Amazing food and nice staff, they take the time to get to know you. We have become regulars because of the wonderful treatment they have given us and the delicious food they cook. Their spicy seasoning mix is amazing just be careful with the spicy level you choose. The chicken corn soup for two feeds the soul(and if you ask nicely you can get a container of their spicy seasoning, added to the soup is just otherworldly good)

Let us establish this: I am a man of science and reason. I have never reviewed a restaurant until now. Tonight, I ate a kebab for dinner. It was not on the menu. It was a board special. And that kebab was too beautiful to have been of this world. It came out sizzling, like at a Chili's but holy. The food is always flavorful here but this is next level. The waitstaff was great, and it was like going to a friend's house if your friend hired a friendly waitstaff like good friends do. I know now that I must live a good life so that I can go to heaven someday and see that kebab again.

Outstanding!! Great flavors, and super fresh. Pork with black bean sauce was perfect, and on par with San Francisco restaurants (where I grew up). Palak Paneer was savory and creamy, and absolutely delicious. Fried rice with Chinese sausage? Yes, please! Even the chai was authentic. We highly recommend. So glad this place is in our neighborhood!

Fills you up, flavor profile is just ok. Not the best food, not the worst food. The "puris" are clearly just tortillas warmed on a frying pan but they charge 1.50 a piece for them. I don't ever crave this place, but if i want something benign to eat I'd go there.

The owner/chef is so genuine and pleasant to be around. On several occasions he's made my to-go order with only a few minutes before closing and without a bunch of fuss. Highly recommend the Indian dishes - my personal favorite! Quite delicious!

Good food, but a couple bad service/attention to detail problems...my daughter is a (strict) vegetarian, so ordered the spinach and mango salad and vegetable pot stickers. We ordered our food to go, and when we got home realized there was no dressing for the salad. This was disappointing, but the bad problem was that one of the six pot stickers in the container was PORK - not vegetable. This was a very unpleasant surprise to her.

just delicious i eat here for lunch very often. The food is always great and the owner is very accommodating if there is a problem. i will continue to get my lunch here as often as i can. if you order something spicy you can specify your own level of spicy which is nice. thank you guys for all your hardwork!

Service is ok but slow and a bit overwhelmed with only 3 tables of customers. The prices are fair but the food quality is questionable. We ordered two appetizers and two main courses. One of the appetizers had a hard piece of plastic, which the wait staff promptly apologized for. One of our main courses was not really edible, as it just tasted off, so we ended up leaving most of it unfinished while the other dish was just average. Upon asking for the check the wait staff said that the chef was offering us a single dessert as compensation for the plastic. Neither of us, were able to eat dessert for dietary reasons so we gratefully declined. We then received the check with no additional mention of any kind of further compensation for the plastic in the appetizer. We were a bit disappointed with the lack of any attempt to make good on the plastic and will not be coming back. We understand mistakes happen and can forgive those things that sometimes do occur, but we do expect reasonable customer service and some minor attempt at honest care for those impacted by mistakes that the business is responsible for. This is our 2nd time here avoid this place.

The service here was mediocre at best. I ordered the sesame chicken and the chicken was cold and dry. My fried rice was almost burnt. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Had high hopes but was disappointed. The steamed pork dumplings were cold and had a prefab taste. The hot and sour soup was neither but very greasy and the garlic Nan bordered on stale.

Take out was still very good when I got home. I had Tikka Masala and it was better than average. I got the spiciness at a 7 of 10 and it still wasn't that bad, and I'm not a person that handles spicy food well. I would recommend eating here if you are in the mood for Indian.

Has gone down hill, a bummer as it used to be good. Last 3 orders have been quite poor, especially the beef. The owner would not return phone calls and was rude. I was told it is no longer "policy" to make good on food mistakes with orders. What on earth!? (My new policy is to take business elsewhere).

Very flexible, warm, and welcoming. Come in to see their cute son, stay for the delicious food. Also, they are willing to make everything vegetarian or vegan. Just ask. Aesthetics are nice, especially the jazzy music. Nice hidden jem.

First visit was positive overall. Food was good, cooked perfect. We had options to choose how spicy we wanted our food. Samosas were great. Would like to see more dessert options. Restaurant lost one star b/c we felt some of the prices were a bit high and we noticed silverware was dropped on the floor, then put back on the table for someone to use. We told management who told the waiter to be more careful but they did not remove the contaminated silverware. ??? Staff needs to review sanitation policy.

Owner gave me sweet (Gulab Jamun) as I didn't take rice. 2 server girls were not attentive as I had to wait for owner to come out and to offer me seat while server girl was busy in her phone (or may be my color). But hey this Indian Chinese restaurant.

This was my second trip in about two weeks, and I'm still happy and have Rasa high up on our lunch rotation for work. Today I got the chicken curry white white rice, with a spice level of 7 out of 10. I got the post-nasal drip I was seeking, and once again left the restaurant happy. Great service today, and everything we had was great. Definitely recommended! I have yet to try any Chinese cuisine from Rasa, that will be the next trip.

