Food was great and came out fast,Always is. Staff was awesome. One of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte! Thank you

Maiah Dixon

The food is great. And the staff is very fast and friendly. I would say they could spend a little time cleaning. It's not dirty from a health inspectuon perspective. But the corners need a little dusting. Overall a great place to go.

What a lovely dinner for two. Overall, the food was delicious and the portions were generous. Food: delicious and large portion!! We ordered Japchae (stir fried glass noodles with beef) and a small order of chicken strips (10 pieces). I had the chicken wings here before and those were tiny portion. However, the strips size was actually bigger than we thought so that was a nice surprise. We both came out stuffed! Service: Jodi was our waitress and she was amazing and attentive. The food didn't take long at all to come out. Cost: To top it all off, the price was reasonable. The total was $27.50 for that much delicious food. Needless to say, we loved it!

Lucas Green

Food was okay but not the best. And something made me sick. I can't be POSITIVE if it was the food or something that happened before I got there but it definitely ruined the experience. And I wasn't feeling sick before I started eating. So I don't know. And the bathroom was really gross.

Lilian

I didn’t know what Korean Fried Chicken was until this place. My aunt and I found this beautiful gem years ago. They’re always friendly and get our orders correct. The food always comes out hot and ready to be eaten. I love how the chicken is ALWAYS crispy and flavored just right. Might have to stop by soon. It’s been a little while.

willis woodberry

Well, I wanted to love it since I am a fried chicken connoisseur. But, from the point in which I walked in the door to rushing to my car to partake in some of the sweet crunch wings and fries. Disappointed and unimpressed were my immediate feelings..It was definitely not worth the money or time I spent traveling there...

Nathaniel Jennings

Great food, great price on the lunch specials, great service! I will be eating and taking friends here many times in the future!

James Conder

Food was awesome. Very surprised. Upset I didn’t know about this earlier. Try the soy chicken strips. And the bulgogi.

Ms. Rose

Great food and service! Love the Soy Garlic wings and shrimp shumai

Nicole M

These wings are addictive and then you eat from other parts of the menu, you are trapped! The pork buns are super noms.

I love Bonchon. This is some of my favorite fried chicken in the city. I've come here many times and never been disappointed. I find it hard to stray from the fried chicken because it's so good. I always get the strips. They are super crispy and delicious. The seasoned fries are also amazing. I always get the soy garlic chicken strips. I've sampled the spicy before but they are way too hot for me. They also let you do half and half which is great for splitting. Their lunch special is $9 for 8 strips and a side. It's a great deal with a ton of food. I can never finish it all. The service has been a little hit or miss, but it seems to have gotten a lot better recently compared to when they first opened.

I loved this place in NY and needless to say when I heard Charlotte was getting one I was pretty excited. We went on opening night and the service was terrible. One hour twenty minutes after ordering and no food. During that 80 minutes or so we had to ask to speak to the manager three times and only on the third request did they come. At that point we gave up and cancelled our order. I can't attest for their food, though I'm sure its great but their service is terrible. Not even an apology for a wasted evening from the manager. Real shame. That all said I'll give it another go and update accordingly as I'm sure, if its anything like the NY one, the food will be good.

Jeff Adams

Awesome food I crave it the Korean spicy chicken fingers are out of this world

The restaurant looks hip and modern for the crowd. The staff here is polite but could be a little more attentive when it comes to the customer's needs. But the real reason for coming here is to find some good Korean fried chicken. As a Korean when I hear that we are having fried chicken I'd expect the small bite size pieces smothered in sauce. I saw the large pieces of chicken I was thinking "let's try a new take on a Korean classic" the chicken was double fried so the meat was tender and juicy while the crispy exterior was crunchy and extremely satisfying. The sauces was very light and sometimes I couldn't really taste it. The Korean pickled radishes were great though. Light, crispy, and refreshing sour taste complimented the sweet and spicy chicken. The fries were great because just like the chicken the exterior was very crisp while the interior was soft and delicious. My overall experience of the place is that Bon Chon is a great place for above average and non traditional Korean fried chicken. I wish I could give this place a 3.5 but 3 stars is average and it was average to me. Try this place out and make your own decisions about the food because I can't really tell you.

