I am only giving 4 stars instead of 3 for service. I ordered the eggs Benedict but there was barely any hollandaise sauce. The breakfast tacos were average. However, the fried chicken is delicious!

This is a classy, yet casual place to get a quick bite of Southern seasonal eats. The tea is sweet and fresh! I had a pimiento cheese sandwich with bacon and a fried green tomato and it was excellent. Served with a unique potato salad, reminiscent of a German salad. The service was pleasant and efficient, even during a busy lunch.

This place surprised me. Stopped in for a bite on the way home from an event. It was late for dinner but we hadn't eaten before going out and this was on our way home. Plus, it was one of several places just recommended to me to try and the timing worked. It is in the Cameron Village shopping area but the shops were closed so we were able to pull up to a spot at the curb in front. The patio area was inviting and the weather beautiful, I was tempted to stop there - but in addition to a meal, we were interested in watching a football game - so we ventured deeper into the bar area and found a high top table with a view of 4 screens. 2 on the world series and 2 on college ball. I expected typical bar food but it was much more. I ordered the grilled chicken "little Italy" style with no bun and a cucumber tomato salad. He ordered a bunless burger "Atlanta" style with an almondine green bean side. All was delicious. Our server was also the bartender. He was courteous, on the ball, and very engaging. I asked about a drink on the menu and he gave me his opinion, then told me about another he makes that is not on the menu. I liked the sound of the one he told me about and it proved to be just what I wanted. All in all we were happy to have selected this place and will go back again.

Upscale restaurant and bar serving lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and late night. They have the usual range of burgers and sandwiches but also some delicious entrees like short rib and gumbo. They usually have a reasonable selection of craft beer. Service is usually good but occasionally can be really slow.

Really liked the cheerwine bbq sauce so I was sad to see it not on the menu anymore. As a college kid I pick my expensive meals very wisely so I was disappointed when the menu was changed. Would have been 5 stars of they hadn’t changed the sauce. The new house bbq sauce is just spicy ketchup. :(

Loved this place. Great meals and atmosphere. The reason they didn't receive 5 stars from me: there was a roach behind the couple we had dinner with. That would have been acceptable, as almost every kitchen has 1 on occasion. But when we took a second bottle of wine outside on the patio, we saw a half dozen more. This is unacceptable and must be dealt with.

Their shrimp and grits entree is AMAZING. As is most of their food. However, be warned that when you order steak there, they don't give you an actual steak, but little nubs of steak instead. Not worth the high price at all. Also I've ordered steak there twice and both times it was either slightly charred or well-done when I asked for med-rare. I don't recommend going here if you're in the mood for steak.

I so wanted to like this place but it was a mess. First, the type of wine I wanted was out (first world problem I know). Hubby and I placed our orders; him a BBQ sandwich and me the salmon (well done) with a ceasar salad. I had asked my salad to come out first which didn't happen. Our meals came out and I had to ask where my salad was. (I don't think she ever entered it since it wasn't on the check). When it came out the lettuce was wilted which seemed to indicate that it sat in the dressing for a while. I had asked my salmon to be well done (even noted on the receipt so it went to the kitchen that way) but the fish was almost completely raw. I returned it to be cooked no problem but it came back still raw. I think the problem was I didn't order a burger on $5 burger night. If you didn't order a burger last night the order was rushed and no attention given. VERY disappointed

Food is good enough, but nothing exceptional. I've tried a few of their burgers and have never been terribly impressed or disappointed. Service is normally pretty good and the Cameron Village location is nice.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Cozy atmosphere. Food of high quality. Had fried goat cheese salad that was very good. Fried green tomatoes would have become a favorite except for the pimento cheese type sauce put on top. Would have been better with just the aoli. Impressed with the draft cider. If in the area again, would definitely be a return customer.

Patio was lovely. My dish of Pimento BLT wasn’t very good, nor was the Caesar salad. However those with me say the Atlanta burger and pasta salad as a side were delicious. Mimosa was way too expensive for a tiny glass — $8!

We had an early supper here. We only had food. The food was good but not exceptional. For the venue the cost was expected and reasonable. Good place to visit with friends and enjoy a meal or drink together. My return would need to be purposeful.

The food is good and the staff responsive. My favorites are the egg rolls with pimento cheese and collard greens and the spinach salad with sliced strawberries, goat cheese, red onions, cucumbers and candied pecans My husband enjoys the shrimp wrap. Nice laid back atmosphere and outdoor seating.

