To this day the business has a rating of 4.2 stars out of 5 and that rating was based on 2530 reviews.
As you can read, it reaches an feddbacks average is high, and it is founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may be pretty sure that the assessment is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they are happy, it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to give feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Fast food restaurant.
Their food is amazing. Customer service okay. Seating is limited tho, which makes no sense because they actually have more space.
A must visit if you like the famous kati rolls from kolkata. This is the closest you can get to those.
This place is not consistent with the food taste. Many times, the roll is undercooked. I usually try the spicy achari panneer with extra masala which is tasty.
I used to work this place . After a long time I went there. Food are delicious like before.Everything looks clean & organize. All the best .
Good and tasty, relatively quick but not a cheap bite
Got chickpea roll and paneer roll. Paneer roll was very bad, had to throw it away. Chickpea roll was average. Waste of money.
Expensive, one roll is more like a snack and costs almost $8. The original one in the village was great. Good quantity of meat in each roll for about $6 when it just opened. Now the quantity has gone down and the price has gone up. Not a fan anymore. If you have a decent appetite like me during lunch you need two rolls to fill you up which will cost you at least $16. Not worth it anymore. Used to be good once upon a time.
A non descript grab n go eatery in midtown Manhattan. The overall quality of food is very good. Prepare yourself for standing in line during lunch or evening hours.
Tasty. Wish the rolls had more filling for the price.
Good deal for the price charged. All the rolls taste good, especially their lamb shami kebab roll. It was out of the world. The greatest thing about this place is that it is open until 5am so it is perfect for a quick late night/early morning bite! The place is small with few chairs so takeaway would be a better option.
The food used to be good. This time it had no taste. I will try one more time and update if it's good again. Update 3/18/2019 : I went in last weekend and the food was good, had great taste. It was also less crowded than in December.
Great food and worth the walk (depends where you coming from). Staff was cool too. Freshly prepared and authentic taste to the food.
A good place to relish indian food in newyork. I had a chicken tikka role, it was gpod. The wait for the food was too long, we nearly spent 50 mins waiting for the food. They need to expand their workplace and manpower, if they want to stay in the market.
Kati rolls are delicious, freshly made rolls filled with meat or vegetables and Indian spices. Its expensive for its size, the average guy would need 2-3 rolls if not more to feel full, and with each roll being $6+ dollars, its not exactly a cost efficient meal.
Best rolls , but mostly crowded.
Soooo yummy!!! The food was delicious and it was super fast and easy.
Great and quick tasty food at a great price. Don’t worry about a line, they kick Kati at speeding food out!
Nice food you feel like in an old era. The staff should not expect tips as the customers have to get their plate and put the garbage in the bin and you dont server on the table.
Always delicious when food is made fresh here.... This time was very fresh!
Absolutely yumminess... Definitely try a kati roll if your in NY.
This is one of my favourite eats in NYC, and come here every time I visit the city; sometimes multiple days in the same trip. They have multiple locations now, but this is the one I always visit. All the menu items I have had are great but my favourite, by quite some distance, is the Unda (egg) Beef Roll. Delicious!!
Been there twice.. the rolls were good.. try unda(egg) roll.. the box is not so good.. rice was too dry...
Horrible service. Chicken very chewy.
Yummy food, stays open till 11 but they run out of bowls so be prepared to order additional stuff so you're not hungry
I tried achari paneer roll ND it was tasteless, like plain paneer was stuffed rolled in paratha.
Good veg rolls and best part is it's open even after midnight so you can get veg food near Times square at 1 or 2 am as well. I always prefer the chana masala roll over other veg rolls. Paneer one is good too but I like chana masala more since it's more tastier.
Place is not well maintained..we tried chicken tikka roll and I think it was shami kheema roll but it was too small and very very dry to eat. Very expensive as well you need to eat at least 3 rolls to feel some food in you’re stomach. Better to look for a food truck around. I don’t recommend it’s just waste of money.
Well-seasoned food . I really like their chana masala rolls is delicious, must try it !
I went to this place after reading an Article on Halal Tourism by Adnan Samia. I really liked the article and thought it would be great to take family and try this out. However, I guess it was nothing like the article as our food came out overcooked and we ended up discarding 60% of the meat. Spend over 120 dollars and felt it was wasted.