Moe B

The best house rice and garlic chicken I have had in a very long time.

Lismary Martinez

Food is always prompt and amazing

This is my first time eating from here . I heard so many good things about Korean BBQ Chicken/Korean chicken and I saw so many good reviews I decided to try this place out. I didn’t eat inside, I just got it to go, I ordered the 10 wings in the flavor soy garlic and it wasn’t my favorite flavor. I heard a lot of good things from the soy garlic flavor but it wasn’t it for me. It’s not horrible, but I would definitely not get that flavor again.. it has this “acquire” taste and smell to it that I can’t get pass. Other than the flavor , the over all chicken quality was so good. The chicken wings came hot, crunchy to prefection , golden and glossy. Very tasty. I give it a 4 out of 5. The chicken was good but the flavor I picked , soy garlic, I’m not a huge fan of. It’s a personal problem and not the restaurant fault lol. Next time , I’ll try a different flavor! I also got their fries and I love their fries!

Absolutely the most all around delectable fried chicken I have ever eaten in my life and I've eaten David Chang's and Passard's among others. Let's start with the texture and preparation because this is where the magic starts. I opted for the boneless version, which was pounded thin into perfect three-or-four-bite portions and then lightly fried to that exact hue of iconic golden brown you've always pictured in your mind. The result is an utterly amazing crackle that is downright gratifying. There's a lovely paradox here though that is difficult to find in fried food regardless of where it's served - while the crunch is just as crispy as a pork rind or potato chip - lasting threw several chews - everything else about this bite is light and dare I even say airy, yet still wonderfully hardy and brilliantly tasty. That is no small feat and even some of the best chefs around can struggle to produce a similar result. To sum up the texture in two words: freakishly satisfying. Moving into flavor, not only will you not be disappointed, you will probably want to run home and smack your mama with a wet noodle because even the most matronly southern matriarch can't fry chicken like this. I know what you're thinking but somehow, the BonChon geniuses found a way to maintain that aforementioned glorious crackly texture while packing an other-worldly amount of flavor into each piece as well. This is no small feat considering that they do not slather the crust with sauce. Your fingers will get sticky for sure, but far from wet. It's almost as if they've imparted the batter itself with their soy garlic or spicy sauce (try them both, thank me later) and then just spritzed each piece with a little more right out of the fryer. And of course, both sauces hit your palette just as you'd expect when you think of Korean flavor. The soy garlic is a masterful umami blend of sweet and salty, and the spicy has the absolute right amount of heat to make your nostrils twinge but not overpower the underlying goodness of that classic Korean taste. Dipping sauce? I couldn't tell you because I was enjoying each piece so much in its plain state that I forget it was even there! Finally, I know you're wondering, so let's talk turkey, errrr I mean chicken. Here's where stuff gets real, people, this is where after you've taken just one bite you stand up and scream, "This chicken too lit!", because by what I can only guess is some form of Harry Potter culinary wizardry, it manages to drip with so much juiciness that I'm not sure Biggie Smalls himself didn't have it to eat before he wrote his iconic song. "It was all a dream, I used to eat BonChon and read WordUp magazine." I mean really, the meat is seasoned just right and no doubt marinated with a magical potion of flavor madness because it offers an immaculate counterbalance to that crispity, crunchity exterior that somehow manages to crackle aces in your mouth over and over again. In fact, while I'd feel terribly sorry for you if you were one of those healthnuts who removed that deliciously fried exterior because you were worried about calories or whatever, you would still have yourself a downright scrumptious piece of chicken even without it. Doing so would be blasphemous however, so please check yourself before you wreck yourself. To wrap this up, the bottom line here is that you'll be very hard pressed to find a more enticing single bite of food anywhere, whether it's at a Michelin three star chef's table, that small town diner where pops has been cooking southern favorites for fifty years, or, yes, even in your own mother's kitchen. I may plan a trip to Seoul or Pyongyang to hangout with my boy Kim, just to see if I can prove myself wrong and I'd challenge you to do the same but even then I doubt we'll have much luck. So, do yourself a favor and save your airline miles, and go checkout BonChon because if I had to reduce this whole review in all its glory down to a single word, it would simply be: perfection.

Esther Riddick

amazing bibimbap and garlic fries. service was great, everyone was nice and our waitress was awesome.

