This Restaurant belongs to the category of Indian restaurant.
Fantastic Lunch buffet. I have enjoyed it many times. Just wish the Tandoori Chicken wasn't always gone!
Chicken Korma is to die for
Great food... and super service. .
Delicious food, very reasonably priced, kind and helpful staff!
Nice food, good service.
Nothing replenished on buffet with urgency. Most times just cream sauces left of what used to be meat or tofu dishes. Great if you like putting sauce on rice. Great naan, though. Highest price in area.
One of the best Indian restaurants in Charlotte.
Thank you to Nishal & the Bombay Grille team for their incredible service and food at out wedding. Nishal was so easy and flexible to work with and our guests are still raving about how great the food was. Thank you for helping make our wedding unforgettable!
Locally owned and owner is good guy. Food is consistent everytime
Thus far, Bombay Grille has the best Indian food I've found in Charlotte. I've heard that there are better Indian restaurants. However, I haven't found them. I've tried several items on the menu. None have disappointed. The decor is nice...nicer than I expected.
Good food....Great service from ricky.....we will definely be back.....thanks
Horrible food. No variety even on a Sunday. The food has been tweaked to cater the taste of Caucasians and African Americans in the area but if you originally belong to Southern Asia and know what Indian or Pakistani food taste like, you will hate it.
Some of the best Indian food around. Good salad in place of rice for low carb
I absolutely loved the food here. None of the dishes I tried tasted at all the same and I loved that. The service was great to.
Best Indian restaurant in Charlotte/Pineville.
I love Indian food.... but this was on offense. The navratan korma was closer to cream of mushroom or bad bechamel with canned veggies.... but mostly sauce. The aloo ghobi was just as bad. I asked for chili sauce, and they brought Chinese chili garlic sauce. Service was slow, but at least the servers were polite and appeared to be doing their best. Horrible
I brought my mother and younger brother here, first Indian restaurant. In our experience the staff was very nice, our waiter was very friendly to my toddler and he was on it with drink refills and bread. I'm a vegetarian, and had no problem finding something delicious!
Food is ok in taste. Waiters really don’t care much about Indians. There website publishes coupons and if you ask them to apply those. They mis-treat you like if what you asked. Its not allowed and we are giving you. The coupons on their website says you can just show it in restaurant from your mobile. Service is un-predictable. Depends on who serve you that day.
Service is very good! Then check on the customers multiple times and are attentive. However on one of the visits the Naan appeared to not have been cooked sufficiently. The chicken curry was also underwhelming. I am still rooting for this place as they seem to understand the concept of service and are trying hard.
This used to be my absolute favorite place in the whole world to eat. But, I don't know if they changed chefs or owner's because the food I had on my birthday was disgusting. Undercooked, absolutely no flavor, no heat or spices, just horrible food. I was so disappointed. I can't afford to eat out very often and going out to Bombay grille every year for my bday has been tradition, but I'm never going back here again. Even the service was horrible. One server practically threw our dinner plates down. It's very sad how downhill this place has gone. It used to be so great. You just lost a yearly regular customer of almost 9 years.
Great food.. good service .. consistently good food!!
By far our favorite Indian food restaurant in Charlotte! Long term staff shows in their pride and professionalism. Menu is large ( as one can imagine). We have enjoyed loads of different meals their over the years, all of them good! They have well packed take out if you want to bring it home. If you really want to indulge, try their all you can eat lunch buffet... but be warned you will need discipline!
THE BEST samosas I have ever had. Usually they are so hard on the outside, but theirs have a light and fluffy crust that is fantastic. The paneer mackni is delicious too!
Place used to be great but now seems they must be new owners or cooks. Food is bland, flavorless. Used non basmati rice on the buffet. Mango lassi is very thick and nearly needs a spoon to eat.
