An otherwise lovely meal was ruined by their hostess. She was talking on the phone with her back toward the door when we arrived. We waited several minutes as a line began to form. This is not a big deal normally. She’s busy and alone, but she did not turn around and make eye contact with anyone or even give us a simple hand gesture to let us know she was aware of us. Then she spat out grumpy greeting, was so abrupt and surly and put out by having to interact with us that we ended up feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. If this wasn’t the third restaurant we had tried tonight - the other two were closed - I would have left. Our waiter was wonderful and the food was generous in portions and tasty. My husband had a Caesar salad with salmon which he enjoyed despite the fact that they forgot to put on any dressing. I have not been to this restaurant in several years. It was a very odd and mixed experience for us. Honestly, it might be another few years before I go back because I am leery of any restaurant that would hire, train and retain a hostess like the one who we met tonight. I don’t usually leave negatives reviews but I was so taken aback I thought others might want to be aware.

Beautiful restaurant with comfortable seating and southern hospitality. We arrived in time for happy hour and ordered one of everything! There was not one bad dish, meatballs were tasty, truffle Mac and Cheese decadent, calimari was lightly spiced, charcuterie board delicious mix. Would definitely return!

One of the best restaurants in the Charlotte area! Beautiful atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, exceptional wine list, and knowledgeable bartenders. Above all, the food is Incredible!!! Great pizzas, blackened salmon, crab stuffed trout, beef short ribs, & lamb chops. But, the Duck Duo is, hands down, my favorite entree in town!

We’ve been twice and received five star service and one star service, hence the 3-star review. On both occasions we brought our own bottle. The first visit the manager came over and opened the bottle, decanted it and had a lively discussion with us about the winery it came from. On the second visit the server who handled our bottle (2011 Quintessa) had no idea what she was doing. She opened it and tried to pour it directly into our glasses! This bottle not only needed to be decanted but also strained due to the age and accumulation of sediment. I had to ask her to stop and bring a decanter. The wine was not strained and had an excessive amount of sediment. After our stellar first visit I though bringing such a nice bottle would be no big deal - after all they are a restaurant who pride themselves on their knowledge of California wines. I really wish I’d saved it to be enjoyed properly. Also the food on our second visit was terrible. We both ordered a steak special and were served absolutely raw steaks. The server was so frazzled we didn’t bother sending them back. I had stomach issues for two days after that dinner. My fault for eating the steak, but they really should have been cooked properly to start. I’m conflicted since our first visit was so great. I’ll give them another chance in a few months, maybe it was an off night.

We visited during Restaurant Week and really enjoyed it. It was great to try it like this and now we know we want to go back. They have a very good wine list, but I chose to bring my own bottle and pay the $15 corkage fee. The wines by the glass seemed limited, but an extensive list for bottles. They were very busy, but service was excellent and not overbearing. We did feel slightly rushed though. The Napa house salad was an interesting twist and good dressing. The Hanger steak was good, but do not get it medium rare like I did. It is not that great of a cut of meat to get by on anything less than medium. Mussels in the pink cream sauce was AWESOME. I wanted a cup of the sauce to take home.

We had a bridal shower there and the food was marginal at best. I think my waffle was made of crepe batter and the chicken was breaded like fish and fried to a crisp. Oh and the crab on toast was equivalent to potted meat. Nice space but a little knat issue.

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the salmon and it was really tasty. Also the bread they served pre-meal was like a sweet/savory apple pie inspired bread. Really good. Service was also decent, though the food was definitely the highlight of our lunch here.

We went by and asked about a table for 10 for a Saturday night. Kim (manager) was great and showed us an outdoor patio area that we could have all to ourselves. The food was delicious. Our waiter, Clint, was fantastic and the settings was so nice and relaxing. Everyone loved it & raved about the location and food. I had the tuna tartare and napa salad. It was delicious.

First visit after months of consideration was for Restaurant Week and we loved it. Food was delicious (a couple items more than others) and the service outstanding. Even had a nice chat with the manager when she dropped by the table. So many good restaurants in Charlotte that we do not go back much, but this is definitely one we would. I think the brunch would be great and happy hour has fantastic drink and food prices. Loved it!

Parking lot was full. If there were directions to an overflow lot, I missed them. I parked at a nearby bank and worried all through lunch that I might be towed! Reception was warm and helpful and seated my group quickly though we didn't have reservations and the restaurant was nearly full. Unfortunately, the back room in which we were seated was chilly, to the point of discomfort. I'd planned to get soup but the selection was very limited. Instead I ordered just two sides and am so glad I did! The mashed butternut squash and the sauteed mushrooms were both excellent and the quantities, generous. My colleagues ordered salads with grilled chicken. They were pleased. The service was above average. Great teamwork among the waiter, busboys, and kitchen staff, but our waiter disappeared and left us wondering how to get our drinks refilled. Separate checks were offered and happily provided.

Great seasonal menus with something for everyone. For this lunch visit I had the grilled cheese with the red pepper bisque. The thick-sliced bread was grilled perfectly, with the mixed cheeses oozing out. And the soup was terrific. Get there early for lunch as they can get quite busy, which will affect service.

As I was walking to my car after our meal my phone rings, it’s the manager of the restaurant to inform me that I had taken the signed copy of the bill, which I did not. She then proceeded to ask if I would like to come back into the restaurant so I could leave gratuity for the server. As I found that to be very rude, the hostess called me back a minute later saying they had found the receipt and I didn’t need to come back. The fact the manager didn’t have enough respect to call back herself and apologize for accusing me of leaving without giving the server a tip is the reason I will never return.