Lamont Bracey

Enjoyed our first experience with Bonchin. Ordered the fried rice with spicy wings and spicy pot stickers. Very spicy but really enjoyed both entrees. The cole slaw balanced some of heat from the entrees. Would prefer the wings fried a bit harder. If we return we'd just request it when we order. Overall very pleasant first experience. Would recommend.

Nicole Gaiter

Great food and service!!

Danny McDowell

Enjoyed the food especially the spicy wings they were sweet and spicy. Went with my family from church and it was great service was good no complaints here would definitely go again

Rachael Benham

Food was great, & for the quality of the meat, which was very good, the prices were really reasonable!! I really enjoyed the food...sweet tea was not very good, but the food was so awesome it didn't even matter!! They were also VERY careful when serving our table to not put anything in the reach of my baby...which was just very thoughtful & considerate!!

Ginger Spice

Like their slogan says, you WILL be addicted after only the first time! Fabulous! ...but very spicy, as a warning for those with sensitivity to hot peppers.

Nikki Henchen

Not the best service, the Korean fried chicken was really dry, and the Bibimbap had zero flavor. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the dumplings were delicious.

Jr Duran

We have been going to BonChon for years every time we are in NYC, and was excited to find this one here in Charlotte. I do got to admit the wings were delicious, perfectly crisp, and sauces just right. If we were rating just the food taste and quality I would say 4-5, but since we are rating the whole experience, due mediocre service I have to downgrade to 3. So the good bar specials, great wings, and fries are expected.

Colby Paradiso

Delicious crunchy fried chicken. They come lightly glazed with a really delicious sauce.

James Williams

We ordered takeout and it was delivered promptly. We couldn't eat all of it and it made for another meal, the next day. Very delicious food. I want to eat here in person, next time. The pork dumplings(or whatever they're called) we're creeping HOT. Loved it.

Lea Kami

That chicken! I can't wait till I ry more of the menu. So far so good. I'm a fan.

George Montgomery Jr

Ordered to go and the food was just not prepared well. Potstickers were dry and had almost no sauce. And the chicken in my main dish was so thin you could barely tell it was actually chicken. There was almost no sauce on the chicken and paired with the dry plain white rice it was a complete waste of $$$.

Malory Belcher

The service was excellent. Our server was attentive and helpful. The food came out very quickly. We thought the flavor was good. We did half and half on the chicken strips platter both were tasty. We'll definitely be back soon.

Lee Hall Jr.

Outstanding! I was advised of the difference that it makes a to-go order vs eating there. Their food is a MUST to be eaten hot, in order to enjoy the full texture of the food.

ANGEL BABY

First time there, the chicken strips with the sauce that was garlic and I think ginger was really good!!!!

weirdfly ty

OK so I finally came to this place Recommended by a co-worker so the food is good the chicken has a lot of favor. Nice size chicken drums and wings. The inside of the place was a little run down so I took my food to go.

Virginia Bailey

Surprisingly good mango and peach margaritas.

S Lautzenhiser

Great food, but somehow I think the food tastes better at their other location. Hard to find if you aren't familiar with the shopping center. Also, the cashier charged my card as credit I'm assuming because the charge took over a week to show up in my account.

Mr. Darryl

I enjoyed my visit to Bonchon-Woodlawn. We had great service from our waitress. My wife loved their chicken fried rice. The wings were good but they were a bit crispier than normal but flavorful.

Chelsa Parker

still raving about their fried chicken!

Shanae G

Totallyyy bomb! Had the spicy wings with white rice...amazing!! Service was good - although nothing spectacular. Went on a Sunday so it was fairly empty (no crazy wait time or over-worked host). I do plan on returning! Craving those wings rn!!

Jim Stephan

Phenomenal fried chicken! Reasonable prices and great service.

Jim Cusson

Amazing fried drums.

Anthony Cunnings

Love BonChon chicken! Definitely go for the spicy chicken and potstickers.

Karla Schilling

Great food

Doodle Smoochez

Loved the food. Great environment and nice and helpful staff.

