You may have noticed that the average of ratings that it reaches is virtually the highest, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the assessment is very faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put opinions when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Greek restaurant.
The food is really great and the long line moves pretty quickly, but maybe a little TOO quickly. Got back to my office with my food only to realize they forgot the rice in my chicken breast platter. A little disappointed, so docked a star.
I miss working near this truck - great service and great specials
No other gyro can compare!
Sometimes the lines get a little long but I promise it goes by fast. This is the best food truck in the area. Combo(lamb and chicken) rice platter with the works is what you want to order. Plenty of delicious food and very well worth the $7-$8 you spend.
Delicious
Good food for very good price and service is very good!
Had the pita sandwich with zucchini balls (vegetarian option) and it was sooo good.
Fantastic food that's definitely worth the $7-8 you spend. Highly recommend the souvlaki skewer rice platter.
The Hercules is the way to go if you're hungry.
Good Greek food on the cheap. When it's nice out and you go there during lunch expect a 20-30 minutes waiting in line, sometimes even longer, but once your order is in, it's ready in minutes.
Food is good and the service is fast once even when there is a long line.
Fast food but good quality and tastes great :) hit the spot!
My poke bowl was not worth 15$ my tuna was luke warm and the macadamia nuts were overpowering and chunky. Also FYI the "spicy af" sauce is just sriracha. I wouldnt spend my lunch money on getting bowl'd again
I've seen you guys out there for a while and long lines but never had a chance to try your food. Recently I ordered simple chicken pita. I didnt expect this to be Michelin quality but I neither wanted chicken full of salt. Even after throwing chicken away i couldnt finish pita bread. Just so salty. Speaking of chicken i was so confused if i had chicken inside. Tasted like it was not a chicken. First experience and it was my last time ordering from you. I dont know if after 3PM you dont really care about quality of the food for not rush hour. To me it was the worst experience from food trucks so far. Ive never had to throw away food.
Phenomenal food. Great employees. Love it
Best Greek food
great sauce and hearty meal at an awesome price
The food is delicious. You are going to love it.
Great food, but lines always super long
Great truck to end the visit on. Tons of great food for a good price.
General note as many people have said there is definitely a line if you go during lunch time. I waited about 20 minutes when i went around 1pm. Once I got to the counter i ordered my Gyro platter with the works. It only took about a minute to get my food which was quite refreshing after waiting in line for 20 minutes. Once you open the container you see the beautifully plated food which a nice balance of colors to make it extremely eye appealing. The food itself was cooked very well. The pork souvlaki was extremely savory and flavorful. The rice was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The tzatziki sauce sauce complements the meat very well and also takes some of the heat away from the hot sauce. Which the hot sauce itself its very flavorful without packing too much kick. The onions were cooked very well but i wish there was a little more flavor there, same with the lettuce and tomato. Overall the meal was very satisfying and for under 10 dollars you get a huge amount of food. I will definitely consider going again but probably at an earlier or later time because it seems that there will always be long lines during lunch time.
I am greek, so i definitely know how greek food should taste. But this souvlaki is A M A Z I N G!! I don't know if this sounds akward, but i think it was the best i have ever eaten!! And not to mention the orange pie they have…. Heaven!! Good work uncle gussys!!! Thank you!
Good food and good portions for the money
Great service, great food,... I swear it's worth every penny.
Delicious!
Great place to go to a food truck with a place to wash your hands. Be aware of where you park your car and don't leave anything out, not even a dirty napkin.
If I could give an extra star I would! This place does everything right: GREAT customer service (they always make a point to remember my name and order), QUALITY and QUANTITY (I get the $8 platter and I always have leftovers and it's so delicious. I am also really sensitive to any kind of pesticides so I know the ingredients are high quality). AND not only is the food truck amazing they also do a really QUICK and EASY CATERING service. Thank you Uncle Gussy's, I'll see you soon!!
Best food truck in mid town...
The line speaks for itself. The food is authentic and delicious. The tzatziki sauce is a must have and the hot sauce is amazing. Gyro is delicious and the fries you must try at least once. Do get the salad when you want to try something lighter, no regrets.
Unbelievably awesome. Love love love their food.
Fantastic.
Very good food and service at a reasonable price
Best coffee in the area!
Excellent food with service that is just as great! Don't be intimidated if you see a long line, they move it in as little as 10 minutes.
