The food is amazing, but you will 100% absolutely smell like cheese when you leave. The smell will hit you as soon as you walk in. Great food. Great experience. But I wish someone warned us. Our uber driver said we smelled like cheese.

Have been several times and have never been disappointed. We've had most of the Raclette dishes, also the burger and have loved everything. This time, we also had the tomato tartine, but ate it before we could get a picture; it was equally as amazing as everything else. Totally worth out almost four hour drive to get there!

Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy my visit to Raclette. I’ve been waiting for 1,5 hour to be settled down. Restaurant is so tiny, I was almost touching peope next table. Appetizers was fine but it was challenging to chew the bread. Food wasn’t good. I could say, nothing unique, it wasn’t seasoned enough. Cheese has no difference than great value quality. Although waiters were nice. (I ordered: Tuna, Tomato and Parisienne)

Food is amazing!!! I'm giving four stars because the space is kind of small, it gets really crowded and when it does, you feel like you're bumping into other guests while you eat. But I guess that's just a result of how great their food is! Make sure to have a reservation for dinner, otherwise you can wait in line for a long time.

Very good, it is is a “cheesy experience” in a way that you leave cheesed out! My order was the Truffle cheese it was good but NO Truffle cheese taste and flavor at all! Besides that important point, it was all good. We liked it all! Just walking around this neighborhood ... it pays off!

I forgot to post this review. The food was so good! The quality and taste was very on point. Service was good, my only issue was that we had a reservation, still waited to be seated and was placed between 2 huge parties, we barely fit and felt really uncomfortable in what was a space with too many tables and chairs. I understand the importance of having seating but personal space would have made my dining experience exponentially better. Still would recommend, just don’t go at a peak time or near a peak time.

You have to go. Really. Get anything from the Raclette menu and ask for the smoked cheese. That will lead you to Nirvana. The servers are so attentive, really really friendly. From now on, this is a mandatory stop whenever I'm in Manhattan.

First, you must love cheese. Seems obvious but as you step into the restaurant you'll be whacked with a strong cheese stink which is amazing for cheese lovers, but it can also smell like stinky feet to others. Raclette is what you're coming here for so definitely get one of those. However, their tartines are amazing too - Fig Tartine was highly recommended so tried that, and it was amazing but wished the baguette was pretty hard to chew for me. The French must have a thing for hard bread.

Believe the hype... all of it. From the videos I saw online I couldn’t believe it so when I visited NYC I knew I had to try this place out. I went with the Burger and chose the Black Truffle Cheese on top. It was heaven in every bite. The restaurant is fairly small with not much space between you and the other table. I went around 5:30pm and it was empty, within 15 minutes the whole restaurant was packed so make sure to make a reservation. Tbh it was not crazily priced at all and the service was spectacular. The burger was 20 bucks but it was worth every penny. Everything on the menu is fairly affordable and not over priced what you get here is quality in everything. Thanks for everything Raclette!

Great experience. I showed up without reservation around 7pm and after waiting for over 45min they got us a table for 3, which was nice since the queue was pretty long the whole time. Make sure you book a table before going, it gets pretty busy. The staff were super nice and the food was quite an experience, I ordered the classic Raclette with the back truffle cheese... It was great. Simple but delicious, and also liked the selection of beers they have on the menu.

First off, our waiter was very attentive and helpful. This was my first time and I wasn't familiar with a lot of the stuff on the menu. He explained everything very well and helped me make the right decision. Our table started with sharing some mac and cheese. It was one of the best I've had! It was just simple and cheesy like it should be. They used a pasta similar to ditalini and it was perfectly al dente. The chew of the past went well with all that creamy cheese. For my dinner, I got the complete, which had a nice variety of cured meats, cheese, and potatoes. It also comes with pickled onions and cucumbers and arugula. Those fresh and vinegary flavors were a nice balance to all those fatty, salty meats and cheeses.

Definitely make reservations; the dining area is small (maybe 50 capacity). We had reservations for 7:15 on a Saturday, and the place was packed. They sat us at a quaint table, but it was right in line to the bathroom, and apparently invisible to our waitress once she brought our dinners. I still gave it five stars because the raclette scrape is so darned good.

This place is simply amazing. My wife and I sat in the exact same seat as we did last year and it was like nothing changed. The food is exceptionally well prepared, the staff are kind and attentive, and the cheeses are thoughtfully paired with your meal. We've gone to many different restaurants and have had meals that cost triple the price with 1/2 the quality. Raclette is a gem of NY and should be experienced by everyone who loves cheese and quality food and service.

