This is probably one of the more expensive places NYC has to offer but every time I’ve been here, it was amazing. The veal cutlet is really good! They also serve amazing gelato and coffee if you are in the mood for dessert!

They make some of my favorite Italian food in the city. Definitely get the Vitello Tonato, asparagus with eggs or any pasta. Everything (including every single cookie) is amazing.

Worst experience at a Sant Ambroeus! I usually go to the one at Sotheby’s or 68th and 3rd for lunch or coffee so, I decided to try the restaurant this time. Upon arrival the host refused to seat us at a front table because we only wanted coffee and dessert, he was extremely rude and stated that if we were only having that we could only seat at the bar. The restaurant had plenty of tables in the back and most tables were open at the front but, he still refused to give us a table because according to him wanting only coffee and dessert was too little to deserve a table. Not sure about the food here but, everything is really good at the other locations. You are better visiting any of the other locations. The staff is extremely rude here!

If I could put zero stars I would. Showed up at 9pm to have dessert and cocktails (they are known for dessert, right?) and I was told that they are “only serving dinner” as I saw more than half the restaurant with empty tables. Pretentious and inappropriate. Will share this with everyone I know on the UES.

One of my favourite places to dine, it is a bit expensive but the great food, the atmosphere and the friendly staff totally makes it worth it. It does get a bit noisy some times, but I don’t really mind it, kinda adds a warm family restaurant feel to it. I would recommend trying their snow crab salad, the pasta with truffle butter sauce, and their fish are always fresh and well prepped. They also have amazing gelato and coffee.

What a wonderful experience of sophisticated hospitality, Italian style. Had one of the great cappuccinos of my life, and the kids loved the desserts. The vibe is very authentically European and, while certainly high-end, is unfussy and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Whether you are stopping by for a coffee to go and a delicious croissant/tasty treat, or you plan to stay for dinner, Sant Ambroeus is definitely an experience. This iconic Upper East Side eatery is always hopping. Everything about this place is upscale, but you can find something for any budget. Just walking around with their signature salmon pink-colored coffee cups makes your day feel brighter. The best red-eye coffee in town — and take the time to have hot chocolate standing at the bar. It’s a real experience.

Very cozy place with amazing service and food choices. It brings me back to the 1950s with the decoration and waiters’ attire. We just walked in during Easter holiday weekend without standing in wait line. And the waiters are super friendly.

The lil sliders in the cafe are amazing, something about the bread they are on was just delicious. The service was friendly and efficient even though they were very busy. The avocado toast with two poached eggs was perfect. The plain croissant had a slight taste of orange to it that I wasn't expecting, but I didn't mind. A tad pricy though, spent $87 on breakfast for 2. But it was worth it. I would definitely recommend and go back again.

Always a fun stop. Biggest issue is the Air condition situation. It’s either too cold or too hot. No proper air ventilation. Second, for a vegetarian they give only one option, plain pasta with garlic. We didn’t complain, just went to a vegan place to get my bite to eat. Pasta was really undercooked and so boring. Why they choose spaghetti over angel hair is odd for such a fine place. The bottle of wine we ordered was 18 years old and was superb. Love their salads & gelato. service was great.

Superb Italian cuisine. One of the best spaghetti pomodoro dishes I have had. It is perfectly al dente and the sauce is divine. The waits can get long, and it is not cheap, so it’s a nice place to go once in a while or for a special event. There are a lot of locals who go here, and they have a beautiful pastry selection up front.

First time here and very impressed. Warm welcome and great service. Solid manhattan and offered a taste of wine before choosing a glass. All four dishes were good although the risotto was on the salty side. No major complaints and would not hesitate to return.