Love this place. Fast service in spite of the long lines and food is always delicious.
I waited on a long line here about 10 minutes during my lunch hour, then when I got to the front and was about to order, the cashier walked away and I was completely ignored for the next 15 whole minutes. Keep in mind this is during the peak lunch rush, and there was a line behind me going out the door. All the staff in the kitchen ignored everyone waiting to place their order. The employees were also rude and short with customers waiting for their food. I did not think this place was worth my time so I left and tried one of the halal food trucks on the same place with no wait. The employees here have no respect for their customers at all, horrible service.
Good food, but they run out of ingredients if you're late. It's fresh, and good, but does take a few minutes(which can add up when busy). The price is a bit steep, but it is nyc.
The rolls are very, very tasty and flavorful!! They also had quick service. I knocked off one star because I do think that the price per a roll is a little high given the size of the rolls. Otherwise, great place!
Food was good but unfortunate they didn’t have any of the items from Lassi. Prices were also very reasonable. Tried “Anda Shami Kabob Roll” and it was pretty good.
very good rolls ...achari paneer is a great one
Great idea. Quick lunch stop. Order in advance of you can.
Awesome sandwiches. Just tried the chicken tiki and it was wonderful. And well priced
I love Kati rolls. It was introduced to us by a friend a few years ago.And ever since we always look forward to eat at Kati rolls when we go to New York it’s good for vegetarian people also.I love there sugar free drinks specially the mango lassi.I highly recommend this place.
This place is great for a cheap snack. It gets pricey when you order a few rolls, but looks are deceiving: the rolls are super filling. I can usually only finish 1 and a half at most. I tried the lamb roll, and two of the vegetarian rolls. You cant go wrong with any of the rolls on the menu.
Not a very great place and food. You will get much better options then this place. Very dirty no place to sit super dirty, super crowded. Whatever instructions you want yo give for your order they will make sure it’s not implemented. So don’t bother to customize your food. Definitely not suggesting this please.
I just loved their food. I always get great customer service here. The place is well kept and the employees are always friendly. Will come visit again.
Good place to have kathi rolls. we have ordered everything on the menu.. adjust you spice level as when u order they consider it as no spice..
This place offers a good choicE of Indian entrees including flavorful vegetarian ones. They also have whole wheat option for the wrap and it was equally delicious. Decor is alright.
Delicious food. Check your order before you leave because I only had half mine. Definitely will be back
The food was high quality and came out quickly. I liked the flavor of the bread, but overall I think the rolls could have used more sauce. They tasted a bit dry. They were around $6 a piece.
Can’t remember what I got but it was good. One had beef and eggs and the other had eggs and potato. Both were really nicely seasoned. Quick service too
Good veg kathi rolls Mango lassi is average to good Interior is cramped and dim but the food is OK
Simple food, done right. Great tasting roll.
The Unda Chicken Roll never disappoints.
It happened with us too many times now. Next time I rather go to a street food cart than this idiotically hyped up place. It was not only extremely salty and tasteless but horrible quality of meat. It always happens with these desi places their quality goes down once they become established and start making money. I strongly suggest everyone to open the roll and see how disgusting it looks, the onion's shell covers are not even removed. I only bother to give them a one Star because is because the post will not allow a comment otherwise.
I Havent Explored The Menu Too Much But The Unda(Egg) Chicken Tikka Roll Is Fire.. Its Too Bad You Cant Add Aloo(Potatoes) To It To.
Fireeeeee! great place for lunch
Nice chicken rolls with chutney. Do try mango lassi
Lovely rolls, never had chicken tikka in a roll before! Two rolls and a drink for about $15, which is pretty cheap for the location. Will come back here next time I'm in the city
It is not maintained cleanly
Lamb is great. Never a bad choice
Menu is quite interesting but few of them testes good( my personal opinion) Would love to try their roll again
Bang for your buck desi comfort food. Great chutney and raita sides. Just wonder why you can't help yourself to water?
The food was pretty great for a quick and cheap bite. However they just increased their prices significantly and its no longer a good deal. Also the staff are disorganized and poorly managed. Wait times vary greatly between being almost instant and being over 15 minutes
Food was really good! It's also quick and very clean if you want to stay in and eat.
