I thoroughly enjoyed my burger as did my mom and toddler. Everything was homemade, including most the condiments. Their homemade fried pickle chips were the best! The beer mustard is awesome! Unfortunately, I was not able to enjoy a beer so I can't speak on that but, the food was amazing. Highly recommend.

Very fun place. We got two burgers, one with blue cheese and bacon, the other with cheddar and caramelized onions. One with the duck fries, one with regular. Burgers were great, cooked as ordered, big, juicy. Regular fries were great. Duck fries could have been more impressive. They were fine, thinner, crunchier. In house soda was really good too. They have their beer making stuff set up so you can see it through the glass next door, and they have a lot of fun things on their walls. Its a really nice burger place, especially for large groups.

The Orange Vanilla Golden Ale is amazing, super smooth. Service was fast but there was no one in here so I cant say how it would be if it was busy. The bar tender was cool and polite. The burger was out of this world, the "over easy" was ridiculously good. Definitely gonna come back.

Best burgers in Durham NC! Fabulous service, amazing food, and great atmosphere. Bryant Bridge Golden Ale is a signature beer on tap and pairs well with anything. Start with the fried pickles or the chefs special pickled veggie plate. Everything here is scratch made. If you are in Durham for a visit this place needs to be on your list. Cheers!

I was craving a burger today. I admit that I headed to Only Burger first but they were closed as a result of a power outage. I think I read an article online about this place for their tarantula burger if I'm not mistaken. I ordered the daily special burger (BCBB) less the goat cheese and an order of dirty fries. The burger and fries were ok. I would come back and try another burger on the menu. But I did spend about $20 for the burger, fries and tap water with a small tip included. Seems a bit pricey.

Fabulous!!! First visit and atmosphere was very welcoming and sanitation was superb. Make sure you order the Pimento and Kale Cheese Dip...OMG!!!!!!!!! Best veggie burger I’ve ever had. My daughter is college student in the are so we will definitely revisit often.....

First lemme start with... We have been to this restaurant on multiple occasions.. the first two times were great.. great morale, great food, great beer and y'all had ranch. This last time however, between the bitterness of the employees, the lack of ranch, the beggars in the dining room, the burgers we're cold, and the fries were overcooked.. I don't think it's worth the trip back to this establishment.

Burgers have always been good or great especially the burger of the day. Beer is good and they usually have a decent selection of their in house brewed beer. We go pretty often especially on the weekends. The outside seating is much bigger than you'd expect. Although all the seating tends to fill up fast we've actually never had to wait for a table oddly enough.

FANTASTIC. We were out of town and looking for a place to put our feet up, snack and read our book. We sat at the bar and service was spectacular. Our bartender was very informative about the mission of the restaurant and had plenty of good suggestions, offered samples of beers and left us along while reading. Perfect service, good food, delicious beer (and we're picky). Thank you, we'll drop in again when we're in town. Great job.

Another self service take a number restaurant that scatters the area. For full service you can choose bar seating. The hotdogs were quite good but a little bit on the pricey side. I didn't really care for the chilli on the dog (personal preference). My daughter really enjoyed her sweet potato fries. Bartender was good natured and professional. Had some trouble getting my check but that was due to shift change.

Stellar experience. The burgers are fresh and the sweet tea is all that you could ever wish for in a tea. Great atmosphere. The order identification cards all have dates and important historical NC events and figures on them which I found especially cool and interesting. This is a local burger and brewery unlike any other. Highly recommend this place and will definitely come again soon.

Great place... The ingredients are great, good layer of flavors and the sweet potato fries were just outstanding. Only reason for not having 5 stars was that the bun to the burger was a bit dry. I'd gladly go back as I bet the dry bun will just come down to an unlucky day. *Edit - Changed to 5 Star due to the great service. They reached out and offered to remake the burger for free. I will not be in the area for a while, but that level of customer appreciation says a lot! Thank you Bull City!

I took my family there last night. I have had lunch there once previously and it was great. Last night was a disappointment. I like beef rare. IMO rare beef is the gold standard. It must be fresh, it must be top quality. In anyone's book, a $10.50 burger must be all that and cooked to perfection. We ordered two rare and one medium rare Bacon Blue Burgers. There was some confusion with the server as to which was which when they came out. The server sorted that out with a consult from the kitchen. 2 burgers were barely pink, one was pink -- barely pink being traditionally medium (my rule of thumb, temp in the kitchen being definitive). I didn't send them back, since we had friends in the restaurant, and members of my family are easily embarrassed, so I choked it down. I don't know if cook goofed and wanted to cover it up by claiming they were done correctly to the server, or they don't know what they are doing anymore, or the beef quality is no longer up to the standards for rare. So two visits, one good, one bad. I may go back. If I do, I'll update this. For now, I remain skeptical of Bull City. If you like your burgers "medium", you may like this place.

The beer is fine but nothing to write home about and definitely not the best in town. I had a very dry veggie burger and the acoustics are such that it tends to be pretty loud in there. Service was quick and employees were nice. Fine for a quick, casual beer but there are better places in the vicinity. I probably won't be back.

Definitely enjoyed our dinner tonight we both had made to order hamburgers with sweet potato fries and a side of chili. Everything was very delicious and the beers are very tasty as well. Definitely a place we will come back to nothing but fresh and tasty food

Glad to have tried this place! Wonderful atmosphere, and the burgers are fantastic! I chose to build my own burger, and the selection of condiments/toppings are more than adequate! I love the fact that I can get my burger cooked to my liking, in my case, rare. I tried the duck fries, and they tasted good, however I will order the dirty fries from now on. The duck fries are just too thin, so it's like eating fried onion straws (without the onion flavor). They would have made a nice addition to the burger, giving it a awesome crunch! The service was great, and our food came out fast. I will be back!!