Juliana Ribeiro

It took 20 minutes to come take our order. We waited for more than 30 minutes for the fried chicken that never came (they brought the check and the chicken was not even on the order) and there was a mouse jumping around our table during dinner (real mouse!). Management did nothing, said that the chicken takes a long time to get ready “because it is fried 2 times” (no, it was not even on our order, they never even ordered he chicken) and gave a ridiculous discount (8% or something like that!) Worst experience ever.

Benjamin Brown

LOVVVVVVVE THIS PLACE

Frenchi' J.

Very best chicken I've EVER tasted in my life! The location is beautiful! If I could eat here every single day & try EVERYTHING on the menu one by one...I would!

Kim Jackson

OMG, I TRAVELED SOOOOO FAR FROM SPARTANBURG SC TO ORDER THE LARGE CHICKEN, WHEN I GOT THERE NO ONE GREETED ME, EVERYONE WAS TENDING TO THE DINE IN CUSTOMERS!!!! AFTER STANDING THERE FOR 7 MINUTES I ORDERED THE DRUMSTICKS( LARGE YOU ARE TALKING 32.00). IT TOOK A ENTIRE HOUR TO GET MY FOOD TO GO. NO ONE CHECKED ON ME WHILE I WAITED, NO ONE, I WAS SOOOO HURT/ DISAPPOINTED, I WAS GETTING THIS CHICKEN FOR OUR FAMILY, MY HUSBAND WAS GETTING READY TO GO BACK OVER AND I WANTED TO GET HIM THIS SURPRISE MEAL, IT WAS A DISASTER!!!! I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS EXPERIENCE, NO 1 APOLOGY!!! NOT TO MENTION ALL THE MONEY I SPENT!!!! VERY HURT AND DISAPPOINTED!!!

Cong Vu

Salmon ball, calamari, fried rice, takoyaki and the fried chicken wings were all fantastic. I wish we have a place like this in New Orleans.

Ncv Ncv

Service was awful but we like the food.

Robyn Rode

So disappointing. The pork belly was so tough I couldn’t bite through it. I couldn’t even cut through it with a knife. The Bibimbap had zero flavor. Literally just steamed rice with completely dry vegetables. I love Korean food, but this was less than stellar

Yeison Osorio

Great Korean style fried chicken. Want fried chicken, this is your place.

Mike Boney

I was so excited to try this place out! I saw it one day and didn't know what it was so I did what we all do in these situations, I Googled it. After learning about it I knew that I must try it. I went with a couple work buds and man that ish was good!! Literally the crispiest wings in the world!! I chose the spicy garlic flavor. We also shared some edamame which was good. My friend ordered something called Bibimbap and it came with this sauce. It was red and similar to a sriracha but ki da fermented. I dipped my wings in there and holy f#$@k it was good. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try.

ER

Food was OK - nothing exceptional. Overpriced. Waiter brought our food AND the bill at the same time and asked if we could pay before we had even eaten - he said he needed to leave! What? I gave him my card and he brought the check while we were eating and stood there waiting on us to stop eating and sign the check. He said he had to go. He stood over me watching to see what tip I entered. I should have entered ZERO but I didn't. No further service after bill was paid. Eating hot spicy chicken and no drink refills. Will not go back.

Tim O'Donnell

Just ok

Rhett Michael

Great chicken and professional staff

THOMYKA ROUNDTREE

This Korean fried chicken is soooooo good....their side choices are left to be desired though

J S

I have suggestion for Bon Chon corporate management. Put a sign and inform every customer that "all menus are freshly made-to-order so please allow up to 30 minutes ".. or make customers call ahead to avoid wait.. why can't they do this..? they hundreds of locations around the world ..are they listening to their customers..? Also I honestly their overpriced for what it is...

Hannah Griffin

I have loved BonChon for many years after first going in Boston so I was so excited to have one in Charlotte. The food was great. The chicken was as amazing as I always remember. Unfortunately, our server was a big let down - was inattentive, didn't know anything about wine. We were sat outside and I had to get up and go inside to find someone to check on us after being left for a long time. I will be back but hopefully with a better service experience.

Queens Cook

The staff is not very friendly at all they never smile they just want you to hurry up and buy and get out my to-go order was also wrong they did give me a credit to come back another day and the coleslaw sucks the bong chong on Woodlawn is much better

timothy mathis

Wings are the bomb!

