Really was going to Up Thai but they were close from 3:45 to 5 , was going to wait until they reopened but realized that it would be an hour so we decided to try THEP Thai... And was not disappointed. The food was delicious and for the price you get a enough to share per order. Beautiful little place , very friendly staff and quick service...a must try.
The place offers a vast range of delicious food. I loved dining here. Employees are always very nice, pricing is fair and the spot is always well organised.
Delicious, spicy Thai food in a small yet well designed contemporary space. Staff are friendly, ample, and knowledgeable. The menu goes out of its way to ensure it has non-spicy, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. The prices and portion sizes are reasonable for the UES Disappointed that I saw several diners pushed from their tables because their HVAC system was causing condensation to drip from the "industrial" duct work.
Great food, great service. Clean, cozy place. Our go-to for Thai food.
Went for lunch. Large numbers of "Millenial" types dining. Good service and what I had was tasty.
Great food and atmosphere! Very attentive staff, not just one waiter is taking care of you, its a collective effort by all the workers to enhance your dining experience. Will definitely return!
The Thai menu lists many options, and every selection we've tasted is a winner... attractively plated, too. Very comfortable and appealing interior, and outdoor dining available in season. Service is friendly and accommodating. Visited 3 times (opened fairly recently)
Tried something different from my go-to Pad See Ew and ended up with some DELICIOUS Panang Curry with Vegetarian Duck. We also split the THEP Platter as an appetizer between three people, which was the perfect amount. Unfortunately, took away a star as we couldn’t hear each other at all throughout the entire dinner. There was a loud group that contributed to this, but I think it would have been overly loud regardless.
Food was very good! First time having pad thai and their Drunken Noodles were soooo good!! My new thai spot!
Great ambience and amazing food with decent portion size. Pretty quick service. Definitely worth a visit.
Good calamari nice wings service not too good
Beautiful decoration and presentation. Friendly staff. Mediocre food that’s on the sweet side.
The food is delicious, the decor is beautiful.
Awesome food here! We were trying to go to UpThai but couldn't get in so we walked a few blocks to THEP and it was totally worth it. Love the aesthetic as well.
delicious pad thai, solid price, friendly service, great ambiance
The food was amazing, the place looks aesthetically pleasing, and I do recommend coming here!
We were a group of 11 and everyone was very satisfied with the food. They also have several vegan options and the cocktails were creative and tasty as well. Staff is swift and friendly. Recommended.
Love it!!!! The place, The food, The vibe were so good!! The restaurant has a very unique decor, beautiful cocktails bar and lovely service. Definitely, I’ll be back!!!
Cute place with WONDERFUL food. We had great service also. They are so quick and kind.
Massaman Curry is a must try. The portions are big and can mostly cater to 2 people. All the dishes we ordered were flavorful.
Come here if you never want to be disappointed in Thai food. Ever. Every dish is amazing. Don't come here if you really don't like Thai food. You don't deserve this place.
Great food and good service. Tables are a bit close together. Can get noisy at times.
Not only is the food delicious, really excellent customer service!! Made a dumb mistake and ordered for pick up and meant to order delivery, unable to leave to house to get to the restaurant. The woman on the phone was so nice, and made the switch right away for me. Thank you for such great hospitality! Highly recommend this restaurant.
I love the way they bring the dishes out to you.. Also I love the chicken satay and the papaya salad and the shrimp dumplings they are very tasty. This is why I gave it 3 stars
The decor is really nice. The food really good. It was a little spicy for me but I really enjoyed it. We went for my friend birthday and it was a really nice experience.
