Upon my last visit here I went for my mom's birthday and made reservations for a party of two. We were sat at a four person table. The server was very polite, but eventually since it was Sunday brunch the place started getting busy. We had already placed our order and just received our food when the manager asked us to bump down to a two person table because it was getting busy.
We give it a 3 * for atmosphere, quaint. But seating was very smug. Our waitress had no personality, which surprised us because we came before the dinner crowd. I mentioned to her it was my husband's birthday. He ordered the lobster salad special, and it was a huge disappointment. I wish I took a pic, cause the serving couldn't have been smaller! She said, "you got the last special". What? I guess it was the bottom of the barrel. I ordered Halibut on bed of chickpeas and it was good. Then we ordered dessert for hubby, still hungry, and after all, it's his birthday. Maybe they will say, "happy birthday", put on a candle, give him a bigger portion to make up for lobster plate. No. Nothing said. We got our bill, and never saw our waitress again. Bill was left with hostess at front. Sorry, maybe better next time we'll have better luck.
I mean it's good, but it's not THAT good.
Service ehh
The food here is amazing! It's a delight to eat here.
Delicious not pretentious
The seared chicken with the salad was savory goodness. The coffee & bengnets were delicious.
Wonderful food. Cozy
One of my favorite french places to go and relax with some friends. Service is outstanding, Adrian is so fun to dine with and very attentive. The manager Dom, has so much knowledge of wine and food he's just interesting to talk to. I go at least once a week.
I came here for breakfast and it was amazing! I got Duck crepe but I realized that I do not like duck. It seemed to be boiled or baked duck. The French toast was a great dish! I wish I had photos!
Great space, lovely food, amazing beignets. Love coming here! Waiter was good but disinterested.
Frisee salad always delicious! I had flounder in an incredible rich sauce. Portions are not overwhelming. Service is Attentive. Great place to eat!
A bit on the pricier side for lunch but we are rarely in Downtown Durham so we treated ourselves - plus, we were parked in the deck just across the street. Service was fantastic and friendly and our food was prepared exactly as ordered (no ham on my croque madame, no brioche bun on his medium temperature burger). We arrived well before noon and there were very few other tables seated so we had our pick of location. Sitting at the high top tables to watch the sidewalk activities was a nice option on a pretty day. The menu wasn't terribly varied but they happily accommodated my request to serve the sandwich without meat on it. Get the half order of beignets and do dessert first! Yum!
Never a bad experience here over the years. Definitely a favorite in Durham that I recommend to others. Best experience overall is brunch, which can be very busy but has always been spot on. Eggs always cooked exactly as requested, mussels and fries (moules frites) at brunch is just special, vibe is right, service on point, and coffee is good. Don't let an occasional stuffy note put you off, just smile and enjoy good food. Not inexpensive, but fair prices for quality.
The service was excellent and the food choices were varied and intriguing. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the wine list superb. I gave only 4 stars because my main entree the lamb, was Luke warm and the taste of the lentil sauce was overpowering. Also I'm uncomfortable when new customers are seated right next to me( about afoot away) after I've already been served. It feels like having an audience. That being said I would return and also recommend. Overall a really nice place for intimate gatherings.
Excellent food and knowledgeable servers. A little noisy for a French restaurant ...
First visit was a great experience! Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Food was excellent. Presentation was done really well.
Had a lovely brunch there. Bravo!
Wonderful place for a nice date/occasion... Staff is extremely knowledgeable, quick, and kind.
there were a lot of staff willing to serve. Not being waited long. Very good!
We have eaten here several times. Everything is always delicious.
The food was delicious. We had the salmon as a main course, cooked perfectly with red potatoes and string beans. The salad with apple slices and hazelnuts had an amazing olive oil dressing just coated the lettuce perfectly. Creamy butternut squash soup, a bit too large of a portion however. The only complaint was it was too noisy. We could hardly hear each other over the din..... I would definitely return.
We had a late brunch with good service and nice food.
The chef is happy to make a vegan meal! We got the 3 course meal - all vegan, all delicious! The staff were all delightful and everyone seemed genuinely excited to see the vegan creations. Top notch food.
Good food but very expensive. We'd come again, but our total was around $175 for two.
The Coq au Vin was excellent and the wine selection is also great. It was easily as good as meals I've paid twice as much for. This is perfectly executed food that can be had for under $20 a plate.