Julia Figueroa

Great wings

Lane Blundell

Great food, great service, quite a gem.

Emily Pham

I walked in for a to go order and was told that it should be 10 minutes, waited for 30 and no one bothered to check on the order. There weren't that many people in the restaurant so it shouldn't be that slow. Staff was only attentive to dine-in customers.

Sherry May

Bonchon is one of our favorite places for fried chicken with an Asian twist. While their food is always superb, the service at this location in particular is always lacking. Tonight's experience lost them another star as my hot tea was served in a styrofoam to go cup instead of a teapot and the edemame was forgotten until we were almost done with our meal. I was prepared to ask for it when I was going to ask for a teacup (which was just out of reach at the un-teneed bar) but our server was quite inattentive. Also, several of our dishes were chipped. Do better.

Josh Adams

I love the wings here.

Felicia Segovia

Love the Korean tacos!

Sunshyne Taylor

Love this place. Their chicken is so light and crispy.

Conor O'Neill

The interior is nothing to write home about, they have great wings.

Charles Parker

great fried chicken and sliders

The Frugal Guru

Hubby's co workers always raved about this place so we wanted to give it a try. I had ordered the pork buns with a side of fries, hubby ordered fried rice, and chicken wraps. The food was enough to feed a family of 5(3 small children+2 adult's). The service was on the slow side being that there were only 3 other tables excluding ours. Food was tasty, so I would come back!

Jacob Yang

Best pork buns!

Brandon Johnson

Korean fried chicken. I had the strips and kimchi. Both good. Will have spicy tacos next time.

Janna Venti

Got the bulgogi tacos and chicken combo. The tacos are bomb but wish there was more sauce on the chicken. Fast service too.

Mr. Hutch

The wing flavor is amazing! Spicy with flavor is the best combo, and non spicy for you non spicy lovers!

Em Em

Poor service. Food never came for me. Was excited a well known Korean chain was in Charlotte (after hearing about how great this place is in NYC) , but I won't be going back and will stick to local smaller places in CLT.

Michael Peck

I love this place but their wings are too spicy and they refuse to put it on the side so that you can dip it. As much as I love this place I will not be going back for a very long time because their inability to meet customers expectation of palatable food is unfortunately subpar. I'd like to eat your food but at the same time I'd like to feel my tongue and lips afterwards. Did I mention I eat Thai Chili Peppers with my eggs every morning and they are not nearly as spicy as a single bite of your wings. I don't know what sauce you're using but it would be really nice to have a way of having a less nuclear tasting one.

Patrick George

Good food and great service.

Charity Parker

BonChon is the best! The flavor and preparation of all of their food is superb. I highly recommend them!

David Jennings

Was told fried chicken was amazing. They were right. We will be going here everytime we go to Charlotte. If they ever decide to move down to South Carolina let me know...I'd love to be a part of this amazing restaurant.

Rio Rise

Food was ok service was good maybe the door should be fixed kinda hard to pull and push open but great place to be with family and friends

Patrick Cullen

Foods was great but they screwed up our order.

Arul selvan

I go here for their spicy fried chicken and shrimp fried rice.!!.

Keiri Guzman

My go to restaurant. I do like the customer service at their Pineville location a lot more but overall the food is amazing

Brittany Lynch

Their wings are crispy perfection!!! My husband loves the hot wings but they have a little too much heat for me. They're delicious and family friendly!

E Gaiter

Yummy

N. Rice

My friend and I were really excited to try this place. It definitely has potential but didn't really live up to our level of excitement. Our server was really nice and very attentive. We both ordered the Korean fried chicken. I ordered the small combo (wings & drumsticks), half spicy, half sweet crunch which came with a complimentary side of pickled radishes. I also ordered the seasoned fries. The fries arrived first. They were good, but they were moreso parmesan cheese fries than they were seasoned. The chicken arrived about 5 minutes later. It was visibly hot and the skin looked very crispy even though it was coated in sauce. I was told that the spicy chicken was extremely spicy so I took a bite of a spicy drumstick first, keeping my water nearby. I thought that maybe I misunderstood which flavor was which because it was very sweet with no heat, so I try what I thought was sweet crunch which was all crunch...no sweet. Under the skin the chicken itself was pretty bland and would have benefited greatly from a nice 24 hour brine or marinade. The pickled radishes were basic, white cubes in appearance but were pretty flavorful and the actual highlight of my meal. Overall I was pretty underwhelmed. So much so, I didn't bother to take any pictures. If I ever go back, I'll avoid the fried chicken all together and see how the more traditional Korean fare is...like the bulgogi or the japchae.

alison ponn

Reasonably priced big lunch. Great fried chicken

Michael Jessup

Seriously the best chicken wings I've ever had! Not saucey, and super crunchy. Get the spicy!

