Here you will be able to see the opinions of real people who are purchasing the products of Zengo (Restaurant) in the state of New York.
At the present the business has a score of 4.2 out of 5 and that rating has been based on 657 reviews.
As you can see it reaches an feddbacks average is good, and it is founded on a large number of reviews, so we can conclude that the valuation is quite credible. If people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to write evaluations when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Asian restaurant.
There isn't much about this place that hasn't been said. The food is very delicious. The mix of Mexican and Asian cuisines worked very well. The drinks kept flowing and service was fast and pleasant. This was my second time there, and our server David gave us another reason to keep going back. Everyone from our table left the restaurant very pleased.
Great decor and good but typical NYC prices for small plates. Staff was friendly but a little too friendly. They checked in on us 5 times in an hour long period.
The unlimited brunch on labor day was amazing...
It is very big and has a nice decor. There is a more private downstairs area that has more of a nighttime vibe to it with dark lighting and lounge vibe. We ordered a few different things to eat and had a few cocktails. I enjoyed everything. Not the cheapest place but nice overall.
This place doesn't know what it wants to be. The food was fine, but the "fusion" touches didn't really add anything. I think it would be better with simpler dishes highlighting the elements individually.
Service was top notch! Went here during Pride weekend and got a reservation. Servers always checked up on our group even though they’re fully booked. Love the food and the drinks!
The food was amazing!! The tres leches dessert was horrible...
This was my second visit to this restaurant and sadly wasn't as memorable as the first time. The service is great here but the food can be a little underwhelming depending on the dish ordered. My entree was ok, although nothing I was over the moon about, however the other 3 in my party weren't very impressed by were able to get through the meal. The food portions were questionable for some dishes based on the price and other dishes were a bit too much in the sweet side. Definitely wish I had ordered the same thing I did the first visit. Additional simpler menu items would go a long way here
I should start by saying that this place has one of the best brunches New York has to offer. For just $49, you get two hours of unlimited food and cocktails. Coktails include Mango Mimosa, Original Mimosa, Lychee Mimosa, Sangria, Blood Red Sangria etc. The server took great care of us and made sure we had the time of our lives. The vibes are great and the place is beautiful. Zengo, you rock!!
This room gives great ambiance. Tacos were really good!
Had the boozy brunch there. Meh at best. Sushi was cut & presented horribly. Mimosas 4/10 at best. 3 stars is being kind.
Great Bento Box lunch option.
Great place, ambiance and bartender was awesome. I was initially there for La Biblioteca. Although I was a bit confused. I guess upstairs the place is called Zengo and downstairs is La Biblioteca. I stayed upstairs since they were able to offer us La Biblioteca menu, which has tequila tastings. If you love tequila this is the place to be. The upstairs part is big and great for large group get togethers. The bar area is small but there are lots of tables. Downstairs is darker and cozier. I will definitely return.
Late happy hour is gone!
One of my favorite places for happy hour! The margaritas are on point and there's a great selection of inexpensive bites that are a cut above normal bar food. Try the short rib taco and Korean fried chicken!
I was pleasantly surpised! Although a bit on the pricey side, the food was really delicious! The steak, and all apps were amazing! Best Asian bbq ribs ever! But you only get three small pieces for 17$ I think! Nice decor as well.
Amazing 3 level restaurant. Loved it. Great food, ambiance, service
Absolutely loved the satay and the crab guacamole. Cocktails are done really well. Atmosphere is very inviting and sexy
Weekday happy hour here is great and runs until 8:00 and has decently priced drinks and food
Amazing brunch this weekend. Food was delicious, especially the fish chicharron and Thai friend chicken. Blood orange mimosas should definitely be part of the meal.
Saturday is the best day to go and they probably have the best brunch menu available around the area. Servers were on point, very fast and friendly. However the one thing I did not like was that sometimes during cold days they won't open and instead of telling you when you call to make reservations, they won't say a word. Last time it happened to me and my friends. We ended up going to another restaurant that was pricey and the food was not good. Overall it is a good place to do brunch.
Tequila options at La Biblioteca were awesome. Great drink menu and apps. Went for a work event and they were very accommodating
The short rib flatbread with arugula - Yum! I really wanted to try the mushroom flat bread but the short rib turned out to be just enough. The churros are literally melt in your mouth. Gracious service, quiet, low lit.