Easily one of the worst meals I've had in a long, long time. My chicken had a strange texture (as in old) and was breaded with a bizarre, gooey coating. It was concealed in a mound of gelatinous sauce. My companion's saag consisted of a pool of watery spinach and paneer-hued smears floating on an oily surface. Even the rice was a fail; dried out, cold and bland. Our server didn't bother to ask why we didn't eat our entrees. He already knew the answer. The cheesy decor, giant TV and elevator music should have been enough to keep us away, but we came hungry and hopeful. We won't make that mistake again.

The portions were generous and well priced and the atmosphere relaxing. What made our visit all the more special was Rasa's wonderful staff. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and courteous and put us at ease from the moment we stepped into the establishment. Special thanks to Aman for taking such good care of us! Great choices and lovely , kind service! We met the chef/owner when it was near end of the day as he came walking by from direction of the kitchen, smiling and casually noticed I had a question. He did, then I asked if he was chef- obviously he was! So proud and also very humble , nicest guy he knows his menu - also said he would cook whatever we dreamed up basically. I love medium hot but u decide, we end up sharing appetizers, and meals - love it for take-out, too.

I had a great first time experience here at Rasa, special thanks to the sweet boy with a shy smile: Aman! We dined here last weekend on a busy Friday night and he was on top of it. Perhaps the best server I’ve seen in Chapel Hill/ Carrboro/ Durham/ Raleigh. Never felt rushed and the dishes recommend were fabulous! Will be returning to visit Aman and to treat my family to soul soothing food! :)

We placed a phone order but realized we called the wrong place and immediately called them back to cancel the order. The manager(Richard) repeatedly called us back, and was rude, hateful, threatening, aggressive, and used profane language simply because we decided to cancel the order that was mistakenly placed. He threatened that we better not call and place an order here. We tried to rectify the situation by apologizing, but the manager got uglier by the second. We will never visit or order from this terrible and unprofessional place again. If I could give them 0 stars, that’s what I would give. Unfortunately, this is the lowest I can score them. HORRIBLE!!!!!

We go to Rasa everytime we're in the area. The food is great, and it's perfect for our family with Chinese, Thai, and Indian options. The staff is very friendly and it feels like family. I usually eat vegan and they offer excellent options. Others in our family love their well made meat dishes. Vegetables are cooked el dante in most cases so things aren't overcooked. Can't wait to go again actually! :)

Worst Indian food I have had. For the appetizer, we got a kathi chicken roll and veg spring rolls. Extremely bland and tiny portions. The entree, Chicken tikka masala was watery and lacked any flavor. No idea how this place is still open.

First time there Food was fantastic service was great. One complaint they need a better take-home containers for leftovers my broth ended up all over my back seat no broth anymore. I had the most heavenly tasting Curry broth. they were able to make it not spicy at all which I was shocked her husband was able to make it with no spice am on the end of zero and they made it happen they say they offer 0 to 10 in spikes. I have a mango something dessert it was very chalky .Met the owner she was absolutely delightful and sweet I loved her she understood the way I like my food I would definitely go back again. I just have to bring my own container for take home

The owner is an amazing chef that truly understands and appreciate the complexity of south Indian and south east Asian cuisine and spices. This is truly a fusion restaurant and not fusion wantabee. His Curry goat and fried rice are the best I have had in this area barnone. I would have given it 5stars but the only thing lacking is the dining ambiance that truly represents the fusion theme.

We go here regularly because it is in our neighborhood, and while I love Indian food my husband prefers Chinese. He likes that they will substitute tofu as the protein in any dish, however that is not noted on the menu. I like the fish/shrimp dishes, my favorite is the Shrimp Malabari which has many spices in a tomato coconut sauce over rice. Spice level 7 is perfect! The owners and staff are attentive and helpful.

My son and I both had Aloo Tikki Chole for an appetizer and Chicken Vindaloo at a level 3 on the heat scale for the main course. I think the 3 is just right. This is the best Indian food we have had in years! Our server was great and attentive to our needs. When my son casually mentioned he wished he'd ordered a 4, our server was willing to take it back and spice it up...we declined. The prices are fair and the serving sizes are very good. I will be going back.

Ate here for the first time tonight. Tasty! One tip, you are able to choose the level of spiciness of your food from 1 to 10, which a cool feature. I said '7 to 8', not knowing what to expect. Well, that was pretty spicy, but certainly nothing crazy. If you are a person who likes your food very spicy, don't be afraid to say 9 or 10.

This place is awesome! The entire staff was friendly, the restaurant was so clean, and the food was delicious! Our waitresses, Beth, was so helpful and friendly, I thought I'd try a new food and they ask you for the hot level 1-10 and chose 4. Beth that's pretty hot so asked her recommendation and she suggested to start with 2 and they'd make it hotter if it wasn't hot enough. I was glad she suggested it, 2 was perfect maybe a 3 but I'd have to work up to 4. Kudos!

Jan 28, 2017. My wife and I have eaten here numerous times and thoroughly enjoyed it. NEVER AGAIN! It appears like it may be under new management. The staff was all new, at least we had never seen any of them before, and the food was simply terrible. Very sad because previously this was one of our go-to restaurants. It was never what one would call gourmet -- but certainly very good. Now, I wouldn't go there if it was free. Avoid unless you want mediocre and tasteless food.
