will definitely go back for other fancy occasions.

Diane Schaaf

Very disappointing--must have been an off day. The beef bourguinon was fatty (unpleasant to bite into fat) and should have been trimmed in the kitchen. It was hard to see it as it was covered with sauce. Wine served with lunch (should have been served before). I will not order that entree again.

Paul Barton

The exquisitely prepared and presented French cuisine (the best I've enjoyed anywhere outside of Paris) is served by a friendly, attentive staff in a delightfully relaxing atmosphere. There's no hurry, and you will have no idea that you're in a strip mall as soon as you step inside the restaurant front door. Deserts are decadently delicious and the wine list excellent. This is high end dining, with prices to match, yet well worth every penny. Tonight was our first visit, and we will definitely be back again. Soon!

Phillip Creech

Delicious classic French food, upscale, good for a romantic dinner and with excellent service

Inez Wallace

We had an excellent first experience here. We loved the French onion soup, the oyster/shrimp appetizer, the short rib and the filet. We got the s’mores dessert with coffee, an old fashioned and a few glasses of wine. Everything was absolutely delicious. The amuse bouche brought out by the chef and the pallete cleanser were an added nice touch. Beyond everything, our server Ken provided excellent service, hospitality and humor. We will absolutely be back soon.

M Ray

Better than the food was the chef- he was just delightful! I will be coming back to try other menu items.

Andrea Hurley

Very good food!! Wonderful service. It was a busy night but worth the wait. We will be back.

Paul Cooper

Really good food, the escargot was quite good. Plus the service was top notch. Bring a fat wallet.

Michelle Roy

Amazing! Don’t let the location deter you from experiencing Saint Jacques. Deceiving from the outside. Food and service were impeccable. The little touches and extras from the chef make it a favorite place.

James King

Delicious food and perfect service. It made a happy night even more wonderful.

Kaylaa T. Blackwell

Wonderful find, delicious food and friendly staff and chef

Hans Rumble

Of the four times that I've been, I only had reservations one of those times and still managed to be seated fairly quickly (I have only been to Saint Jacques on Thursdays and Fridays). Each time I go, the wait staff does an amazing job of explaining dishes and specials. They even offer great suggestions and wine parings.

Jessica Dime

Food is very good. The location is in a mall

Michael Mutal

This is a wonderful French Restaurant, comportable to any of the fine restaurants of Los Angeles. A must for any lovers of French cuisine.

Deborah Glidden

Absolutely spectacular! A meal at St. Jacques is an incredible experience of the finest in the culinary arts! The amazing flavors, service, ambiance, and talented, personable chef created an unforgettable evening!

Katelyn Geltzeiler

Don't let the outside fool you! This quaint, authentically French restaurant is located in a strip mall, but inside is adorable and perfect for date night. The menu is a bit limited, but offers French dishes for every pallet. The duck was divine and the scallop vol-au-vent was extremely decadent. Also, don't skip the homemade desserts!

Sue Weems

Great service and good food.

iscore47

Upscale staff and fare. Unrushed service and relaxing atmosphere in a surprising location.

Brandy Wilson

My favorite place for quality French food. i'll return with my relatives.

Glen Wright

The food was outstanding! Everything was cooked just right and came out in a timely fashion. The chef did a great job ensuring that baby portions of the meal had a lighter component to keep them from being too heavy. The wait staff was super attentive, but without being intrusive at the same time. We never saw the bottom of our water glasses! It's definitely a great place to eat if you're looking for somewhere to go for a special occasion.

Shawn

Its a really nice place. I just think for the money there are other places I've enjoyed more. The highlight of the night for me was the soup of the day, a cold curry chickpea soup.

Galen Ring

I have visited Saint Jacques several times in the past 15 years. It is consistently good and it is a restaurant experience that showcases the quality of the food and the charm of exceptional service. In the days of over the top, trendy, niche, foodie over priced restaurants, this one is all about the non-pretentious style of first class dining. Special occasion kind of place. Would recommend anything in the menu. French theme very nice as we lived in France for 3 years.

MR B

Hands down the best french food i have ever had in my life. The Chef was awesome, great presentation, great taste, great service.... I think this place made my wife love me a little more.

Martha Spencer

Can't believe I'd never been before. Charming. Food was so-so.