Consistently good food and prompt, friendly service
Food was very good, but service horrible. Waiter completely brain dead. And to top it off he delivers check and we find 20% has been added, because we are a party of 5. So I paid an idiot $10 to get my order wrong, my check wrong and not bring me a refill on coffee. Great meal basically ruined!
We have been here several times before. When the restaurant is completely full, it can be very noisy, because there are few soft surfaces in it. That aside, the food has always been excellent. Their beet salad with feta cheese and pistachios, would make a beat lover out of anybody. Last night, we had the prix fixe dinner. My jambon and hazelnut second course was very tasty. My leg of lamb entree and the sauce was excellent. the portions are big enough to satisfy, and small enough to finish. Weplan to return many times.
Loved the place
I would give 5 starts for the service and 1 star for the food. Everything is more all salty and over priced
This was the most delightful restaurant with amazing food and great service. Judging by the size of the crowd, it is obviously popular. We were visiting from NYC and so wished we had a Rue Cler in our neck of the woods. Fabulous!!!
This was my first time at Rue Cler and I was highly impressed. I had the fish of the day, which was halibut, and it was really good. My coworkers had the Duck Confit and the Burger and they all enjoyed their meals. I will definitely be back to try the other dishes.
Fantastic Brunch, food is fresh and well prepared and great friendly staff and atmosphere Brunch drink menu for pairing +++
I think I was in on an off night, I'll try Rue again sometime in the future to see if it was an anomaly based on the other reviews here. A few observations, it was a prime weekend night and the place was almost full. There seemed to be a shortage of qualified waitstaff (there were bussers who could refill waters and clear plates, the hostess was also setting tables and the owner - I suspect - was running food). We weren't in any rush or hurry, so the slow pace of service (taking orders, delivering plates, checking on diners, etc...) wasn't really an issue. I ordered from the prix fixe menu and started with the cucumber soup with crab, The broth was good, it had a little twang to it which I am still trying to figure out - the crab was more of a dusting than a component. The next course was the mushroom duck tart with a salad, this was the highlight of the dinner by far. The duck meat was plentiful and tender. The salad was plainly dressed, and a contrast to the tart. If I could have gotten a plate sized serving of just the tart, I would consider adding another star. My main course was the duck and unfortunately it was waaaay over cooked. I worked in kitchens for many years and know how duck must be pampered. Once it has been drained of its juices, it moves to the leathery stage pretty quick. That is what happened here. Some of the meat was so dry it had developed sharpened ends. I suspect that just as the restaurant was short staffed in the front of the house, the same was true in the kitchen. I lived in New Orleans for awhile and figured I'd have to give the beignets a shot. They came out hot and soft. The dough was a little chewy and you could tell the fryer oil was getting close to the end of its life. It didn't necessarily impart a burnt taste, but you absolutely got the charcoally after taste. The server was very nice when she had a spare moment to check on us, the owner seemed polite and the hostess smiled when we arrived. I feel bad giving them less than four stars, but I also have to be honest that this visit was less than expected.
My favorite Durham French restaurant. Try the fixed-price menu. Four courses for $49, and they are truly unique dishes
Honestly one of the best restaurants in Durham. The staff is always so kind and accommodating and the food is always so tasty. The beignets at brunch are amazing!
I took a friend for Mother's Day and we were so impressed with our dining experience. The wait staff were jovial and attentive and the food was excellent! I cannot oversell the quality of the cuisine, and at very reasonable prices. I will absolutely be going back again. Thank you for a lovely Mother's Day brunch Rue Cler.
This place is a keeper. Had a cold cucumber celery soup for the first time. I was skeptical about how it would taste but it turned out to be very appetizing, I would definitely try their soups next time. Had the fried scallops with "broccolini" and Savory crepe. The crepe was ordinary but the scallops was one of its kind. The broccolini was well cooked. I would order an entire dish with their cooked broccolini if they served one :) The waiter was very knowledgeable about how the dish was prepared and also took our dietary needs into consideration. Their creme brulee was ordinary. I had high expectations for it. I am still yet to find a place where they serve good creme brulee. On another day, I would tried their dark chocolate dessert. It sounded appetizing. Some people mentioned that their french fries are really good. However, I definitely found them better than McDonalds and Burger King. They were not greasy. I will come back again to try out some of their other entrees.
