Gilligan (the boss) is a GREAT guy. The staff here is EXCEPTIONAL... Tori and Matt made me feel like I MATTERED. Both were bar tending and serving like PROS. The prime rib is always FLAWLESS. (I think it's only available Wednesdays at dinner time) Some of the most outstanding food and service in the Charlotte area without a doubt. I ALWAYS feel a POSITIVE ENERGY here. The vibe is simultaneously PROFESSIONAL and RELAXED. You can't go wrong with ANYTHING on the menu

Great place for reliably delicious and healthy options food (check out watermelon tuna poke appetizer or happy hour tacos). Incredible selection of local beer. I've heard the cocktails and wine offerings are also great, but I've never needed more than the beers on tap. Great place. A local chain, and wonderful for any gathering.

Had a nice lunch at black finn. Service was great and food was delicious. We had prezles, bbq mac n cheese, and chicken BLT tacos. All were good and served fresh and hot.

Came for happy hour and they ran out of 2.50 bud light. How do you have a special and not have any in stock? Quick look around and I only see 1 bud (this is at 5pm). No substitute allowed for draft at same price. Food is great but won't be coming for happy hour unless work picks the place.

A friend and I decided to have a cigar and beer on the patio. Upon being greeted by a waitress we were assured that smoking was accepted and provided an ashtray. About 10 minutes into smoking an expensive cigar, we were asked to leave due to another patron’s complaint (white privilege). No one offered to find us another seat. I contacted management and was offered a callback, it never happened. The waiter did explain that smoking is allowed on the patio after 10 pm. The smoking policy is not posted anywhere. Avoid this location. The manager is rude and unprofessional. The manager also declares this pub the official Greenbay Packers headquarters. Hello, this is Charlotte, not Madison Wisconsin! Go Panthers.

Great spot for an after-work decompression for a hard day at the office. This is Ballantyne! The crowd is well mixed, good for young and old, but probably not for the kiddos. Our server, Amanda, was on the spot and attentive. She recommended some local beers for us that were good, like the Red Oak Amber and Lonerider Hippy Ki Yay. Give this place a try, especially on a game night.

Well I understand a busy crowded bar. Patiently waiting for a table, we were overlooked despite standing right in front of the hostess stand for 30 minutes. When asked about the status of our table, the exscuses were a phone call was attempted to let us know we were up for a table. However, just a wave or calling someones name would have done the job. Customer service was unwelcoming, unresolving hostile comments from the hostesses. It took me speaking with a manager to get us a table. Why does it take manager to make sure the customer has the table or is satisfied? Operational issues and a low healthcare rating for a place that appears to have a nice atmosphere. Don't reccomend that location.

Four of us had dinner and drinks here tonight. The total was $186 before tip and 2 of us left hungry. I would only give 1 star, but the taco tasted good. Let me start with the drinks. The wine menu is limited and very expensive by the glass for bad wine choices. Two of us ordered the fish taco dinner, the others ordered a salmon dinner and a one ordered a salad. When the meals arrived, we were all surprised at the lack of food on the plate. The fish tacos were about 3" in diameter and honestly were 2 bites each. We questioned if we received an appetizer size and were told no. The service was equally bad, we had to flag her down to ask for a refill. At one point I asked if there was a charge for more water, she said no and then just stared at me. Then I asked if I could have more; then she filled my glass. Before we were finished with the 6 bites of the tacos, she asked if it was on one bill or seperate. I answered one 1 and I would pay. I was very surprised at the price and I reluctantly tipped 15%. While I was signing the bill, she stopped by again and said she needed to leave and asked if we were done. One of my guest said he could not remember such poor service or size of entree before. The bar area was busy. I will give this another chance sometime soon and hoping it was just a one time experience, but will not order tacos.

If I could give a negative rating I certainly would. Over 2 hours and no food and we were sat outside in the chilly weather. 10 minutes to get drinks cause the didnt have glasses clean. I would NEVER reccomend this place. After waiting 2 hours for my Fried green tomato BLT .. I was given an attitude when asked for a box. Do not go here.

Great spot for Packers football! Full disclosure: altho it is unquestionably and officially a Packers bar, the Green Bay crowd is asked to move to the 2nd level when a Panthers game coincides. I almost prefer it that way. Either way, the menu is excellent, the area of town is clean and upscale, there's no shortage of big screens, and the staff does great work.

Sports bar, but I personally think their full menu is better than most bars. However, the same can't be said for their limited late night menu. But I'll still give them an extra star for tasty dishes like their lemon chicken, shrimp caeser, fried green tomato sandwich, and buffalo chicken salad.

My husband and i had dinner here on 10/11/2019. What a wonderful experience! Mike R was our server and was absolutely awesome and on top of things for us the entire time. I tried the Bourbon burger with sweet potato casserole. The sweet potato casserole was delightful. Not every day at a restaurant I can get sweet potato casserole as a side. The burger was cooked perfectly medium for me. We will definitely be back! couldn’t be more impressed.

This seemed like a hip place with a young crowd, but was welcoming to everyone. I had the chicken and avocado salad with green goddess, which was excellent. My companions thoroughly enjoyed the tuna poke appetizer and chicken tacos. None of us left a crumb of food on our plates. There was plenty of light and the screens were entertaining without being intrusive. However, the music was too loud. We could barely carry on conversation. Overall I'd highly recommend, but you may want to ask them to adjust the volume.

I enjoy Blackfinn. We would go more often if their wings weren't overcooked (my husband is a wing man). I love their Turkey burger, but am disappointed that they've removed the brussel sprouts from the sides menu. Those things said, I never say no when Blackfinn is suggested for lunch or dinner. There are lots of good things to choose from. Oh, bring back the tuna poke, too! The tuna and watermelon does not impress.