Molli Matheny

Absolutely fabulous experience! The food, the kind and knowledgeable server Erin and delightful atmosphere. Thank you for a wonderful evening! See you all again soon!!

this restaurant is five stars

I love that they had so many vegetarian and pescatarian options. I didn't feel like the menu limited me at all, which is rare at ANY restaurant. The wait staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and the chef was very nice when he brought out the amuse bouche. We don't get to go out to fine dining often, and even if my ettiquette were not 100% up to par, they made me feel comfortable and welcome. Google's driving directions aren't great, by the way. It's in a strip mall with a Harris Teeter, and you have to go in on the side of the building opposite what Google tells you (as of July 2018).

Stacy Lee

The chef always personally comes to the table with a special treat, quite impressive on a date. My boyfriend is allergic to nuts & seafood, and is gluten sensitive. They are always AMAZING about his diet restrictions, and very respectful and helpful with recommendations. Can’t recommend this place enough!! Very authentic European homey feel ❤️

Tiffany Andrews

We first experienced Serge, the chef's, cooking while dining at his restaurant in Paris. We enjoyed the food and the overall experience, so we returned on several other visits to Paris. Serge moved to Raleigh several years ago and thankfully we can once again enjoy his efforts in the kitchen. The service is professional, and the wine list has been thoughtfully created to match the typically French dishes offered. We would definitely recommend this quality restaurant.

Andreas Willis

We had dinner here for our anniversary, and it was a wonderful experience. The food and service were both exceptional. They took care in listening to what we said, and I was thrilled that they had a vegetarian menu. We would definitely visit here again. What a special meal! Not a single detail was missed. It was evident the staff was expertly trained and the chef takes much pride in his work. The food was delicious!

Alaina Anttila

We went to Saint Jacques to celebrate my birthday as I had come across it while searching for French restaurants in the Triangle. Our experience was as memorable as it was excellent in both service and food. Every course was phenomenal-we all agree it was the among the best meals we’d ever had. We also greatly appreciated the chef coming out and talking with us about our experience. Will come back and enjoy this unique dining experience again soon!

erik lars myers

Every time I eat here it's one of the best meals I've ever had. Put three hours aside and have an amazing time. You're welcome.

qlanemp

Perfect evening! I proposed to my girlfriend here and the entire staff made the night elegant and surreal. The chef was amazing, from special cocktails and entrees, to the hand crafted desserts. White linen tables adorned with fresh floral bouquets, along with exquisite attention to every detail. I will absolutely return here to recapture these memories year after year. Thank you Saint Jacques!

Pancham k

I just moved from Germany and this place brought back memories. The European design looked amazing, just what I needed. The staff was AMAZING and one of the girls complimented me on how beautiful I look. The food was EXCEPTIONAL , Frog legs, Beef ribs and shrimp and grits. All of the food was so good it had me speechless. Compliments to the chef and the wonderful staff. I will return to enjoy a classy night. This place is upscale, so dress and act according. One last thing the restaurant should be on a street that's more classy. The location isn't fit for such a spectacular restaurant. It's not a bad street just belong somewhere else.

Sriram Sridhar

Came here to celebrate my birthday with my wife. Love this place primarily because they have so many veggie options for a French restaurant (which is almost unheard of)! Very cosy settings and excellent waitstaff also...

Sarah Gould

So special and over the top delicious every single time. The chef always goes above and beyond to make gluten and dairy free options. Love this place so much.

Ophelia Rose de Papillon

Good food. Good service. The chef even came out to say hello and make sure everyone was enjoying their food. Good vegetarian options!

Jerry P

Always superb food and service. Tonight was no exception. We go to Saint Jacques for special occasions; birthdays, Valentine's Day, anniversaries. It's that good and that special.

Princessgirl Pongyart

Went there for my birthday this evening. Great food great service. Everything was magnificent and phenomenal. I was speechless and touched about the quality of this place. It completed my 29th without any doubt. No one else will ever beat this place. Started off from appetizer, soup, main courses till dessert and drinks for this special occasion. Very very impressed. Ps. 10/5 stars. I loved the guy who served me today a lot. Can't even remember his name. Very very professional and kind.