I've walked past this cart around noon or 1pm and seen a line that stretches down the block to 50th street. Do yourself a favor and come around 2pm like I do. If this is your first rodeo, step up to the counter when it's your turn and ask for the "vegetarian platter with the works." It'll be $6 and taste like a world of spicy, creamy, goodness with veggies on a bed of warm yellow rice and BIG chunks of feta cheese sprinkled on top.
Best food truck on Park Ave! The food is delightful and totally worth waiting in the long line for! The greek fries are a definitely must to get. I've never had anything on the menu that I wouldn't order again. Also always order extra tzataki sauce!
Amazing catering experience that Uncle Gussy's just delivered super fresh and delicious food to an event for over 50 people. It was a resounding success! Planning, placing and delivery of the food was seamless and headache free. Very friendly and professional. Thank you!
Good street food but the line is HUGE.
great food for cheap!!
Very good and well priced. The guy that runs the truck is a class act. Always extremely nice to deal with and patient given the crowds.
Nick is the man
Best Greek on the street!

It’s a food truck right on the corner, really nothing bad to say about it. Been going here for years, food is consistently good at a great price. During peak lunch hours 11:30-1:30 expect a line, but know the wait will be worth it.
Nice guys.. Cash only
Greek food is good for swimmers high protein fast energy food grape leaves are good...
Uncle Gussy's is my favorite food truck. Don't be intimidated by the long line. It moves fast and you get your food extremely fast after you order. The portions are big and the food is delicious. I make it a mission to go there at least once a week.
Very delicious
Great food and service!
Friendly staffs, nice and clean.
I stumbled upon this place right now and wow love his passion for what he's doing!! You go man!! I recommend this spot to anybody! Great food great service just have some patience :) he's alone and I give him props for dealing with so much drunks. Delicious ! :)
Great food truck. The food is good (specifically the gyro platter) and plentiful for a reasonable price considering its Midtown location. The service is somewhat slow by food truck standards - I had to wait around 10 minutes for my order, but I will concede that it was a busy time for them during the 2PM lunch rush.
The line can get insanely long, so I prefer to go here during its off peak hours. Price seems a tad bit higher than other food truck food, but freshness and abundant of food more than makes up for it.
Had the greek salad with the grilled chicken breast and it was delicious! And only for $10!!!!!!
The best Greek food truck in Midtown, followed closely by Little Zeus
Don't be scared by the long line, the guys in the truck move FAST and you won't be standing around long. Be ready to give the guy at the window your order before he finishes with the person in front of you because he'll be ready to take it while they're still paying. I've been sad to see the last bite go every time I've eaten here. Good prices for midtown and great food; can't go wrong here.
One of my fav carts in the city
Solid performance every time Whether the food or the service. Nico always has a smile and remembers your order from last time even if it’s been a few weeks.
The line says it all! Great portions, priced well. If you order the Gyro, ask for "extra crispy" you won't regret it.
BEST AMAZING GREEK FOOD...FROM NIKKO ..&..NIKKO I MEED TO SPEAK TO PLEASE TEXT. ME BACK...A.S.A.P.
On a recent rainy day I tried this food truck and it hit the spot! I got the gyro platter which came with thick white sauce and some serious hot sauce. I love to eat so I would have loved some extra meat but otherwise it was some great food that hit the spot.
great food for the price
Fast, cheap, tasty
Great Greek street food!
Our lunch was so good several from our group went back for lunch again the next day
Phenomenal and authentic Greek food in the heart of Midtown. The average lunch is about $8 and you get a ton of food. Don't skip the Greek fries - they're super crispy and well seasoned, and only cost $3.50.
Wow what a well oiled machine this place is. I went probably during the peak lunch period. I joined a line of about a dozen, and it only took about ten minutes to get to the front. Then my food was ready a minute after that. I ordered a pork souvlaki pita from a nice, friendly dude who was handling what seemed to be a very fast paced and stressful environment admirably. It was hella yummy. Nice hunks of tasty pork smushed into what you'd expect. Packaged well and not messy. I would have liked something more substantial for $7 though. I'm still hungry. Perhaps the more expensive items on the menu would be more filling though.
Amazing food dished out every single time! Wifey and I love it
Give you a great amount of protein for your meal. Good lunch spot. Affordable, tasty and filling. Fyi, The tzatziki sauce is too garlicky for my taste though.
Uno de los mejores food trucks de NYC
One of my favorite places for lunch in midtown east. The owner, Nick, is a really nice guy and cares about his customers. Always a line down the block, but it moves very quickly. Once you put your order in, your food comes out in less than a minute.
