They charge for every little thing. My husband took a few bites off of my salad plate and dessert plate and was charged for sharing plates. I won't be back there !! Do they have food detectives placed around this restaurant ?? A few bites, really ??

Absolutely love it. I don't like buffet but Pioneer is always fresh & clean. They keep a great stock of food on the bar. Meat is grade A choice, which they pride themselves in. I've been coming here before the age of 5 & 30 years later its still great. Staff is kind and just can't beat the customer service. Thanks for all their years of service to the community.

The food here was excellent, with a lot of choices. It's not as commercialized as a place like Golden Corral, so if you're a fan of a more local feeling, this is a great place. It reminded me of a local cafe with a large reputable buffet. The waitresses were polite and helpful.

Our first time eating here and we plan on going back. Friendly atmosphere, excellent service and everything we ate from the buffet was delicious. If you're drinking sweet tea, they give you a pitcher full on the table and bring you a fresh glass of ice when you need it. The price for the buffet is better than the chain restaurants too.

Great family oriented place in the community. The decor is kinda dated but the food quality and attendance does not suffer for it. They have lots of southern comfort food items for breakfast or dinner. In my opinion I prefer Pioneer over the big chain buffet in Greensboro.

One of our family's favorite restaurant's. Family of four Buffet was $35.00. The rost beef was delicious as always with the arzu sauce and gravy are great on it along with real mashed potatoes cabbage are my personal favorites. The food is great if they could improve at all I would say new mac and cheese recipe. The staff are great always a pleasure eating there.

We have gone to this place for almost 5yrs. I love their food. We always go for breakfast. The only thing that needs to change is the waitresses standing up front in a huddle and a crowd talking their personal business. And some me of the host and their uniforms. We went last week as well and it was two young ladies in workout stretch pants hanging out up at the front, and talking loud. So in attractive and so unprofessional. But overall I love the food here.

Pioneer has some of the most delicious and tender steaks that you will ever eat. I suggest the ribeye but they have other steak options as well. Their salad bar is huge and has a nice variety of toppings and sides including chicken salad, pimento cheese, potato salad, macaroni salad, and pasta salad. If you want some variety with food they also have a very nice buffet that changes up often with prime steak, chicken, ham, and all the southern sides that you can fit on your plate. Their dessert selection is pretty good too, you need to try the walnuts that are soaked in a sweet sauce as a topping for your ice cream, it is amazing. You won't be disappointed.

Overpriced, overrated and food quality is average, nothing spectacular about this place. Go a few blocks down the road for a much better priced buffet and wonderful food. More variety too! 1 plus, they did get us (a party of 7) seated right away, no waiting. That was the biggest reason we decided to give them a try. Too long of a wait for the other place and most of our party were already too hangry to wait any longer.

The breakfast bar was okay. There were no pancakes, waffles or muffins on the bar. Meat and gravy eaters were well served. This was our first visit and my husband would go back but since I only eat poultry and fish, I won't return. The price of $8.00 for the breakfast bar is very reasonable.

This Restaurant has the best steaks I have ever tasted! They also have a HUGE buffet. The buffet has just about everything you can imagine on it. And, if you get there before 4:00 pm you get a discount on your food. They actually have a post in the restaurant where Richard Petty signs it every time he eats there. It's that good!

Can be rather pricey but buffet has good, solid comfort foods, occasional seafood, salads and desserts. Friday's feature lots of hearty proteins at lunch and dinner. I usually leave here too full to fit in my car! One caution though be careful during flu season as dining areas are open plan (no dividers, corralls) so coughs can spread freely!!

This used to be one of our favorite places to eat for 20+ years while Mike owned it because of the quality/taste of the meats and buffet bar and prices. Some of the best steaks I have ever eaten, but WE WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN!!! two of us got so sick after eating there last Saturday. I barely made it back to hotel in Charlotte and had to cancel my event/plans for the evening, which resulted in wasting money for a hotel that night also. It’s obvious that the new owner that took over a couple years ago isn’t buying good quality food from the taste of the steaks, looking at the Prime Rib on the buffet bar, and lack of freshness on the Salad Bar!!

