The service here was phenomenal! Taking us in late near closing time, but not rushing us out the door. Food was proportionate, increase the price for increase in food. Desserts are made in house and are expected to exceed great taste with local suppliers. I will definitely return to try one of their new menu items which they cycle most items out monthly.

James Van Dyke

Great food, made with many local ingredients. Portion sizes are small/reasonable. Feel free to mix and match the small and medium plates to sample more. Ambience is good and waitstaff was very friendly. Cocktials are worth trying and there's a huge wine list by the glass along with recommended pairings on the menu. Owned by a local and worth trying.

Aimee Kuelling

Delightful. Love the relaxed decor, simple menu and amazing staff. Highly recommend making a reservation. We snuck in for breakfast, just before their rush... But, finished just as the music was starting for brunch. Highly recommend.

Anna Brown

Brunch at Chestnut was absolutely wonderful! Great atmosphere, food, and bloody Mary’s. Highly recommend the butternut quinoa eggs Benedict!

Garrett Boyd

We ate there for brunch and showed up just after opening at 10 on Sunday. It had plenty of seats but that quickly changed by 11 and every table was filled at 1130. Great food and service was kind and friendly. Moderate pricing for brunch at least with an amazing bloody Mary .

Max Mickey

Awesome cocktails, and it was the best ribeye I've ever had. A small menu, but they do it all very very well. Mark of a great restaurant.

Dave Fritz

Excellent brunch and amazing customer service.

R Havlicek

"Medium dishes" are barely an appetizer. Very over priced.

MOOK! theBTSG

Amazing food.

Carolyn Sue Drover-Maddox

Had lunch here with a friend. This was my first visit. The food was perfectly delicious. Taylor, our waiter, was knowledgeable, friendly and saw to all our needs. I will definitely be back.

Tylitha Curles

The food was great! I had a bacon cheeseburger and it was done perfectly! The hostess was super friendly!

Mary Lee Malovany

Yum! Fantastic summer salad with amazing house made dressing

Celeste Zipperer

Guessing by patronage on a very rainy day, this is a hit! WONDERFUL food, carefully prepared, and beautifully presented. Not fussy, just can tell these folks know food and are confident and proud of their work. Great atmosphere in an old building, they've left the tin ceiling exposed. They are chock full of seating options, having a bar area up front, dining around that area, and another section of dining set apart from the front. Great decor, lighting, fixtures, and artwork! The feel is casual, yet we were treated with superb care. Fun menu with lots of creative yet down home choices. Dessert is a MUST. Seriously, we did it to celebrate a birthday, but the sweets here are Divine, certainly not run of the mill. Highly recommend, be patient and have a reservation! Though there's room for many, the feel remains cozy. Here you take your time, savor, and leave well satisfied.

Lisa Mayfield

Wonderful food and drinks! Great service!

Don Vance

A beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy, sophisticated and romantic. The food is good to alright. We dined there today and were disappointed with our meal. Our Lobster Bisque was lukewarm at best. The flavor of the soup is excellent, but it needs to be hot. The service today was excellent. Although, our waiter (also the bartender today) failed to ask us how our meal was. He had a station by the bar, was making drinks and waiting on tables. He did a nice job Perhaos the restaurant was short staffed today? Overall, we had a good experience, but we were expecting an excellent experience, so we left disappointed.

M H

The brunch was fun and friendly. There were enough choices to keep my 3 boys ages 8-13 happy. And there was enough of a twist on the classics to satisfy a foodie. I had the fried green tomatoes eggs Benedict. The tomatoes were tart and tangy. The doughnuts were delish and buttery. The waffles and pancakes satisfied my boys.

Melissa H

Great service, great creative takes on southern cuisine!

Shirley Lumston

Very good food presented well, Dyllon is an excellent server.

Patrick Fox

Sat at the bar for dinner. Engaging and quick bar service, good drink and food.

Marcio G.

Great staff, great drink selection and cool atmosphere. Prices are decent and the food is too notch.

Sean Henderson

Just ate there today with my family. I was just slightly disappointed by everything I tried. My French fries were over fried and soggy. My Rueben was so greasy it seemed like it had been deep fried—and I love fat, but this was just too oily. My sisters burger was tasty, but again, overly oily. The autumn salad had way too much cheese and not enough hazelnuts, and the dressing tasted a little off for me. Even the lobster bisque was just meh— it was fine, but not remarkable. Their back seating area has really bright overhead lights shining down directly onto the table from above, which is also a pet peeve of mine. I believe this causes baldness, and cancer, so I much prefer filtered light. There should be no bare bulbs, now where my eye can’t look without being blinding, in a dining room, and they just miss the mark on that. But it was all decent and edible. Not sure if I would go back.