Good late night food.wish they could make mild alterations according to ur taste
Decent late hour indian food
Amazingly tender, impeccibly and scientifically packaged, perfect portions that dont make you feel bloated afterwards, various flavours and types of meats. And halal on top of all that. Not very expensive (nor very cheap) either.
I visited this place with friends and I absolutely loved the food.
Good food concept - tasty seasonings - meats should be cut against the grain - some meats overcooked (how is this happening anyway when turnover so high?) - squeeze bottle extra sauce would be nice Needlessly long waits - they need a consultant to streamline their production because they are missing out on $$$ Wasted Seating - arrangements could use an overhaul to maximize space as well They prefer cash - but fuss about with change because they run out of coin I'd re-visit them again at a different time of day
Good place for quick bite of Indian flavours in Times Square. NY.
Tried takeout, portion size is good for the price. Got the chicken with signature curry, slaw, mushrooms, eggs, green beans, and zucchini. The curry and the chicken were decent, but all the other sides were just ok, not having much taste at all. Would get just the meat and curry next time.
Do not use your credit card here. Got fraud transaction alerts next day after I used my card here. The food and service is not good either.
Great but not Legendary. A little overpriced for the quantity but definitely tasty. Needs more space to sit as it can get crowded. Easy to miss as it is a small establishment.
Great food and service! A bit pricy, but the food was certainly very good
I was not sure about the ambience in this place. It had all the classic indian movie posters but all of posters were ripped. Not sure if this was the ambience or if someone did this. That said, the rolls were really good. Definitely do check this place.
Horrible service. Ordered and waited 30 mins after payment. The server deleted the order while calling orders and they put my order plate on the side. They started delivering others and that’s when I said what about my order that is placed on the side. That’s when they got confused and finally packed the same order (cold now) for to go. Didn’t even got a verbal apology. Very rude. Not the type of service I should have got after paying $62.00 on the order including 10% tip I paid while placing the order.
We usually order take out from this place for lunch and the sandwiches are delicious. You can make them extra spicy if you like. The sitting area is a little bit out if order and they don't have enough sit there, especially if their tables at corners are occupied. I would still prefer to order delivery or take out from them.
Just had a kati roll ...which I guess is a semi heated overnight or more older prewrap. massive disappointment...hope my stomach holds up
Extremely loved the aloo roll & Chana masala roll, service is fast the best Indian food in had in NYC
1. Kosha mangsho roll is good 2. Unda should be an option for all rolls 3. The chutney is tasteless and costs extra .. 4. Most rolls don’t taste great 5. Over all - quick eat, over pricey ... more importantly not tasty ! 6. Service was very poor and yet I had to pay 10 -15 percent tip
EDIT: returned just 5 days later, at night and the staff / service was useless and rude. The restaurant was almost empty yet the cashier didn't give me a smoke or any manners, put my order through and I watched it be cooked then sit for 15 mins ready and waiting to be given to me while she flirted with the next customer. Extremely unprofessional, no apologies, she even rolled her eyes at me when I asked if my food was still hot. So disappointed - I ordered shrimp which overcooked just sitting there. Even the cook was annoyed at her slowness and lack of interest. .......................... Really good, extremely quick service, delicious one of a kind Kati rolls, awesome variety and plenty of comfortable seating..they even serve beer which is cheaper than the lassi! Little bit hard to find but so worth it, just wished they delivered further or had more locations.
The vegetarian food is flavorless and it's always crowded if you dont know hindi
Best Kati rolls ever. They have a great variety too but very congested place and its hard to get a seat.
Did not get the bowl I ordered, but the chicken tikka roll I got instead tasted good.
They need some sauces to go with the rolls. They taste good but they tend to get dry.
I dont know what's the hype about. I have had better rolls at other places. Two stars for the tea.
The rolls are good, a bit dry though. It would be better if they put more of green chutney in the roll. Also the size is pretty small for the price.
This spot is good! Reasonable pricing, large dishes and the staff members are constantly nice.
The food is seriously good -- I walked in not really knowing what even a kati roll was, and ordered two, one beef and one plain. Turns out they can be quite heavy because the wrap is literally fried with an egg spread over it, so if you're a light eater, you might only need one roll. The pricing is decent imo, and the service was pretty good. The line gets really, really long, so I ordered mine ahead of time and it was ready right when I picked it up. Definitely a favorite, and will definitely eat again.