Very good Greek food truck. Food tastes fresh and is well seasoned. The meat tastes like it was cooked over a fire like a BBQ. Fries are very crispy. The white sauce is very tasty. If you are a garlic lover like me this sauce is really good. Make sure to check if there are any daily specials they are usually very good. Also they have a website so you can order ahead instead of waiting in the very long line.
OH.EM.GEE.... every time I come here I fall more in love. I work on 42nd and every time I want to go I'm like do I realllllly want to walk 10 blocks there and back.. that's like 20 blocks and that's a long way...ehhh... but I'm always glad I do. It's even worth missing the free leftovers from the catered lunch meeting in my office. I usually get the combo platter with the works and it's amazing. The Tzatizki sauce is everything I want in life. I want them to bottle it so I can buy it and bring it home to eat with everything... or just rub it all over myself. The rice is tender and flavorful, tomatoes fresh and delicious, onions were sweet, hot sauce gave a nice little kick... And then the topper is you mean to tell me this whole big box was only $6? Shut the front door....
Great Greek food . Can't miss it if u re in midtown
Fresh food as always, friendly staff
Undeniably best greek food truck in the northeast and midatlantic corrisor. Tzaziki sauce matches all but the ones I've had in Greece. Affordable and friendly staff make the meal that much better
Really tasty greek food in the heart of New York!
Consistently slinging high quality, authentic and, delicious Greek food. I come here every day!
Long lines
I've long fantasied about retiring to Greece; buying a house by the sea, living a relaxing life with all the gyros and souvlaki. Instead, I find myself weaving through the chaos of midtown pedestrian traffic, in an attempt to get the closest thing to that fantasy. Yes, in an ironic twist, the best way to Greek tranquility is through New York City chaos, but at the end of that chaos is Greek food to rival that of Athens in it's prime. Uncle Gussy's food truck serves up the typical Greek fare, offering gyro meat, chicken slouvaki and the most amazing Greek fries. Though the line can look insurmountable, the friendly staff moves through orders with Herculean efficiency and friendliness. Although the line stretches down half of the avenue on a good day, I'm usually not waiting more than ten minutes before I get that delicious blue box in my hands.
Affordable and delicious street food in NYC. Definitely give it a go.
I love uncle gussy the only thing im usually on the run & the line be all the way to Grand Central!!
Great food
Muito bom. Porções generosas e barato. Só tem que comer na rua.
If you enjoy street food, must stop destination
awesome food..
I was meeting my BF for lunch one weekday near his office, and he recommended Uncle Gussy's for Greek. I could always use some Greek food, and this place was also on my bookmarks list, so it was perfect. We arrived a little after 1 pm and waiting about 15 minutes (according to BF, there's always a line). We decided to go halfsies on the Hercules (yellow rice, Greek salad, pita bread, and fries) with chicken, and added a side of lamb. This was more than enough for two people, especially since they don't skimp on the meat. We were still full at dinnertime. I prefered the lamb over the chicken because the chicken has this charred flavor I don't really care for, which my BF loves, so if you like barbecued stuff, this one's for you. The more you eat the platter, the heavier it feels, and the saltier it tastes, but the Greek salad definitely helps cut that. It's worth feeling like a beached whale afterwards, but just make sure you have plenty of water available - you'll need it. Tip - cash only!
Fast and great! Efharesto!
Pork souvlaki in a pitta just like Chania in Crete... couldn't have been better! $8
Great place, always busy, very polite, quick service, little high price, good options. I would definitely recommend their falafel. Really tasty!
Very large portions. The food is pretty decent but not spectacular for cart food.
Great taste
Great place , cheap and amazing food!
I work around the area and we probably do Uncle Gussy's on Fat Friday. I love the souvlaki platter with white sauce! There is garlic flavor in the sauce and like it
Great lunch spot! Tasty and inexpensive. The only downside is the long lines they get during the lunch rush hour. I always get the combo (chicken and lamb) with the works (sauteed onions, hot sauce and white sauce) over rice. Delicious!
Love this truck. Get the chicken breast, rice, the works, plus feta. Just be careful because the line is diesel
First time there. The food was good. In my opinion Greek gyros are definitely better than halal. Please don't call it white sauce, it is tzatziki sauce.
One of the best carts in midtown. Get the lamb Greek salad or platter. You'll not be disappointed.