Riley Jarvis

Ok spot for tasty American food. great spot for an appetite of any size.

Serena Porter

Amazing! Cannot say enough good things! Chesnut was recommended as a place to celebrate a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. From the appetizer to the entree to the dessert. Good service and nice atmosphere. Within quick walking distance from nearby parking deck.

Joyce Cahoon

Great ambience and live music, a little disappointed by the chestnut brunch bowl, the flavors are all great alone, but too rich together. The rhubarb poptart though is on point, would definitely try again

Paul Cressend Jr

Love their sandwiches! Had the Cuban. Never fails. Calimari appetizer was good, wish there was less greens, more calimari.

Victor Sutton

Best food and service you can find. Marchel and Taylor are tops in the industry.

Sydney Epter

wonderful and nice place to eat. I have been there for dinner and breakfast and highly recommend it.

Annalisa Littleton

Chestnut is one of my favorite restaurants in Asheville. They are very willing to do substitutions for dietary needs and the food is very good. I normally get the petite-filet in a double serving. They have good seasonal salads as well. I often eat here with family and everyone is always happy with their meal.

Randy Taylor

We did have to wait 45 mins for a table but we went shopped while we waited and the food was worth the wait. Amazing. The staff was very friendly.

Gina

Delicious and friendly

Sharon Malmberg

Excellent food and service. Beautiful place! Highly recommend.

Frank Freitas

Such a beautiful restaurant with pleasant souls serving the guests. Jessica was such a sweetheart to me when I came in and sat at the bar by myself... I appreciate good food and a nice restaurant, but having quality people employed makes experiences unforgettable. Cheers and Namaste.

Shannon James

Truffle fries were amazing. The pork chop had a bad charcoaled flavor but even the sides were smokey, to me it was too much smoke/charcoal. I get rib eye a lot and realize it's fatty but it was extremely fatty. What I ate of it was good but I don't like the potato being the sunshine of my dinner. I'd recommend thicker rib eyes. Two stars were for the pork and rib eye disappointment. Potatoes were a 5!

Enrique Martinez

Best farm to table restaurant in Asheville. The menu changes monthly to maintain quality in food seasonality/ availability. We ordered lobster bisque, grilled salmon and quail. The quail was served as a pair, one fried and the other oven roasted..... just delicious.

Gwenda Barath

Great food, excellent charcuterie. Wonderful staffing and service. Good wine and nice decor in a convenient location.

John Gamradt

beautiful space, exceptional food. well done all around

Tom Miller

Went there for brunch with family and met my niece and their family had a great meal everyone ordered different items off the menu and no one complained. Only issue was not enough..Server was friendly and they attended our table as needed. I had the burger and enjoyed it. Would recommend if in the area to check it out might call ahead if you have a few people as it's often crowded we made reservations.

Susan Hill

Very disappointed with much anticipated dinner. The famous lobster bisque was tepid and tasteless. The wild mushroom risotto was more cherry tomato than mushroom. Only thing decent was cocktails. Will not visit again

Casey Jepsen

Good food. Friendly service. Good for groups.

Michele Olsen

This is one of my favorite Asheville restaurants!!

Sandy

Great food. Amazing service.

Anastacia Urbine

Great service with amazing food and drinks!

Tinkeringeek Kissimmee FL

Unique food menu, and it's very tasty. Nice ambience and friendly service

Claire Crawford

Had the crimini mushroom soup and chips for lunch - both we delicious. Server was soft-spoken, polite & knowledgeable about the dishes. Really enjoyed the atmosphere & furnishings.

Eric Wingfield

For the price I expected to experience at least a little bit more flavor. The food looked great, but the flavor was paltry at best. The calamari was tiny, bland, and overcooked. I ordered the fresh catch Red Snapper, pan seared and my wife ordered the NY strip. Again, both dishes were sorry offerings. Even though the steak was alright, the sides were naked and begging for a dash of garlic salt with a little butter. My pan seared snapper tasted like the chef cut it off the fish and tossed it straight into the oil without so much as a sprinkling of salt or any other seasoning. To make matters worse, what should have been a crisp skin turned into a soggy mess since they put a scoop of marscapone cheese to melt on top of it. Good idea, very poor execution. Chestnut is lucky that we dined on a gift card otherwise they would have received a single star. For a restaurant of this caliber there needs to be some serious changes in the kitchen and more pride taken in the menu.