I walked in with my husband on a Tuesday evening. The place was not empty but certainly not crazy. We just wanted to see if they had bengets...we’ve only ever had them for breakfast. They are amazing! We would have had two glasses of champagne and an order of bengets. There was nobody at the hostess table, so we sat at the bar, which was empty, but there was a bartender. No greeting from the bartender. He glanced our way, but did not acknowledge us. There was another gentleman waiter who also saw us but did not acknowledge us. After about 10 minutes, we left. I’m not sure if they have bengets in the evening...maybe I will never know. I have had good experiences here in the past, but I value good service, which we did not receive. I understand that I did not have a reservation, but a simple, “hey, I’ll be with you in a moment” would have made a huge difference.
Disapointing dinner. Mediocre lamb (Blue Olive MUCH better!). Tasteless pate (Vin Rouge much better). Previously had more positive experiences with brunch & lunch here. Too many other options around at this price for dinner.
Loud -the accoustics are just terrible. I couldn't hear the person across the table from me. Hard to find parking at prime time, food was okay but nothing amazing. Service was good.
The girl at the front, very cute but oh chilling as the color of her eyes can be. What a long wait. And she was annoyed that we hovered over her station. We wouldn't much rather sit and eat than getting in the radius of this Icelandic character who is too cool to be in retail service business but not good enough to be anywhere else
Fantastic brunch and they make one hell of a Bloody Mary!
Have the prix fixe menu, only $35. Well worth it!
I missed not having bread service with the meal at lunch. And the serving size of the salmon was child size. Also too salty... sorry I can't be more positive.
Great food and ambiance. Had brunch and the amazing biegnetts and all of our meals!
Such a wonderful first time experience! We came in for brunch and it did not disappoint. Do not skip the beignets! Both of our main dishes were absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to go back for dinner.
Some of the best tasting food I have eaten in a while. Especially the savory beignets were delicious. Service was more at the level of what you might expect from a cheaper restaurant but not bad.
I had a reservation, which I had to postpone by 30 minutes. The person I talked to on the phone was friendly and courteous. At the restaurant, we had great service and really enjoyed the food. The beignets, in particular, were very tasty.
Really liked the food! First time at the Rue Cler!
Outstanding service and great food.
excellent french food and service. o recommend the steak and cauliflower gratin
The escargot were amazing! Lovely atmosphere. Everything we ordered was delicious.
Lovely French cuisine, very rich. Recommend Prix fixe, good value
Pretty awesome customer service. I was very nervous and it was my first time. I had the croquet monsieur (I think that is how you spell it). It was good I like the bread it was served on. The waiter gave me a choice of fries or salad. Hoping that wasn't extra I asked him "how much?" The waiter said "no charge." So that is what I got. My meal came to the total of $11.38. I had $20.00 which I didn't think would be enough money. Turns out I had enough money which was good. The water was no charge. All in all, I had a good experience at this restaurant for my first time.
French food dining in downtown Durham. Convenient garage parking across the street (free on weekends). Food quality was 8 / 10.
Excellent meal, great service from our waiter Josh. It was a wonderful birthday meal!
Wonderful place - the food is great, the staff is attentive and the atmosphere is lovely. We came for brunch on Saturday, and really enjoyed our time. Plus parking garage across the street is free on the weekends, so parking is a breeze.
Great lunch selection and service
Great atmosphere and always a fun place to dine. Highlights: Foie Gras was amazing and decadent...it was like eating sweet butter. The choucorte was velvety and delicious. The escargot were buttery and garlicly as they should be. The wine special was great, rich and flavorful. Downside: Coq Au Vin, highly anticipated, was served with just a drizzle of sauce. The chicken was great, but veggies were dry and overcooked, Veal chop special was served cooked at medium and was overcooked. The chop was the size of a small SUV. The service was good. Friendly staff
I've always enjoyed my meals here. Lovely atmosphere. Great Durham location- close to lots of stuff
Consistently excellent food.
Good quality food with a good variety of options. The service was good too. The salmon I had there was the best salmon dish I've ever eaten. Everything I had was great. I no longer eat meat but after seeing some of the meat dishes, I was tempted to try them. The desserts we're great as well. Based on my experience, I assume that everything on the menu is good. I recommend this place.
Solid French food, and great drink / wine selection.
Small portions and no bread and they use to much salt.