We love going to this restaurant. Sure, it's a little pricier, but you want for nothing. You get plenty of food, and it's not just plentiful, but delicious. I wish they'd let you go to the salad bar more than once with certain meals, but honestly, you never leave hungry. The staff is courteous and it's a warm atmosphere for such a wide, open space. I love it and we'll go again and again.

Friendly service. We went with a large group when attending a conference. Despite it being very busy the staff was curteous and tended well to our needs. We had the buffet but you can also order off the menu. I would describe the food as Southern comfort food. The buffet has a variety of items including delicious fried chicken, mashed potatoes, collards, carved meats (roast beef, turkey, etc.), a nice salad bar, and breads. Pricing was reasonable. I would definitely recommend it.

I had not been to this restaurant in my hometown in over a decade. And to be honest it was underwhelming. The service was great, Sonya was our waitress, the restaurant had a busy service and she always had a smile on her face. But the food just wasn't what I remembered. None of the food was seasoned, the meat at the buffet is either fried chicken or a selection of hand carved meats ( Ham, Turkey or Prime Rib) I will say the meats are excellent, but the vegetables need attention. The seafood selection wasn't good either. The Shrimp was chewy and so were the crab cakes, I feel like they were left under the heat lamps to long. The buffet was a little pricey for the selection. But it's a busy place for the locals so I understand.

I am posting this rating not only for the food, which is appealing indeed, but for the level of customer service here at Pioneer. I was going to meet someone here but had a sudden issue with my car and was unable to reach the other party on their phone to say I couldn't make it. I called the Pioneer and the staff was kind enough to go out to the parking lot and tell the person I was having an issue but was was okay so they wouldn't get needlessly worried. The staff not only were attentive to me with this issue, but the other person was very pleased with how they came to let them know in such a polite and concerned manner. This is definitely a level of customer services that goes above and beyond the call of duty that you wouldn't get just anywhere. The food here is tasty home cooking and superior to the quality that you would get from competing buffets, though you can order off the menu,. I especially like the extensive salad bar. I gave only one example but the service is consistently helpful and cheerful.

I stopped in to try this restaurant. I wanted the buffet but it was $13.50 per person and that doesn't include the drink. So I didn't get the buffet. Their specials are reasonably priced but everything else seemed expensive. I ordered the petite sirloin steak special. The steak was good but my potato had slivers of metal in it because they cut through the tin foil. I showed the waitress the metal in my food and she grabbed the potato and walked off while I was trying to talk to her. I told her to tell them in the kitchen not to cut through the potato. However, unbelievably, she brought me another potato where they had cut through the metal. When I pointed it out to her a second time, she got mad and quickly grabbed up the potato again and walked off again while I was talking to her. This time she was talking over me saying "yeah yeah yeah." I can't believe that they would continue to cut through tin foil and leave slivers of metal in people's food after I just pointed out to them that it leaves slivers of metal in the food. They have no real butter. They have no Wi-Fi.

Pioneer has a great selection and plenty of seating. We typically go in the evenings and get the $8 veggie/salad bar with a drink and desert. It is an awesome deal! The staff is very friendly and Miss Nancy is our most favorite. All the locals already support Pioneer as it has been a staple in the community but highly recommended to new or visiting customers.

The restaurant offers affordable pricing for all you can eat buffet. Aduktfor the dinner meal was 13.50 plus taxes and tip. They offer the typical buffet choices that include salad bar, multiple vegie choice's, spaghetti & meat sauce, mashed, Mac and cheese, fried chicken, fish, pork, turkey, and beef carving station along with a desert bar. If you don't want the buffet you can order from a regular menu that offers steak another choices. Quality was fair and I'll be back in the future. I rate it just above average and about the same as a big chain type Buffet restaurant.

This place is just ok. It has a buffet but not a lot of taste to anything. We stopped here cause I was starving and didn't want to keep waiting to eat. The vegetables have no seasoning what so ever. The meats are dark meat fried chicken, ham or prime rib meat cut there in front of you. The desert was good, cherry cobbler with vanilla yogurt on top. They also had apple cobbler and cookies. This place is made for seniors citizens I believe.