This was my first time at Napa on Providence. The food was excellent, the hostess & server were very polite and helpful with the menu... I’m OCD and the only disappointment I experienced was when I asked for a straw for my water the server brought me a straw with his hands; which is a NO NO! GERMS!! So, I decided to go to the bar or counter to get another straw and that person also they me a straw with his hands... I asked the person if they had any covered straws he stated no... So, this time he gave me straws in a napkin, but those straws were out in the open and no telling who hands had been on them... I had a HOT cup of water at my table which I put my straws in...

Came here for a dinner when my parents were in town. The menu is large enough to have something for most everyone in your party. The atmosphere felt private and intimate. This place is a great place for celebrating a special occasion or just going out for a few cocktails and some fine cuisine.

I want to give a shout out to Napa on Providence and Leigh who helped me coordinate a luncheon for 15, for my son's confirmation. They were amazing. Leigh was so patient with my 95 year old mother-in-law and got everyone's order right. Mimosas were great! Wine pours are great! They were quick to help; food was amazing and they even served our pre-bought cake. This was a great experience. Not a single complaint! So for Bridal luncheons, Rehearsal dinners....this is your spot!

Great food, service and atmosphere!! We were recommended this restaurant while on vacation and it did not disappoint!! Our waiter was attentive and cordial. The chef even sent out a starter dish to our surprise!! We had the Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs which was a great dish to share as an appetizer. Really delish! For our entree, we had the Veal Saltimbocca which had a delicious marsala sauce and mushrooms. The stuffing was also tasty and the veal tender. We enjoyed a tap glass of Chardonnay with our meal. Our waiter Aaron was great and made our experience a memorable one!!

My first visit to Napa on Providence was for a private event. The staff was very attentive and provided great service to our party. We had a variety of appetizer plates including salmon, calamari, bruschetta and an assorted cheese plate. They have a vast wine and beer and I enjoyed the Crab Cakes as my entree. They were delicious and topped off a unique styled Cole Slaw. The menus are super huge, but the staff waited until we were ready to order before bringing them to the table, so they didn't take up space for long. The atmosphere is comforting and there is also great outdoor seating. Can't wait to return!

What a cool lunch place. Great area of Charlotte in Meyers Park. Providence Road. We really enjoyed the BBQ sandwich. Really tasty and generous portions. My wife had the salmon entree. It was very fresh and delicious. Service was excellent. If you want a great lunch this is the place.

We decided to give Napa on Providence a try on a whim for an anniversary dinner. We felt welcomed and at home from the moment we walked in the door. Very understated elegance, the staff was exceptional, and food was mind blowing. Shaun, our waiter, made us feel incredibly special in the most relaxed way. He took a personal story, added a note on our leftovers that was from that story. We felt so taken care of the entire time. This is our new anniversary spot, we cannot wait to enjoy more celebrations in this amazing space. Thank you for everything! We cannot explain in words how much we loved our experience.

A very good find in Charlotte... beautiful ambience.. delicious food.. our waitress was friendly, checking on us regularly... food was cooked to perfection... loved the wine list selection... 2 things that didn't go well for us.. pork belly was too oily (deep fried) but every bite was biting into oil.. my boyfriend ended up throwing up after we got home Other one was no chocolate cake or chocolate mousse.. they has white chocolate cheesecake but majority of restaurants do ensure they serve chocolate based dessert.. something to consider ...

Prices are, well, pricey... Not in line with the quality. I would endorse this place though not necessarily recommend it.

I had the short rib hash and it was amazing! I also tried a piece of the hanger steak and that was delicious as well. The mimosas were a perfect ratio of champagne to orange juice. We got a carafe for $18 which wasn't bad. Service was good and the ambiance was nice. I'd recommend this for brunch again.

Their salads are quite good as are selections from the brunch menu. Their coffee is just okay. It has a nice crisp classic fresh California feel to it.

This was one of the best meals I've EVER had. My daughter and I sat on the patio, which was lovely. We both enjoyed our appetizers, though she commented that her kale would have been better had it been massaged. (She kind of knows what she's talking about as she has extensive experience with her vegan diet.) In any case, my food was perfect, as was the atmosphere. I feel our serve could have been friendlier, but she was adequate and the support staff more than made up for it. I'm excited to go back, try more menu items, and hopefully get to know the talented people who make this the wonderful place it is!

We've been four times and even recommended Napa to friends in the past. The first visits, all in 2018, were very good and we felt the value for food and the experience was in-line. This most-recent visit in summer 2019, however, the food was all poor. Unfortunately, with all three of the courses ordered this past visit being well below par, coupled with a hefty bill of $175 for two people (including tip & two drinks each - beer and house wine), I felt obligated to reduce the rating to only two stars to reflect how disappointed we are in what we felt was a solid neighborhood favorite.

Our office went to Napa this afternoon for a birthday celebration. The ambiance was lovely, the food was so delicious, and our waiter, Kevin, was charming, attentive and well informed! This was my first time there, and I was a little nervous when the Hostess was so unpleasant. No smile, sour attitude - we felt like we were bothering her -- not a welcome I was expecting. Otherwise, I would have given this lovely place 5 stars. I'll definitely come back.

This is one of my favorite go to restaurants in Charlotte. I most often go for happy hour drink and appetizer specials. I always like to add the ahi tuna appetizer which isn't a happy hour special but too good not to get. The ambience is great and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Enter into a well-designed, Napa-inspired lobby and bar. John helps you with a gregarious, but knowledgeable and friendly “local” attitude And style. The low lit space is intimate, but friendly. We wait to meet our dinner guests and head to the table. The waiter seems a little aloof but gets us situated. While we have our Menus, he only shares today’s specials when asked. The specials (our favorite the salmon roulade) are interesting and inspire us. Many of us order the specials. The meal is very very tasty and dessert is good, as well. We enjoyed our evening because the food, the environment and our dinner mates were top notch.