We had the best burgers there!!! I felt the prices where really reasonable, I paid $20.00 for my burger and fries. It was worth ever cent. You order you food and pick out your cheese when your food comes they bring out a large wheel of hot cheese and scrape it over top. The only thing that may bother some people is that it is a vary small place so you sit vary close to other people and it smells like stinky cheese

Was okay. Nothing to write home about. You pay for the experience to watch them put cheese on your food. Very bland and no seasoning on the steak or anything that we ate. Picture of the grilled cheese my girlfriend ordered. I do like the vibe in this place though and how it is open to the street. Wouldn’t go back though.

The presentation with scraping cheese is good but the food quality is subpar. I had a Niçoise salad and the greens were wilted and wet, as if there were sitting for some time in a bag starting to go bad, - typical thing for baby greens. I have same thing going on and I go leaf by leaf not to get this disgusting thing into my family plates. Seems like the stuff in Raclette just grabbed a bunch and threw onto a plate without looking.

Pros: A great and absolutely delicious experience. I went for the first time a week ago and found the food to be exquisite and definitely worth the wait. Cons: I was put on the wait list for table for over an hour. When I finally was told I had a table I had to wait an additional 30 minutes by the entrance since apparently people were not leaving their tables. After finally making our way to our table we were rushed to sit down and didn't even get the little flower pot in the center of the table. The waitress took ages to come by and overall the service could be a lot better.

Incredible flavor for all of the meats and vegetables, with a quality selection of wines to accompany. It's hard to get a meal this good for under $100, but it's quite possible here. With so many great places to dine in NYC, I don't often hit the same place twice, but Raclette will be an exception to that for sure.

Alright food, TERRIBLE service. I went to dinner at Raclette a week ago while in NYC. I have waited a week to write this review wondering if I would have calmed down — nope! Still very angry. If you get Victoria A as a server, go to a different restaurant. I have received better service at McDonald’s. She was lazy, uncaring, and rude. Victoria was slow to take our order, failed to explain the menu to us even though we saw other servers do it for their tables, and never refilled our waters... the other two servers were constantly doing it for her. The restaurant is very tiny, she only had a few tables, and we could see her texting at the POS system the whole time. Our party at Raclette consisted of eight 20-somethings. The food all came out separately, which was expected because someone brings it out with the big, fancy cheese wheel and makes it a point that it is that diner’s moment. I get that. My friends’ dishes came out of the kitchen about two to three minutes apart, however, my chicken paillard took FIFTEEN minutes longer than the last dish. Now I understand this is not Victoria’s fault, but she walked by multiple times giving me an odd look and did not give me an update on my order or even reassure me that it was still coming. On Raclette’s Instagram they post videos of dishes that look nothing like the plates of food we were served. We got small, bite size pieces of steak, a child size portion of mac and cheese, and chicken that looked like a scrambled egg. Three days ago they posted a video of the chicken paillard being topped with a scrape of cheese. Victoria told us that strictly only “raclette” dishes and the sides can be topped with cheese. I’m curious if Victoria has been blatantly uninformed, or if she simply felt like being rude to her table that night! (In fine print on the menu parties of five or more get an automatic 20% service charge added to their check, so she had no reason to be concerned about her tip.) Most of the evening the other servers were taking care of us. Fine. When it came time for the check, you better believe Victoria was right there to drop it. I asked her to split it as it would be pretty obvious that one 20-something would not be picking up the tab for seven other people. She got very angry with me and said that we can all put a card in and she can split it that way. I asked if then she would spread the charges evenly. She said yes. I asked Victoria if she could itemize the check. She immediately snapped back with the fact that if we had wanted to split the check, we should have told her from the beginning because she never assigned seat numbers. Well Victoria, you never asked. I waited tables throughout college and was always taught it was rude to ask a party how they were paying before it was time for the check. Either way if that’s how she preferred to do it, she should have checked at the start of the meal. Raclette uses the system Toast. It is very easy to split checks on the system. I told Victoria that she can go assign seat numbers now (none of us had even moved since we got there) and she can go print itemized checks. I have used Toast before and I offered to go show her if she wasn’t able to figure out how to split a check. Her jaw dropped as if no one has ever pointed out how idiotic she is. I don’t know how an employee cannot do something that is a fundamental part of her job. Long story short, Victoria would not accomadate our request to split the check. One person picked up the $300+ tab. We were being rushed out as it was 10:45pm and they close at 11pm. Everything got cleared from our table, including the decorative flowers, as we were sitting there trying to split the bill via Venmo. They were doing it to all of the customers, not just us. The employees must hate being at Raclette as much as we did. From the first step inside the crowded restaurant that smells of stinky, foot cheese, we should have turned around. My friend had been talking about this place for months. It’s a shame we had such a terrible time, mainly due to Victoria. I do not recommend.

