I ordered the steak & eggs here, and by god was I blown away. That steak was the juiciest, most flavorful piece of meat I’ve eaten. It’s as if Zeus himself cooked it to godly perfection. It had the perfect, crispy seared outside, and the juicy, flavorful inside you’d expect from a well-made steak. Be sure to get medium rare!! We also got the pancakes, which were nice a fluffy like clouds in a sea of fruit. We also got potatoes, which were at the perfect level of tenderness, and pizza, which was pretty good (although I would personally put all the other stuff we got over the pizza). The decor was very pretty, very nicely lit. I liked the fruit jar display. Service was excellent, although a little slow (seemed like a busy night). Fair warning though, if you have a reservation, they probably won’t seat your party unless you’re all there.

Nice Stephen Starr restaurant which reminds me of Jones’ in Philly. I ordered the quiche and a side of potatoes while my mate ordered pancakes, eggs, and sausage. The quiche was good but a bit charred as were the pancakes. They gave us a birthday cheesecake which was really noteworthy and delicious.

I agree with the some of criticism detailing the lack of patience in the waiters. Not sure if they are short-staffed, but the waiter wouldn't wait for us to finish our orders. The chicken roast soup was freezing cold and none of the hotel staff seemed apologetic about it. Both the service and food were mediocre.

I went for Sunday brunch and had their famous burger. I had lowered my expectations because I always get frustrated with these famous foods and places. This was an exception. It really is amazing. Most likely the best burger I ever had.

Very disappointed. Went for dinner. Ordered the Steak. It was very undercooked so sent it back. The waitress took the steak off the table, including the already cut pieces from my girlfriends plate to bring back to the kitchen. Came back with the same exact steak, which was unexpected. It was no different. Sent it back again. Would not go back.

The food is nothing out of this world, the salad was bitter, the pasta came undercooked. I modified my reservation because they wouldn’t receive 6 people at 9:30 P.M so they changed it for 10:45 P.M... when we arrived they warned us that kitchen closed at 11;00 P.M and the server was rushing us to order at some point it became rude. Don’t give the possibility to reserve 15 minutes before closing if you can’t handle it. AVOID

He did not really approach our table unless it was for the food so I’ll say bad customer service. The food That I ordered was average. But everything else was okay so do I recommend this place yeah . Had dinner there last night. Room in gorgeous. Daughter ordered the duck. It was good. I had the lamb and sad to say the worst dishl I have ever had. I actually spit out a piece of meat. It was charred and bitter. The server had come by a few seconds after serving our meal asking how everything is. At that point I had only had a bit of the vegetables so said great but man oh man my daughter couldn't even swallow the bite I asked her to try. The bread is delicious. We shared the duck. The bus person came by. Asked if we were done. I said yes that was terrible nodding to my full plate. She just gathered up the dishes and left. The server came by asked about dessert. Pfffft no thanks. Brought our bill. Never asked again how everything was so we just got the hell outta there with a very bad taste in my mouth. Pizza looked good at the table next to us. We won't be back.

Reviewing after two meals at Upland - my first was at lunchtime, which was a great meal of a shared burger and pizza. Dinner is where Upland really shines though. Dish after dish we were wowed by the great flavors and textures accomplished in these dishes. The prawns in crispy rice as well as the setan chicken, which comes leg, foot and all, were both absolutely tremendous dishes. Excellent for sharing, excellent for group satisfaction and shared appreciation for a meal. Highly recommend.

I love brunches. I try to find places which serve the best brunch in the city. While doing my research, this popped up as one of the best brunches. Decided to make a reservation and head over on a Saturday. The food was fantastic. Ordered the Benedict and the pancakes. Both were delightful. No complains whatsoever.

We made a reservation for 1045 thinking it’s open late to go after a live show but within 5 minutes of sitting we were told the kitchen closes at 11 so we need to order now. The bread they bring out is delicious, as was the skirt steak. However, the Caesar salad is bitter, not sure if it was the dressing or the type of lettuce, and the bucatini cacio e pepe had way too much pepper. We went on a recommendation from a friend but I’m not sure I’d go back unless I can make a meal of the bread.