Nik Blach

Some of the best fried chicken. Oddly great chicken strip, fried the same way as the bone-in chicken.

Caity Medina

Great food, great service. Wings were amazing, so was the fried rice. Will definately be back soon

Jared Steigerwald

Food is great, but the building is somewhat sketchy and run down. They definitely need to do some remodeling, but if you grab it to go, you can’t beat the flavor and quality. Lunch is best time to go because they have a nice special and isn’t as pricey as dinner for the same meal.

Luis Rodriguez

Amazing. It's a flavor and texture to fried chicken you won't find anywhere else. This is a favorite date-night spot for my wife and me, on those rare occasions when we get out of the house. That should tell you how good it is.

Paquita Poindexter

Definitely some of the crunchier and most flavorful wings I've had in a long time. I got the wings to go and that crunch held up despite sitting in a to go box.

Lisa Lane

We switched tables twice due to water in the seats from condensation of the overhead air conditioner. The tea was bad, the coke was bad so we all had ended up with water. Our waitress was sweet but slow. The chicken app with both flavors was yummy, if a little dry. The fried rice was pretty good. Nothing lived up to the hype we've heard. This was on Woodlawn Rd., but I'll definitely try another location. Disappointed for the amount of money spent.

Tiara Ford

The seafood fried rice was one of the best I’ve had they just need more sauce options

Brian Sandoval

You have to try the soy Chicken and the pork buns. Their spicy is serious, and eat with caution. I had a rice bowl the last time I was there and it was amazing. Tried the fried octopus, and it was delicious. Worth it, and will definitely come back. Service is as great as their food.

James Sheorn

Though the wings are a little on the high side in terms of price, it is worth going to! I always found it strange whenever I came here, that there wasn't anyone here, but honestly I don't really care because more wings for me! I have taken many people here (friends, clients, etc.) and they have never disappointed!

Melissa Barker

This place was a one and done for me. The service was mediocre, the prices were high and they won't let you have a side of the soy garlic sauce. Don't ask for any customizations either. That seemed odd to me. I guess making customers satisfied is not a priority for this establishment. We were left without refills as well. It would be nice to have that money back, but at least I know where NOT to eat.

Chris Collins

Overrated as usual. Average at best. Would rather have chick fil A or PDQ for the money. Flattened completely chicken tenders have no life at all left in them. Paper thin. Who came up with this crappy idea. Kimchi, 2.95 for about 5 tablespoons worth. Typical corporate greed ruining this whole deal for me. Disappointing. Oh, and tenders werent even sauced liberally. Sauces, nothing greeat. I dont get all of the rave national reviews at all. Won’t be back.

Derek X. Johnson

Food was great, the atmosphere and the service was perfect. I'll be returning.

Timothy Pavone

Some of the best food I have had. Ordered 4 different things all amazing. Only done take out can't wait to check it out.

Claudette Danjoint

Food was ready when I got there, very good as usual.

Kate F.

I had the potstickers, kimchi, and japchae. They were all amazing, and we got the food quickly.

Jimmy B

The Korean flavors are not my favorite. In my opinion the flavors are sweet, spicy, garlic, pickled, and fermented. Bonchon does a good job with service and presentation. The chicken was crispy. I gave four stars because I believe that others may enjoy it more than we did.

Omar Cunningham

I love going out for chicken wings but this place has one of the best chicken wings I have tasted in a very long time. The staff and other customers talk about how hot they were but I enjoyed every bite and will continue to go as often as I possibly can.