I got the combo platter and it was fresh, hot and delicious. It’s pricey for a food truck but the food is excellent so it’s worthy. I’ve had the regular gyro and that was my least favorite because of the portion for your money. The Combo Platter with chicken and gyro meat accompanied with rice and salad. The Hercules takes it up a notch with Greek fries and Greek salad with feta and olives
Uncle Gussy's is a prime model of how food trucks and restaurants should be run. They provide consistent staples of generous servings of high-quality food for a very reasonable price. The meat is always marinated then grilled to perfection. The yellow parboiled rice has zero grease and is always al dente. The salad greens are always fresh and picked up from local farms. One of my favorite staples is the chicken thigh over rice for $7. The tzatziki sauce is pure Greek yogurt and heavy on the garlic, unlike the watered down white sauce from nearby street carts. Their hot sauce made by Franky should be bottled - it's a mixture of Sriracha, Thai sweet chili sauce, and habaneros. My colleagues and I keep stashes at our desks, it's that good. Similar to the creativity in restaurants, Nicko and Mama put out specials every Tue and Thu. My favorite specials include: skirt steak (marinated in red wine), keftedes (beef balls in tomato sauce), kokkinisto (beef stew in tomato sauce), and porkchop and lemon potatoes. Due to the consistency and variety offered by their staples and specials, I am always able to round up a crew at work to hit Gussy's 2-3 times a week. In the summertime, the line can stretch to 60 deep. However, do not allow that to daunt you because you will be at the front within 15 minutes. In the event of popular specials, show up before 12:30 because they may run out. On one occasion, the nearby NFL office purchased all the porkchop specials by noon! Last but not least, Nicko will always take care of you. He is the epitome of outstanding customer relations!

Good food. Fast service.
The gyro platter is excellent. The food here is consistently good, no matter which day of the week it is or which time you go. The lines are usually long, but they move reasonably fast as the personnel in the truck are efficient.
Freshly cut tomatoes, fresh salad easily the best gyro I've ever had thank you
Best deal in town...also longest lines in town
This place has to be the best street food in NYC!! I have been a patron for 11 years and the food is always good. Fresh ingredients, cooked just right, sanitary, and bang for your buck.
The food was good
The best lunch I got while viziting NYC was Uncle Gussy's Souvlaki (hope I remember its spelling well). Love the sauce and Pita was just perfectly baked. And I didn't eat the whole portion as I was full already in the middle :) Thanks guys and keep it up!
AMAZING food! I love their sauce so much!
Other than the size of the dishes which is more than anyone should eat in one sitting, especially when you are going to sit at your desk for the rest of the day, this place has amazing food.
Perfection. Pork Souvlaki Hercules with the Works. Lemon Seltzer Water. If you also like to cook, buy the New York a la Cart cookbook by Alex Penfold and make Uncle Gussy's food at home.
One of my favorite things to do in San Francisco. The amazing food and atmosphere never fail to put me in a great mood. Want to specifically point out Heff's burger as one of my favorite spots. Heff himself is lovely and his burgers are to die for!
very good food at very good price. they use the good lettuce and tomato. i ordered the gyro pita and its very tasty. Has good flavor. not over salted, over greased, and over sauced like so many other gyros in the city. The line is loooooooong but they are quick. Very nice people too.
Great food truck, one of the best in NYC. You can see the food is good by the long lines everyday (don't worry though, they move fast, Nick is great). I always go with the pork souvlaki platter + the works (tzatziki, hot sauce, and grilled onions) but all options are good.
I love and can cook any and every food but when it comes to Uncle Gussys food truck nothing can compare. 100% the best greek food I have ever eaten
Long line but a short wait the employees move at lightning speed good prices and amazing food!
Yummy. Best gyro I have had outside of Athens Greece.
Food doesn't get any better, PERIOD. Loved it!!!!and keep loving it every time.
Five Stars is NOT ENOUGH for this review. My steak pita is simply The Best! The truck on Park Ave is the location to experience this Manhattan treat.
Very good Greek food. Line was long but it went very quickly.
Best Greek food I have had since leaving Santorini. Yum! Try the pork!!!
Amazing food! Best to go after 1PM because the line can be long during peak lunch time. This is the gyro greek salad. And it comes with a stuffed grape leaf.
My wife and I flew from Idaho to visit NYC for a week for Christmas and we came upon this place! Fantastic Greek Good! Well done and made with love for sure! I sat down with a nice warm platter one night and enjoyed the lights coming from down the street in Time Square. Well worth it!