Absolutely wonderful service!! We went for lunch and started with the beef tartar and baby gem salad. Two starters that carved the way for a great meal. We also got some cocktails that really hot the spot. Not too boozy or too sweet, the perfect balance. For entrees we got the Estrella and roasted porchetta sandwich. We were able to finish the meal full but not stuffed. Will definitely be returning!!

Really really good and unique food - we had the fluke crudo, the green zebra pizza, the salmon bowl, the Cacio e Pepe, and the little gem salad. While each dish was really delicious, the green zebra pizza was so unique and yum. Their desserts are great too - I really liked the apple pie sundae, perfect balance of sweet and kind of tangy from the fruit.

This was definitely a restaurant highlight for our time in New York. The restaurant is very stylish, and the food is absolutely spot on delicious. I liked the service and decor. Drinks were fun and unique, but now we come down to the food, and to me, if it justifies the price. And I was disappointed. We started off with the crazy mushroom thing, and it looked awesome. And while it was a rather unique dish, the flavor was just ok. It like eating fried leaves crossed with an oyster mushroom. Having the cheese for dip didn't add anything. For dinner, we got the branzino. It was all right. Came out lukewarm for my taste. Finally for dessert we had the cookies. I think they got them down the block from some store and charged an arm and a leg for butter and flour. $7 cappuccino...was definitely not worth 7. Anyway, I May come back for the drinks, but the meal , for the price that it was ...eh. I think they try not overpower the flavors of their dishes, and keep a neutrality. But in doing so, the flavors are just coming out average.

Friendly service and decent food. Great brunch spot, especially for the donuts! Some of the dishes are on the smaller side, such as the eggs in hell, especially given the pricing. We visited Upland for lunch. We were warned that it gets a bit busy at lunch, so a reservation was recommended. After having the food, it's not hard to see why. We arrived early for our reservation and the restaurant was mostly empty, but it filled up in a matter of 10-12 minutes. We had the quiche and cacio e pepe. Both were absolutely phenomenal. The price is representative of the high quality of ingredients and precision each dish is executed with. The service was absolutely fantastic. Our server was attentive and aware that he might be interrupting, so he very politely excused himself when approaching the table. Stop by, and be ready for a great dining experience.

My wife's shrimp was undercooked. She sent it back and it came back still undercooked. The Manager did remove it an comp 2 glasses of wine. Was a bit disappointing for a Stephen Start run restaurant. Upland is a Great Spot! We have had several incredible meals in the past few weeks, i am not one to write reviews, but with Upland, it is well deserved! The staff in the restaurant is super friendly and very professional in their quality of service. We met the manager Brooks and Jen and they are very nice and warm. The Chef, Justin Smilie is GREAT! Chef came out and asked if we were enjoying our dishes, which we thought were incredible. He is an excellent chef, he and his kitchen staff create delicious meals and surprise pairings and nice sized portions (very rage to have this in NYC with so many fussy places). We especially loved the Hen of The Woods Mushrooms, the Crusted Cod and the Gem salad, which was so fresh and crisp, it was awesome! And the desserts, WOW! LOVE The Chocolate cake, it is Fabulous and we also loved the Shortbread ice cream (strawberry) sandwich. We highly recommend Upland for Dinner and Lunch, its a wonderful go-to spot.

Excellent service, very good food, the staff goes out of their way to insure your experience is positive and your needs are met. There is pride in their product and in their work without getting too preachy about their values and philosophies. One issue is that the room gets quite loud so quiet intimate conversations, whether personal or business, my be hard to have. Definitely recommend despite all the competition this restaurant has in the neighborhood.

What a pleasant surprise. Beautiful environment with the best ambiance I've seen in a while. Nicely decorated . Feels cozy & warm. The view to the open kitchen is very chic. The staff is very friendly & accommodating. Need to look a little cleaner but great staff none the less. The food, for lunch was delicious! The falafel was yummy but the pasta, wow! Fried Chicken sandwiche was tasty & the fries just perfect. The pickle was pretty bad. Soft & not really pickled. Can't wait to try their dinner & brunch menus. & be aware, 20 day in advance reservations!