Michael R. Acosta

The chicken wings were amazing. The double deep frying of the wings with the seasoning was terrific. The wings were a little under sauced and the service was terrible. The Restaurant wasn't quite as clean. Outside of that the food was pretty delicious. We got the combo (wings +drums) half and half between flavors, chicken fried rice, and seasoned fries.

mark christian

Went to BonChon last Sunday with several ppl. We were planning to get 3-4 of the 636 deals and was refused as they said it is only offered during certain times on Thursday’s. No where, (including current insta post advertising their 636 deal) is this huge restriction mentioned. I know it’s wings and bbq but I say Cheesey. Usually one of my favs and most recommended... but slipped a few spots down on my list.

Brittney Ramsay Jr.

The quality has gone down a bit! And theres alot if flies.

Summer

Bonchon is amazing overall especially for their wings - but this location isn't the best one. Pineville-Matthews is better. This location wasn't super clean inside and the service was slow - which isn't good when your mouth is on fire and your drink is empty.

pizzaunicorns

Their staff is very welcoming and helpful. Have only been there twice but their Takoyaki starter is yummy and Fried Chicken strips were killer.

Ms. Parker

Food came out quickly and staff were friendly. They have highchairs for children and a changing station. The soy fried chicken is delicious, and crunchy. I prefer the soy over the spicy because the spice level varies between visits. The bulgogi is always a good choice and the rice is always perfect. Tried the friend rice this time but the kiss of the wok is more like a burnt taste to me.

shara love

Food is amazing!!!

David Vasta

Not bad but not great either. It's ok... There is a leadership issue in the restaurant. Note people standing around doing nothing or very little while one or two people struggle to take care of everyone. There seems to be two people who don't think they work there and just stand in a locked location while the one server looks like she could use a hand. Nothing is more frustrating than watching a server struggle while other people in the restaurant that work there do nothing to help. This is what is going on in the front of house. The food never tastes fresh. It taste like it's been under heat lamps for hours. Everything is dry and tasteless. Nothing worth talking about when you leave. Tried it twice, both times the same average food and poor service. Nothing about the food or the place is worth the high price and bad service. Save your money and find another place near by. Even Chic-fil-a would be a better choice than this....it's actually fresh and the people are nice.

Tjack

I have avoided Bonchon for a good while now, because I could not help feeling it has that chain food vibe. That being said, tonight I finally tried it out, and I have to say it, this place is actually superb. The food is excellent, our Japchae and Fried chicken were fantastic. The food is also very well priced, we were stuffed by the time we left. Our server Jodi was also excellent, and we were in and out in no time.

Siobhan Caldwell

I love there soy garlic wings with some edamame best serve always super nice to eat here and prices are reasonable

Zak Richardson

Fast service and great food. Will definitely return.

Michael Cruz

Great fried wings. Get a mix of garlic and non. And gojiang sauce.

Quir J

Bibimbap didn't have much flavor but everything else I tried was good

Rashonda Logan

Korean fried chicken and the fried rice... best I ever had. My favorite dish is the beef tacos they are out of this world. Can't wait to try other menu items. Staff is friendly and they have cocktail specials daily.

So I went to bonchon just for the takoyaki, but I've been there for the chicken too. Don't get me wrong the chicken is good here, but the size if it. What happen to the size? When I came here, they used to be some big drums and wings... now they are the size of a 5 years old fingers. I don't know what happened but that's just crazy to still charge the price they do.

Food was really good but it was a little pricey and it took a little while to get my order.

Amazing fried chicken!! Staff is super nice. Waitress today was...talkative but overall nice. But that chicken though!! I'm kindve happy I don't live close to this restaurant because I'd eat it everyday

Best Korean fried chicken I have ever eaten. My brother had the Binabamp bowl and it looked so good I will trying that next!!!!

Ralph Roberts

Best wings ever, that crispy coating is awesome.

Bonchon Half & Half 30pc Chicken "Strips" Easily worth the money, in my opinion. I'm picky when it comes to meat, but their chicken is tasty.

Ive tried a lot of the food on this menu, it wont disappoint. I always get the spicy fried chicken. The crunchiness of the chicken makes my mouth water just thinking about it. My favorites are takoyaki, fried chicken and the plain fried rice. I dont know about their teokbokki though....its not my taste. The japchae is also too much soy sauce and very greasy. It is not an authentic korean place, just a franchise. They do have plenty of good options though. The salad is good as well. Ive had pretty decent service here even when its busy. No real complaint here.

