Best chicken in the world no joke it's so juicy. Every time I go (and it's not often because it's two hours away ) I get like 60 pieces of just chicken for the family because its all you'll want it eat breakfast, lunch and dinner (and snack) .Its definitely worth the trip.

Very disappointed that they completely changed their menu! Got the empanada and it tasted like tuna inside.. and the grilled chicken tasted very plain. The yuca was overcooked and hard... don’t taste any Latin flavor.

Now THAT's a crispy chicken sandwich! I stopped by here a couple weeks ago. I was looking for something different than what you get at most chain fast-food places. Decided to give this a try. Their crispy chicken sandwich was actually crispy!!! The mango soda I got was delicious and the house sauce was tasty to. Can't wait to be back in the area to have their food again!

I've had both the grilled and the fried chicken. Both are delicious. I slightly prefer the grilled but got the fried tonight due to a 20 minute wait for grilled. The time before, I got grilled right away so I guess I caught them after a rush. I had the side of plantains both time. So yummy!

Delicious food and decent prices. We ordered takeout, but we will definitely dine-in in the future. I love how they serve family style meals. We went on a very busy Sunday afternoon, but they were well staffed and had everything down to a science. Food was fresh and yummy without an extremely long wait. Good portions. Everyone was friendly and kind. One of the girls that works there even gave my toddler something to drink while we were waiting as he was getting ancy.

The food was really good overall. The service was great, the only thing in my opinion that would be better would actually be the horchata drink they have there. The horchata drink should have a rice flavor but this one was more of a peanut butter taste, I think they put too much cinnamon which if I would have paid attn to thr container it actually looks brown instead of white which is the color of horchata

A hidden gem. I first learned about this place a couple of months ago. I would see it every time I drove down south Blvd and one day I decided to give it a try. The fried chicken is excellent and the prices are unbelievably cheap. You get your money's worth here. Will definitely be back.

Food is good, but prices seem to keep going up. Easy to spend close to $40 bucks or more if feeding a family of for. To me that's a lot for a place with a drive thru. As many chickens as they breed, youd think they were going extinct! Still on a good pay day and no other options, I would go again.

Very nice chicken and a lot of options for sides. I had the rice and beans and were very good. The prices are good, and the service is very fast, nice and friendly. They speak English and Spanish. Everything looked very clean and organized. I enjoyed the food here, and it is very probably that I will return soon.

The food is very good. I had a coupon for BOGO personal meal and the manager tried to cheat me out of it claiming that I couldn't use it on a four piece meal, even though that is what is pictured on the coupon. He claimed it said "picture for illustration only", but I pointed out that the coupon mentioned no such thing in the fine print. He finally conceded, but he should be more aware of his promotions and coupons before arguing with customers. Also, both him and the cashier spoke great English, but when they talked amongst themselves about my coupon, they used Spanish because they thought I couldn't understand what they were saying...Not a very welcoming environment.

Chicken is always fresh and hot. Street corn salad is tasty. The EMPANADAS are crunchy and crisp on the outside yet creamy on the inside. Ms Itzel greeted me with a smile, helped with selection and explained items contents in case of food allergies. Very good service. Totally awesome experience.

Where to begin, the customer service was terrible, we asked the cashier a simple question to verify we were getting the right item and he replied back with sarcasm and attitude. The food, which we ordered empanadas, came out completely wrong, only one was made with actual chicken and the rest were filled with some sort of sweet paste that was atrocious. Will never go back and will recommend that others stay way.

The wait was long and I went through drive thru,my yucca fries were cold,so Why was the wait so long when I was the only one,had to go to window, communication wasn't good, No one act like they spoke English, I would not recommend this place as a go to get a quick bite or just to eat,my drumsticks had feathers on it, so that means they didn't clean the chicken before cooking it,health inspector need to do a check of this place.

What really stands out about this location is Julio Gomez. His customer service skills are outstanding. He welcomes each customer with a smile. After a previous experience @ Pollo Campero Sharon Amity refusing my coupon. The opposite was the case @ Pollo Campero South Blvd.Not only was the coupon accepted with no issue, the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious! I’m complete annoyed by this place everytime I come here my order is either made poorly or incorrect. I don’t understand how they receive a 4.5 overall star. This place is a money hungry establishment. They give out small portions for extremely high prices. The food is good but the service sucks. I purchased a groupon voucher and since they couldn’t find the barcode they refused to give me my purchase. I’m just annoyed with this place NEVER AGAIN‼️‼️‼️

Hit or miss. Today was Definitely a miss unfortunately. I WAS IGNORED AND LEFT HUNGRY WITHOUT ORDERING. I walked in and discovered that I was the only customer, with the exception of employees that were seemed busy behind the counter. I stood at the counter and was not acknowledged and made eye contact with about six different workers including a young lady who looked like she was taking an order over the phone. I waited there for about five or six minutes and then left frustrated. I come here often and have sent some friends there too because the food is SO GOOD. Hope this is the first and last time I’m ignored and left without being serviced:(

I am down-grading my previous review. Prices have gone up and quality down from last year. Fried chicken is still good but sides not too appetizing. Corn salad used to be fresh and very tasty. Now has mostly canned corn and the rest is mush—hardly any greens, the few bits visible were wilted like creamed spinach. The dish no longer has fresh cherry tomatoes nor the pumpkin seed kernels. The sautéed plaintains had a lot of oil at the bottom of container and the fiesta rice was dry, gray, more canned corn and no flavor. About a month ago, our order of 3 empanadas, which was one of our favorites, was all under-cooked with raw pastry dough in the middle. They no longer make bowls or the green sauce, both were really good. 80 cents was added to my family meal—not sure why. The highlight was the counter staff, very friendly ladies today.