Favorite restaurant in Nyc ! Impeccable and friendlt service and the food is consistently amazing. We go to the restaurant at least once a month . Favorites: cesar salad, steak , cod, pizzas and Whiskey Tango as a drink . Enjoy !

We went for brunch. Love the atmosphere and decorations. Staff was superb, helpful and attentarive. Food was excellent - we had the quiche, avocado and egg sandwich and side of potatoes. Loved that the coffee cream was served hot and frothed, nice touch. This place hits the mark.

Cool place. Got some brunch here on a weekend trip to the city. Had a Italian sour to drink and a burger to eat. A little pricey ($20 burger) but was worth it when considering the quality and service. Would strongly recommend.

Pretty good place for food, I'd come back. We were able to get a spot for two at the bar otherwise it was a 20 minute wait on 4th of July at 1pm. We got the eggs Benedict and the fried chicken sandwich which were both really good. For drinks the naughty harry was ok, I'd try something different next time. It was light, airy and a little sour. Might have been better with an added creamy component.

I came here for a birthday dinner for a friend and we both thought the meal was just okay. I got the lobster busiate and she got the pappardelle. Mine was flavourful, but I have had better pastas before. The decor is really cool though and the wine was good. I would be willing to come back and try other things.

Fantastic Manhattan dining with a great ambiance. My wife had the salmon and it was, hands down, the best cooked piece of fish we have ever had, a perfect medium rare with just the right amount of flake. I had the skirt steak and it was excellent - the char in particular was inimitable. I also highly recommend the hot fuzz cocktail. It is a peach and whiskey or no with a surprising heat at the end, but altogether enjoyable. If you are looking for a new fine dining experience Uplan is definitely worth a look.

Great pick for Sunday brunch. They have both breakfast and lunch items. We went with spinach soufflé, buttermilk pancakes, and side of sausage. Usually it’s hard to distinguish pancakes at most breakfast joints but these may have been the best I’ve ever eaten. HUGE portions - ordered way too much for 2 people, so plan accordingly. Nit picking here, but only disappointment was a mediocre Bloody Mary. Beautiful decor and excellent service. Highly recommend.

Went with my dad for breakfast, the pancakes were extremely filling and delicious! I normally eat a lot but could barely finish one, it was so delicious and giant haha. Weird lamps but clean and excellent service!

Pricey HEAVY food. A place to be seen, trendy ambiance. Interesting but pricey wine list. Margarita pizza was decent, duck wings were the size of drumsticks, spaghetti auth clam sauce didn't need the bread crumbs

We went for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The wait was about an hour (we didn't have to wait on site, we wandered and got a text when our table was ready). It was worth the wait. We had an assortment of eggs Benedict, omelettes and baked goods. A major highlight were the salads. I know that might seem like an odd thing to highlight but both the fresh garden salad and the Caesar salad were revolutionary. Great service and a great atmosphere. One of my new go tos for brunch.

Lots of good food here. We enjoyed the caesar salad, fluke crudo, duck wings (so good!), Cacio e Pepe, spaghetti con vongole, monkfish and lamb shoulder mains. We did not love the shishito peppers - possibly because we're used to them blistered and limey. The service felt a bit off. Appetizers arrived before our cocktails. Our second round of cocktails arrived when we were almost done. Although we didn't opt for dessert, it was a long wait before our dessert order was taken. They did send us a complimentary dessert for slow drink service (without any complaining from us).

Food was great, but service was rushed. Half the salad is still uneaten, and the hot pizza arrives. Then I'm still chewing my last piece of pizza, and the pastas arrive. There's no sense of leisure. Server was good though.

I ate in their reserved downstairs space for a large client dinner and everything about this place is phenomenal. The service, the food, the atmosphere and the wine. I'll definitely be going back here for both personal and work occasions. Couldn't recommend this place more highly.

Loved the hostess! She was fun, and knew her stuff. The place was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time. We had pizza, which was just fine. There were lots of other choices on the menu. I just felt like the waiter was a little in a hurry, and it was a bit loud to really hold a conversation, since it was so packed. But again everyone was having fun!

I am torn on this one because it is a very fine dining experience. The food is quite good. I have had less satisfying experiences with the door staff and bar experience.
