REVIEWS OF Raoul's IN New York

Joshua Garza

Absolutely LOVED this place. Had dinner for 4 here in March for my birthday, and it was nothing less than exquisite! I highly recommend if you are in Chelsea area in New York.

Sagi Benbasat

Really cool atmosphere, you feel as if you were in France. Steak was a bit too peppery, fries were really tasty

Andy Nick

Lots of old nyc charm and character, coupled with fantastic bistro fare and solid service. Great pours, as well. Really a charming spot for a throwback evening.

Dan Brooks

Fantastic French bistro in the Village!

Henry Nguyen

We had their burger at lunch. The beef patty was really juicy at medium rare. But the pepper sauce was the real star. It complimented the burger so well and you might need a second serving of it.

Mohamed Salem

Great Food very clean and tasty great people

Doris Eugenio

We go once a year for my girlfriend's birthday as a special treat. They always have a good vegetarian entrée that changes. It was cauliflower and cepes over seasoned polenta last night - delicious! Artichokes are always good too. My friends had skate and often get steak. The food is cooked perfectly. Afterwards you can go upstairs for a Tarot card reading, which is fun to end the evening!

Adam Tepper

Still good but not what out used to be

Andre Rohe

Crowded place, but a wonderful meal with great service. Very good wine selection as well.

Thomas Egan

Amazing old school French restaurant. Awesome food, great vibe! Can't beat the the steak au poivre, probably some of the best octopus I've had as well!

James Tieu

Great burger. Apparently Kevin Durant's favorite. My friend met him here and then recommended me to go here. Went for their burger specifically. Was very good but didn't strike me as great. Their sauce is what makes the burger special. The bun is apparently from Amy's Bread which is a great bakery. Try to go on a weekend if you want the burger as they make more than the 10 or 15 weekday quantities.

Maria De Jesus

DEF one of my all time favorite in Soho, New York. I love the french decor and vibe. A lot of locals go here. I usually sit at the bar because the bartenders are really cool! I eat the bar steak with fries - it's my favorite and more than enough to eat for a petite woman like me. The salads are also very good.

Billy Sitter

Great food, good service--all around a nice place. Went there off a recommendation from a friend, I and wasn't disappointed. Will be back!

LA P

Been going to raoul’s for 20 years. Never disappoints! One of our goto places downtown!

Ben Guralnik

Amazing food and authentic French atmosphere

Natraj Srinivasan

Great ambience and food!

Neslihan Ozdemir

Tried the burger, I can't believe they make only 12 a day.. it was tasty. Bartender Franco rocks! He's such a nice professional. We had great time at the bar. Nice vibe, music, and drinks. Also tried the octopus, it was good too..

Raymond Kanevsky

Classy, yet unassuming, Raouls is a soho staple worth every penny. Whether you came for a nice dinner or drink and burger at the bar, you won't be disappointed.

David Ray

Great place, good scene, too few hamburgers.

Eugene Aarons-Cooke

I've only been here for the "off-menu" burger, but I have to say that it's one of the best in the city if you're looking for a flavorful burger that isn't over-complicated. Fries and accompanying gravy are both excellent as well.

jake vinson

Special place in the city. Food was unique and delicious. I feel like we did an SNL sketch with the wine guy and waiter. Lots of fun. Will go back.

Chuck Linderman

Wonderful French cuisine. Cozy seating with good food. Ambience is dark dining by candle light. Interesting historical nude paintings adorn the walls. Wonderful desserts and expressos. Take a cab as the on Street parking is very limited.

Padmaja Avadhanam

Great service. Perfect ambience. Loved the fig salad and desserts (being a semi-vegetarian, couldn't try many dishes, but the desserts were worth the trip). Pommes frites and charred broccoli with garlic are must try.

Tim Grunwald

The food was very good, but quite expensive for lunch. The hamburger was very good and so was the tuna salad. Seating was very tight, they had to pull out the table so one of us could get in and sit in the booth right next to other tables.