Zengo was the venue for an annual get together of current and former volunteers, and they supplied the upstairs space and amazing food! Innovative menu, beautiful space, attentive staff.
Went for brunch menu yesterday. Waiter was great, very knowledgeable, place had nice decor and food was good. This would have gotten a higher star rating (4/5)if not for the horrendous and inhumane policy by management regarding taking home the rest of our food. After ordering the brunch tapas menu the three of us had a substantial amount of food left, entire plates of food was untouched. We asked for a take home container only to be told they do not allow you take home any items from the 2 hour brunch menu and it would all be THROWN AWAY. This is absolutely the most inhumane policy I have ever encountered at a restaurant. For the owners to feel that it is okay to waste food that was already paid for simply to deter folks from ordering multiple rounds. We had only ordered one round and did not ask for anything extra. I feel management is obviously oblivious to the concept of conservation and ethical conduct. As there are hundreds of homeless people living right outside their door, I think they can make better use of their resources. I would hope they put this ridiculous policy in writing on the menu or have the waiter/ hostess clearly state this policy before you order.
The bar downstairs is good
What a fun place. Food was great too. Good small plates/sharing options. Not busy on a Saturday night was a bonus. It's off the beaten path and that was fine for us. Tequila bar downstairs was a great added bonus. We liked the potstickers, crab guacamole, and sushi. Mushroom flat bread was a bit off. Fun place for going out with friends.
Great food, nice fusion of two cuisines. Very creative. they can improve their service tho.
Good asian-mexican fusion. The guac with crab meat is soo good and so are the hot pots (even tho one of the ones we ordered needed more seasoning). Drinks are overpriced, probably a good idea to get a buzz beforehand if you're trying to help the wallet...
One of the best boozy brunches I've had in NYC!
Wow food, tried their restaurant week menu. Tacos and grilled chicken. Highly recommended food. Ambience was excellent
The cocktails are great. The menu has changed since my last visit, bit the quality and taste remain delightful to your tongue.
Zengo was great. Fantastic. Loved it
Food was great! Relaxed ambience, lovely staff. Looking forward to doing brunch here next.
Fantastic food in a stunning space. We tried Zengo a few months ago and left unimpressed. We went back on 12/8 (primarily to check out the tequila library) and were blown away by the service and the food. The Thai Chicken Empanadas were outstanding and the Shanghai Strip Steak is one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted. My wife ordered the Vegetarian Fried Rice and then suggested we dine family style and share our choices. Wait, you want me to share my strip stake with you in exchange for vegetarian fried rice?? I scoffed, but I was wrong to do so. Like everything else we ordered, it was delicious. We’ve dined all over NYC and had some amazing (and very pricey) meals. Zengo rates solidly in my top 5 NYC dining experiences. Zengo is the perfect spot to have an amazing meal without breaking the bank. I have never dined anywhere that offers more value for your money. I’m not sure what changed over the past six months, but the fact that Zengo has stepped up their game is clear. A truly remarkable experience! Lastly, do your self a favor and ask if Alberto is serving when you go. If he is, ask to be seated in his section. He is a gem and will take excellent care of you! We can’t wait to go back. Zengo is now at the top of our list of places to take our out of town guests.
Great place for brunch if you are looking for an unlimited option. Food pricing and selection on food and drinks. Make a reservation as it can be very busy. But well worth the wait!
I did brunch here one Saturday, it was okay. The decor was really awesome. There might have been a lot of people there but because it is a really large restaurant it felt pretty empty, so the atmosphere was kind of strange. Many of the dishes sounded really good but fell flat. A bunch of the hot dishes came out cold. I was really excited to try this place but wouldn't seak it out again.
ambience is good..u can actually go with a group and talk to each other and hear each other. i like their lunch menu better than dinner.
Nice food if you like fusion places. Big and nice venue as well. A bit pricey.
Great food, great place with lots of room.
Amazing food, delicious drinks and attentive service. You cannot ask for more for a brunch on a weekend. Free flowing food and drinks and they make sure neither your plate nor your glass is empty at any time!! Lychee mimosa and salmon Benedict were my favorite, but we loved all the food
Nice happy hour scene downstairs
One of my favourite NYC eats. Totally recommend the Duck Confit Daikon tacos. Yum!