Great deep-discount specials here, which appear to be subsidized by the normal-menu prices. A pretty basic clean bar & grill in a decent outdoor shopping center with a nice selection of above-average food. We were confused by the 2 bartenders who were both serving us, seemingly without coordinating much. I suggest a smaller party (4 or less), off-hours, and going on a Tuesday ($5 burgers that are normally $12.50) or Wednesday (bottles of wine half off). There might be other day specials too. Enjoy!

I was not overly impressed. We went on a Tuesady night, which was apparently their $5.00 burger night, so they were somewhat busy. Not a problem. You can expect that at a restaurant close to a university. Obviously, they were more concerned with the burger crowd. My meal came out fine, but it'stough to mess up a sandwich. My problem was my wife's order. She ordered the salmon well done. When it came to the table it was raw in the middle. The server could see there was an issue and took it back to the kitchen to re-cook and reiterated "well-done". When she brought it back it was still undercooked and mostly raw. Pluses and minuses here. PLUS: We advised the server and asked to have it removed from the bill since the kitchen was obviously missing something and when the bill came, her meal was removed. MINUS: Any restaurant worth it's salt would have, at the least, had a manager come out and apologize. But that didn't happen. In the end, I don't think I'll be going back.

The food is amazing! I've tried the salmon and also the grilled pork chop. The salmon was good, but the pork chop was out of this world! The chop was perfectly prepared and was flavorful and juicy. It comes with a gravy that makes you want to pour it on everything! I'm not much of an adventurer so I get the same sides every time: collard greens and macaroni and cheese. The mac and cheese is very very good! My husband gets their cheese grits and that's very good as well. Pretty much everything we've had here has been awesome.

We had Sunday Brunch. We all enjoyed our meals. Our server was nice. They seemed to be behind on preparing for the day. We were the first customers. Get there early and make reservations if you plan to go. They were packed by 11:00 AM. There is outdoor seating and perfect for nice mornings.

I got the featured steak frites meal and it tasted amazing. No complaints about the quality of the food. The atmosphere was great too. The issues I had with this restaurant outweigh the good, unfortunately. The tables were really small. We had to struggle to make room for all of us. The portions for the food was inadequate and not worth the price. The appetizer we got was barely big enough to share with 2, let alone our table of 3 for the sum of 12 dollars that it cost. I asked for more truffle oil and was given a souffle cup with barely 5 drops of oil in it. My fries with the steak just tasted like regular barely salted fries. The creme de la crepe of the meal was the massive roach I noticed on the wall. I decided to be respectful since this happens and let them know subtly. Their response was to tell me they hated summers and dim the lights. Unacceptable. Will not return.

I did not enjoy my experience here. The service was poor and the food was edible but no that good. Waitress barely wanted to give us details on the menu items. One of the people in my party did not touch her main course because she did not like it. I could believe she was told she would still have to pay for it if she sent it back for an alternate choice. I did enjoy the music and the atmosphere was pretty, but service and taste is key. I will not be back!

Monday is half priced wine. That made my wife happy. Her and our daughter got 2 apps, chicken nachos and egg rolls, which they loved. I got the ultimate Philly. It was not bad at all. Service was slow due to no one told our server we were there.

The service here was awful. We waited an hour for our food while other parties that came in after us had already eaten and left. When it finally came out the food was cold. A couple of people in my party sent their plates back to be warmed. I didn’t because although mine was cold, it wasn’t bad enough send back. It took another 30 minutes for the plates sent back to come out. The manager spoke to us several times and was super condescending and rude. He offered free meals but only to those in our party who sent back their food. When we mentioned that we were still waiting and hour and food was cold, he offered half off. The manager wasn’t genuine and didn’t really seem to care that our food was an hour late. On top of all of this, he still charged everyone for coffee and reminded us to tip the waiter?? Bottom line: this place is bonkers and the manager is awful. Would never recommend.

This gastropub hangout for NC State students, Cameron Park residents and curious visitors alike always hits the mark. The food is usually on fleek and after making it to tonight's $5 burger and fries night (Tuesdays) I feel like I literally committed a theft. Too damn good for a few bucks. Beer list is solid and the cocktail list is both clever and smart. The dark wood bar and panelling combined with the throwback black and white photos of "old Raleigh" just add to the experience. Eddie behind the bar is one swell guy and consider yourself privileged if he smiles your way. G (Owner) is a smart restaurateur. I highly recommend.