Thomas Ho

Truffle Beignets were amazing, although i was expecting something very different. Steak Tartare was about as good as you can possibly get. Berkshire Pork Belly with winter truffle was lacking any truffle flavor at all. Lobster risotto with truffle was also lacking any truffle flavor. Steak au poivre was 10/10 and even better that it was not a traditional filet.

Duane Nixon

Good Food Strong Drinks, Tight sitting area. Pricey menu!!

Eva Myrth

They made room for us even though we didn't have a rezo. There was a line at 5:00 for the bar where they serve burgers on Saturday nights. Only 8 people can be served burgers at once and there was a out an hour wait. Unfortunately, the food was just ok. We had the foi gras and it was downright weird. But still we enjoyed the experience and would go back and get the steak au poivre which we heard later was the thing to get. Next time!

Sam Donham

Nice, quite little steakhouse, cute outdoor dining in the enclosed garden during the summer - call way in advance for reservation. Meats are well prepared, but nothing mind-blowing. They are reasonably priced however. Staff is weird as hell, but that what makes this place so much fun.

Jason Nickel

A New York City, institution, Raoul's is that classic French bistro that's fun to plan a leisurely weekday lunch for or stumble in late for a cocktail and pomme frittes. If you're looking for dinner, do snag a reservation as the space is on the smaller side and you can find yourself sans a table for quite some time.

Rau Rahimova

Very nice food The best fua gra ever

Mariana Verkerk

One of the first restaurants I ever set foot in in New York and still great. Great food, fun atmosphere, great clientele and ... the bar becomes a local hang out after most restaurants are closed. Soho Classic.

James Steelman

Classic west village joint. One of the best restaurants in the neighborhood, for sure. The atmosphere is warm and sexy. Classy without showing off. The service is consistently top notch. Friendly, helpful, and attentive wait staff. The food is the reason to go, though. I haven't been enough times to sample everything, but I can tell you the steak au poivre is splendid. The seared scallops are perfect. The fried potatoes are cooked in duck fat and are downright sinful. You can always start with a dozen fresh and fabulous oysters. And everything you've heard about their burgers is true. I'm not qualified to say it's the best in the city, but is fantastic. I don't believe you can go wrong here, honestly. Everything is expertly prepared with care, served promptly, and delicious to the last bite. And remarkably enough, it is very reasonably priced. Not cheap, mind you, but very fair indeed. All in all it's a "must visit" for tourists and a solid go-to for locals. I can't recommend it highly enough. Make a reservation though...seating is limited and it's almost always busy.

Catherine Sproul

This is the kind of New York restaurant that you would kill to be a regular at. Fantastic steak frites. The best artichoke I’ve had

Shuraifa Faruqi

Great service, great ambience and a killer cheeseburger. Be forewarned though, if you'd like to sink your teeth into what's arguably the best gourmet cheeseburger in the city, come before 5pm and wait at the bar till they start taking orders at 5pm. They make only 12 a day and served at the bar only. You won't regret it.

Angie Bailey

Very popular restaurant that was recommended to us. The place is lively, loud, and very tiny. The tables are insanely close together, so get friendly with the people who are seated next to you. Conversations are not private. Took a pic of the tables within an inch or 2 of each other. The food is phenomenal. I got a double order of the lobster risotto since it's an appetizer. Hubs loved the steak and their wines are on point. Service is lacking. I'm not sure what's up with the server we had but for some reason she thought it was ok to grab a wine glass of her own and taste our wine that was $160 per bottle (we got 2) without asking. We don't even know her and who the hell does that?? It's one thing if we we're friends, but we are not from the city and for her to do that is extremely unprofessional. She then proceeds to ask us what we do for a living since we don't seem to fit the profile of a couple who can spend that much at a dinner. Nosey much?? The service just kept going down hill and there was a lot of waiting. We ordered dessert and she forgot...she gave us the dessert menu AGAIN and we had to order AGAIN. Then at some point she left and didn't let us know she was and someone else took over. The food is 5 stars, the ambiance is noisy and overcrowded, the service is a zero. Would we come back? Absolutely, but I don't want that server ever again.