I just went in for lunch buffet thursday by 2.03 pm. The waiter said "please check the buffet and decide whether you like to take the buffet or not, because we do not refill the buffet after 2 pm" which sounds so very unethic. Made my mind to have my lunch with the available food and went to the buffet, but unfortunately most of the dishes were totally emptied and dried. Still i tried enquiring the waiter, strictly he said no refill after 2 pm. Welcoming the customer within their mentioned restaurant timing i.e 11 am - 2.30 pm and saying no food refill for the next 30 minutes within their service open hours is unacceptable. If the management is very much concerned in controlling the food wastage and cost effective by not refilling the buffet after 2 pm, then I would kindly suggest to change the buffet timing as 11pm - 2pm instead 2.30 pm in the website and in the restaurant door as well. Writing this review wishing this not to happen to any other customers. I had to give one star as it was the only option to write this review, otherwise none. Thanks.
Tasty food..... Good service....
Almost love everything at this place. It has maintained Indian traditional flavors and not made hem bland!!!! Highly recommend it.
This is hands down the best Indian food lunch buffet in town!
Bombay Grill is my favorite Indian restaurant in Charlotte. I've only had good experiences and good food from their weekend buffet to carry out orders.
This is a place my family and I eat at regularly. We have never had an experience anything less than excellent! From the service to the food, everything is exceptional!!
We have been to many Indian restaurants in the area and this one is our favorite. The palak paneer is one of the best and the garlic naan is amazing. They are also accommodating of dairy allergies and were able to recommend dairy-free dishes. The servers are also the friendliest and most attentive.
Excellent, authentic, fresh food. Friendly, caring waiter (Ricky). We had a wonderful family dinner there last night!
Best indian restaurant good food never eat before thanks for the good service ❤❤❤
This place is the best! Garlic cheese nan is sooo good
Amazing food or I can call this as the best Indian restaurant in Charlotte since by now I have tried food everywhere in charlotte. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the slow service otherwise food is the best here.
Great food. Good service. My only complaint is that sometimes they are so busy that it takes a couple of calls to get someone on the phone to place a to go order.
High price, low quality Full of attitude There are much better new Indian restaurants around. Cheap staff Cheap food Cheap service High price
This place has the most delicious Indian food and is not pricy with a theme for first dates or family meals.
First time having their lunch buffet and although they may not have had as many dishes as other Indian buffets, what they had was excellent. One dish that stood out was the egg curry. Not only did it have hard-boiled eggs, they also put Indian Egg Omelette in tbe curry - very good.
Nice Indian food. Went here for buffet lunch and variety of options were available. Price is nominal and taste is good so a must try if you like Indian cuisine.
Great food and service! Every single item ordered was fresh and tasty. Only downside is that the appetisers portions are very small. Also, the staff is very friendly and courteous!
Went on buffet day with my boyfriend. He has celiac disease so we had to order off the menu. The staff was amazing to accommodate him. The food was incredible. We shared one entree and an appetizer. Even got some mango lasses. Yum!
Average restaurant. We went for a dinner and ordered a la carte dishes. Food taste was average. Restroom was not neatly maintained. No napkin or hand dryer in washroom. They were mopping the floor in front of us which made us feel disgusting while eating. Guy who served us was benevolent though which is the only thing I would appreciate.
This place is a gem. I have several reasons why I love it here. Whenever I come into Charlotte, I always come here. Their Indian buffet is so worth it. I've never tried their dinner though. Firstly, the service is absolutely amazing! The servers are all so kind and willing to assist. They are quick with refills and anything else you need. Never had to ask for a refill. They just came on their own. Also, the naan is fantastic. It's thick and fluffy, but it also crisp on the outside. And third, the food is great! Their food tastes authentic and real. The food isn't too fragrant or spicy for people who have sensitive palettes. It's just enough spice and bursting with flavor. The only thing that they could work on is having more choices. They have great dishes out but with an addition of two or so more dishes, they could really be the best Indian buffet! If you live in Charlotte or are visiting, come here for lunch! It's a decent price and is soooooo worth it!!!
Food is always awesome
If you want that delicious authentic Indian flavor that you crave. This is the best spot in Charlotte. ✨✨✨❤️
Great place to be, amazing food and great servers. Highly recommend.
Food was spoiled one... Paneer curry was bad.
Excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly staff
Excellent food, and fantastic service. I am not an Indian Food Aficionado, but the experience was definitely above average. I would recommend if you are into Indian cuisine.
I loved the food, service was slow the day I visited as it was on christmas so. But everything apart from that was decent enough to visit again. Good job guys.
I don't necessarily care for Indian food, but LOVE the buffet. Visit frequently with coworkers
The food and service is excellent. Authentic garlic naan!
Excellent waiters and staff, great atmosphere, delicious food... escape from the hectic day here...
Very limited options for vegetarian in Lunch Buffet
Great food!
The buffet has good options and is reasonably priced. The menu food is very good! And the staff is very friendly!
Food was typical entres from India. Decor was nice and staff was very attentive. Menu were very worn and each one was in a different order so confusing when trying to order several dishes for the group. Only had mango Lasso not the traditional one so that was disappointing.
I've been eating here since I was a little girl and it has always been great. I really suggest the lunch buffet, it's especially good if you aren't sure what dishes you will like. Dinner has family style portions with rice (no shame if you eat it all yourself though). My favorite is the Lamb Madras. Also be sure to try some garlic cheese naan!
I eat here regularly and really enjoy it. Staff is always prompt and polite. Food is good and plentiful. I have been on busy Friday or Saturday nights and had to wait, always the same three waiters.. but they hustle and I always go back.
Lunch buffet does not disappoint. The servers have been friendly in my visits here and are quick to provide drink and naan bread refills. There's a variety of Indian dishes on the buffet, along with sauces and soups. Although I dont remember the name of the dish, the breaded cauliflower with sweet and spicy sauce and scallions was very reminiscent of General Tso's chicken, but much better! I'll most certainly go back here.
Lunch buffet was very tasty!
Best Indian Restaurant in Charlotte!!
We came in not knowing what to expect but were blown away. Everything was delicious and the service was great(Our server was Ricky). We will be returning (probably many times!!)
We had a fantastic dinner, food was wonderful and service great!!
Very limited items for veg
Food was good, service too was good. Not spicy but if you tell them they do make it spicy. Since my parents can't handle spicy food they liked it. My wife and Me who prefer spicy food asked them to make on of the entree more spicy and it was decent. Overall liked it and also close to my place
Very good flavors not to hot.
I've lived in Charlotte since 1999 and it seems as if I've always gone to Bombay Grille when I start hankering for some outstanding Indian food. Not only does the place have a fantastic lunch buffet, it also offers fantastic entrees and a regular menu for dinner. The staff there is never less than friendly, knowledgeable and ready to help someone who doesn't know the names of the dishes he wants, yet can kind of describe them. Yeah, I'm a difficult customer. The thing is, the waiters I've had there have been helpful in the extreme, attentive during meals and always ready to assist. And the food. . . Oh, my Flying Spaghetti Monster, the food is fantastic. We had the Seekh Kabob for the first time over the weekend and it was amazing. A mixture of minced lamb and some wonderful spices, it was served off the stick with purple onions and green bell peppers. I don't even like green bell peppers and yet ate all of these I could find. It only got better. Definitely worth your time and money.
Great food. Had the Sunday buffet and experienced so many new dishes and loved each of them. Will come back again when we ate in town.
One of my absolute favorites!!!
Awesome food, just love it. especially Paneer Bhurji spicy one..
I usually don't like buffets but their Sunday lunch is very good!
I would've taken a 20 gallon tub of the naan if possible
Great Indian Cuisine, best food! Love coming to eat at this place with my family, staff is very friendly staff. Love the people, food and atmosphere.
I've been here quite a few times and it's always been OK . The buffet has always been a little bit on the smaller side but acceptable ...However, the food has gone downhill. It's the worst Indian food around now. The buffet now looks and taste like it's been reheated many times . The dishes now taste like something out of a can .
Excellent service and friendly staff. They work well as a team and are always around. The food is very good, like the 5 scale for spiciness. They have many nann options but we just did the plain. Several vegetarian options as expected but the chicken was good. I would recommend trying this place.
