So first thing I see when I walk in is a freaking salsa bar so I’m thinking how could I not give this place a five star. Then the wait staff walked up to the table....friendliest staff ever....and with a huge bowl of chips and not that garbage salsa but rather a bowl of refried beans. In the last month I have ordered many things off their menu with the attempt to give less than a 5 star. This place is good, the end....period. Now shut up and take your significant other to eat some enchiladas

Fantastic food, and the best carnitas I've had. This place has a salsa bar with several choices, great beer specials and outdoor seating. The chips and bean dip here are great also.the other locations they have have a different menu and aren't as good as this one.

Pretty Great. The Server was pleasant. Not Wonderful, but to be fair I was in a foul mood myself so she probably felt as though I wasn't the personable type. I've been to 2 different locations and the Quality of Food and the Prices are consistently amazing. They are almost always busy but you can see every single person in that restaurant busting butt to provide customer service. With service like this, these guys will be around for quite some time!! THanks!!

It's a hole in the wall since the restaurant is located inside of a hotel but don't let that fool you, locals love it because of the food and the service is great. Everyone is always super friendly and the service has always been quick. I've never had a plate I didn't like every time I've been. Pretty low prices and great food means you should at least give it a shot if you're in the area.

I’ve never had a burrito that had zucchini in it nor have I ever seen orange enchilada sauce.. and to the waitress, when you come back to the table and see that WE did not enjoy our food don’t ask if we want you to bring back our change. Very unprofessional and the food was definitely the most mediocre Mexican food we’ve ever had. Will not return.

I ordered "Baja fish tacos" which were advertised as containing "sauteed shrimp" and other things inconsistent with "Baja fish tacos." My husband and I wondered about this and it turned out that the description was a repetition of another item on the menu, "Holiday shrimp tacos"?? something like that. I was half-way through them before I realized I didn't get what I ordered and complained there was no shrimp. The waiter argued with me that it said, "Baja fish tacos." I asked him to bring me a menu. I showed him "shrimp." It went on and on and they kept wanting me to pay for the order or pay half. Finally three employees tried to get me to pay. I refused. It was very uncomfortable but I refused to pay. It ruined our meal because they kept trying to say it was my fault. Never again. They need to reprint their menu. Finally they took the entree off of my bill. Never again!

First off, this is coming from a long time patron of Papa’s that has finally given them their very last chance. A heads up to those that want quality Mexican food at a decent price, this is not the restaurant for you. Let me give you some examples of what I’m talking about.... -The prices for drink specials are not listed, therefore they charge you double. -Do not order condiments such as sour cream or cheese sauce. A small side of sour cream is $1.75, and a tiny side of cheese sauce is $3.75 You will go into this restaurant thinking a dinner for 2 will be coming in at around $30, but don’t be surprised when you get a bill for $60. Let’s talk about food quality. The food can be really good, or really bad. Never ever order take out from this restaurant, as you will certainly get the worst this restaurant has to offer. Lastly, there are some really great servers at this restaurant. However, you may go and get terrible customer service. I’ve found that the host or person at the register is usually a younger person, and they by far have the worst attitude of the entire staff. Find a different Mexican restaurant, because I’ve found that you can do so much better.

It's kind of fallen off from the years, one thing that really annoyed me is that for the ACP dish which literally stands for chicken rice and cheese... They charge you an extra dollars for the cheese? I figured that would come with it... Small nit picks but it's still worthy to be brought up. Still good food though!

The worst experience since minute 1. Hadn’t done back in months because last time was awful as well, but we believe in second chances, so we came back tonight. The 3 stars go to the food, which was decent. However, service is simply terrible! Had to wait for someone to come and take our orders for almost 10 minutes. My son had to go to get the menus form the countertop. Then food was served, and no one got us silverware. We finish our dinner... and had to wait 15 more minutes for someone to bring us a to-go box... we won’t be back.

Ordered Mexican street tacos to go. They had all 3 wadded up together in one piece of tinfoil so the shells were soggy and couldn't pick them apart. I called and complained and the response was, "ok do you want me to tell manager?" Then trying to eat some with a fork, I find a hair. I finally ate at this place despite living in Asheville for years. I was planning on eating at Stone Bowl but they were closed. Papas was a great backup. Their house bean dip is the best ive ever had. Creamy and spicy. I wanted to take home a gallon of it. My entree was filling and delicious. Everyone got to go boxes. I cant wait to come back and try something different from their large menu.

The food is delicious and comforting as always, the price is low and and portions are big.