If I could give a half a star I would, besides the fact that these people were RUDE their service was fast. My (black) friends got to the place and tried to make a quick reservation knowing that me and friends were running late. The lady at the front door exact words was (so I've been told) "yeah that's fine just come back and you guys will be set for the night". When we finally got there we're told that what my friend did earlier wasn't a reservation and that we would have to wait 30 mins. We walked around and came back and a table still wasn't available. We stayed out in the cold and waited an HOUR AND A HALF to be seated. Our service was fast but they were rude towards the end. After paying for the check I went to go use the bathroom and when I came out my girls were not at the table anymore. They weren't even in the restaurant anymore. After I went to the bathroom they were IMMEDIATELY told to sit at the bar and the waitress that came to one of my girls picked up her "to go" bags and threw it on the bar, then they were told to leave because more people are coming in. An extra five minutes of using the bathroom won't hurt after we had to wait an HOUR AND A HALF to get seated. They were rude towards me and my friends. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
This place gives first-rate service and delicious food. My favourite restaurant ever. The meals came out rapidly and the rates are affordable. Highly recommended.
Very good thai food. As is typical for Manhattan, it's a little crowded
We had a party of 15 with one waitress. Need a another one for a party of that size. Pad Thai was dry but waitress was nice. Very busy place.
The fried pineapple rice is so yummy. Service is great. The papaya was a bit spicy for me and they had no problem changing it with no extra charge.
Friendly service and excellent food. Great selection of cocktails as well. Will definitely be back again.
Great food, good atmosphere! The staff is friendly and helpful. Long tables, so you might be sitting next to or across from strangers. Make friends!
This place gives a free Thai tea for a rating ! 4 stars from me. I love Thai tea. Laughing out loud ! food is good too... service is good. Be patient during lunch hour cause it gets full .. I recommend pad Thai
I live around the area and Thep has turned into my go-to Thai place. Really good food and great cocktails. In addition, it's a great place to dine-in. I would highly recommend their Pad Thai and Papaya salad.
Best Thai resturant in NYC
Best food... Best restaurant
Food was super good and atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Has a nice cocktail selection and the menu is diverse without being overwhelming
I've had better places in Brooklyn. Brooklyn forever.
Wow! Never had anything like this in my ENTIRE life! The food was so delicious. I'm an avid Thai food eater and I can tell you that this is the place you want to eat at! Their service was excellent. They were very polite and efficient from beginning to end! 5 star experience!
Overall great restaurant. Vegetarian friendly as well. And great service. Amazing food to top it off. Will definitely be back
Delicious food, fabulous cocktails, and friendly service. Great place for dinner on the Upper East Side!
Had great Thai iced tea!
Customers are suppose to feel relaxed and welcomed. Not wait for a long time and be rushed when there are other seats available. Waitress were rude and pretty much rushed. Not much communication.
Food was great, definitely recommend. Until next time!
Really quick service and pretty atmosphere. The food was good too!
I had the honey pork ribs and it literally tasted like they reheated everything in the microwave. The ribs were chewy and gross. It took me about five minutes to chew each piece. This place is not worth the price. It’s basically frozen food reheated.
Just try out this place a couple of days ago. Really great atmosphere, services and especially the food. The food here is not 100% Thai but it come in a more western mix which I think it best for New York. The place also looked new and welcoming. If you have the chance, try it out.
I'm a big fan of tea leaf salad and this place definitely has the best version of it in NYC! I had the papaya salad and tea leaves salad here. They were both great. Definitely coming back here soon!!
Awesome food, Divine!!
Delicious food, inventive cocktails, great atmosphere. It's a little pricey, but not out of the norm for the upper east side. Come in for a drink and friendly conversation with the bartender, or take your date out to dinner to wow them with the quirky presentation of the entrees.
Lovely restaurant with a good menu selection and friendly staff but their dishes were a bit too sweet for my liking.
Delicious Thai place. They have great lunch specials for around $12 (comes with an appetizer and salad/soup).
Food was pretty good especially the Pad See Ew and the Bass. They are thoughtful in presentation as every thing is garnished with nice colors with specific plating. I recommend ordering a variety of dishes and sharing them family style with your party. More enjoyable when you can try more.
Awesome food and service
Surely a spot worth stopping by, the food is excellent and fresh, the pricing is affordable and it is regularly clean there. Keep up the good work.
This is a lovely restaurant and the people here actually care. Did have one experience here that wasn’t the best (in terms of food quality) but they have totally made it up since.
Great food and quick service. Definitely suggest the lunch special!
My new fav Thai pot
Food was delicious, will return!