Got the burger with sweet cheese. The cheese melts very well and is a good combination with the sweet potatoes. Service is meh but the food makes up for it. If you plan to go make a reservation ahead of time. If not, plan to wait around an hour.

Ok, it smells like stinky cheese. Let me get that out of the way. Once you get over that, this place is a gem. Busy, so make reservations! Fresh cheese, melted and scraped right at your table. The cheese portions are generous, but also easy to rack up extra $$ if you want to try a bunch. I’ve had a few meals here and my favorite is the skirt steak. Tasty, well marinated and cooked ... not tough and chewy. The Mac n cheese is also among the better ones I’ve had, as it should be given their cheese expertise. Haven’t made it here for brunch yet, too packed most of the time and I always forget brunch reservations. If you found this review helpful, please thumbs-up!

Made a reservation for my daughters 17th birthday. We came from south Jersey. Reservation was for 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. They called me on my cell at 2:15 to tell me they had no power and that the place will be closed the rest of the day. Listen I understand things happen that are out of anyone’s control but i was already in the city at a target around the corner from the place. It cost me 48 dollars to park and now had to go back to south jersey to figure out how to celebrate the rest of my daughters birthday. They didn’t even offer me a gift card, free drink, parking voucher, nothing. Yet if you make a reservation for 6 people or more they require a credit card online and if you cancel a certain amount of time before your reservation they charge your card a fee. The food was amazing!! It was definitely worth the wait. I was coming from the airport and had reservations at 7 and with traffic, we didnt get there til 7:20. They said we would have to wait. I told them it was totally fine, I understand. They told me it could take up to an hour but they would try their best. They ended up taking us in 40 minutes. Service was great, food was great! Looking forward to our next visit!

All those videos about the delicious gooey cheese scrape onto the dishes do not lie - it’s a really cool experience that they do right in front of you. Our server even came back to top off our dish because he thought we didn’t get enough the first time! The food was extremely tasty and I look forward o coming back and trying more cheeses. Coming from someone who snacks on cheese as a midnight snack, I had to come to this place and was not disappointed!

I live in Dallas TX and I come here everytime I'm in town on business!!! The smell of cheese hits you right when you walk in the door. On the appetizer section we got the Tomato, which is to die for! For our main course we got the New York for two, which is totally worth the price, it's so much food! I believe we chose the black truffle for the cheese topping. I absolutely love this place and would recommend to anyone who likes or loves cheese!!!

I made a reservation at Raclette for an alumni event. We were a group of about 15 people, which is quite large as compared to the size of the restaurant, but everything was handled perfectly! Edgar gave us a very warm welcome, the staff was nice, the food was good and the atmosphere was amazing. Everything was very well organized, flowing perfectly and altogether we got much more value than we even expected! Thank you!

The food is DELICIOUS! Service is terrible for being such a small place. The hostess was rude. Showed up hoping to get on the waitlist, but were told that it wouldn't be possible. So I went online and booked a reservation through yelp for the same day, for a couple hours later. I was able to book a reservation with no issues. When I showed up, I still had to wait 30 minutes for a table.

It may be a real highlight for New York... But in Europe this is just ordinary Swiss raclette. The portions are worth the price in quantity, but the taste is nothing special. If you're in a table with more than 4 people, dishes will arrive a bit cold. Service was very attentive and kind, but somehow hectic... They want to get rid of you after a few minutes and you need to be careful they don't take your food away while you're still eating. Anyway, a good experience in general.

A great place for a couple or a family of by yourself. Everything looks delicious. We shared the tomatoes with cheese and pesto over nan, give the pickled onions a try too. When had the Compléte w/Black Truffle Cheese. Halfway through we topped the plate off with more cheese. For desert we had a berry pistachio tart. Our waitress was warm and polite, we never felt forgotten. The only negative thing was how hot it was inside, it was just as hot outside. Highly recommend a visit.

This restaurant had terrific food and was a wonderful experience. The traditional Suisse, a fig tartarine, and a burger was ordered by my party. For the raclettes [the Suisse and burger], cheese [of your choice] is poured onto your meal table side straight off a wheel, and was of superb quality. Outside of the cheese aspect, I can confirm that the burger was cooked excellently, the meat of the Suisse was unique, and all the potatoes were optimally cooked.