Alexander Cameron

The best of all time.

mel draftz

food is always great here. this time I sat at the bar and had the burger which is only available at the bar. it was outstanding

Bobby Delfino

Still great. Last time I was there 20 years ago.

Jason Brown

Another great restaurant in NYC. Service is good, atmosphere is perfect and food is delicious. If you are looking for a nice French bistro in NYC this could be your place. You pay but you get back every single penny, so you leave Raoul’s satisfied and happy. If you are in Soho don’t miss it! Definitely 5 stars well deserved.

Emily Chen

The BEST bougie burger is the French dip burger found here. Raoul's is an old school NYC bistro (great for a non-cliché date) and you can only get this burger at the bar. They're limited to 12 per night - so you should call ahead to see how many they have left if you plan on going. The thing is that it comes with this insane creamy au-poivre sauce that you DIP YOUR BURGER into for each perfect bite. More illustrated recommendations on Instagram @emco_recos.

Innuan Org

Had a wonderful time here. We wanted to go to the Dutch but it was too full. We were very pleased to find this gorgeous place with amazing food and warm-welcoming service. I myself is a vegetarian, I had provencale Ratatouille Crepe, it was surprisingly delicious. My friend ordered their famous burger, an apple pie, and the mussels, they were all satisfied from the food-gasm.

Adam Van Grover

Great bistro, full bar, inviting and intimate booths with French comfort food, art nudes lining the walls and a tight staircase leading to a payphone and courtesy toilets. The food was filling, delicious, and addicting. The location makes it something of a hometown secret, and the service is accommodating to a fault. Very comfortable atmosphere, left with a desire to return.

Emareyo Kennedy

Excellent place. Had a nice birthday celebration here and the waiters and waitresses did an excellent job.

Randall Harleigh

Went here for the burger because it is on so many top ten lists. A heads up, some reviewers suggest getting to the bar (the burgers are only served at the bar) 15 minutes before the kitchen opens (5:30 PM). If you really want to be assured a seat at the bar, be standing outside at 5 when they unlock the door. There are 8 seats at the bar and they serve 12 burgers a night so this is important. I'm not going to rate this burger simply because the low availability means that as a practical matter you can't have one, why don't I rave about a burger at a place in Moscow while I'm at it. If you have the time and persistence, however, you won't be disappointed.

Victor Aguilar

The selection of food was limited but plenty of detail was put on every dish. The seafood was cooked to perfection and the side dishes were generous and delicious. Both wines (Bordeaux and Sauternes) were fantastic. The only obvious drawbacks were the price and the occasional long wait for service. The best part of the experience was the wonderful surprise of a fig & toffee bundt cake, courtesy of the house. Sweets are always welcome.

Fup Biz

Busy, high energy, tiny French bistro with the best steak au poivre on the planet. Been coming here for 15 years and the high quality and consistent product is amazing to me. So hard to do that over a long period. I will eat here every single time I visit this city. Reasonable pricing by nyc standards as well and rock solid no frills service every time.

eduardo nogues

Quiet atmosphere, very warm attention, high quality in all the dishes. Expensive wine. Original and creative dishes. Will come back. 275 $ three people, with wine and deserts

Olivier Puyraud

Had a gorgeous meal in this cozy yet lively restaurant. Great cuisine and service was spectacular. I highly recommend the oysters and the meats. Expensive but completely worth it. Go with a couple of people, not a group.

Sameh Saadeh

Was disappointed that you can only have the burger at the bar.

Barbara A. Borozan

An nyc classic. Excellent food and ambience. Never disappoints.