Lizabeth Watman

Wait staff top notch. Beautiful atmosphere and live music. Had eggs Benedict delicious and cooked well. Fresh fruit not so fresh and warm.

Cynthia Peek

Very good as usual. The staff is so wonderful and most helpful. They have amazing people and food Our waitress was a delight.

Samantha Okowita

The service was helpful, and genuinely wanted us to enjoy ourselves. Brunch was sensational with quality coffee, pimento deviled eggs, and a banana foster Pop tart!!! We enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner( equally delicious and exciting for their options)! It ranges from cozy and casual during the day, and then turns on its swanky by night!! The only thing which could have been better was the cocktail, which was good, but not as exciting as the rest of the meal.

**

The food was delicious!! Our waitress was wonderful. The menu is seasonal and locally sourced ingredients were very fresh. The salads were unique and tasty. Ordered Sea Bass as the daily catch and it was phenomenal! The setting is comfortable and located downtown with a wonderful staff. One of Asheville's best restaurants.

Idaliz Guadalupe

Very impressed! We came for brunch and there was a small band playing light jazz, among other genres. We ordered the special (a ribeye hash), and the capicola eggs Benedict. Both dishes were amazing and well-prepared. For the price they were well beyond expectations, as both meals were under $15. The ambience was very laid back, but slightly upscale. We sat at the bar due to a last minute decision, but I recommend getting a reservation before you come here. I highly recommend anyone visit here and enjoy the wonderful service, relaxed ambience, and amazing food.

Acacia Farlow

Had a great brunch with a delightful atmosphere! Would definitely go again.

Jon Beasley

Medium plates are priced right for a taste that satisfies. Save room for Amanda's favorite banana cake!

Kate Brown

Excellent service and very good food. A little pricey for lunch.

Susan B

We chose Chestnut for my daughter's birthday dinner and had a fabulous experience from beginning to end. Don't bypass the Truffle Fries, the twist on Fried Green Tomatoes, or some of the other small plates, they are well worth sampling. We like to share and taste each other's choices and all were delicious. The Rabbit Wellington was my personal favorite, what a great way to prepare this dish! Dietary restrictions were readily addressed by the helpful servers and generously accommodated by Chestnut's chef, which we much appreciated. The atmosphere is relaxed and even though it was busy - the place was packed on Saturday evening - it didn't feel crowded. It would certainly be advisable to make a reservation at any time, this is a very popular restaurant. I'd highly recommend this place, we will be back for sure!

Chris Hamilton

If someone stopped me on the street and asked me what the best restraunt for fine dining was in asheville, my immediate answer would be the chestnut. It has never failed to live up to the exhausting standard that I set for it. There menu rotates seasonally and along with their craft cocktail list. I cant stress how wonderful a culinary experience the chestnut is. If your a foody do not miss this stop. I also havent even touched on the delicious desert menu. It needs a review all it's own. Needless to say it's good enough to fight to the death for with spoons. The chestnut in my opinion is the best experience in Asheville. Enjoy!

Mf Nesbitt

Delicious! Very enjoyable setting.

lior miller

Service and food were excellent. Great rib-eye steak.

Robert Kadunce

Great food and atmosphere. Friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Honestly they could charge a little more and no one would probably bat an eye it's that good.

Pam Copeland

AWESOME service and food!!! Atmosphere was great...food out of this world!!! Celebrated our 29th Wedding Anniversary!!!

Kim Vaughan

Fantastic food and excellent service/management (Brad) and a sweet waitress (Samantha) they all did an amazing job. I highly recommend this fine eatting establishment to all.

Robin Greene

The service and good was incredible! Highly recommend it!

Dave Mazon

Great dining experience. The mussels were in a sauce I literally wanted to turn the bowl up and drink! I used the bread and my spoon instead. *S* Excellent service - despite being packed, staff stopped by frequently to check on us and fill glasses. I will be back when in area. Thanks!

Al Gibbs

Great food and outstanding service A+

Judy Griffin

American food... delicious. I had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here.