Rue Cler is great for a quick brunch. The service was amazing and the atmosphere is very welcoming. The food on the other hand is satisfactory. I LOVED the beignets, however the omelette I got was very basic and lacked flavor. I will definitely return if I am in the are.
Our salad was just OK. But then, we ordered the "crepe of the day" and were served a crepe filled with leftovers (Who puts mushy fries in a crepe?). What made our experience at this place even more lousy was our waitress who was quite rude. When we asked for advice for wine, she told us she didn't drink alcool. She could have asked a coworker, but instead decided to share her grumpy mood with all the diners. We could see that the table next to us were having a similar disappointing experience.
Tasty but really too expensive for what it is.
Great place for brunch! Very tasty beignets and crepes. Mimosa wasn't half bad, either!
Worth a try if you exhausted all eateries in downtown, but wouldn't go back. Service and wait, meh. Drinks are high. Coq au Vin was moist and tender, however, bland. l'Escalope de Saumon seemed to be fixed with a one and done all-purpose seasoning. Skipped desert.
This place bait and switched me and ruined my Valentine's Day. I was so looking forward to eating here and made the reservation more than a month ago, excited to treat my husband to a speacial dinner. I've been checking the website every couple of days. I go there today and they have loaded a prefixed menu at waaaaay more than their usual price AND made the a la carte menu unavailable. They could have posted that 2 weeks ago. I didn't budget $200 for a meal. Now I've had to cancel and there's no reservations anywhere else in the city. It's just courtesy to post that information beforehand. Inconsiderate.
Food was super expensive, yet they managed to produce four out of six courses that we couldn’t even eat because of how strong the seasoning. And when we sent it back full plate, no one even mentioned it. It’s $40 a person and not even good.
DO. NOT. GO. HERE. The most UNPROFESSIONAL experience I have ever had in an establishment let alone a restaurant. And I’m from New York so that should say a lot. After an HOUR of patiently waiting for our food, we went and asked the hostess if he knew how much longer. He proceeded to go into a fit of anger. He yelled at my father, threw his card at my cousin, and then knocked my other female cousins glass of water over. I have never been so appalled in my life. The man should be fire and the owner / manager should be embarrassed. I have never experienced such bad service and irrational unwarranted hostility from from a man and will never go back and hope you decide to patronize another restaurant with better and more respectable staff.
The brunch was ok... definitely not bad, but not one "I'd" rave about either... I'll give dinner a try before I'll mark it off my list.
Stale bread at lunch. Food good.s..l..o..w..
Great brunch! Really delicious crêpes and beignets. Good service and nice atmosphere. Nice location within walking distance to a parking garage that offers free parking on nights and weekends and other local bars and restaurants. I would recommend getting reservations as the wait time can be very long for walk-ins.
A bit underwhelming given the menu's promise of French-style cuisine. It was definitely adjusted to an American pallette and some of the things one looks for in French food were missing, like a heavy handed use of butter, and un the dish I had, lavender.
Slow service the last couple times I’ve been here for lunch. Need to hire more wait staff. Got here at 12:15. 50 minutes later and no food. Not a good choice for lunch if you have to go back to work.
Cool little French bistro great food, great service, cool vibe.
Food was divine! Service great. 5 star
Excellent french restaurant. Delicious Salmon
The food was very good and the service was friendly. The only issue I had was that the greens I was served weren't all that fresh. But I would definitely recommend.
I like taking my wife here for a pre-show date. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly. It's just a short walk to the DPAC. We have reservations this friday and I can't wait!!
One of the best French bistro's in the triangle. The food is so good with some of the best appetizers ever. Always a special or 2 as well. Desserts have to be beignets.......you will think you are in NOLA. Great downtown Durham location with parking across street in a garage. Rue Cler is one of our favorite Durham spots
Amazing food and trendy atmosphere. Perfect brunch restaurant.
Rue Cler is one of our staple Durham restaurants. The atmosphere is low key, it's never too loud, bright, or crowded. Savory and sweet beignets are the perfect bookends no matter which French staple you select.
Always stellar. Do not hesitate!
Came here for bruch on a Sunday morning. The place was busy but from what I can tell, make a reservation ahead (on Yelp) and you will be fine. We got the beignets to share and they definitely lived up to expectations. Crispy on the outside, fluffy and warm on the inside, perfect when paired with house coffee. We also tried the duck confit crepe and loved it. Duck was moist and had a nice smokey flavor to it, frites were crispy and seasoned well. Though the place is on the noisy side since sound echos around, service and food were both amazing and I will definitely return again and again!