Kris Lee

Top 3 burger in Manhattan, can't wait to come back on cheat days

Cali Knows

Best burger of all time

Shenhav kimhi

Classic French well done

Jeanne Maxbauer

Still great after all these years!

anna ficeto

Great, food, great atmosphere and great service. So glad the place I wanted to go was fully booked, this was an excellent experience, right down to the 80’s disco music. Highly recommend to anyone

James Green

The go to bistro for my wife and I. Raoul's is different than other places, which we really like. Has kind of a retro feel to it. Definitely worth a visit.

Mays Rexen

What else is there to say, just great.

philippe meyersohn

Great steak frite. Only rated 4 stars because very tight place and level of noise. But otherwise no complaints about the food. A classic.

Katie Pankhurst

The burger is unreal. Love the decor in there

John Oneal

I had no problem ordering the Burger and it is AMAZING. Came a few days later with 5 people people and again had no issue ordering THREE burgers for our group. Just be smart and get there right when they open....And get the Burger!

Neal Marshad

The best French bistro food in NYC. Serge Raoul and Guy Raoul started this place in the 70s and it remains my favorite for over 40 years. Try to beat that!

tommy damascus

Over rated and rude host

Krzysztof Krawczyk

This place is awesomeness. Great staff, short but to the point menu, and so stylish interior and vibe. Top at SoHo.

Gene Sower

The most expensive meal I ever had in my life and I'm nearly 60. Yes, it was New Year's Eve but we paid nearly $500 a person with 3-4 drinks each and dinner. Totally not worth that amount of money.

T Connors

Perfect French food in great atmosphere

Vinnie V

Honest one of the best burgers I have very had in NYC and quite possibly in the states. The gimmick of having to go there at 5 pm was definitely worth it. The burger is served with an Au Povire sauce and the meat has peppery crust that hits the pallette with every single bite while the soft airy bun complements the creamy cheese that can be found in the mixture of the argula and pickles. The vibe here is what you would find in a quaknt French Bistro. They have a wonderful wine list and I would recommend the Raouls Bordeuax. 10/10 would visit again.

Gavin Barclay

Classic spot, good traditional cocktails and great service. One of my favorites.

Julie Xiao

This is my favorite French restaurant in NYC. It's the best date spot since it's very romantic and they have great French food. I usually get the steak frites. The steak is always cooked perfectly and the fries are always crispy. Their other dishes on the menu are great as well. The service is very nice and attentive as well.

Freedom Cordner

Cool spot. ...but, ima have to revisit to try this burger of which they speak because I knew nothing about it this stop in. We were walking past and stopped for a drink. I had more that the one I thought I went for but, welcome to my world. The restaurant is dark as chit. We sat at the bar and glanced around wondering how diners were able to read the menus AND eat. I was having issues myself at the better lit (but not by much) bar and had to turn my phone's flashlight on. Oh the shame. What is it with restaurants and these staircases!?! This one had a winding contraption. You know the type, as if you're ascending into the head of lady liberty. Man this city ain't vertigo friendly at all at all. However, when you finally make it upstairs. There's a lounge area just outside the loo and folks were sitting around chatting. Let me tell you, I tried to pee as quietly and gently as I could because I didn't want my splash being the soundtrack to these folks' conversation. NO SIR! I came out and almost washed my hands between these kind folks conversation seeing the sinks were almost in the middle of the lounge chairs. The set up is different. Upstairs has an artsy feel to it. Very nicely eclectically decorated. I like Raoul's Restaurant, even if I didn't get to try their darn burger. **Kicking myself** The End.

Lenny Romano

Really amazing steak, the waiters were patient and were in no rush. I felt very welcomed the moment I walked inside. Amazing fries as well, I highly recommend the steak.

azachinito

The famous limited 12 units only per day burger. I got there at 4pm. Sat, waited, great atmosphere, fantastic environment, great bartender. By 5pm all 12 burgers were reserved, by 5.30 kitchen opened. Got the burger at 5.45pm. Was this $27 burger worth waiting the good part of 2 hours for? Well it's a fantastic burger for sure, but it isn't by far the best burger I've had and worth waiting 2 hours just to be sure to get one. Flavour is very a strong juicy pepper given its a pepper burger with a pepper sauce (burgers should be served more with a delicious dipping sauce more, that really is a more unique concept) but it was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly to order. This dish itself can't really be faulted. But the limited quantity makes it both exclusive and tainted at the same time. It was great to do once, I won't be going back though to wait, if I happen to be in the area and pass by at 5.30 and also happen to be hungry, I might pop my head in to see if it's available but otherwise, masa's Tetsu on a Monday night for $25 burger, fries and a beer night is where you will find me for my best all round burger food and experience in New York.