Best Indian in Charlotte. Hands down
The best Indian food that I have had in many years! I tried this restaurant because the one that I was going to could not accommodate my pickup order and now this is the place I am going. Additionally, ordered spicy and it was wonderfully spicy, most places skimp a bit on the spices (even when you order extra spicy). This is a must eat if you like Indian food
This place is really good. Great food, great service, and pleasant atmosphere. They truly want to please customers here. The food’s quality is excellent!
Love the food, the service is great and lunch time is VERY affordable. You can tell the cook (or cooks) know how to prepare Indian food. Good job guys!!
The last 2 times we have been here they were out of everything we wanted from the dinner menu. The lunch buffet is good. But we will not take another chance on dinner. The worst thing was that the server had no idea what they actually had or what they were out of. So after 2 times of attempting to order we just left. And most of the servers speak broken English.
Great food. The Madras curry was kind of sweet especially for a person from Madras I know it's wrongly named :). The tandoori chicken which was very good.
South Indians Better Avoid This Restaurant .. I was wondered whether I ate chicken or sweet
Had a girl's night out and this was my very first time trying something different. Can't say I wasn't pleased. I had the Chicken Marsala with with rice and gravy level 3. It was delicious!
My first time ever eating Indian food. This was the best tasting food I have had in years. My waiter Rickey was very attentive. He checked on us frequently to make sure we were ok. I'm African American and have not recieved Class A sevice like this in a while. They treat everyone equal!
Not. Everything was good most was ok
Awesome food!!
Excellent, a must try in Charlotte
Grabbed takeout here one time. The food was very good with great taste and nice spice. Very quick service and convenient parking. The restaurant had the typical Indian restaurant buffet feel to it --didn't fell all that clean. Not as hip or good as the Blue Taj, but would certainly go back.
Order mango lassie!
Good food.... Great service.... Authentic taste of Indian cuisine.....
Everything was absolutely AMAZING! Loved the atmosphere, hospitality, and food. Definitely recommend and will be back!
Good food!
Got there right when they opened back up for dinner, wait staff was very attentive, food was really good, I always get Lamb Vindaloo (I travel all over the country for work) and this was probably second best I've ever had.
The food was delicious and fresh. I will be returning there the next time I want Indian food. I am stuffed.
Yummy delicacies... Enjoyed the food
Most of the Indian restaurants in Charlotte that I've been to were not anything to write home about. This place was fantastic, and their quality helped justify the price, a little. The nicest staff clearly aimed to please. Big thumbs up to a place that after twenty years maintains four stars. I had the lamb vindaloo with a 4 out of 5 heat index and it was just fine. Next time I'll go to 5 out of 5 just to see if they really challenge my heat tolerance...I doubt it.
Took the fam here today. We loved the food and the service was better than most. We will definitely be back!!
Yesterday we went to celebrate Diwali dinner to Bombay grill.. The food was amazing.. The place was very clean and nice. The staff were polite and professional. I strongly recommend this place.
Food was just amazing. Naan were so fresh it was surreal ... Service was quick and courteous. Would absolutely love to go again
Their lunch buffet is really great. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food is really good for an Indian buffet, their dessert donut in syrup is one of the best things I've ever had. They bring out fresh bread with every meal for lunch. I really can't say enough good things about how wonderful their lunch buffet is. The red onion stuff on the salad buffet is extremely spicy so beware!
Stunning indian food both veg and non veg. It got my very impression from the first day i ate there. The most captivating is the indo-chinese on the menu..a must try who love eating indo-chinese. My only suggestion is that they can pace up their food delivery service. A long wait to be served.
100% best restaurant in Charlotte! Fabulous service and top quality food! It is made very well! It is by far the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to in my lifetime! I absoutley love this place and would recommend it to everyone out there!
Best Indian Cuisine in Charlotte. Always fresh and made to perfection. Excellent staff. Always a pleasure to see Jose and Ricky's smiling faces.
Loved it. Good quality, normal prices as expected, fresh, authentic food. Buffet lunch option, can't wait to go try all the food. Go! The service was perfect, by the book as if I was at their home. Really kind, friendly, sweet, and professional people.