Second time here. Friendly server. I had the Fried green tomato BLT. Was a little soggy with too much pimiento cheese. Next time I will order easy on the cheese. My husband loved his cajun pasta which he substituted shrimp instead of chicken. Salads were good. The appetizer of chips and beer cheese dip was a little smaller than expected but still good. All in all we love this place and will be back.

Waited 10 minutes for the waiter after I was seated by the young hostess. No waiters appeared. The restaurant was half full on a Wednesday night at 9:30pm. Tried to speak to the hostess as she walked by a couple of times but she was more interested in getting back to her female companion hanging out at the hostess station. Finally gave up waiting and let the hostess know that I couldn't wait indefinitely for a waiter to take my order. The hostess laughed and said "Whatever". If having your order taken means something to you, then you shouldn't go to this restaurant. EDIT: Management responded to my review 2 days later. More false promises from this restaurant's management. Other reviewers have also complained in the past about the wait staff and hostess at Blackfinn Ameripub. Management's response was the same as mine ("We'll address it with our wait staff."). I'm here to say that nothing was done about this matter. It's clear to me that all the glowing reviews were left by friends / family of those working at this Blackfinn Ameripub restaurant. If you want to eat delicious food and be treated respectfully by a restaurant's wait staff, then go eat and Stone Mountain Grill and Terrace Cafe. I went to those excellent restaurants after my poor experience at Blackfinn Ameripub.

We were looking forward to Blackfinn's experience. However, the hostess seemed to have an attitude when we first walked in. She then sat us at a booth with a filthy table and put the menus in a pddle. When we pointed this out to her, she went to the rear of the restaurant and got a towel. She only cleaned one on the wet soot splattering the table and left the wet venues. Needless to say, I walked out. Also needless to say, I will never grace Blackfinn's with my presence again.

Had an absolutely terrible experience at this restaurant. We went to try and enjoy a nice mothers day dinner and it was terrible from the START. The service was sub par and the waitress made us seem as if we were inconveniencing her. The hostess was like talking to a wall.. no personality barely any greeting and didn't even say good bye on our way out. The food was sub par and the experience just made it worse. Our waitress pretty much lied to us about a question on the menu that when we asked another staff member they gave us a totally different answer.. extremely disappointing we will never eat at this restaurant and when discussing with friends that have been here they feel the same way.. this business will not be open for long if they continue like this.

Went for lunch around 1:00 on a Saturday. When I approached the hostess stand, two employees were standing there. They smiled but didn’t say anything until we started walking to the table and I was informed that they only had two crayons. The place wasn’t very busy at all, yet service was extremely slow. We should have left when we had to ask for our son’s high chair to be cleaned as I wiped the table for us. My husband ordered the Mac n cheese with blackened chicken. The chicken tasted terrible. I ordered chicken parm sliders with fries. The sauce on the chicken was very thick and filled with tomato skins-very strong tasting in an unpleasant way. The chicken piece was very small and thin with an excessive amount of breading-more breading than chicken. We ordered from the kids menu for 3 children. Most of their food was left on their trays because they didn’t like it. The menu said French fries. They are heavily seasoned fries. The kids grilled chicken looked like my husbands blackened chicken. We asked our server to bring us the kids’ dessert because they weren’t eating their meals. She brought out three cups of ice cream with water dripping down her hands and arms. I don’t know what she was doing. We will not be back.

Horrible experience in the Ballantyne location!!! I was sat by the host 25 mins later i had to ask if someone was going to take my order. So the hostess took my order. No one came for another 15 with the wrong order. The crazy part about it is every one but me was getting service!!! Very very disappointing!!!

Gave this place another go after dismal service, slow and inaccurate the last time. Came here tonight and I understand if they had a lot of call outs, but we sat and no one came over. We finally got up and left and went somewhere else. Never even got drink orders. The hostess that sat us didn’t even barely look at us and ask why we were leaving. Won’t be returning, too many other great places to spend money at.

It was extraordinarily average. Went in on a Sunday early evening and the place was about a quarter full. Our service was nice and fast. The interior seemed modern and clean but most of the bench seats had cracked padding. Our table was sticky and one of the appetizer plates that had our silverware on it was dirty. I ordered a half rack of the cheerwine ribs. It was okay. The ribs weren't tender enough and I had to struggle to break the ribs apart. There wasn't enough sauce and the underlying meat had no flavor. My fiancee ordered the BBQ mac n cheese and she really enjoyed it, though had a lot of fatty parts of the BBQ. Overall it was okay. Next time we're in Charlotte we will go somewhere else that's a but more exciting with a more interesting menu.

This is a nice space, quite a bit different from the uptown location as it is more of a steel and glass affair and feels quite modern. The bar is well staffed and the food is surprisingly delicious. Great spot for ether food or drinks if you’re in the area.

Fish tacos were yummy but portion was very small. Kate moss would have wanted more. Starving kids in China didn't stop for these fish tacos bc they we're so small! A Smurf would ask for seconds! Oh, and the chix blt tacos were tasty also. Not as tasty. But tasty. And bigger but still smurftastically small portion. And beer was smurfing outrageously priced! And warm. They are lucky they even got 3 stars out of me.

All items ordered were good: Blackened chicken al fredo Buffalo Wings Margarita flatbread pizza Prices were fair, maybe a buck too high. Beer selection was good - not 100 choices but who needs 100 beers! Wine by the glass was a little pricy.