Mike Eddy

Now that Hominy Grill is closed (was in Charleston SC), Chestnut has my fave shrimp & grits

Adam Tuiletufuga

Visited for Brunch and loved it! Atmosphere is great, with old fashioned decor all around. Service was quick and our waitress was attentive and nice. I had a the Agers Breakfast, which is your classic eggs, bread and a side. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the sausage was great, the English muffin was toasted just right, and the crispy potatoes were DELICIOUS (includes Yukon gold and sweet potatoes diced and fried). My wife had their homemade Poptart, which was huge taking up the whole plate. She liked the berry(?) filling a lot. We will gladly return for brunch next time we are visiting Asheville!

Crystal Vickers

My favorite restaurant in Asheville. I go here every time I visit, which is multiple times a year. The manager is great. We got engaged in Asheville and we to eat at Chestnut for dinner. The manager found out and he comped our meal, it was such an amazing surprise!! The food quality and service is top notch with perfect portions. Strongly recommend!! The cheese board is our go to, so definitely try it if you're into that!

Pam Ghozali

Love the lobster bisque!! Food, service and atmosphere were excellent.

Samantha Casey

Fantastic food, great atmosphere and wonderful service. You have to try the homemade blueberry lavender ice cream, it is to die for!

Darren Simes

Wonderful restaurant. Great service and awesome menu options. The menu selections often included locally sourced items.

Greg Schuler

Everything first class. Service at bar was excellent and food delicious. My go to spot every time I come to Asheville.

Poppa Pump

Giving this place 3 stars was being generous. The lobster bisque was good. The stuffed octopus was good but more stuffing than octopus. The main courses were a disappointment. The risotto was cold on top but hot on the inside. The cream sauce it should have didn't exist and seemed more of a solid dish without the sauce. The rabbit meat was good BUT the breading shell it was cooked in was doughy and not edible. The server was very friendly and offered multiple times to recook the whole dish or replace it. She did discount the cost off the total bill at the end which was nice. The dessert was a blueberry meringue which we switched the lemon ice cream for a blueberry lavender. The "dehydrated" fruit just seemed like frozen fruit from a bag. The meringue was VERY good and the ice cream, which was the ice cream of the month i might add, was ok. The atmosphere was quiet and romantic in setting and the waitress was extremely nice. I was disappointed with this place especially after the high rating it has on yelp and Google....

Susan Adams

Absolutely love this place. Consistent quality that exceeds expectations.

Toby Willse

So good I went twice while I was in the area. Excellent food and service. Will definitely be back.

Will Bishop

Food was average at best. Service at bar was well below average but food did arrive promptly. Dinner for two was $100 before tip. Lots of better places to get a great meal with excellent service for that spend.

janette smith

Service was very friendly and the location is great. The salad was very good the first day I ate there but the falafel platter was pretty bad the second day. Not many vegetarian options.

Cody Lassiter

My Husband and I went to Chestnut back in February for his birthday. I had called and made reservations and special arrangements for champagne and a nice little booth with an intimate atmosphere. The staff and the manager were absolutely incredible, warm, and truly gave my husband a birthday to remember. Our waitress, though her name escapes me was absolutely fabulous, and I have no real words for how greatful we were for the hospitality. We are from out of town and have both worked in the service and hospitality industry. We WILL be returning again to enjoy a lovely meal and good company at Chestnut.

Howard Stravitz

Excellent brunch and service!

Matthew Fatheree

Came here for a Sunday brunch and left happy and full. Didn't need a reservation at 10:00am, but by 10:30 the place was pretty full. Food and drinks were on point and will definitely recommend Chestnut to everyone.

Argery Giavasis

Try their homemade donuts if they haven't sold out for the day! Delicious breakfast and lunch options. Reservations are definitely recommended. A little hard to find but it is on the main road...the sign is just hard to read.

Luna J

The peach melt was for sure one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Truffle fries are also amazing. Good service. Will definitely be back.

Robin Baine

This place was recommended to us by a couple of people so we decided to try it. For a farm to table is was awesome. The menu changes monthly. We had the rib eye and the strawberry salad. Make a reservation in advance we got lucky and were able to sit in the window which was great for people watching. V

Gayle Middleton

We had the best lunch here before leaving for our flight north. Everything was tasty and filling, and we all wanted bites of each other's food. What a great ending to a wonderful trip to NC!