As a Durham dweller, when it comes to French food, my heart lies with Vin Rouge. My husband and I decided to dine at Saint Jacques to compare the two just to make sure we were not missing out. SJ has a coat check, which is rare and nice to have this time of year. Wine list is impressive as is their appetizer selection so we decided to have a tapas kind of night. Escargot, French onion soup, smoke salmon, frog legs, and mussels. Chef Serge greeted us with an Amuse Bouche, which elevates this experience to fine dining along with the palate cleanser we were given between courses. Our server was very professional yet personable and allowed time for us to enjoy our evening. The technique and attention given to each dish was impressive. I can honestly say I have never had a mussel cooked so well and the escargot is the best I have had to date. This is fine French food at its best and worthy of Paris standards. Prices are on par for the quality you are given and we left full and happy. For me, I prefer the bistro style atmosphere of Vin Rouge with its loud kitchen and smoke filled rooms. I highly recommend Saint Jacques if you are looking for more of an intimate setting where you can talk with your partner and wonder how you have not killed each other yet.

Brandon

Best French food in Raleigh and worth every penny.

Danica Hershey

Not sure how this place got such good reviews. Place looks outdated. Hardly full when we went. Food started out good but then we got our entree there was a fly that landed on top and crawled through the dish until we finally squashed it on the table. Felt to bad to say anything. Dessert was good. Service was good but a little to slow for my style. Definitely does not compare to other top restaurants in downtown Raleigh

Thelma Gordon

french food and the scene at this place is super good. i was super full. definitely worth a return visit. the place has a nice feel to it.

Manon Villeneuve

Fine dining experience and awesome service!

Steve Hess

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Saint Jacques last night and had a truly enchanting and memorable experience. Stepping through the front door, we left the strip mall (it's located in) behind and were transported to a french bistro. As others have mentioned, the attentiveness was excellent and the ambience perfect. We were visited by the chef twice during our meal and once as we were leaving. He has been at St. Jacques for about a year and was thoroughly charming (and French!). Food was out of this world! This will replace Vinnie's as our special occasion venue of choice. It says something that, out of 90+ reviews (at time of my posting) only 4 of them were graded with less than 4 stars. ENJOY!!

Thuy Dang

Fancy but not very pricy, food is delicious

Amy Smathers

One of the best French dining experiences I have had! The food, drinks, and staff are phenomenal!

Taylor Williams

I was there for the wine tasting dinner last night, and it did not disappoint! The wine was good, the food was delicious. The mushroom quiche was out of this world! I could eat it every day.

Cynthia Goldberg

My son took me to St. Jacques for a belated Mother's Day dinner. The food was excellent, the service was immaculte, and the ambiance was perfect.

Amie Holko

We just came for desserts. The chocolate butternut cake with krupnikas honey liquor ice cream was on point. The s’mores dessert was good, VERY rich. Their coffee is some of the best I’ve had and the service is top notch.

Ivy W

I remember when I brought my husband here I though “French place in a strip mall ?” But I was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent. The waitstaff is very kind and professional. I loved their selection of baked bread they bring to the table. I had escargot and it was cooked well and seasoned properly, it was a little too garlicky for my taste but still pretty good. Everything was nice including the ambience. I look forward to dining there again!

Trey Thompson

This dining experience was exactly what I wanted for my birthday. The quality was bar none. The service was excellent. We had constant, but appropriate attention throughout the meal. When our entree came out over cooked they were refited without second question. The final cook was perfect; noting the typical temps requested by locals. When asking for the house wine the waitress pointed me to two to three selections that we're in my taste range, but not overly expensive. I left with a smile on my face and a full tummy. 5/5 would recommend to anyone of any food experience.

Leonard Weismeyer

Good food

Debi Ridder

Outstanding does not do it justice. Great service and great food. We have eaten in many top end restaurants in France and St. Jacques is equal or above almost all of them. The beef short ribs, frog legs, Coquille St,Jacques, are incredible. Ken and Nick were outstanding. It is expensive but very much worth it.

Detrick Clark

The food is extremely good and the service is equally memorable. My wife and I love this place and always enjoy going.

Amber Lehman

Don't let the strip mall location fool you--this is some of the BEST food in the area. Food was amazing (and we are critical of food) and service was excellent. Every course was a delight! As a larger party it was a solid 3 hour experience but none of us felt it. Just delightful all around, I can't wait to go back!

Elless Graphics

Great dining experience, food and staff were perfect. Only bad thing I can say is, location is strange. But once you walk through the door you will have a truly amazing dining experience.