Went to the bar downstairs. La Biblioteca de Tequila, (sp) Great atmosphere, great drinks, great service. I would definitely go again
Fantastic food. I had the Restaurant Week menu. The service was excellent, even though I showed up at 9:15 and they closed at 10:00. The coconut flan was amazing.
Great place for an office happy hour with creative small plates for sharing.
Sushi was made with day old rice. No thank you!
The waiter was nice and made sure we was ok
I had my 2/10/18 Birthday brunch here for 15 people, food was very good and drinks were great as well. Management did good job coordinating whole thing, lighting is dim but decor is astonishing. $45 unlimited food/drinks is great deal!
Private party room upstairs was better than anticipated....the food was fantastic.
Great place for brunch. You get your money's worth. Nice and clean place. Good music and atmosphere. The servers are awesome and they pay attention to you. I would go there again.
Spacious space that's good for a large group. Food taste ranged where dumplings were delicious, guac with crab meat was amazing then some meat dishes including chicken was way WAY over cooked. I had a cocktail that didn't live upto its name. Smoky Ginger didn't have any smoky flavor nor any ginger in it. Drink was too sweet to have any flavors. Stick to beer or pure sake if you are there.
Great vibe. Very good client service.
Wonderful mix of Latin and Asian tastes. Very attentive staff. Not cheap, but not unreasonable, especially given how gorgeous the space is.
I went to biblioteca which is the downstairs of Zengo and had the best time. The bartender James was super knowledgeable and learned me a lot about tequila and mezcal that im not an expert of. Well now i can say i am. Just like a librairy doesto you the biblioteca lounge was a learning point for my taste buds. I loved the riazul that had a beautiful taste of the smell of vanilla and flowers. I tried a 2 months old to a year tequila that was aged in a whiskey baril. It came in from a pretty interesting looking bottle. The mescal old fashion was super interesting too. I dont remember ever having that until the bartender James mentionned it. I was like:" what?!" I had rye and bourbon old fashion but never mezcal old fashion
Nice spot for brunch a lot of food , good drinks
A wonderful combination of Latin Asian flavors creating and wonderful Fusion in the heart of midtown east. Their lunch Prix fixe menus are the best bargain you can get for lunch in Midtown and their tofu and angry Zengo roll are my favorite. The environment is very upbeat at times a little too noisy and the drinks are very very original.
Great eating experience with a very loud atmosphere. The food was delicious although the plates were small that makes you want to try a bit of everything. Overall I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back.
Had our work holiday party. It was great. Staff was friendly, drinks were great, decor and ambiance was beautiful and the food was delicious.
Great service and Great food!!
Great food & drinks! Dined for a birthday brunch, they served our large group very well without mishaps. I'll go back for sure.
Everything is amazing! Beautiful interior design, the cuisine is not only delicious and inventive but it is art. Great prices for lunch and unlimited brunch!
Had the bottomless brunch and was able to try every item on the menu, and it was a great experience.
Decor is great. Wait staff were courteous. Food was decent. Thought the coconut shrimp were over cooked, making the shrimp taste pretty bad, like rubber. Tuna was fantastic. The medium rare skirt steak was more medium well so that's a huge negative not knowing how to prepare a steak. The worst was the 20 minutes wait from end of entree to getting the dessert.
Great place for brunch 50$ all you can eat and drink
I took my family here for dinner. We had many different dietary requirements including vegetarian and allergies. Zengo was able to provide a meal for everyone. My entire family enjoyed their meal.
Great food. Fun atmosphere. Creative drinks. Good for an evening with friends or a business lunch.
Great brunch food, great drinks, great service until they abruptly decide they're done with you and take away your food while you're still eating it. I'll stick with friendlier restaurants.
The food was excellent!! Andrew, our server, was knowledgable, friendly and attentive. Being a native New Yorker, I was thrilled and delighted to find such a jewel not far from Grand Central. When visiting NYC, come check it out!