Seemed like a cool place. A lot of people were getting their burgers, so I assume it is good, it certainly smelled and looked tasty! The bartender was nice and helpful in finding us a beer that we enjoyed. If I had more time, I would come back and try other beers, foods and hopefully take a tour!

Really great food and service, my friend and i walked in and looked a little confused and not sure how to order and one of the employees noticed that and took the time to say hi and welcome us and explain where the menus we're, how to order and get our food. Very impressed with the awareness of customer service, all of the staff were friendly and the food was great, best burger I've had in a restaurant . Would deff recommend!

So, before you go, know this is an order at the counter, bring your number to the table, food brought out to the table type place. For some reason, I did not gather that from the website. However, I still give 5 stars because the food was delicious. My burger was cooked perfectly (med to my liking) and I love that you can pick all your toppings. The pimento cheese and kale dip was heavenly. I ate it as a dip then lathered it on my burger. Beers were good. They're a little off the mainstream, but I appreciate where they are going with them. We will aim to visit again.

I am not sure where to even begin with how horrible this place is. So, let's start from the beginning. We were visiting family from out of state and decided to try this place. We walk in and proceed to follow the signs telling us to order at the register (makes sense). Except that we stand there at the ordering location and get completely ignored. Then an employee says go order at the bar. That's the only place you can order food. So we proceed to the bar, no employee in sight for 15 minutes. Also, an uncomfortable, and distasteful place to be standing with my three children. We order and sit down. My parents order, pay and sit down. We found it odd that we weren't given a bill, but I'll get back to that later. Food comes out and virtually everything was wrong. We dealt with it, with the exception of my son that received a very burnt burger. He requested it be remade. He didn't get his corrected item for another 25 minutes. The fries were mushy and we weren't sure whether to refill our own drinks or if the "server" did it. Since he was so incredibly rude and unhelpful, we surely didn't want to burden him. So, we finish this disgusting meal and walk up to the bar saying we'd like to pay our bill. The same server that's helped us from the beginning says "you're all set", "it's all taken care of". Thinking this was his kind way of comping our meals for the nasty food, wrong items, and poor service we thanked him and began leaving. As we get down the block he chases us down and apologizes and said he miscommunicated with the bartender and tells us to return to the bar and pay. Feeling terribly embarrassed as everyone was no starring at us as if we are thieves we wait and pay. The check says $68.11. I handed him my card and get the receipt back to sign. Except now it has an extra, unexplained $4 added on. No explanation. Having been fraudulently charged a mystery fee I knew to write the original amount and sign the receipt. Sorry bud, you aren't stealing money from me too. I took pictures of everything and intend to file a police report and dispute with my bank if needed. I am so disappointed in this place.

I am missing the hype of this place. I ordered a some-pink burger, and it was pink all the way through. The first bite I had was filled with grease. It took 2 napkins saturated with grease before I even thought I could eat it. The duck fries tasted ok, but they were crisp like potato sticks. I would not even refer to them as a skinny fry. They were like 3x skinnier than a McDonald's fry. Of course parking is a pain because it is downtown, so that was expected. I am giving it a 3-star because the bacon marmalade was pretty good. Also, the top part of the bun that wasn't saturated with grease was good, along with the pickles and water to drink. I would not return for that though.

Second time going. Burgers are delicious. Fries are spot on; nice and salty. Seating is a little different using long tables with a mix of benches and chairs. You may end up sitting elbow-to-elbow with a stranger, just fyi. Great place.

The duck fries are delicious and the house made sauces and sodas and beer are delicious! The burgers available include gluten free and vegan options!!! The staff are really nice and they have cool merchandise. Great for kicking it back with the boys!

Came here with a few friends for dinner and have never been so disappointed in the service we received. Two of our friends have severe food allergies (dairy and gluten). When they forgot to provide a gluten free bun, they asked her if her allergy was "serious or if they could just switch the buns," which would allow for cross contamination. My other friend was provided a burger with a dairy-based sauce (that he did not ask for) and was told that the bun had dairy in it as well. They told him to to just scrape off the dairy-based sauce and to eat the plain burger patty with a knife and fork. Again, both of these allergies are SEVERE. Besides that, all of us had missing ingredients from our burgers that we paid for. My friend ordered a hot dog and was served mushy ring bologna instead (not a hot dog). Overall, the food was extremely subpar, the service was horrible (rude and unfriendly), and certainly not worth the price. I'd recommend just going to any other fast food restaurant, you'll get better service and better food.

What a great place for locally brewed beer. Amazing service and an outdoor seating area with great ambiance. You can even bring your dog with you. This is one of Durhams treasures one I come to time and time again. The menu is outstanding and changes up with daily specials.

It was a battle to get a parking space, but after a little parallel parking, we scored a spot right in front of the restaurant.

BCBB is a great place to try new fare. Unfortunately, they put up signs forbidding customers from carrying firearms (even concealed with permits) which made me feel less safe. Other local businesses that have put up these signs have been robbed after doing so, so I don't feel as comfortable there as I do in other restaurants that allow CCH and off-duty police to carry for protection (downtown Durham has a fair share of crime, after all). Otherwise, I'd have given the place 5 stars!

Not only does this place have good food, great service and is very family friendly but they also have a fantastic selection of their brewed beer. I gave 5 stars because they had an "ordinary bitter". You never see this style in the USA. It was brilliant and reminded me of drinking in my local back in the UK. If only this place was my local!