Jessica Robinson

Rated one of the best burgers in the city, this place is very French, fun and delicious. Very delicious French twist on the cheeseburger. If you order the burger, make sure you cut it in half and dip into the sauce. :) Staff were fun and friendly. Artwork is fun and sexy. Recommend finishing off your meal with the banana and chocolate pudding.

lior man

We made a reservation couple of months in advance for celebrating our anniversary. We have asked to be seated in the inner more quiet part of the restaurant, When we arrived there were couple of tables available but we've been told this are reserved and offered us seats in the noisy area. Again, we made our reservation two months in advance. When I say noisy I mean that you can not have a conversation without screaming at each other and this is not how we wanted to spend our anniversary so we had to leave. Poor service and poor reservation method. go only if you like to yell or if you have good ear muffs. Food does not justify suffering from noise. Lesson learned. We will never go back.

Tyler Trujillo

Absolutely incredible. Go for brunch, find a partner, and go halves on the burger and the pancakes....

Chuck Salvo

This place reminds you why you love NY.

Marjorie Tornatore

Our friend invited us for dinner at Raoul's. I read it was a classic bistro...When we arrived looked like a very nice restaurant. The place was full of great pictures...The menu had some great options. We had the crab beignets, Asparagus salad & Berkshire Pork Belly as appetizers between 2 couples...It was perfect ! Then we ordered the Steak au Poivre & Scallops with roasted chorizo which my hubby & I shared...each dish paired with white and red wine...The meal was amazing...everything we ordered was delish..I highly recommend this place ! service was on point as well...

J. Wanjiku Ndugu

One of my favorite restaurants in the city. The bar is amazingly fun and professional bar tenders who will remember you after 2 or 2 visits. Restaurant is very busy on weekends and you need reservations. The food is great and service exceptional. I particularly love the steak au poivre and the appetizers. Absolutely love the old world feel with a little decadence in the artwork

Pablo Gonzalez

Sat at the bar at 9pm on Sunday night, and to my surprise ONE burger still available. So I order burger 12 of 12 with a Duvel. Truly good burger. Very tasty and juicy. Cooked to perfection. I think this one goes on my top 5 of NYC burgers. Nothing special on the fries, they where good but a averege. Bartender was on point all the time. Great service, good ambience. A little too crowded but nothing wrong with it. Overall, I loved it.

Kαren Dαy

Went for the famed burger-at-the-bar experience; the burger was average and not worth $19. If it's on your NYC burger bucket list, go for it, otherwise pass.

Bruce Curry

Very nice and surprisingly friendly service, tables a bit too close together but great neighborhood feel. Good wine choices.

Mike Reid

Good service, good food, and good drinks.

Morris Bryant

We had an incredible burger and pepper sauce here. The service is great.

wendy crispell

I absolutely love the bar burger here! They only make a limited amount ans it's not on the menu, but, it just may be the best in town. Wash it down with some bubbly or a Pinot Noir and you're in heaven.

jp h

There is a reason why it has been there for 40+ years: the food is outstanding.

Lance W

Steak frites are still the best on the menu

MinJee Kang

Hidden gem with amazing black pepper steak! We always feel like we are at a bistro in Paris

Peter Garea

The burger

Jonathan Brierley

Oysters, steak au poivre, great cocktails, and a classic NYC atmosphere make this an awesome spot to visit. Staff are incredibly friendly and that steak puts many dedicated steak houses to shame. Highly recommended, and book first as it's busy all week long!