Was there for lunch today with a friend. We ordered the Bento Box. My friend got the chicken and I asked for the seared salmon. Both dishes were over cooked and burnt around the edges. We sent the salmon back but the second time around was no better. I asked if they had changed the chef. The vegetables served were basically broccoli stems which looked stale. The papaya salad was soggy and old, perhaps left over from the previous day. The restaurant was basically empty so no excuse for us to be served burnt and stale food! For $22.00 the Bento Box was not worth it! The manager gave us a small discount but just hope we don't get sick from eating some burnt and stale food!
Loveeeed the ambiance and decor of this place! Came here for a team lunch and was not disappointed. The fusion on the menu was unusual but welcomed as a fellow Puerto Rican. Though, I did play it safe with the Carne Asada sanguich and White Sangria. Also pictured is some sort of veg noodle, which looked more flavorful than it tasted. It was missing every spice, including salt. Go all in and get the prix-fixe for lunch, looked delicious as well!
Happy hour downstairs in the library is amazing. Not too crowded and easy to talk, drink, and snack. Dont get a bottle during happy hour. Cheaper by the glass. They have a heavy hand with the wine which is great. Great after work happy hour spot.
Cool arcade in Echo Park that serves up solid food with good selection of beer, a lot of space and enough games to keep ya mashing for hours. Always good vibes when I'm in here and 4 player X-Men with the double screen doesn't hurt either... They even have Tapper in excellent condition too.
The food was okay, nothing over the top for the prices they charge but definitely worth trying.Just a tip, you might as well eat from their regular menu which will amount to the same price for restaurant week if you are interested. The tuna tacos are definitely recommended. The empanadas, not so much. They were pretty dry. The sushi is also nothing special so definitely not worth ordering.
Great brunch. Just too much food. Great service.
Good food. Margaritas were very good but the customer service can improve a bit.
Great fusion food and vibes. There are three bars, one on each of the three levels. Wait staff are very hospitable.
Good service with a nice ambiance. Menu is a bit limited, but Sunday brunch seems to make up for it.... overall great place, nice vibe.
Wonderful food. Very fresh and original. We had a large party and they were very attentive.
Great Asian pear salad and vegetarian sandwich.
It was good, but service was lacking
Great for Brunch. Unlimited plates and drinks for two hours.
Beautiful place nicely decorated. The food was good but nothing out of this world. I orderred from their gluten free menu but seems like they failed to follow my request. I feel very sick now.
my boyfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing Sunday brunch here, Unlimited food and drinks for 2 hours and the services was great. Our cups of unlimited margaritas and sangrias were never empty!
Food is always great, they are always quick with the refill for bottomless brunch and they are always good to you when it’s your birthday. Very accommodating.
Excellent service, delicious food, great atmosphere for family or a group of friends. A lot of bang for your buck! Totally worth it!
Fantastic ambience: loved the decor. Located in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Choice of tasty veg & non-veg starters. The collection of non-American beers was really wide, and we got to try out some interesting new Japanese beers. The collection of liqueurs available was also excellent, with a couple of Asian liqueurs that we had never heard of. We couldn't stay for a full dinner, but there's always next time. All in all, a wonderful experience. Will definitely visit again.
Amazing brunch, I actually ate way too much food which I have never said before. Couldn't ask for anything better.
Zengo is my number one go to brunch spot whenever visiting NYC. So much so that it is now the anniversary / birthday destination for my girlfriend and me every year. Unlimited brunch foods and cocktails are just the tip of the iceberg at Zengo when you add in the beautiful interior, the energetic atmosphere, the friendly and attentive staff - and most importantly - the incredible selection of food they have on their menu. I'm embarrassed it's taken so long to write a review for Zengo having visited every time I'm in NYC the past several years.
Excellent decor and ssrvice. Very good choices for the restaurant week 'special' menu. Very tasty food. Highly recommend!
We got the unlimited food and drinks. I thought they were gonna jip us with slow service but the service was super quick. We were able to get in multiple orders before our time limit was up. The food was delicious, creative, and leaning more Latin than Asian.
overall it was a subpar experience I was quite disappointed with the service the level of cooking and the laziness and lack of attention of our server. the chicken I ordered was dry and overcooked my friend ordered a medium rare steak and it looked exactly the same as the well-done which my other friend ordered. the server neglected to give me a glass of water as well as a plate and it took me asking several times for this to be rectified. finally splitting the bill amongst a party of over ten turned out to be an over-complicated affair taking over 35 minutes because the server was too lazy to split our bill. In the end they ended up splitting it anyway even though they said they couldn't split it. I would not recommend this place, although the decor and the furnishings are quite nice and it is very spacious and there. Overpriced service and mediocre food at best.