Greek food that's delicious, cheap and quick. I got the combo platter: which comes with chicken, gyro, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce. The portion was large and I was properly stuffed after I finished my platter. As far as food trucks go, this is probably my favorite one in recent memory. The only thing I dislike is that it's a one mile trip from my workplace, but Uncle Gussy's is worth the walk in my book.
Ordered the gyro platter, the meat is delicious!! And the platter was $9, which is really affordable in America Standard (cause everything here is fraggin overpriced, even foodpanda is $8 and it doesn’t even taste anything like chinese food). And the portion is really nice, enough for a fill grown man’s lunch
Uncle Gussy's food truck on 51st & Park is the epitome of quality & deliciousness. The combination of quality & quantity is top notch. The food is honestly transformative and enlightening (not hyperbole). It is a breath of fresh air in the polluted, hectic, chaos of New York City. 10/10 would recommend.
Zucchini balls ftw
OMG! The Greek fries are amazing! Can't wait to try more!
I have lunch at this place at least once a week. I usually get the Greek Salad with Chicken or Combo (Lamb and Chicken). Recently the prices went up and the quality have dropped a little. Still a good lunch spot however with rising prices they need to maintain their service
Great job thanks you
There is honestly nothing better then NYC food trucks. And Gussy is a main stay. I have been getting lunch from him for almost 8 years. Chicken over rice with Greek and mild sauce.
Very consistent quality, and the line may look long at times but it always moves quick. Lamb rice the works.
This is by far the Best Gyro in Town! Price are very reasonable and the portions are plenty! I first tried their food at the wall st. Location and was hooked ever since! The workers are very friendly and accommodating. This is a must go to spot for delicious food! I will never go back to Halal Guys again, this food is hands down the best!
Don't let the long line scare you away. It moves fast and the food is absolutely worth it.
Best Greek truck in the city! Owner is super friendly as well which is a nice bonus!
There's a reason for the long line. Well worth the wait. Best lunch in town
One of my favourite places for lunch in midtown. Usually a long line but well worth it. The line moves much faster than one would expect. Great value for money and delicious gyros and fries. Greek salad is also excellent. Cash only.
Food is great, but sketchy delivery. I placed an order on Seamless and the order was immediately received. After waiting over an hour and a half, I tried calling them. The call went straight to voicemail. Then, I had Seamless try to contact them. They informed me that the restaurant was closed and not delivering. I've ordered from them before with no issues. Very strange.
The is the best food truck in Mid Town!
So simple yet so flavorful! Chicken is marinated in a Mediterranean spice blend and super tender. Perfect for a quick bite. Even if there is a line, it goes quick.
Soo good
Best Greek salad for under $9! You know how you can tell when something is made with love? This is the epitome of that!
Once this was the best deal in midtown. Now they've raised their prices more in line with what you find at other food trucks, but it's still a decent value and very good food.
Shrimp was on point!
Very busy at lunch time. But the line moves fast.
Soooooooooooooooo good!!!!! Definitely worth the wait when there's a line.
This is our first stop every time we visit New York. Gussy's food is fantastic, super tasty and served hot and fast, street side. The owner has an exceptional memory of his customers and recalled our past visit, immediately, from nine months ago. Highly recommended and completely worth the trip. Grab some hot food, sit on the church steps and watch the city.
Good Greek food options, nutritionally balanced & great price, it’s just the meat can be quite salty.
Best breakfast sandwich in the area and is the only cart I never see with espresso machine!!
Lamb & Chicken Gyro was very meaty and delicious but fries were cold and overpriced. Would skip on fries if you go.
souvlaki pita deluxe with the works....you wont be disappointed
This food truck is awesome I've found my new foodie place.
Delicious
Very high quality food. Everything is tasty -- I have never had anything but good food from this truck. The prices are very fair for mid-town. As for their location, I just worry that Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) is gonna blow up the church right next to them (see the 2010 movie SALT). SE corner of E 51st at Park Ave. They got the good stuff - Homemade Tzatziki , which is a Greek sauce served with grilled meats or as a dip. Tzatziki is made of strained yogurt mixed with cucumbers, garlic, salt, olive oil, sometimes lemon juice, and dill, mint, or parsley.
Great and friendly staff. Amazing food. These guys made my day!
ランチ時にはいつも行列しているフードトラック。チキンやギロそしてプラッター、オーバライスなどの組み合わせで選べるのでとても便利です。値段も高くなく量は十分。