Jonathan Peters

Had the oysters, foie gras and rack of lamb. Food was amazing and the sommelier was very knowledgeable. He helped us pick a great bottle of wine.

Aria Ni

Amazing! Food was great (pricey but definitely worth. It!). Energetic atmosphere and great drinks. Never a disappointment, staff is always friendly and food is exceptional.

John Hein

Awesome Birthday Dinner! Steak poivre was perfect!

Joshua Caleb Collins

You will never find a better burger. Period. Pairs with their famous Vesper Martini you can’t go wrong.

Ishan Amarasiri

Food was good. Service was average. Overall good but nothing exciting.

Subhash Krishnamoorthy

Delicious brunch. Ready drinks. Manager was very hospitable and friendly. Enjoyed his company during brunch.

Liz Watkins

Love this classic bistro. I've been going over 20 years.

Patrick Slattery

Authentic French bistro. Great steak au poivre.

Patrick Flynn

Steak au poivre is worth another visit. Wines by the glass were all good. Atmosphere was for real. Fish was way too salty.

Wolf Stundl

Best steak au poivre ever, great professional staff

Brayden Mora

This cozy but very loud restaurant is home to perhaps the most outstanding Steak au Poivre I have ever had. The cut of meat was excellent, cooked to a perfect medium and crusted in just the right amount and consistency of pepper... served with a perfectly seasoned sauce of exactly the right consistency... and of course accompanied by a basket of crispy Frites! It doesn’t get much better than this! Exactly what I would expect from an Alsace heritage which, arguably produces the best chefs in all of Europe!

Patrick Joos

One of my favorite burgers in the city. And also one of my favorite places to eat at the bar.

Abigail Rogado

Soho neighborhood spot with amazing French fare. Always good and always packed so make sure to make a resi!

Juan Wimbleton

We went to Raoul's for the burger... it's not on the menu, and you have to sit at the bar to get one. However this place is about much more than the burger (which is good, but almost certainly not the best I've ever had!), the place has a great atmosphere, tremendous service and excellent food. If you're lucky enough to be served by Nik at the bar then your night is complete.

Diego Cassinera

Great food, atmosphere and staff. Love it.

Louise Vionnet

one of the original new york haunts of fabulosity. great food, atmosphere etc. great service always packed.

Tony Berkman

Best bistro in NYC! Arrive early for 1 of the limited allotment of burgers - it's worth it!

allthefoodsnyc

My family has been going to Raoul’s since long before I was born, and I’ve been going as long as I can remember. It’s a classic restaurant and has a vibe that matches. It should be on everyone’s NYC bucket list... and definitely get the steak au poivre.

Emily Moberg

The burger is really phenomenal, especially with the pepper sauce. Custom mixed drink was also awesome.

Sam Fitzgerald

One of the best burgers Ive had in NYC.

Mark Taylor

we wouldn't call it cozy or romantic; more like crowded but the food was very good. i had the spiced lobster and it was delicious and my wife enjoyed the salmon. it was an interesting walk through the kitchen to get to the other side.

Douglas Park

It's good but there are better bistros out there

Krist Lime

Loved this place! I am from out of town and I stumbled across this gem because of the live band playing. I wanted to see the band live, but that was a private event, they did have them playing on a television as we ate. I loved my waiter/bartender his name is Mario, so far the best service since I have in the city (and I have been to nicer more expensive restaurants). He was very friendly, sweet and attentive the whole evening. We started with a glass of red wine and the cheese board the cheese was perfect. For dinner I ordered the filet mignon special and honestly, I have had better cuts of filet, but the topping was great. I could have done without the carrots but the asparagus and potatoes were both really tasty. Over all the experience was great, I think Mario had a huge hand in that. Thank you for showing me some place in NY can have great service!

Gil Taurus

Food with delicate taste, wine on point and a great staff.

Milot Krasniqi

Best restaurant in New York. Highly recommend it.