Daniel Motley

The food was fantastic, however, I am incredibly disappointed with the service quality once a matter was escalated to management. This manager, whom I believe the name was Will, acted incredibly condescending to my request of the Petit …

Wright Atwater

Eaten here several times and always such a treat. Wonderful service and meal and a pleasing atmosphere for a special birthday or anniversary celebration. If you love French cuisine this is a place you’ve got to try. Lunch is also a treat here, and the restaurant is very rarely crowded mid day. Dining at Saint Jacques was perfection. Every detail from service to a personal visit from the chef was beyond expectation. The chef is from Paris who obviously loves food and makes his customers feel special.

Susan Behrend

Always our first choice for our anniversary. Absolutely perfectly prepared fish, great suggestions on wine and delicious and original desserts.

Guy Orgambide

Fantasti-que! Being French, I always expect the cuisine of a French restaurant to be… French! I had been disappointed in the past by other local French-themed restaurants whose cuisine was fine but lacked in sophistication or authenticity. Therefore, when a gourmet friend of mine told me that Saint Jacques was the best French restaurant around, I headed there with some circumspection. I was wrong. Saint-Jacques is indeed the best and truest French restaurant around. Chef Serge Falcoz-Vigne’s cuisine is as elaborate and authentic as French standards demand. We picked the Fromage de chêvre chaud gratiné et canard fûmé, the Coquille Saint Jacques, the Carré d'agneau rôti en croûte, and the Filet mignon de boeuf, à la Rossini, and each of these was a marvel in its own way. The sauces were out of this world. The service was impeccable, yet warm, and the chef took the time to visit each and every table, which was a very nice touch. Merci, Chef, for a wonderful evening of gastrono-mie!

Joe Zatkoff

A very authentic french restaurant. The food and environment were great. The staff was so friendly, and the chef even came out and personally introduced himself. I would highly recommend to anyone in search of a great dinning experience.

Bat Travis

This is a lovely small French restaurant located in an otherwise nondescript shopping center. We were in the area and stopped in for a delicious lunch finishing with a marvelous chocolate mousse. The prices were reasonable, the presentation was beautiful and the service was superb.

Tamal Chakraborty

the food - is very good .. but can definitely work on the serving size . i mean if i am spending over $100 bucks i better have a decent dinner and not go home hungry . the service - exemplary . my special steak was near perfect until i tasted the charred corners and asked for a second without being burnt and the maître d'hôtel was so literally sad that he could cry when i sent it back the second time when it came out chewy like a shoe sole. the ambience - well it was gloomy as hell and quiet like a funeral . the line was in a very sad state ..begging for a change and a steam clean and press.

Brady n Krystal Ambrose

When I went there I was kind of shocked of the location. But inside is decent. You will wait longer then any other restaurant to eat in between the meals HOWEVER the 5 stars is for the food! Wonderful! Now this place needs to get there own nice building and this place would be even better.

David Evanoff

Excellent food and service. Top notch despite being in a strip center. One of the finest meals I have had in Raleigh. Our waiter was top notch just wonderful at providing an excellent dining experience.

Alicia Goldsby

Prepare to be transported to a food lovers heaven. I was a little worried whether I was in for a joke walking up to this place next to a Chinese restaurant & a Harris Teeter. Trust me, once inside you are in another world. The chef brought out a delicious amuse-bouche and from the first bite I knew this place was no joke. The flavors are pronounced, vibrant, and most of all yummy. Be sure to get your fill of the rosemary bread and the honey cranberry bread. It was a 5 star meal and a luxury experience from the wait staff. I love that the chef took time to come visit every table at some point. This food is worth the trip, make a reservation and drive from wherever you are to experience the best French restaurant in the south.

Gina Riccobono

Perfect experience. Food was incredible + the service was top-notch. It's always nice to have servers who make gentle suggestions about menu options & can keep their personalities/humor about them. I joked that we were there for my partner's 70th (not even close to his actual age) + when this (see pic) came to our table we cracked up. The beef bourguignon was incredible. The duck was incredible. The French onion soup was incredible. Get their version of a smore for dessert-- even if you don't like marshmallow. It. Was. Divine. We'll be back ASAP. Until then, we'll be thinking about every bit of food we had there.

Geoffrey Selzer

Food was good, but too expensive. Wait staff didn't know how to pronounce name of several dishes and didn't know much about wine.