Awesome! If you are a cheese lover this is a place you don't want to miss. Check the videos on how they make the plates and you will fall in love! The raclete cheese is soft in taste and that means you can it lots of them before getting tired. I think white wine is the best to drink with this kind of cheese.

The restaurant was set up beautifully. We arrived just after it opened. The cheese smell filled the air in the beginning so be prepared for that if you are sensitive to smells. The food was exquisite. Everything was well seasoned and the portions were generous. They server was kind enough to be tolerant of us taking pictures as he scraped the cheese on the dish. Excellent wine and beer selection. For those that aren't familiar with French cuisine everything is explained so no worries. Important thing to note: if you are even mildly lactose intolerant (as myself) do not overdo it on the cheese eating!

Would highly recommend a visit to Raclette! It should get an award for “best smelling restaurant in NYC”. From the minute you walk in that delicious melted-cheese smell greets you - amazing!! Service was excellent - very friendly and efficient but not too intrusive. We went at lunch time so had a relatively “light” selection. One Fig Tartine - which was delicious and very filling. And one Parisienne Raclette plate - with perfectly medium-rare steak, delicious mushrooms and asparagus and oodles of delicious Raclette over the top. Wine choice was great - we opted for the Swiss white which the restaurant has white labelled and were very very happy with it! All in all, this was a fantastic restaurant and is highly recommended.

This place is a great place and a MUST. Service was good food was out of this world. We ordered Mac n cheese and it was the absolute best , top 5 best ever. Order this dish and get a side of ham, you will thank me. Order any of the raclette, they will scrape the cheese table side and OMG/

Good burger. The smell of the place was a bit confusing. Like dirty feet in a way, yet you knew it was just the cheese. Then it smells really good. But your brain says “no, feet smell is bad,” so then you smell the bad again. But overall not bad. Not the best burger, but the sliced meat looked really good. Would go back and try that.

We went to @raclettenyc for lunch today. There was a potent horrible stench about the place that hit you as soon as you stepped in. It was incredibly rank, as if a child had just experienced diarrhea in the middle of the restaurant. On top of this, the one waitress provided terrible service, but eventually sat us. After 10 minutes of looking at the menu, with no one asking for beverages or stopping by the table, also noticing that the prices and menu didn't match website, we decided to just get up and leave. So we left and found this place called S'MAC only 1 block away. The Food there is SO GOOD. go there instead!

We just finished eating at Raclette. I’ve been wanting to go for YEARS. My first trip to New York and this was #1 on my list. The food was incredible. The the staff deserves 78 stars out of 5. Enthusiastic, great recommendations, professional, fun, friendly, the MOST helpful. Without a doubt the MOST helpful staff I have ever come across. I will sing their praises to every person I meet for as long as I live. The food smelled incredible. It looked incredible. It TASTED incredible. I will never forget my experience. If I had a million dollars to tip them, they would get 3 million dollars. Cannot thank you enough for your help, Raclette staff! I hope to come back and visit you soon. We ate at Raclette yesterday, first time at this location (went to their first smaller restaurant years ago and it was great!). Why are they serving fried cut potatoes instead of boiled fingerling potatoes?! They were so dried and the cheese was also very dried burnt and cold. The waitress poured cider in my glass containing white wine even though I told her “stop!”.. so my white wine was ruined and never saw a new glass of white white coming.. thank god I have a raclette at home !

Nice Restaurant but even with a reservation we had to wait for one hour on Christmas Eve. I think for the quality it would be better not to accept every reservation and set a limit for that. The food was okay but the prices for beverages are insane high. My Partner had a Burger with sweet potato fries but the fries weren't "fried" at all and verrry soggy. The staff was very friendly, even so they were very revised and stressed because of too many reservations.

Do you want melted cheese on that? Of course you do, who wouldn't! Amazing quality of food with a good variety of meats and cheeses. The place is very cozy so large parties may be a bit close. Also, their desserts are an amazing end cap to your meal. If you're in the area, definitely check it out.

The experience of watching the cheesy waterfall was the reason we went, and that didn't disappoint! I hadn't realized the cheese would cool so quickly, so we were left with a harder layer of cheese rather than a melty topping. It tasted good but was unexpected.

Food was great. Tables are incredibly small. What in the world are they thinking for larger groups. 4 people at a 30in wide x 20in deep table. Airplane seats are bigger. Extremely uncomfortable seating. They did move us to a slightly larger 36x20 table when asked but still not at all comfortable. But.. the service was amazing and the food was great.