Service was great and the dishes were excellent. The prix fixe and separate entree options gave us a lot of good choices.
Top notch brunch! Beignets in the shape of hearts, crepes that are pretty outstanding, and a nice selection of standard French fare that is just delicious. They also have pretty awesome Bloody Mary's
Service here is top notch. They take reservations which helps ensure a seat during thr busier hours. I have had many menu options and would recommend them all. High class french fare in a more relaxed atmosphere. Do not miss the the little french donuts that i cant spell!
I think this might be one of the best restaurants in the entire world. It is by far, my favorite place for a date - formal or casual. The asparagus and eggs is so good, we order it for dessert sometimes.
Warm ambiance with inviting and friendly staff. Flavorful dishes with nice wine selection by the glass.
Wonderful setting for a unique dining experience before a night on the town.
The brunch is fantastic. Lots of choices. The service is courteous and attentive.
Really terrific food and excellent service to match. Highly recommend
The service and food were the best I've had this year. You won't find a better French-style restaurant in Raleigh or Durham. *Try the savory beignets!
A little overpriced for brunch but the beignets are amazing.
Definitely one of the best places in the Triangle!
Always a place to go and have an awesome meal. Rue Cler is a Durham staple. You can find authentic food, and great ambiance here.
This is a great restaurant. I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent and the wait staff is friendly.
Front of house staff were attentive, friendly, efficient and professional. They'd get five stars if this review we're about them. My gravlax crepe left a lot to be desired. The peppers that made up the bulk of the filing were tasty. The gravlax, however, was nearly non-existent. It was basically one appetizer's worth of meat in a medium burrito sized crepe. When I have to hunt to find the ingredient that gives the dish its name, I have to wonder if I'm being short changed.
food was very good... was a little sticker shocked on wine prices but quality was excellent... so there is that. staff was very helpful and friendly
The food was not impressive, but we enjoyed the experience.
This place is amazing and reminded me of my trips to France. The food is wonderful and service is great.
I'm not in the business of giving one-star reviews, even if the restaurant deserves it. I ordered an appetizer and two beers upon sitting down. It took about 20 minutes for our server to inform me that they had run out of the beer I ordered (which was still on the menu), and then my lamb sausage/frites appetizer did not come out for a full hour and a half. My wife received all THREE courses of her meal before I received the appetizer. If I had no moral compass, I would have left the restaurant without paying, but unfortunately for the waitress, my dissatisfaction was represented by a lackluster tip. Poor service, awful acoustics and noise-level in the restaurant, and I can't help but feel like I could have grilled a sausage and made fries myself in half the time and at a fraction of the cost. Disappointing - should have read the reviews before I came. Here's where I will stop whining and just say I won't be returning again.
Went there just for the beignet, and I wasn't disappointed. Will definitely be visiting again.
Food is good. Crepe and onion soup are a little bit too salty. French toast and beignets are amazing. Amount is quite small, so quite pricy if you wanna get really full.
The veal was DELICIOUS!!
We have had good meals and not so great meals. The most recent trip was in the later category. The restaurant was packed and seemed short staffed on servers, so there was a long wait in between courses. I had a patè for my first course, it unfortunately had spots that had turned bluish green, I cut those off and left them to the side as it had already taken 45 minutes and I didn't want to add more to the wait staff's plate. We all had specials they were promoting, the main protein was prepared well, however the accompanying sides fought the flavors on each dish (we all tried each others). It had been a 2 hour meal by this time, so we skipped desert and went for ice cream. I believe this was merely an off night for them and will try to convince my spouse to give it another go.
Went for brunch. The food was great! I had the farmers plate which includes, eggs, sausage, fruit and potatoes. No issues with service, everyone was nice and friendly.
Good place for french food. Filled me up in no time. Fast and courteous service. The place has a cool atmosphere. Makes me feel like I am back in Tucson.
Great brunch/lunch menu for Sunday. Food prepared well and homemade. Cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Great atmosphere.
I have been to Rue Cler twice, and both dinners have been delightful. The service is courteous and attentive. The preparation of the food is thoughtful and well balanced. This restaurant is becoming a go-to for special occasions.
Always fabulous!
The service was excellent and the French toast was delicious!