Mary Furr

Good things about this restaurant is their location, a straight drive on Biltmore Ave. from I-240. Staff was very friendly, sat us earlier than our reservation, served us in timely manner. They are open at 10 AM for brunch and have an impressive looking menu. They looked very clean. Not so good things about this restaurant is that their outside sign does not stand out as easy to find. My sister, my husband and myself had trouble locating the sign. Parking can be an issue as well. My sister's poached eggs on her Eggs Benedict were firmly well done (she and I expected a runny yolk), the meat was not Canadian bacon and there was very little hollandaise sauce. The waitress had told me they had fried chopped potatoes but I did not know that it was a mixture of sweet potato and white potato. I don't like sweet potatoes. No body noticed that I just left the sweet potatoes on the plate. There was no presentation of the food. It was just plopped on the plate. My sister and I both have noted that it is too bad that the food was not really good because if it had been we would have returned.

Marilyn Kirby

Absolutely amazing....Scott was the best!

OxOKhananOxO

Our waitress, Samantha, was exceptional. The service was fast, the ambiance was amazing. Highly recommended!

John Frank

What a benedict! Fantastic food and service.

Lisa Morris Brown

We love this place! Their menu changes with the seasons so that everything is always fresh and delicious. The lobster bisque is outstanding and so is their wait staff. I highly recommend this place if you are visiting or live in Asheville.

Amanda Sorrow

Can't wait to go back. Awesome service. Awesome food.

Joc Jernigan

This was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a while, and def one of if not the best in Asheville, as have had some awesome and not so awesome experiences here. The place is right on Broadway and has an incredible rustic, nice, and clean atmosphere. We were seated and presented with server (my man Woody) promptly. Our drinks orders were taken and delivered fast, and they were delicious ( awesome bloody and great mimosa carafe). Next app orders were taken and served promptly. Lobster bisque and pop tarts were incredible and delicious. Then our main courses were taken and served which were also fantastic. We got the eggs Benedict and the pork belly eggs Benedict which were delicious! Loved the cornbread base. Also cheese grits cooked perfectly, and not too creamy. Entire experience was awesome and refreshing. Can’t wait to go back!

Doug Harder

Food was exceptional. Service very good. Been there for Sunday brunch & dinner. Lived it both times. Can't wait to return to Asheville to eat there again!

Lance McAlister

Boozy Fresh Toast for Sunday Brunch was outstanding.

Amy & Chad Long

Server was wonderful. Quality ingredients, several were locally sourced. Made for a great experience.

Thomas Anders

I came to Chestnut for dinner with my wife and we loved it! Great atmosphere and delicious food! Two thumps up!

Niki Saylor

Locally sourced ingredients are featured on a unique menu that changes monthly, with some favorite dishes that are mainstays. The lobster bisque, Petit filet mignon and the lemon poppy cheesecake were top notch.

Zachary Crump

Asheville is a picturesque and quaint mountain town nestled in the hills of North Carolina. Well know now for breweries and the majestic blue ridge mountains as well as the monumentous house know as Biltmore. But a slightly less know area is cuisine. Chestnut is a true step above. The creative cocktails and menu are an inspiration to the most adamant foodie, and the knowledge of the waitstaff is an inspiration that reminds me of the best service I've had in the top tier restaurants of New York City. Ely was exceptional. No matter the dish, she knew it well and explain it perfectly. But the real treat, the lobster bisque. I've enjoyed lobster in every form all over New England, this bisque, it is a true testament to what is possible. It is rich, it is creamy and it is busting with flavor! Our whole table enjoyed it so much, co-owner Joe Scully had to come out to see what all the fuss was about. This personal service and attention to detail truly set them apart. If you're in the area, make sure and stop by, you will not be disappointed.

Tabitha

Good ambience. The man across was good looking which the breakfast so much better. Service was great as well as the food.

Lila Diaz

One of the best meals I have EVER had. Try the pork chop with chard, apples and peaches, and parsnip augratin. We were there on a Saturday morning. We were seated promptly. Our food was excellent and all of the other dishes we saw looked great. Happily recommend this restaurant. The food is creative and authentic. It's one of my go-to restaurants in Asheville. Originally from Chicago.Very clean and "open". Good location in town. Food good, but no better than Corner Kitchen, Service very good, Beer great !