Another bad experience don't know why I keep going back and giving it a shot. I live in Cameron Village for many years and periodically go in. This experience was the last shot and will never go back. The bartender first was not very attentive as it took like 5 minutes to acknowledge me and helped people that sat down after me first. He didn't check on me not one time and I had to ask the other bartender who was very attentive and awesome to please check on my order. Come to find out the guy server didn't even put my order in. The server needs more training or something not sure he knows what he is doing. The food has always been just okay and been other instances with quality of food like others have spoken about. Try Village Draft House their burgers are great and the bartenders are attentive even during major sport games

Cameron Bar & Grill is a gem of a find for me and my husband! It’s a place we can go after work or after a round of golf. A very good atmosphere with a killer bar-tending team! Charlie and Diana are wonderful. Learning our names the first time we stopped in and never forgetting. What a great feeling! If you haven't been, you're missing out!

The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The food is always good without doubt. This place has three kinda four areas, one outside with a nice lighting and very confortable for small groups (4 max) and two inside which are inside dining and next to it separated by a wall the bar area, you can have a very nice casual dinner with friends and family here or go to the bar area and watch the game while eating and drinking. The prices are very good and you can find the 5 dollar burger and fries combo on Tuesdays!!! Which is the best deal you can find based on the quality of the food, the staff and the place your are in.

OMG! This restaurant is amazing! It does not look like anything special on the outside, but it is well worth a visit. The atmosphere is a bit nostalgic with black and white prints on the walls. The menu is quite unique, boasting items featuring ingredients such as red pepper, fried green tomatoes. I had the Chicago Burger. It has to have been the best burger I have had in years. It was char-grilled to perfection. Their fried pickles were very good too, especially when paired with the Chipotle ranch dressing they come with. Finally, they are a bar too and have a good selection of ciders that are very tasty. I tried several...but settled on a pear cider that was delicious. Up until this point, I have not mentioned my server, Kimberly. I saved the best for last. She was very attentive to my dining needs. She realized very quickly that I had not experienced the restaurant before and gave me noting but fantastic recommendations. She was very patient and friendly. She definitely added to the overall positive experience I had at this restaurant. I don't live in the area. If I did, Cameron Bar & Grill would be one of my regular go-to places. I highly recommend giving them a try.

We were going to eat at Flying Biscuit nextdoor where the line was so long, then we saw there was no wait here so we gave it a shot for brunch. Everything on my plate tasted like I could have gotten it on a free hotel breakfast buffet. My eggs and sweet tea were definitely instant. The biscuits and gravy were okay but nothing to write home about. I should have known when it came to the table literally 3 minutes after we ordered it. I've waited longer for a Big Mac.

We went in a Sunday night. Nothing spectacular here, nor was it really bad. Service was friendly, space was roomy. But the food was really just average "bar food". I had a ceasar with wilted lettuce, and grilled shrimp that were tough and overcooked. We had a pimento cheese appetizer that seemed bland, and my wife's burger looked average. The kids had Mac and cheese that was soupy, but at least their fruit looked fresh and was sizeable. With many other better options in Raleigh, and with a prime location, I was really expecting better.

Today was a great day to sit outside and enjoy lunch with my Office Manager. We chose this spot because the egg rolls (stuffed with cabbage and ham hocks) are simply wonderful. It's restaurant week and we decide to do the 3 course menu. Eveywas great until we got dessert. It was freezer burn and the ice cream was like milk. Overall, I had a great experience.

Went in for brunch. The location is super nice, and first impression are great. However, most of the food we ordered was subpar at best, my eggs were cold, and three of our orders were wrong. When we brought it up, the waiter just stated that he heard us order another item ( that doesnt sound simular at all) and didnt offer to get us the right order. The burger however, had rave reviews. Good thing the mimosas were strong!

Restaurant needs to close and do a makeover, tired and worn out. Seats are torn, bathroom is tired, floors are sticky , the place is running on fumes. Compare the food here vs. Tazza Kitchen around the corner no comparison nor the crowd.

Wish I could do no stars. This place has gone so far downhill, I won't even consider going there. Went a month or so ago for a salad - they were OUT OF LETTUCE. Went last night for burger night. Burger was RAW. I couldn't even send it back because the server was so inattentive, I couldn't get his attention. They left off the cheese and bacon, I had to get my own water refill, I had to ask twice for ketchup. An all around terrible experience.