Lynn Mitchener

Fabulous French cuisine. Comfortable setting personalized by a chat with the chef who takes the time to chat at all tables. Love this restaurant

nin jason

Great food that is unique. My wife and I enjoyed talking to the chef who came out to greet us and explain his inspiration for the dishes we chose.

leslie rodgers

Saint Jacques is a wonderful restaurant. Located in a strip mall in between Mobley's and Great Clips, it isn't the most glamorous of locations. However, that location lends itself to easy and free parking. Parking is a concern of mine since I'm an 80 year old in a mid 30s body. The interior is warm and inviting. Everyone working was top notch to match the delicious food. I'm not a dessert person but make room for it here. While neither of us had food allergies, that was one of the first things that was asked. Therefore, the staff seems quite attentive to dietary restrictions. This restaurant is a must go to any Raleigh local.

Gary Behrend

Superbly prepared dishes, excellent and well informed service.

Kevin Allen

Consistent and decent, this bistro feels like it's hardly changed in 20 years. Both the quiche and the crepe of the day were very good.

Maria Bais

Love the food... full of surprises! Excellent customer service and the Chef is simply amazing! Every dish that was served was unexplainably delicious. Literally ordered a 3 course meal and I’m very selective with my food. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that would like to try something new.

Caitlyn Shutts

This place is amazing. They haven't won awards for nothing.

Dempsey Elks

Excellent. Great experience.

Craig Donley

The best Restaurant I've ever eaten too

Lance Odvody

It's a quick trip to Paris. There is a little bubble that you enter into once seated and Raleigh outside disappears for a bit.

Prescott Hilda

We took our son and his fiance for a celebration dinner a few weeks ago. He is a chef in Colorado and was anxious to try this food, since his specialty is french cuisine. From the moment we walked in the door until we left several hours later we were impressed. Our server was wonderful. We chose a lot of different dishes from the menu and NONE of them disappointed us.We had a very enjoyed evening of dining and celebration - and will return again!

Ann Rivera

This was our first visit to St. Jacques to celibate a special birthday. The strip mall location was a bit unusual for a restaurant of this quality, but do not let this detour you. The atmosphere was very nice with a solid French theme and very attentive service. We started with specialty cocktails and found them to be good although a bit light on the base alcohol. We were then offered a savory Amuse Bouche which was very tasty and set the tone for the meal to come.

Kerry Graham

This is our second time coming here, both times on Valentine's Day and it didn't disappoint. It is a bit pricey but it is worth every penny. The staff was very attentive, the chef brought us our appetizer, and the entire experience was fine dining at its best.

Diane Lynn

Small menu. Slightly disappointed. Thought they'd have a few more entrees. Particularly with bearnaise sauce. Grouper was excellent but served with too strong vegetables (beets & onions) that to me overwhelmed the fish. Would have been better on plate of grits, mashed or beans of some kind & a rich sauce.

James Glasser

Without exaggeration, supper at Saint Jacques in Raleigh, NC was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious in taste and delightful in presentation. Each dish was a work of art; each bite an adventure in taste. The service was superb and the environment sublime. Our celebration was very much enabled and enhanced by our dining experience at Saint Jacques! *****

Jean Jeannie

One of the best meals of my life! If you eat at only 1 fancy place this year, make it Saint Jacques. The staff is fully trained in what fine dinning was and should still be. Forget dinner at some new "restaurant of the week" downtown, eat …

Tiffany Donley

I selected this place to celebrate my birthday and I was not by any means dissappointed with my decision and choice. From the moment I walked through the door, the host was standing there with a warm welcome as if he was anticipating and awaiting my arrival. Though I didn't have a reservation as this was my first time, he politely said no problem and I was immediately seated. The host then offered to take our coats and handed me and my husband each a menu directly in our hands and begin to tell us about the specials for the evening. He immediately brought us out water without asking and begin to take our order. We order two appetizers, one was a hot one, and the other one was a cold one. As he went to place the order, the chef came out of nowhere and brought us a sample plate of something which was on the house and he officially welcomed and thanked us for coming. Not long after we finished our sample, our waiter came by with a basket if assorted breads and creamed salt butter and they were like light snacks and full of flavor. Within 5-6 minutes the chef came back out again and brought our appetizers and even chatted with us about the dishes. Needless to say, both appetizers were delicious. After the waiter removed our plates, about 5-6 minutes later another waiter came to our table with a little plate of sorbert and said that this given to cleanse our pallets before the main meal and it was good and refreshing. Last but not least the Chef himself brought out our main entrees and with one bite and taste, we were persuaded that St. Jaques would become our GO TO PLACE for true authentic fine dining. You don't just dine here, but they truly give you an EXPERIENCE that you will not soon forget. So of course, I was excited to order dessert and since the food is so light and doesn't have you feeling full and bloated, you actually have room to sample dessert, and once again, they demonstrated class and elegance with what I chose plus they bought me out a birthday plate with a beautiful swan puff pastry. You truly will not be disappointed with this place in no area and my bill was not bad at all for two people. Plus when you receive 5 star service like this, who cares about the price because they really give you your money's worth!! All I can say is that you will leave there saying " I AM IN LOVE"