Kathy Harter

Awesome Sunday Brunch! The prime was Rib Breakfast Burrito was a flavor bomb. Don't miss the house made donuts.

Jason Martin

Advertises oyster and doesn't have them. Terrible hosstess.

Brian Danielian

Love this place! The food and service are consistently great.

Tuck Corvinus

Wait was long, presention was blah and for a $40 steak I would expect my salad on a seperate plate. Desert was good and corn ice cream was a pleasant surprise.

Brian Grimes

Great brunch with something for everyone on the menu. Excellent service, some of the best trained wait staff I've ever encountered. Easy access to the rest of downtown Asheville. This place is gonna be my go to from now on.

Michael Gardner

Great brunch, great food, amazing server - Michaela - made the meal!

Tom Hunter

One of the best restaurants ever.

Mark McNees

Excellent service and food.

Barrett Miller

My girlfriend and I spent a week in Asheville and we were dedicated to trying different restaurants every day. Chestnut was by far the best meal we had all week. If we had one more day this would have been the only place we went back to. The staff was attentive and it was clear the manager really cared about our experience.

Briana Chavez

Great food, awesome service, and welcoming atmosphere!

Jerome Mettetal

Just had another great lunch here at Chestnut restaurant! We don't get to Asheville often but love to come here for lunch when possible. I had Turkey Sliders today and they were great. Hand cut fries could not have been done better and had a scoop of Mocha and Caramel ice cream to top it off. Service was perfect and price was good!

B Diditagain

My dining experience at the Chestnut was excellent. Please keep in mind that I planned to splurge a bit before I chose this restaurant. If you're looking for cheap and quick, choose somewhere else. This is the place to visit if you want to enjoy a tasty cocktail with good company, savor the freshly prepared, artistically served dishes, and generally relax in the charming, laid back atmosphere. I might add that the staff is quite accommodating and friendly and the location is excellent. Please don't skip their uniquely delicious desserts.

S B

Lobster bisque was excellent. Everything else was a bit underwhelming. Bacon scallops were softer on the inside than used to. Fried green tomatoes sounded good. Just did not do it for me. Lots of good choices. I just did not land on one except for the bisque.

Will Chatham

Never had a bad experience here in the several times I've been there. Nice cocktails, decent bourbon selection. My only qualm is that, as a picky eater, there's no default safe bet, like a burger. Still, the wife loves it, and I've usually been able to find something pretty good.

S. Mark Tenen

It's a really fine restaurant with a nice ambiance. I'd tell you what I ate that I liked so much but it'll be off the menu in a month replaced with something equally as delicious...

Hope Vickers

A true dining experience. They don't disappoint and the service is exceptional.

Yukon Biker

We have been to Chesnuts more than a few times. Never disappointed. One of the top 5 restaurants in Asheville.

Amber S

The food is wonderful, but the quantity is not worth the prices in my opinion. Our table had reservations and also waited a very long time for seating and again for food, however the waitress was super sweet. Overall 3 out of 5 experience, would probably try other restaurants in the area before going again.

Tavares Johnson

Had a business dinner here and great spot for that. The food was so delicious and amazing. I had the shrimp and grits which were phenomenal!! I also had the truffle fries which were hot and full of flavor. Excellent wine list and cool atmosphere. Will definitely return here when I'm back in town.

nam hee Park

I wouldn't eat here again. Did i just order the worst food from the menu?! The steak was overcooked, the risotto was just melted cheese over rice, the quail was undercooked at the legs and overcooked at the breast part. The sauce with the scallops tasted like medicine. Overall too expensive for the unremarkable quality.

Quincy Yeates

the ambiance was great. staff was excellent. food sub par. very disappointing, pretty inedible actually. had to send stuff back. our waitress felt sorry for us and suggested the mash potatoes. they get a star simply on the strength of those mash potatoes otherwise this would have been a 2 star rating. i don't know, maybe we went on an off night. everyone else around us seemed to be enjoying everything. good luck to you if you decide to go

Bobbie Bowen

Server a bit slow for our group of six. Never asked if she could refill our wine, also slow on iced tea refills. Never inquired if we were interested in dessert - just brought our checks. Food was very good. I'd have liked wider menu for lunch.