Only not 5* because we visited with our baby and our server acted disgusted with her. He stared at her and us looking like he wanted to kill us. Who doesn't look at a baby and smile? If not, don't look. He really needs to be fired or go into another line of business. I described him to a friend who had also been here and he knew exactly who I was talking about - that's how infamous he is. Guy with piercings, a fashionista apron, a strut and a permanent scowl on his face. Real shame, ruined our meal. Doesn't even know how to remove tableware without cutlery spilling off the plate. Otherwise, food is delicious and cocktails of course are amazing. Could really taste the nutmeg in my Dodge Punch and loved the serving style. Food was the only thing served with a smile (from a kitchen member) and the only staff member that smiled at us. Super fast service, a little too fast - server asked us if everything was OK before we'd had a chance to eat or drink anything. Unfortunately will not return due to this server, totally spoiled the ambience and experience with his coldness. None of the other servers seemed happy either. Just stressed out.
Very good thai food and service
My new go to place. Food is DELISH!
Lunch menu reasonably priced. Ice atmospher m an food service
Loved the food and nice ambience. Wish the waitresses smiled a bit.
Good food in good atmosphere, not too long wait
It was my first time visiting THEP it was amazing. Friendly staff . I will be back there soon the cocktails are amazing #thereddragonlady#tryit
Felt like a rushed dining experience. Really enjoyed the authentic Thai Food. Service could have improved.
Perfection: service, quality, price point, bar tenders, host and overall experience.
Really good Thai place! The ambiance is very nice here, everything is really nicely decorated. Food was great as well. I got the kra-pow puffs which were really good. They are these fried pastries with meat, cheese, and veggies inside. I haven't had these anywhere else and they were delicious. I also had the basil fried rice, this was also pretty good. It was decently spicy, I'd say a little spicier than your average Thai place. My only very minor complaint is you cannot get pork with the fried rices which is my favorite, but that's very minor. Service is great, and the prices aren't too bad. It's not the cheapest Thai place I've been to but it is also not the most expensive. One big plus side, this place has a ton of outdoor seating which is great during the summer.
Maybe I ordered the wrong things but it did not live up to the reviews. Went here with some friends so I did try a variety of the menu. Food was mediocre, bland, or strange. Definitely can get better Thai food for cheaper elsewhere. The atmosphere was very nice though, and everything was well presented and attractive.
I accidentally broke a glass. The waiter helped us clean the broken glass right away. He even served us the same drink! Highly recommended!
Excellent Thai for either the standard fare or some more unique offerings. Huge portions at a good price point for the ues
We were 4 of us and I decided to get their porkbelly in the ginger and peanut curry. The flavor was amazing but the porkbelly was cold. We asked the waitress if it was meant to be cold and she explained that it was meant to be served hot. Quite possibly the chef pulled out the precooked porkbelly from the fridge and didn't heat it well enough inspite of taking almost half and hour to get to the entrees. In general this place has a good vibe and everyone else quite enjoyed their dish.
Great service, amazing food; date night spot of choice
Amazing! Great atmosphere and good service. Make sure you get the red curry dish and tom yum soup. So good!
Excellent service and very good food.
Outstanding Thai food on the upper east side! Flavorful dishes and gluten free options! Outstanding service in a warm and elegant setting.
One of my favorite places on UES!!
This will be my new Thai restaurant. It is very authentic, many options and great staff. I really like the decor of the place.
I have probably been here like a dozen times and just always forget to leave a review. Seriously awesome Thai good. There Tom Kha soup is on point and absolutely delicious. Their pad see'ew is solid. Ambiance is amazing. I think I like this place best in the summer and fall evenings where they open the doors and have a lot of natural light coming in. They should basically have a table for me as a regular local :)
Best thai restaurant in the area! Been here so many times and can’t stop coming back! Their decor is beautiful and very friendly service! Love love love!
Easily best Thai on the UES, and hoenstly, maybe the best Thai I have ever had. It's like a food museum and every dish is a masterpiece. The cocktails are gorgeous too. This is my favorite spot on the UES, I cannot say enough good about this place. Would go here everyday if I could afford it.