Absolutely fantastic French cuisine
This place is amazing. The food was DELICIOUS. My boyfriend and I were extremely happy. We sat by the window and the sun hit our faces the entire time... recommend installing blinds.
Great onion soup
Lovely food. Great location in downtown. Steak frites and beignets always good.
Still one of my favorite Durham restaurants. Duck confit crepe at brunch, amazing cocktails, perfectly poached eggs, the savory dinner and sweet brunch/dinner/dessert beignets (!!!!!). Almost always top notch service (9 times out of 10). I have a soy allergyand can almost always eat literally everything here, they use local and high quality ingredients to make almost everything they serve in house. Last time I asked they were serving Love bakery bread, so that's perfect too!
Excellent food, drink, and atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
Nice prix fixe menu. Excellent wine selection. Very accommodating staff.
Fabulous dining experience! The beignets were awesome.
Brunch: Salmon was absolutely amazing. I recommend it to everyone. The steak unfortunately wasn't cooked very well however our server took it off without us even asking. If I could give more than 5 stars for service I would.
Incredible food, delightful service
The food and service were great.
Good brunch offering and delicious beignets
Better beignets than New Orleans! Reservation recommended.
We went for the first time to celebrate a birthday. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
Great place for brunch!
I've been here for brunch a few times now and every time the food has been great. The Croque Madame is my favorite menu item here, but be careful, because it's a lot of food! The atmosphere inside Rue Cler is really cool and the wait staff are on top of things.
I really like this place. I have been recently for both a Friday dinner and a Saturday breakfast. Both were very pleasant dining experiences.
Staff was great! The breakfast was huge and amazing. The prices are reasonable. Definitely go! You won't regret is.
Loved the food here! Every dish was a masterpiece. I wish there’re were a lot more restaurants like this one!
We must have caught it on an off night since the overall rating is good. Had reservations Saturday night @ 7. Wanted to sit by the window, and the host (manager?) was rude, very flippant about it, saying "help yourself" with a waving hand gesture. Our server was just uninspired; fairly knowledgeable, but 3 to 4 word answers to our questions.Meanwhile we could hear the bartender going into much more detail with his customers. I immediately wished we had sat at the bar. All of this would have been ok if the food had been amazing (was expensive), bit it wasn't. The only course I liked was my entree which was 4 bites.
Delicious food. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Will definitely eat there again.
I visited this place on Wednesday, January 31,2018. I absolutely enjoyed it! The servers were polite and very helpful. The food was delicious and came promptly. The restaurant was clean and eloquent. I look forward to trying more items on the menu. If you’re looking for a great place to go on a date, or out with a friend, that you’ve never tried before, Rue Cler is definitely a great option! Delicious French Cuisine!
Their ability to cater to a large crowd was surprisingly wonderful. Sometimes when you have a big party, especially in a lovely local joint, things get inefficient and crowded. The wait staff at Rue Cler defied the stereotype, and it was a wonderful brunch with excellent food.
Great service. Delicious food.
The beignets are to die for!
Best bernaise in the country
Rue Cler was a bit of a disappointment. Usually so yummy, I felt that they relied too much on butter to add flavors. Maybe it was just an off night.
Excellent place and service. They will sit you in even a minute before closing. You can do latest appointment 15 min before closing. Great service!!
Amazing brunch, great cocktailios, fresh oj, best french onion soup of your life...and beignets!!
I wished we lived closer. I've been wanting to visit for a while. We really enjoyed this meal.
Extremely busy local brunch place! It was not particularly relaxing for me due to the noise, crowded feel, lack of value for the money and slow service. The slightly harassed servers were doing their best, but I would not go back on at Sunday brunch time because the value (quantity for cost of the food) was disappointing as well. I feel like I was tricked into "ordering up" when I selected the made to order omelet and the waiter suggested I might like the quiche instead. I thought he suggested that as a straight across substitution and because they were too busy to make a lot of omelets. I decided to go for it thinking that it might help me get served more quickly, given the stress they seemed to be under. The goat cheese and mushroom quiche was good, but the slice was small, and I certainly had less food than a 3 egg filled omelet. I left hungry for more but couldn't wait to get out of the madhouse, and yup, it cost $2 more! (No, there were no black truffles in it.) It's clearly a popular spot with the young local bloody mary crowd, but if you are over 50, you might try it on much less busy time!