Emmanuel Valenzuela

If you are a foodie or want a memorable dinner don't miss this! It's pleasing to the eye and worth every mouthful! It is a meal I will always remember. I talked about it for days. The Tavern serves in a more casual atmosphere with access to both menus. The main dining area is more formal and perfect for special occasions. This is one you don't want to miss. The wait staff was terrific without hovering. The Tavern is suitable for families

George K

Superb gem of a restaurant, in an unassuming strip mall in Raleigh. Don't let the stripped down, classic French decor fool you, you are about to have an outstanding French cuisine experience. Once we were seated, the (obviously French) chef greeted us, explained the menu, and checked in on us on a couple of occasions to offer some superb amuse bouches and ensure we were enjoying our meal. Knowledgeable, friendly & attentive staff, well curated wine list, delectable dishes. Special occasion or not, make sure to hit Saint Jacques when you're in town.

richard miller

This is our go-to special event restaurant in Raleigh. Don't be turned off by location in strip mall; the inside is classy and clean, and the food is incredible. Locally-sourced menu frequently changes keeping it exciting, but with a few French staples always available (pate, mussels, onion soup).

Judi Upchurch

Loved the food. Area makes you question the evening. They could update the place to make it more accommodating to the $$$ price tag. Service was excellent. Dress code was not enforced as expected so that was dissatisfying given the $200 bill for 2.

Lj V

Exceptional service and food

Kathy Wynegar

This was such a wonderful treasure to find. It is true French cuisine with impeccable service. Everything is made from scratch and to die for. Lunch is an incredible bargain with seafood crepes, the lightest and fluffiest quiche Lorraine ever made with real greyere cheese. This is always our must go place when we are in North Raleigh.

Tyler Leigh

Words cannot begin to describe how amazing this place is. If you are a fan of French cuisine, or fine dining in general, this has to be on your must-do list in Raleigh. Two of the best meals I've ever had in my life were had here. It's a great spot to celebrate any special occasion, and everyone at the restaurant is just awesome. From the moment you sit down, you're in for a truly incredible experience that is worth every penny.

Robert Dubuque

Very romantic. Best place for a special occasion. Food is exceptional. Service is outstanding.

Amir Karshenas

Don’t be misled by the retail plaza surroundings - this is one of the best restaurants in Raleigh! We had dinner for a special occasion with a group of people visiting Raleigh and this dinner was one of the highlights of their visit. Truly a great memory! I highly recommend this restaurant - it’s a gem hidden in plain sight! Delicious from the first course to the last. Fine dining without the pretentious attitude. Can’t wait to go back!

Jim White

Wine dinners, cooking classes in a lovely setting.

We had an excellent first experience here. We loved the French onion soup, the oyster/shrimp appetizer, the short rib and the filet. We got the s’mores dessert with coffee, an old fashioned and a few glasses of wine. Everything was absolutely delicious. The amuse bouche brought out by the chef and the pallete cleanser were an added nice touch.Beyond everything, our server Ken provided excellent service, hospitality and humor. We will absolutely be back soon.

Don't be fooled by the location. Saint Jacques has an elegant atmosphere and delicious food! Will definitely go back again!

Simply delicious. The perfect place for a date night!

We just went to St. Jacques for my husband's birthday and it was really an incredible dining experience. The service was warm and gracious, and they made my husband feel special from the moment we arrived. The food was outstanding, also. …

I won't say much because I am not a french cuisine expert but- this place knocked my socks off! Are you sure we can't tack on an extra 6th star here?? I went to France early this year and my experience here took me back in an instant. It's love. The service was top notch, the ambiance was superb, and the food was exquisite. I hold a value on the top Chef caring so much about his product that he walks around and inquires with customers. I mean, it also made me feel a bit important too :) My favorite taste was of a baked cheesy scallop and shrimp appetizer. I am salivating as I reminisce. Next would be the chocolate mousse dessert. If the establishment is ok with it, I'd go there as a dessert destination. And I have to mention that the wine, and bread, and main dishes were all incredible as well! The only small thing that was less that exceptional was the duck. I have on a different occasion had duck of better integrity. That being said, the duck was still great! Oh that sauce.. I want to go back and explore more of the menu... Oh me oh my!