First meal after a long train ride from Jersey into midtown Newyork! Was worth the find and must say reminded me so much of the flavours back home! Amazing Chicken Tikka and Achari Paneer Tikka rolls with some cool nice Mango Lassi. Was yum and refreshing, gave us enough to wrap up the day in the big apple!
I love this place
If you like indian traditional style kathi rolls, then I would say this is a must try when you are in the city. A friend of mine who is originally from Kolkata suggested me this place. We ordered Shami Kebab Roll and Kosha Mangsho Roll. Both of them were good, rolled in wheat flour paranthas. I would definitely visit this place again and try more rolls. The decor of this place is authentic old Bollywood style. I liked the decor. The lady at the order station was really polite as well. All in all, it was a good eating experience for me and my wife. I would suggest you visit it! :)
I would have liked to give it a 5 but quality is not as good as it was and customer service not great as they dont listen to comments of customers and they will be losing business
Ordered the Masala Kati roll and chicken Kati roll. They were good but not GREAT. I think it has to do with them being delivered warm/room temperature and not HOT...? When I heated one up later it tasted a lot better. Maybe Kati rolls aren’t my thing but these sadly weren’t anything special/unique to me
Bangladeshi food . Not Indian . Quantity is very less . Taste is good . A place for snacks , not for lunch or dinner .
Great Kati roles ... consistent quality. Love the place.
What they called spicy was not spicy at all. So if you are an Indian looking for real Indian food like me. This is a disappointment. Like all other fast food Indian joints they've made the taste too mild for our Indian tastebuds.
I heard a lot about this place and decided to have a snack.. however didnt find the roll really enticing.. was good but by standards of reviews and ratings, expected better... The place was also hot on the insides and had to switch to seats near the door to get a cool place.. Not sure if this was a one day problem or a regular.. would definitely try once again and re-experience..
Chicken Tikka roll and aalo masala roll with mango Lassi
Excellent fast street food with great selection of savory rolls. Highly recommended for a bite or lunch when in this area.
Great rolls. Order 2 if you want to feel full though
The food was too bland for my taste. I ordered chana and achari roll. Would have liked it more if it were a little spicy.
Budget friendly quick desi bite. The rolls starts from 5 dollars and goes upto 7 +. The lassies are 5 dollars worth.
This place is great for a quick bite. Its very cozy. If you like indian food you will love their twist on it.
Best kati rolls. Favorites include paneer n chicken tikka rolls !
So delicious! Long lines at lunchtime but it moved pretty fast.
This is one amazing quick bite place if you are in the midtown area. They have a choice of rolls to pick from and if you are a vegetarian, never worry! The line gets pretty long during busy lunch hours and they do their best to get you served faster. The rolls are served pretty hot and if you want them spicy, tell the person taking the orders at the checkout and you will be covered. Try the Aloo chat that comes as a pack of Channa masala, some rice, salad and fried onions which would be quite filling and delicious. Two things I wish they could work on - 1. The rolls for most of the time drop with ghee. Wish they could make it less ‘Indian’ized by not feeding too much of it. 2. The receipts have a token number and you will need to wait for your number to be called out. You cannot be listening to music or chatting with your friends and got to be attentive to those folks screaming their throats out. Wish the management creates a digital board for the guests to know their turn themselves and walk to the counter to collect.
Life-changing! I don’t say that lightly. I had the chicken roll and the pandeer roll. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, LITERAL perfection. I’m so glad I went with this choice when our office ordered. I was so close to having another boring sandwich. The food was so good I forgot to take a picture.
Good taste but expensive for the portion size. Do try the chicken and paneer roll, also good seating space
Calculate style Kati roll in a rustic nostalgic environment in 6th avenue, Manhattan. Can you imagine? Yes it is there we liked the food so much. I think it is a favorite of the local office goers aswell. When we were there in Friday noon, it was reasonably crowded and that gave us enough confidence to try out the food. We ordered ‘unda chicken kebab roll’ and chicken rice. Both were amazing. Guys, when are you coming to Dallas, if possible in Frisco/Plano?
The best Kati rolls I have had in US. Consistently good quality of food.