Candis Watterson

A hard place to get a reservation at, and with good reason! We were able to get a table and from the moment we walked into the door to when we left, the experience was top notch. Winter was our waiter and did a perfect job, her timing with checking in was just right and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. The menu: yet another Asheville place that makes things in house and with great care. The lobster bisque was amazing. I only got a cup and I wish I had ordered a bowl! The small plates were perfectly portioned and the truffle gnocchi (little pillows of fluffy goodness, made in house) was wonderfully flavored. The rest of the orders in our group were delicious as well. The wine was great as well. We took a look at the brunch menu and have vowed to be back soon for that! My thanks to everyone who makes Chestnut amazing!

Kimberly Hannah Trammell

Everything we tried was unique and amazing! Loved the shrimp and grits.

Tracie Sorrells

Delicious honest food with locally sourced items, they were very busy but took time to seat us outdoors with our pet which got to tag along for howling in the Aloft.....attentive server and you MUST try their home made ice cream the pastry chef is beyond talented, it's probably best for all collective waistlines they do not sell it to go!

Ramin Shahriari

Great service, great location, great atmosphere. Food was OK, not bad, but maybe I expected better. The "mountain to sea" was great. The steak was OK

judi jewell

Yum! And great service. Killer bloody

Doug Wingfield

Very good food and exceptional service!

Staci Dorr

The menu offered fresh and interesting options. Everything we had was delicious.

Quintin Costin

Pretty good. Service was a little slow and the portions are small. I was most disappointed when one of the cheeses on our charcuterie board was a yogurt.

Nataliya Kl

It is extraordinary place. We fall in love with all the unique and Hight quality and presentation food. Highly recommend.

tj navarro

Both versions of the eggs benedict were delicious and we'll thought out dishes, service was also great with glasses never getting below half full before refilled.

Thomas Brunhart

Had a lovely meal in this quaint artistic burg. I had the ribs and found them to be good, but not spectacular. The bartendress was so very nice and we did get Lobster Bisque that was out of this world. This is one restaurant worthy of a visit. We will go back to try more courses.

M. J. Taylor

Always great, original, locally sourced (when possible) cuisine. Creative and delicious. I always have the kale salad with calamari and carmalized lemon! Wow. Hard to beat the house made lobster bisque.

Santiago Bonilla

Very very very fancy and incredibly delicious. Get ready to pay a good amount for an entree. The customer service is second to none and the drink choice is Incredible. I had the venison tartare and it was to die for. If you are looking for somewhere to treat yourself, look no further.

Susanne Duplantis

Everything from ambiance to service was spot on. The menu is full of creative fresh fare. Had Chestnut Poutine and Reuben for brunch, both were excellent. Corned beef made in house and Benton's Red Eye Gravy on fries was divine!

Megumi Jones

Service was great and food was delicious!! I will go back

John Dinyari

Delicious food. Staff was accommodating and courteous about by food allergies

Nick McOwen

Great cocktails and attentive bar staff. The duck wellington and the cauliflower medium plates were exceptional. Our server made an error but it was more than compensated for later in the evening - quality customer care. The only reason it is 4 stars in because some of the wine smelled...off. This could have been due to an older open bottle or something with the glasses were given.... eventually we settled on the Quilt

William Cass

oh.....need more improvement. But not bad

Mark Moore

Ambience is warm and inviting from the hostess to table and kitchen delivers unpretentious creative quality food. We loved this restaurant. Would definitely go back. Wine selection strong and not overly marked up.

Mick Holbrook

This is one of my favorite places for lunch when I visit Asheville. The Ruben is simply amazing, and the service is top notch. Put this on your list of must visit restaurants. You will not be disappointed.

Ashley Halbert

I had the BLT and it was amazing. The table also had the truffle fries; they were so we'll seasoned and the garlic aoli was delicious. Definitely recommended

Fine dining in a relaxing and welcoming setting. You feel great eating these locally sourced dishes -- literally and physically. Highly recommend!

One of the best meals of my life. I came here for lunch and got 3 fabulous courses. I love that they switch up their menu and I can’t wait to try new creations.

We loved this restaurant! Every course of our meal was perfect and the staff was very friendly and efficient. We had a small sample from the chef, salad, soup, medium plates, and kids meals... All delicious. My favorite was the filet mignon, but the bacon wrapped scallops were great too. Our kids are very picky eaters and each finished their meals with no complaints. The restaurant has a great aesthetic and didn't get too noisy even when full. We would definitely eat here again and would recommend it to any of our friends.