We went for a buffet. The plates were dirty. We went around 12pm even then there wasn't enough food. The food felt like it was the leftovers of the previous day. Also, they charged us 18% gratuity for buffet. That was ridiculous consider we didnt get any service.
Best chicken Tikka masala, always a great vegetarian paneer dish on buffet and excellent service. We travel out of our way to eat here.
First time visiting. Tables needed thorough cleaning. Smelled like wet rag. Waited 40 mins for our food. A little too pricey for quantity given. Average taste, nothing special.
Best Indian food restaurant EVER. Food is delicious and fresh and very affordable. I love it. A MUST TRY.
Worst catering ever!! How can you do this to such a great couple and family ... horrible!!
A little slow on cooking, but very tasty.
Excellent
Hired #BombayGrille to cater for my daughter's wedding because this business was the preferred caterer for Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem and recommended by them. The food tasted very well in prior tasting. On the wedding day, biryani and kabobs ran short in quantity despite the fact that the number of guests who showed up were less than the number paid for. This was very embarrassing for me and the only sore point of the wedding event. Bride, groom and the guests at the back of the line didn't get food. The owner never bothered once to apologize. I was later told by some friends that they had encountered food shortage at another wedding where food was catered by #Bombaygrille so this was not a one time event. Unfortunately I found this out too late. I would not recommend them for catering for an event as important as a wedding.
Very tasty food ...excellent service.....
The worst restaurant I have even been to. The Indian guy who looks like a manager/supervisor was so rude. He was raising his voice to us just like if we were there for free food. We ordered a garlic naan and we need more. I asked if we could get two more naan and they bought us regular naan. I told him I was expecting garlic naan. He replied saying, “THAT IS WHAT YOU ORDERED AND THAT IS WHAT YOU WILL GET”. I asked him to lower his voice but he started arguing. I paid my bills left the place. No respect for the customer and zero customer service. Please do not go there .
Best Indian buffet lunch. Everyday they have a new featured special. The tandoori chicken is always my favorite. The service is always good as well.
Great traditional dishes and fair portions. Perfect to eat in or take out.
One of the best place for good Indian food and excellent service.
Trft
My favorite Indian restaurant in Charlotte! The lunch buffet is the best and they offer it Monday thru Sunday. I particularly like the tandoori chicken. Wish they would open one in Matthews....
This place used to be the best in town and had amazing service. I would eat several tunes s week here especially for their buffet. Unfortunately, they have been bringing new staff in and the quality and speed of their food has worsened over time. I decided to give them a third chance recently and the inability to keep fresh food coming out, forced us to leave to get food elsewhere. It is a pity because this restaurant used to have the best, freshest food around, with matching great service. Now it's just another place in town. What a shame.
Decent buffet, nice atmosphere.
This is the absolute most amazing Indian restaurant I have ever been to, the staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was phenomenal! I've eaten Chicken Korma all over the United States and can say that theirs is by far the most delicious. I plan on coming back time and time again to this awesome place!
Very good. Food was tasty, service was fast, prices were very reasonable. I frequently eat Indian food in Southern California where there is a large Indian population that creates healthy competition. Bombay Grille compares very favorably!
Food was great. The elderly gentleman who waited on us (a party of three) was very friendly. Great ambience as usual. 5 Stars for the food and the elderly gentleman and his recommendations. However the new guy who cashed us out was contentious. We had a coupon that would have gotten us a dish free (upto $ 15 value) when we ordered one. We ordered three that evening. On presenting the coupon, this guy slyly takes off the least costly dish and then hits us with a 18% gratuity that more than offsets what got deducted for using the coupon. Go figure!! Did not argue. But did point out the guy his "not so smart move" before leaving.
This restaurant used to be very good and tasty!!! Used to be a family favorite for us. But over the years the food has became awful! The customer service is awful. They are not very friendly. They only want your money and that’s it. Food has went downhill. Every time we get our food it has been cold. We’ve been going here for years. We will not return anymore
Had a wonderful meal. Me and my gf got the mashed eggplant dish and the 5 lentil curry. The eggplant was a little sweet for my taste (but still delicious) .The 5 lentil curry was amazing, will definitely order again.