Great taste but 7.50 for a kati roll seems a bit much tbh
Always prepared in time with good quality ingredients. It's good for a quick snack or if you want to make it a group thing. The price is very reasonable considering where it's located. Highly recommend the Chicken Tikka roll.
Fast service and really flavorful. I wanna go back but I'm worried they'll start recognizing me
Roti/paratha were good but the filling lacked flavor did not taste fresh and the people making it did not look happy to be there so thats always a bad sign
It's delicious.
Great Kati roll spot in the city. They are flavorful, yummy and one is never enough. These rolls don't dissapoint
love their Kati Rolls, the unda chicken and paneer rolls are great, they can also customize and put more ingredients in and spices in for a price. They are also open late and great for an afternoon or late night snack
Heard about this place from my co-workers so visited this place when I was at NYC. This place is hard to locate. I tried couple of Kati rolls and chai. The place gets crowded so if you are thinking of dining-in I suggest you visit it during off hours. Take out is the best option. They also have some good Lassi options. Food was good. Service was good. I give 4 stars only because of long wait and not having an option to sit down.
Taste was amazing...they charge little high than what their qty is. Small place making good food. Must try.
My kinda place for desi kati rolls!! I commute frequently between philly and nyc. I never miss bringing kati roll from Nyc for snacking. They have added new paratha bowls in the menu which are pretty good. Sometimes very oily, make sure instruct while ordering.
Fantastic Kathi rolls. Fabulous momos and overall most of the dishes are really good.
Thanks Kati Roll Company for trying to kill me! All of this in one Kati Roll would kill a human! Thank heavens I checked the inside, ruined my appetite and nearly died from the spice.
The quality and quantity of the food is reasonable. I would recommend you to try mango lassi.
The taste was really good. Proper Indian taste but it's really expense and the rolls are not stuffed fully.
I heard this is one of the good places for food, However due to time constraints I had juice only. And it was great too! Thank you!
Nice place, good food. Was really overcrowded when I visited. Didn't even have place to stand. Had to wait for 45 mins for 2 Kathi rolls. Not their fault though.. The people management needs to be improved considering how crowdy the pace is becoming. We had good food but could not enjoy it because many people were literally standing near our table when we were having food.
Super tasty Kati rolls. Line is often long and not as fast as you'd like, especially the wait for your order to get made once you've paid. They'd get 5 stars if they could improve the throughput or if you didn't wind up spending $12-15 for two rolls.
Great chicken eggrolls
Don't go here with high expectations. The rolls are super dry and bland. Wouldn't recommend.
Really tasty rolls, but they are very small. Good for a snack.
I was excited to find Kati Rolls close to Penn Station. But the excitement quickly turned into a disappointment with a soggy, undercooked, and watery Kati Roll. The worst toll I’ve ever tasted. Overpricing this didn’t help either! Save your money!!
First time having Kati Roll and it didn't disappoint. Paired with mango lassi which was a perfect compliment to the spices used. Will be back..
Took 20 min to give my order... Achari paneer was not hot
If anyone wants to experience 70% of what an iconic "Kolkata Kati Roll" tastes like this is where they should be. The Kosha Mangsho Roll and Chapli Kabob Roll are the best of the lot.
Food was good, great environment. I had the chicken Tika roll and although it was good, I can't see myself eating it again. Weird feeling but I got really full and the bread was full. I guess go and try this place out and see what u think. I'm indifferent about the place.