Alexandra di Guglielmo

Steak au poive is to die for. One of the coolest restaurants in the city.

Viorel Tanase

Great food and great restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for exceptional French cuisine.

kevin norris

Service second to none.

Andy Mei

Great food. A little bit loud and tight seating. If you are unlucky and get a table in the middle of the room, you'll be rubbing elbows with the table next to you.

Viktor Ziskin

Fun room, excellent food and good service.

Eve Chou

BEST burger on the island!!! It's definitely a fancy pants burger. It's worth the hype and every calorie. The flavors are just spot on and you will be left speechless. You will want to lick up every bit of the sauce. Don't worry about how you look because it will get messy. I have been dreaming about this burger since I had it. You will not be disappointed.

William Lehr

Great experience, waitstaff, and food. The wine list was robust and accommodating. From start to end a wonderful evening.

Chen

They said their burger is the 2nd best in town. It was ok, I had many better ones.

Ellen J. Snyder

The food was good although not spectacular. The crab beignets and polenta with eggs were delicious. The burger was a slight disappointment to the hype. It’s wasn’t very hot by the time it arrived at our table for brunch. The restaurant accommodated our small party without a reservation which was nice. The remaining waitstaff seemed irritated and unfriendly. Worth a visit for brunch.

Martin O Connell

Definitely my favorite restaurant in New York

Myname Iswreck

Great drinks

j lee

Great meat and beef tartare

Chris Kiser

The BEST steak au poivre in town. Reservations required well in advance. You can also sit at the bar and order a delicious burger.

Emilie Dishongh

I've only been here for the burger, but the burger is 100% worth your time, and easily in the top 2 of non fast food burgers in the city. The patty is literally the most perfect patty I've had on a burger. Exactly medium rare, loose and delicate texture, great flavor, nice char. The combo of the watercress, the cheese and the onion creates a very French lightness that makes the burger seem not too heavy, almost refreshing. On the side is exactly where the peppercorn sauce should be (it's good, but for most of the burger, I enjoyed it without the sauce). The bun is a nice balance of squishy and firm, and the correct size for the burger, so that it never becomes too much of a mess. Fries are on the matchstick side but good. Make a brunch resy and get this burger. Easy.

Traci Cappiello

I called when nearby to be sure burgers were available and they were so I headed over with two friends to claim three of the twelve burgers available each night. As you can only order during the week at the bar and there are only eight seats, you'll likely have to wait. The fries are phenomenal, and the burger was delicious even though I never eat blue cheese. The sauce you dip the burger in...oh my! Thanks to Christina for the kind welcome and service! The bartender was also phenomenal. My drink glass was never empty. I recommend coming here as soon as they open so you don't have to wait but upstairs is a nice area to wait and you can even get a tarot card reading by Nancy Stark.

James Fracassi

GREAT food and ambiance!!

Andrew Spena

Come for the food, stay for the patrons. Extremely good people-watching. Try here on a Sunday night.

Alishah Jamal

Went for the famous burgers here after reading about them from a local blog and the burger was just average. I asked for it to get done medium rare but it got down medium well I think so that's why the taste was sorta off. Was $23 for burger and fries. They only make 12 a day and it's first come first serve. Also, it's off the menu. Do recommend it regardless!

Carter Bergeron

great food and service. you have to try the burger at some point

Larry Owen

Great! Sit in the garden with family for some classic french dining or at the bar for the best burger ever.

Gabby

Food is absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend the steak for main. Beautiful romantic feel. Cocktails on point.

Anton Istya

Great food, quites and very clean. Food is amazing for it's price, yes not fast food prices but the food is worth a Michelin star.

Richard Palacios

Amazing food service ambiance this is a place to be. No doubt!

Dante Hernandez

The food was good but not outstanding. The waiter although not rude exuded an "I don't care" nonchalant attitude. He must've thought that he was in some full house bistro in Paris where there were only two waiters on the floor and he needed to get his table orders in the kitchen.