The food was excellent and the drinks just kept on coming. Also, it a really nice restaurant.
Beautiful, great selection of drinks. Great food.
surprised the hell out of me! super nice! take someone here when you're trying to impress
Desert was good chocolate tres leche, small variety of apps and main courses
I went for restaurant week! Had a 3 course meal for about 42 dollars. Everything was delicious! Service was impeccable! I would definitely go back on a regular day, considering the price wasnt as expensive as I thought it was going to be.
Really good food.
I was very impressed the staff spoke English and Spanish they served you to perfection you could not ask for more
My review is for happy hour at the bar - mediocre experience. Drinks taste like juice and bartenders were flippant. Good prices but not worth it. Can’t comment on the food - didn’t have it.
Delicious food and amazing ambience! Their brunch is well worth every penny! Be sure to make reservations, its hard to have seatings for walk ins
Decent place to have lunch or dinner. Good crowd and service.
Unlimited brunch, everything was yummy. It was served family style.
Drinks are nice and strong but the food is not enough the portions are tiny (Biblioteca)! Don't come on an empty stomach.
This is by far my favorite boozy brunch spot. The wide variety of food in addition to being able to switch back and forth between multiple drinks has be coming back. It's spectacular and Anthony is a fantastic waiter!
Been here a few times for brunch. They do a great vegetarian brunch with unlimited drinks. Food was great so were the drinks
So very New York. Food and ambiance. Food and drinks are a delicious blend of Asian and Latin flavors.
Went there for their brunch on a Sunday. The brunch is 2 hrs unlimited food and drinks. My friends and I went to town, the food was good, the choices after a plenty, the drinks not so much. We enjoyed ourselves, fill our bellies and drank our fill of the mimosas since that was the only one that tasted like it had alcohol. I would go here again.
Came here for Saturday brunch with a group of 9 and was very pleased. Our waitress was amazing with providing the bottomless food and drinks - we definitely felt that we ate and drank our money's worth. Some of the food could use improving but most dishes were delicious and the drinks were great. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to being back here in the future!
Very nice place, unique and interesting menu.
Get decor, great food. We had a table full and every meal was delicious!
This is officially my new favorite brunch spot!! The staff and waiter were extremely nice and attentive. Hostess set me at table before the whole party arrived just so I can get the full 2 hrs of the bottomless goods. The ambiance and the food were amazing! The choices are abundant, deff recommending this spot to everyone.
Very nice, good good, service good
Came for weekend brunch. Really enjoyed the small plates approach to brunch. Especially enjoyed the bacon and the ceviche. Had blood orange mimosas, which were delightful. Great service. Would come here again.
I went here for mothers day brunch and was not pleased they advertised a gift and nothing was given to us. They ran out of chocolate waffles at 130pm? Theyre meatballs were full of salt and the churros undercooked. The drinks all tasted the same very diluted. Definitely not a pleasant experience, will not be returning. Save your money and go somewhere else. They also cant make you anything besides brunch menu. You would think because its mothers day they’d have a child friendly option, zero nada no french fries nothing. Only good thing i can say is the decor of this place is beautiful and our server was pretty pleasant.
The brunch was sooo good.
The prices were fair for the food they offered. The food was good - nothing to rave about but as expected. I ordered a bento box with pan seared salmon. The salmon was a little dry. The decor was attractive and I went during a slow time so service was quick. Perfect spot for a lunch meeting.
I enjoyed my meal here. I met up with a very close friend that I had not seen in almost a year. I had a feeling we were going to be pressured to leave quickly after our meal, and was pleasantly surprised that the waitress was more than happy to allow us to take our time. The food was really good (outside of the appetizers) and the service was also quite good. We all really enjoyed our main entrees and also our desserts. However, we ordered a sushi roll for an appetizer that was barely edible. We also ordered a shrimp oriented appetizer that was soaked in what I believe they have been soy sauce. It basically was a salt bomb. However, no harm no foul, as the rest of the meal was very enjoyable and as I mentioned, the service was very good.. I would not hesitate to go back to this restaurant.