Great food.... Great me place for the neighborhood
Wow! Really awesome thai food and WONDERFUL customer service. The atmosphere is cool and they did an awesome job with the decor; even the bathroom was cute. My pad thai was so delicious and my husband's basil chicken was super tasty!! Also, they have fun cocktails and happy hour!
Delicious! Fantastic service but most importantly, the best Thai ever!!!
All 5 of us enjoyed our meals! Cute decor, good service. We were there on a Friday at 6pm and didn't have to wait to get in. Yet it wasn't empty and had people coming and going the whole time we were there. The appetizer platter was fantastic. All crunchy deliciousness. All the food was fresh and flavorful. The portion sizes are good. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they had absolutely no dessert options.
Great service, decor and appetizer but I got order paid thai with noodles, meal had very strong raw chicken smell and taste. I tried chicken and noodles, they were really raw chicken taste, couldn't eat. Maybe my plate was like that
I love their Tom Yum soup!
Fantastic Thai selection with good service.
The food and decor are fabulous as is the service too.
One of the best experiences we have had. To start off there was a large number of people waiting and we thought we would have to wait long. Though the estimated wait time given to us was 30mins, we got a table in less than 10 mins 1. Amazing ambiance and polite staff 2. Tasty and delicious food 3. Love their presentation and the cutlery - very presentable. Definitely would recommend this place.
I love this place from the very first time, I like everything I had so far. I already lost count how many times I been there in few months. Food is delightful, staff is very attentive; they welcome me with a smile always checking on me, I love the music, decoration, and the most important thing for me, place looks clean. What I love the most is that everytime me my husband go they have something new to try. I just love it
I love my beautiful dish and it was delicious..;)
Excellent Thai food, great service and vibe. Decor and ambiance are warm and inviting. Especially loved the hammered copper pots on the walls and hanging green plants. The food was delicious, we had the Basil stir fry and red curry. Classics but done nicely and not too greasy which can often be the case. Great for any occasions, including sharing a casual meal at the bar with someone who's company you enjoy while eating hearty dishes prepared with taste and presented beautifully.
Food and service were excellent! I warmly recommend
This place was amazing! The food was great and the service was top notch. Our waitress, the manager, and the bartender all gave us phenomenal service! I will be returning for sure.
I visited on Saturday evening for dinner. We arrived around 6:30 pm and they only had one seating available at the big table and another by the bar. We chose the bar, but it was crowded with the people waiting for the table. . For appetizer, we had the Kra-Pow Puff. There were 3 pieces and it was amazing. The cover was soft and crispy. Inside was filled with minced chicken. The sauce was a bit sweet and vinegary, but it complemented the puff very well. It was also served in a very pretty metal plate. . We shared green curry with long island duck and pineapple fried rice with chicken. I really liked the green curry. I liked the level of spiciness and the taste of curry. The best part was the duck, which was so tender and flavorful. The plate they served was also pretty. The pineapple fried rice was good too but after eating green curry, it didn't taste as flavorful as green curry. I still liked the way they decorated the dish, which reminded me of Olaf.
I was very impressed by the quality of the food--it might be my new favorite Thai red curry in the city. The presentation was beautiful, and the decorations around the restaurant were nice as well. If you sit inside though, be prepared for a very noisy and cramped environment. Our table of two basically became a table of 4 because we were sitting basically on top of the two people right next to us. Luckily, the food and quick service made up for that.
The most delicious roast duck I have ever had.
Everything about this place was magnificent! They served the best and authentic Thai food in NY. My favourite was the beef Pad Thai, it was absolutely delicious! Staff were amazing and polite too! Will definitely go back!
Bleh... poor quality thai food. The ratings are misleading. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees and the rice was the best part. I wouldn’t come back to this place. Its got a nice ambience and good service but food isn’t worth the price. Wouldn’t recommend this place.
THEY COULD CARE LESS THAT OUR ORDER WAS WRONG. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT ALLERGIES, SPICE LEVEL, THEY DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO FIX IT AFTER WAITING OVER AN HOUR FOR OUR FOOD. VERY FRUSTRATING.