Treker Antone

Terrific waiters, food was excellent, the atmosphere is so old New York and French atmosphere together. Loved it!!! I would enjoy the experience again.

Kenneth Hatfield

This is a really good burger. Raouls prepares 24 burgers every day and once they're gone you're out of luck. I had to come back twice to get one and when I finally got it I was ready to have another. They use steak au poivre with a healthy blend of spices. Im usually not a big fan of higher quality meats in my burgers as they tend to less fatty and flavorful than other lower quality cuts. This is a strong exception. The burger comes with a dipping sauce and they recommend you cut the burger in half and dip it like a donut in coffee. The fries are pretty close perfect too.

Isabel Chen

Although the setting is a bit intimate, I had some of the best octopus and escargot that I've ever had. Server was polite and patient towards our group. I would absolutely go back again

Gene Lewis

Love it here. Another classic. Great food and atmosphere. Good for parties.

Loved the burger and the atmosphere

James Hartley

Burger with gravy is amazing (although pricey), haven't tried anything else but hear it's all good.

Jennifer LLanos

Love the food, the wine, the staff, the ambience, the music....the food! My favorite place to visit and unwind.

Todd Lash

Awesome bar service. Attentive but not overbearing. The burger and fries...ya. That’s crazy good. Get it with a beer, take your time and savor it. High five others doing the same. People freak out over this burger. It’s that good.

Beau Hurst

All time favorite! Great atmosphere with perfect lighting, great service and wonderful food- oysters, frisee lardons salad, steak au poivre can't be beat. Frank at the bar and Eddie at front of house are the best.

Ciro Miranda

Great place to eat. The service was good and the food was even better.... I do got to say that my kids wanted a burger and apparently they won't serve it at the table... Only at the bar??? Kids will be kids no matter how mancy fancy the place is.

Shawn Reimerdes

Insanely amazing. They only serve a tiny hand picked (it is actually first come first serve to be fair), set number of their out-of-this-universe hamburgers. You will often see local salivating gents nervously glancing at their time piece while staking their clam for a bite of the gorgoslity.

Okay, this is for the burger at the bar, which is only available until sold out. It was okay. Not all that it's cracked up to be unless I had one that was 'off'. It's not a bad burger and for those curious with expendable cash, go for it. I would not repeat. As for the rest of the restaurants and the menu, it's pretty good and something to revisit once in a while. As always, go with your gut and try it out for yourself regardless of this review.

Great food, a NYC staple that's been consistently good for years love coming here at least twice a year. Always welcome, best steaks anywhere

egidio Brugola

Very good burger!

Sunil Kumar

Really good food but French American. I've eaten here twice and I recommend the squid, crab and steak poivre. Good service. A little noisy but a nice atmosphere!

Edna Banks

Loved the food, especially the Tuna. The place is super noisy, so if you want a quiet evening, this would not be a good place to go to. The tables are situated right next to each other, so do not choose this restaurant if you want privacy. We had a super small table for the five of us and the table could hardly hold all the wine and food we ordered, but as it was with close friends, it worked for us. I would go back if I could be guaranteed a bigger table.

Ukiyo

The food is truly delicious. My personal favorite is the chilled corn soup. You will need a reservation on a weekend as this place can get quite packed. If you want to use a bathroom, you will need to use a spiral staircase which can be quite awkward if you are wearing a mini skirt ;)

One of the best Soho Bistros around - been going for well over 20 years and it still rocks. Steak au poivre is a must...

Jonathan Ross

Their steak au puvoir is to die for. Great service and wine selection

Charles Guerrero

Get there just before five, sit at the bar and have a drink. Then, at 5:30 have one of the best burgers in the city. They only make 12 a night, and you can only get them at the bar. The fries are also excellent, and come with a really delicious gravy for dipping.

Steve & Judy Reichman

An absolutely perfect evening. Atmosphere was great. Food and drinks were great. Service also top notch. We will be back.