I was a loyal customer until this happened...Apparently Pollo Campero is NOT consistent with their service and the employees are getting lazy!!!!!!!!!! I am currently w/o a car due to a recent wreck so I placed an order via grubhub right before Pollo Campero closed for the night. After spending $27.00 ....Not only was entire order wrong and missing a side, the plantain were undercooked almost raw, they sent old food cole slaw tasted sour...chicken was hard and old tasting AND I found something attached to the chicken that looks like something stringy fell in the grease and fried to a crisp...because of this my kids did not have dinner !!!! Completely unacceptable Pollo Campero...

PLEASE BRING BACK THE GREEN SAUCE!!!! OMG I am devastated! You guys used to deliver to The Boy Scouts of America thru postmates delivery service and suddenly stopped. However we drove over today and were told the green sauce is no longer available. WHY?? this compliments Peruvian chicken so well!!! Please bring it back! Also would like to give a big thank you to Miguel in the drive thru on 6.27.19 at approximately 1:00-1:30. He was amazing with his knowledge of additional choices (which I must say is insane that you sell ranch that isn't homemade in place of the green sauce) however he was super nice with a great personality! Keep smiling Miguel!

If I was judging just off of the food I would give them 4 stars, but because every time I go they are rude to me no one is ever in a rush to take my order. If I spoke Spanish I'm sure they would be much nicer. No matter how good the food is I'm never going back. They need to hire someone who is truly bilingual. Pollo Campero has quickly become one of my top favorite chicken restaurants! The flavor of the chicken and sides has always been very excellent. The staff has always been courteous and friendly. I really felt some type of way when your location advertises a 16 piece special but when you pull into drive thru and you're told to pay full price because we're not offering the special right now. When asked why the response was we're closing in 2 hours. I asked again why we couldn't get the advertised price and again no real answer. I loved this restaurant since my days of living in Northern Virginia but today you lost loyal customers from what seems to be a lazy or scheming cashier. Also sent an email as requested and no reply. Waste of time.

I am giving 5 stars for the “Customer Service”. They went out of the way to adjust my order. That meant a lot! The grilled chicken had an amazing flavor and juicy. The rice was amazing too. My rating on availability might be different because I drove a long way and got there by 2PM (lunch hour) super busy! Good for them, but by 2PM they were completely out of all flavors of empanadas except chipotle chicken (not the flavor I wanted but great flavor). (Oh by the way this is the second time this happens, by the time I get there they are out of the “green” empanadas.) One day I will get to try them again.

Don't expect flash fast food like you get from Bojangles or KFC.. Just don't be in a time crunch and show up rushing the staff cause your order is taking to long and you need to get to your kid's play. Don't say I didn't warn you. It's definitely worth the wait. Don't say I didn't tell you that part either. The chicken is consistent. Plus its so moist and flavorful! It's delicious. They have two types of chicken. Fried and marinated. I did my homework on their website and found out that this chain orginated out of Guatemala. These Guatemalan's chicken game is strong! If you are in Charlotte or the surrounding areas AND you love bird, this place should be a priority. Bucket listed? For sure!!

First time trying this restaurant. I expected it to be like a fast food fried chicken joint and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was not. They had both fried chicken and citrus grilled chicken meals. I ordered the 1/2 grilled chicken with 2 sides. Chicken was very moist and flavorful. The black beans and yucca fries were a great alternative to fries. I did not try the fried chicken, but I had order envy when I saw it. I could see them prepping the chicken in the kitchen so it's nice to know it's not just out of a box. Everyone was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. I got my food to go and did not get to experience the wait staff, but I will definitely be back to eat in and try the fried chicken.

Friendly people, decent food. Guy at the register taking orders, barley spoke English. It took awhile to place the correct order. Food rating was lower than I would've liked (95). I'm not sure I would go back, but if someone else wanted to go, I would probably not try to change their mind.

I visited for the first time today for lunch. I had 2 piece grilled wing and breast w Camparo beans and corn tortillas. Chicken was juicy, almost fall the bone tender, with a just right lime flavored spice. Beans and tortillas were really good too. Service was great. Not sure how I hadn't heard of Pollo Campero before but I'll be back.

I was a huge fan of Pollo Campero and raved about the food to friends. I will not be returning to the restaurant after a recent experience. I watched an employee rake his hands through his hair, holding his hat up, with gloves on in the kitchen for about a minute. It was the most unappetizing action I have witnessed at a restaurant. I waited to see if the other employees would say something to him. None did. I explained the situation and demanded a refund. If employees do this kind of thing in front of patrons, I can only imagine what goes on when we are not around. I will not be returning and have spread the word about the conditions of cleanliness.