Michelin Star taste but diner budget? Gotcha covered! THEP Thai Restaurant is casual, comfortable, and non-pretentious. I had a Farong hot cocktail, which was adorable and well balanced and delicious. I had the yaowaraj noodles which definitely sated my thirst for flavor packed, wide noodles. Also tried the purple rice pudding which was surprisingly delicious! So if you're looking for affordable but good, come here!
Best Thai place in upper east side. The food is just incredible. The restaurant it self is cute, small and cozy. Not much room between table but there won’t be much talking when the food comes. I also order online all the time because they have a 10% discount. Try everything on the menu and you won’t be disappointed.
Came in for a meal had Shrimp Dumplings, Avocado Massaman curry and Thai Sausage Fried Rice. Super delicious food will be coming back for more dishes.
Great atmosphere little small, service was good loving the decor.
Food is phenomenal! Tastes like Thailand and is nothing like the other Thia places. There's a bit of a wait and the resturant is small but totally worth it.
Great place. Delicious food and cocktails. The spicy Udon Noodles and Pad Thai were fantastic. Vegan options available for most dishes. Loved it!
Best Thai food on the Upper East Side and possibly the entire City. It's that good and that nice.
Food was delicious, and service was very polite. I loved the hanging lamps and plants! What else do you need for a great Thai food night
Good lunch menu with great prices
I have been going here for over a year awesome food and prices are very reasonable especially lunch
Got a moldy tomato in my spicy chicken salad and no barbecue sauce when asked . Didn't get any kind of sauce. I was there with my friends, they had hamburgers which were too salty. Avoid this place, too expensive for the service they provide.
Food was SO YUMMY! Presentation was beautiful. Such a great gem of a restaurant on the UES. Definitely going back
Incredible Thai food- especially their appetizers- right on point and drunken noodle or pad thai or their curry dishes are great with either giant whole shrimp OR try the green curry with avocado with cut up chicken. Very quick and still hot and packed well..
Tasty appetizers and loved the Moscow Mule.
Poor and really not tasty food chicken tastes like it passed away on a natural. way (in case you didn't understand this is not a positive phrasing) and the fact that they published an happy hour on the cocktails but charged me fully would not encourage me to ever come again
My favorite Thai restaurant in NYC. Their Khao Soi is a MUST and when offered, get the chicken on the bone. Service is polite and fast which is a bonus!
It's a good restaurant, i enjoy the food and drink. The bartender was awesome. He knows his stuff.
The food is so good every time, I just keep coming back, and I don't even live in the area!! I always get more food than I need because I want leftovers for the next day, and I love the variety. And everyone who works here goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and bring the food as quickly as possible. My biggest problem is that because I like Thep Thai restaurant so much, I am not checking out the other restaurants in the neighborhood! Maybe I will eventually get around to that. Right now I am quite content. Thank you, Thep Thai and all of you that makes this place so special! Julie
Best Thai restaurant on the UES !!! The food is delicious, service is phenomenal. Cocktails were excellent ! Really good value for money. We absolutely loved this place and would definitely come back many many times ! I recommend the Chiang Mai dish (you can ask to get chicken with no bone)
Small but nice. Not crowded. I had the tamarind duck
Great food, reasonable prices. Looking forward to going back. Another great meal on June 20, 2019.
Great service. Great atmosphere and the food delish. We are definitely going back again. The only bad thing so many great dishes is hard to make up your mind on what to order.
Had the Hung Lay - a pork belly in curry with ginger/peanut - and found it delicious. Service was a little overbearing at times, but worth it for the great food at a pretty good price.
Some of the best thai in the neighborhood, both at the restaurant and for delivery. And Pad Thai done just the way I like it (not too tangy). Great addition.
Good food. Friendly service but can get slow if they get busy. Good drinks as well. Very vegetarian friendly
Food was wonderful. Previously we catered pad thai and spring rolls from here for the staff at new york presbyterian... they raved so much that i wanted to try for myself. It was real good and i would order frkm them again anytime i am in the neighborhood.