I love it

The lunch fried chicken special is amazing. I feel like Jesus himself fried that chicken for me. It was probably Heyzeus but I'll take it! Yummy Yummy in my Tummy.

Vernon Montgomery

Chicken taste amazing and great service!

Ryan Thomas

Pretty good! Wish they had the lunch menu on the weekend!

Stacy Sharp

I love their soy garlic chicken tenders. Service is slow.

Gary Cooper

Great customer service, food was great. Will recommend to family and friends

Douglas Williams

Pretty good for fast Korean fare. Pot stickers were yummy. Bibimbap was okay.

Garry McCormick

Good choices of Korean fare served American chain style. The portions were large and we had to get a to go box. We did have to ask for chopsticks. They also had a nice craft beer selection, and also Soju.

Amber Spencer

Omg! Best chicken ever! Even the kimchi was better than what I've found in Charlotte! 나무 맛있어요!

5/6/2018 I came here for a quick bite and had the pork buns. They were tasty but I didn’t think the slaw went with it so I scraped it off. The pork belly part and the bun were great together. Each one needed more meat and maybe more of the sauce from the pork belly on it! I would like to try something else the next time I visit.

Woodlawn It was ok. Pressed and fried chicken is all I got out of it....asked over and over what is the recommended dish and got nothing......MSG and Sodium.....

Joe Sutthoff

Meh... The chicken drumsticks were cooked well, but lacked any real Korean flavors. They did kindly remake my hot flavoring for garlic (way to hot to enjoy). I understand I ordered it hot, but they had to of used some low-grade spices. It seemed more like a chemical burn, not a spicy burn that eventually subsides so you can dive back in for more. I will likely go back and try something else on the menu.

Kim Hoang

The food is decent and overpriced. We came to the restaurant and there were two tables they were serving. We ordered an order of 5 drumsticks and some tacos and waited 30 minutes and still didn’t get our food. Ridiculous! This is not worth going to and I could see why they are always empty. The few times we’ve eaten here, service was also slow. Last time we’re eating here.

Wade Anderson

Chicken was hard over cooked and dry. For $20 I could went to McDonald’s

Lee Callihan

I thought the food was tasty but nothing to write home about. If you love spicy and I do you can get your heat on but for others this place is not for you. Korean fried chicken is not really fried chicken in the southern definition of fried chicken. More like fried cut up pieces.

Matt Freeman

This place has an interesting twist on fried chicken and it's delicious! I have eaten lunch here numerous times and the food and service have been good each time. The location is a little odd because it is below the parking area and slightly hidden. This may prevent some people from finding it initially but don't give up, it's a great spot to eat.

"It is against our policy to give extra sauce." - The Management Honestly, the wings were pretty good and crispy, and our server was friendly -- but the reason I'm leaving a one-star review is because of a ridiculous company policy. When my spicy wings arrived, they were a little light on sauce. I asked for extra sauce, and the waitress brought me a bottle of sriracha. "I don't want sriracha," I said. "I want more of the sauce that came on the wings." The waitress explained that I can't have any more of that sauce. Seriously. "It's a secret sauce," she explained. When I asked what that had to do with me not getting enough sauce on my wings, she took me back to the kitchen and asked a cook in front of me if I could have more sauce. "No," he said. "Company policy." When I offered to pay, he rudely ignored me and walked away from the window. The waitress rolled her eyes and apologized to me. She obviously thought it was a stupid policy herself, but she said there was nothing she could do about it. By that time, my wings were cold; but I didn't bother complaining, because I figured it was company policy to not reheat them either.

Closing time was approaching, being rush to get out

In my opinion not great but my wife loved it.

Rebekah Stephens

Service is good! Food is pretty good. Haven’t tried the wings though which apparently are their #1 seller — will go back to try that!

If you have never had Korean BBQ this is the place to start. Wasn't sure what to expect, its not saucy I guess more of a glaze however very addictive. The bulgogi is yummy also. They now have 2 locations in Charlotte and I typically use a food delivery service but don't mind enjoying the dine in ambience from time to time. If for some reason I have left overs they are still good the next day. I expect more locations to pop up in the future.