Best Indian Food in Charlotte, hands down!
The buffet tends to be a little hit-or-miss some days are better than others but it's my favorite place in town to order from the menu.
We eat here often; good food, great service. Easily accommodates large parties. They treat us like family.
Wow very very good chicken tikka masala! Will be back
Great food.
Always exceptional food and attentive service. My only wish is for a nicer ladies room!
Best Indian food and service was good
Been coming here for years and it's always above expectations. Personal favorite is the lamb korma (level 3) with some garlic nan. I got take out last night and the sauce and meat come in a practical plastic container in great proportions. The only issue is that I find myself licking the sauce out of the container when it's gone- it's too good!
The food was low quality cuts of meat and poorly seasoned curries. All food was cheap, cheap, cheap but high priced. The servers were nice but slow. My water was empty for 20 minutes during the meal and it took a long time to get our check. Go to Blue Taj, Copper or Persis instead. I am disappointed we wasted our money here.
Absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend:) The restaurant is clean and organized the food is spectacular and the staff is very professional!
Very good indian restaurant at Pineville-Matthews. Nice atmosphere and they play old indin songs. Good hospitality and staffs personally attend the customer very professionally. I preferred to order Biryani to test cooked chicken quality, masala, and rice of the Indian restaurant. Chief served very nice way and test was awesome. Over all 5 star. Will check out their buffet on weekends.
Authentic Indian food, a bit pricey but it's pretty good
Spot on Indian, in my white boy (LOL) opinion!!! All was yummy and they nailed the extra spicey for me!!! Will be back again soon.
Excellent food want to go again
Food was good but only had 1 person out front. I don't know if someone called out but it took a while to get the check.
Best food in Charlotte.
Servers were very nice and knowledgeable. Lighting was a bit dark but it gave the intimate feel. Free bread/crackers/chips were given with dipping sauce. Dishes are served family style with rice to share (they refill rice). Food was amazing! Meals start at about $13.
Love the food here.
Best Indian buffet
This is my favorite Indian restaurant in town. Friendly employees and quick service. The food is so delicious, and they can give it the perfect amount of heat for your tolerance level. Definitely check it out if you want a fantastic meal.
Excellent service, awesome food you have to appreciate Indian cuisine.
The food here is consistently good, even when you get takeout. We’ve been eating here for years and the quality has remained excellent. Staff is always super polite, and the menu is one of the largest I’ve seen in an Indian restaurant.
Love the new dishes on the buffet. A favorite after church spot for my husband and me. Great service and delicious, well-prepared food. Highly recommend!
My girlfriend and I come to Charlotte every year for some strange reason. We don’t know why. We just like to get away for a weekend and it just happens to be here. Last year we really wanted Indian food so we turned to yelp and ended up here. Here we are a year later enjoying yet another lunch. This place by no means is perfect. If you’ve been to other Indian buffets, you’ll definitely compare. But everything tastes very authentic. That might weird to hear, but compared to Indian restaurants that I’ve been to, the flavors are layered here. Most places in Georgia(where we’re from) the flavor is just one level. What you smell and put in your mouth will be the same after you chew it. But here, when I smell it and it touches my tongue for the first time, it’s turns into something different after I keep chewing. This is by far the weirdest review I’ve ever posted, but I think it deserves this level of weirdness. The naan is always fresh. They bring it out to you as opposed to it being already at the buffet bar. Also, the naan is a bit on the thicker side. If you’re a thick naan person, then this is the place to go.
Best food and service in charlotte
Always great food and good service
Lamb chops are the best here.
Amazing service from the moment I walked into the door and left. My first time being here and I'm so sad I haven't checked this place out sooner. This is by far the BEST Indian cuisine I've ever had. The BEST. I'm ready to come back tomorrow for lunch. Soooo delicious!
Do you enjoy having waiters watch you as you eat and constantly eavesdrop on your conversations? Then this is the place for you! Not to mention that they stand next to you and are awkward as anything. Directions aren't followed either... order two of something and only get one.. Avoid.