It was ok, wouldn't consider the taste to be 4 or 5 star
Great Kati rolls, good price and fast service. Great for an afternoon craving or a late night snack
A small disclaimer: I was born and raised in suburbs of Kolkata, West Bengal. Hence, my review is an outcome of the biased taste bud that I acquired through my upbringing with this iconic snack. In this review I will compare the Unda Roll from Kati Roll Company with the Egg Roll that one finds in every business center in and around Kolkata. Those Egg Rolls invoke more emotion in me than Phuckas. Hence, I am emotionally biased. To compensate for that bias, I waited more than 3 days in order for my emotions to subside before I wrote this review. Let me start with the good. The staff works incredibly hard as the place is pretty crowded. I think they have done a decent job with the decoration which reflects the kind of eatery this place intends to be. I also think that the prices are reasonable considering the Bryant Park location. Now the critique of their Unda Roll. I will try to quantify my disappointment with this Unda Roll as opposed to a standard Egg Roll: 1. The name: Egg Roll vs. Unda Roll. Why would they change the name? I would understand if the explanation was that they are trying to capture the imagination of the Hindi speaking customers. However, I saw a Kosha Mangsher Roll in the menu. Hence, I am confused. 2. The flatbread (Paratha): The flatbread in a standard Egg Roll has crispy and flaky texture. The Unda Roll was soggy (undercooked) and closer to an oil drenched thin pancake than a Paratha. The size was equally unimpressive. 3. Tomato sauce (NOT ketchup): An integral part of the taste of an egg roll is the (probably unhealthy) tomato sauce which makes the roll juicy. Absence of the tomato sauce is a deal breaker for me. An example of this is my disliking for the Egg Rolls served at the famous Hot Kati Roll in Park Street, Kolkata. This Unda Roll would have been completely dry if not for the disappointing soggy flatbread and a strange green sauce! 4. Veggies: A little raw onion and cucumber perfectly complements each other and the sauce in a contemporary Egg Roll. The dry sautéed onion with the mysterious green sauce in the Unda Roll could not come even close to that. This was my second visit to this location after a gap of more than two years. I was disappointed the first time and things have not improved in the last two years.
I got a Chaat roll and a paneer roll and both were so delicious. The wrapping was easy to take off and they were a great quick dinner. The restaurant itself is very spacious despite its quaint exterior. I was in a rush and the food came out quickly! Absolutely delicious, will be sure to always stop here when I'm in New York.
One of my favorite food spots in midtown NYC. They have a variety of Rolls. Highly recommend, especially for a quick lunch/dinner.
delicious, but a little dry. a little pricey for what you get.
Taste is good but the roll is drizzling with butter/oil. Health cautious folks stay away
Delicious, cheap and served quick!! Definitely worth it if you're looking for a quick cheap bite
The place serves big dishes and for reasonable pricing. kind employees. They never disappoint.
These guys running it do not give a sh*t at all. There is food all over the floor and trash everywhere. The prices are high too for what you get. Still, it's tasty.
This is really nice place for a quick bite and spend time with friend. Mutton roll and chicken egg roll with beer is too tasty.
If you are looking for real Indian role. This is the place here in USA. I found same test as i used to have in Kolkata.
The food is really good and it tastes tangy and spicy on top of that the hours are very timely placed since you can just go eat up at 4:30 AM in the morning. Quick Advice : Whenever you are taking Veg and Non-Veg food tell them to pack it separately as it may be hard to figure out Chicken and Paneer roll which happened with me.
Though very little space available for sit down and eat, it is very good for carry out. Tasty food.
Simply delicious! It brought my memories when I visited India.
Had shrimp roll and chicken tikka bowl. Shrimp roll is juicy, flavourful and awesome.. Chicken tikka bowl is good and filling, can be a bit more flavourful. Loved the food.
Very yummy kathi rolls in Manhattan, New york. One of the best Indian food you can get but the queue & wait was crazy but worth it.
Good but not so extra.
Food is very tasty but the seats are very limited and the place looks shabby. The prices are on the upstream side as well.
The kathi rolls are out of this world! I tried to make this same stuff at home, and mine come out not even 10% as good as theirs do. And I'm a half decent cook myself
Good taste but waiting time is so long even after office hours. Worse waiting time for lunch hours. Prices are very high. Seating capacity is very limited.
This place serves Indian rotis and parathas as rolls with different types of stuffings that they offer on their menu. Located pretty much in central New York. In the Hussle bussle of the city, it's always a good stop to pick something of your choice on the walk. Don't expect it to be very tidy and clean, the rolls taste OK, nothing very great about it to comment.
Highly recomended for kati roll lovers and Indians too...
Great place for some yummy, quick bites. Reminded me of Kolkata street food. Great taste and variety to gorge upon. There newly added rice bowl variety is lip-smacking!
You got to love kati roll from this place. I suggest, take out is the best option as it is not that good for dine in, but you can never beat the taste of the food. We never miss going to this place whenever we are near NY
Inside was meh so keep that in mind if you’re planning on dining in. The food and portions were good enough. Customer service was good.