In my opinion this place isn't super great. The food is maybe 1 step up from the bar food around the corner at the draft house. Last night i had nachos with jalapenos on top. The jalapenos were pickled and frozen. The pickling process exists because you cant freeze things. Why not try fresh jalapenos? Fresh food is much better. With so many options in Raleigh these days, you should consider a few other gems in the area.

Very mediocre brunch. I got a veggie omelette and asked if the mushrooms were fresh, not the small ones in juice. I was told they were, but they were not fresh. Waffle was way too sweet and a little soggy. Just okay, probably wouldn’t go back by choice.

Training people should be Mgt's first priority. Sending untrained people out to provide customer care w/o knowledge of your food, drinks, menu options is probably not going to ensue the best experience. Overall, lunch was good.

Favorite place in Town. The management and the wait staff are all top notch; very friendly and attentive. The bar is always well stocked with interesting beers from around the state and the daily food and drink specials cannot be beat. More importantly, weekend brunch is amazing. My wife and I always laugh at the people waiting in line for 45 min to eat breakfast at FB when, in my opinion, one of the best places in town for brunch is literally right next door. Great restaurant, give them a shot, you will become a regular.

I went on a Tuesday- $5 buck specialty burger night! I was with a very large group of people, so a few orders were jumbled and my medium burger was well done, but that's forgivable in my opinion. The burgers were really good! There are a number of tasty creations to choose from (as well as build your own). Mine, the Charleston, came with goat cheese and fried green tomato in addition to the normal pickles lettuce and tomato. An extra perk- they have gluten free buns. I enjoyed it to the max!! The bun tasted great and looked tastier than the normal ones, but I can't say. They didn't skimp on portions. The meat wasn't too fatty or dry.. I don't eat much of the stuff, but I felt the red meat was a good quality. Fries!! I may go back for the fries alone. They are your atypical waffle variety, not too crunchy, not too soggy. Plain good potato. They do offer sweet potato fries, but I'd encourage you to try the regular ones too! There was a special of $3 craft cans of beer. Can't say if this is normally or just Tuesdays, but it was a deal. A decent selection too. I found a white thai from a brewery in SC , which I haven't found anywhere else around here. No comment on other foods on the menu. It all read well off the menu at least. The beet kale salad caught my attention. Next time The ambiance is relaxed and a little proper/cool (a lot of black, white and wood), but no need to be dressy. They have a sweet covered patio as well. The waitress was attentive and worked her butt off for our large party. The service was an acceptable speed. I'll be going back.

Couldn't get into Flying Biscuit so tried this place. The table was dirty and sticky, there was a vinegar taste to my poached eggs, grits weren't very cheesy, biscuits and gravy were cold. Service was attentive so I tipped normally but I won't be back.

New menu not good. I used to be a big fan of this place. The old menu was top notch. Everything was delicious! Since it has been under new ownership it has gone downhill quickly. The new menu didn't bring back any of the old things that were great about The Cameron. Brunch, Lunch and Dinner all included. Some of the new options aren't bad, but the portion size is much smaller than it used to be. No longer a place for someone with a decent sized appetite. The service is also not up to par with what it used to be. I'm disappointed how it has gone downhill. Bring back the old menu items!

It is important to recognize exceptional management in such a unique restaurant. Eddy Schuler has it "going on " with his staff as well as welcoming all customers. I drive 40 minutes to get this type of service and food with the great flair of seeing people enjoying themselves. I never experience a abnormal delay when enjoying the Cameron Bar and Grill at peak hours. As a graduate of the CIA in Hyde Park, NY I am is familiar with what it takes to serve 200-300 people with enthusiasm and class. Eddy is a "class act"!

Met up with one of my social groups here right after Thanksgiving. The staff helped slide tables together, and were very helpful. Our food was delicious, and they didn't have any problems with the checks. Can't ask for better than that. Great place to meet friends and hang out.

First time in Raleigh. Went here for dinner and drinks on a friends recommendation. I was a little disappointed in one local craft beer selection, Old Chub. The menu states it is from the Oskar Blues Brewing Co in Brevard, NC. The can states it is brewed and canned in Longwood, CO. That’s a far cry from local in NC. However, the star taken away is because of the menu stating it’s local. The food and drink menu is quite reasonably priced. Good atmosphere. Nice parking out front. Outdoor seating in front is covered with a lighted awning. The servers are friendly and take time to chat with you.