My husband took me on a surprise date, and I was definitely surprised by the exterior of the restaurant. DO NOT LET IT FOOL YOU! When we walked inside the atmosphere was so fancy. The food was incredible, the staff was so accommodating and friendly. What is unique to this place is that the family is truly French, and they actually plan frequent trips to France and will guide you throughout the trip. I'd love to go someday.

Treat a meal here like an event. You are allowed the time to savor every dish, as you should, because the food was top notch. Although we could not afford to eat here constantly (sadly) it is perfect for a special occasion or if you just want to indulge in a great meal.

Kathy Eckhardt

Excellent food , great setting and staff

Diane Aull

The food is exquisite; the service is exemplary; the atmosphere is elegant without being pretentious. It is an expensive night out, but Saint Jacques is rapidly becoming our go-to destination for special occasions. Definitely worth checking it out!

Stopped in for a special lunch with my mother yesterday. Service was excellent, food was sublime. In my signature crepe, the scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly. My mother loved her quiche Lorraine. Dessert was divine as well. Worth the drive to North Raleigh.

Marie Volcie Paul

Great service. This is a small but quaint french restaurant.

Decadent meal! A great treat for a special occasion. Everything was delicious.

Lovely little fine dining restaurant. Was here for a drug talk but it was an extremely nice experience. Amazing palate cleansers between dishes. I highly recommend choosing this place for dates or special events. Menu is in both French and English. I met the chief and he is authentic French! Very cool!

Matt Wilson

This is my favorite restaurant in the triangle. The food is always outstanding and the service is attentive. The wine list is a great blend of wines from various regions and pricing that will match almost any budget.

Jacob Hensley

Elegant atmosphere, love the FOOD!

Marie McClellan

One of the best restaurant in Raleigh. Everything was cooked perfectly. Presentation was top notch. Perfect atmosphere, friendly staff, and Serge is a first class chef. No need for salt and pepper shakers on the tables. You won't need them. It is a must try if you are in Raleigh. Outstanding!

This place is an awesome treat! It was a very romantic setting with my fiancé. I enjoyed everything I ordered. It was pricey but worth every penny. The flavors in every meal made me want to order more. You need to try this place out if your ever in Raleigh.

Jo Gaojian

I had an awesome graduation dinner here! The chef is so funny and talented. We spoke over the phone so he could create a fabulous tasting menu. Every item was really unique and so good I almost cried into my food. Try the escargot, it won't disappoint. Exceptional service as well.

Michelle Miller-Higgins

We had a wonderful experience as per usual. The chef and service is amazing. Great place to celebrate.

Excellent traditional dishes, sauces. Attentive, old school style wait staffing. A welcome relief from the frenzied atmosphere of so many restaurants.

Rektatron

Amazing Authentic French Dining - The service is very accommodating and the Chef welcomes each table with nice pleasantries and a small treat. I would highly recommend this for any special occasions, or just to treat your special someone.

Jeff Johnson

Loved it. Food was great! Can't wait to go back with the wife and not a party to experience the rest of the menu. Service was good, but could have been better. Did I say food was great! Definitely going back!

Gabe Rivas

If you want French food and live in the Triangle area, this is the place to go. This is one of my two number one restaurants overall but definitely the only French food restaurant. The staff delivers 5 star service. It does help to learn a few French words and sentences as they would speak certain words in French

Hao Jiang

One of the best dining experience we ever had. Awesome atmosphere, very friendly service, tasty dishes, great selections for menu. No wonder why the review for this restaurant is so high. It proves that upscale restaurant does not mean cold face with fake smile. Definitely will go there again.

Mariana Lungu

OMG! I don't have enough stars to give to this place. Their food was great, however, their service was above & beyond!

Adam Nash

This place is straight fire! One of the best meals I've eaten.

Ryan Melton

A truly unique dining experience, easily the best cuisine I've had in my 31 years on this Earth.

Deborah Gear

Great French cuisine. Nice setting along with personalized chat with the chef who takes the time. Honestly love this restaurant
