Terrific little Italian restaurant. Great atmosphere and very pleasant, accommodating and friendly staff. Reasonably fast service and the food was good; not perfect but well above average. I really enjoyed their pizza, the calamari was great and pasta worked as well. The Sangria was a bit on the weak side. Reasonable prices.

Always a fabulous meal - lunch or dinner!!

Jonathan Frink

The burrata and prosciutto dish was stunning. One of the best meals I’ve had. Very simple but delicious. Entrees were good too. Excellent fries. Pricey

Charles Gomis

It was amazing stupendo veramente meraviglioso!!! The team was so great and attentious. I''ll be back. Always

CeCe Lewis

The Pan Seared Barramundi made for a perfect dinner!

Gilles

Bit expensive but very good.

Naomi

I only go for happy hour at the bar, which is a great value and definitely worth it if you're in the area and want to unwind.

Charlene Silva

Good food, nice quiet atmosphere.

Al Cohen

Pleasant cafe, attentive service. There are flatscreens in the bar if you want to see a game too! I noticed quite economical weekday lunch specials.

Heidi Lubitz

I really liked the variety of food on the menu and the whole place has a sort of comforting feel to it. Although we were not able to order pizza at the time, everyone there could easily find something else on the menu they thought they would enjoy. The resturaunt has great and fast service, which every good restaurant needs, and a nice set up with their tables and bar. Petaluma is overall a great Italian restaurant to visit for special occasions and regular old ‘pizza night’ alike.

Food is great, nice atmosphere.

Ami Stuart

It was good, quiet, seated right away.

If you're on the Upper East Side looking for a spot that will satisfy multiple people this will not disappoint. You can order anything from cheese and meat plate, to calamari appetizers, pizza, and full entrees. They have inside and outside seating depending on the mood and this unpredictable weather. Not to mention full bar and bottomless brunch.

Rafael Rodriguez

Service was excellent and the food was great. They have a avocado toast top with a fried egg. That's actually two. And I had a cheesy mushroom omelette with a salad. You have a choice fries or home fries. The desserts was delicious. Beautiful place and staff very welcoming.

Samira Iqbal

We came to Petaluma for my sister's bday last night and the service was amazing! Nancy at the reception was super nice and helpful and the waiter that served us was great as well! The atmosphere was very cozy yet stylish and the food was great too. Overall an awesome experience, I would recommend this place!

Jeff Kubala

Enjoyed the food all around. The breakfast pizza was delicious. Chicken parmigiana and spaghetti and meatballs were also good. The ending of donutella for dessert was especially good.

Ellie Rosenwald

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! I go here every year for either my birthday, or a special occasion. The best food ever!!!!!!!! If you are thinking about going here but like somewhere else, just go here! It's amazing and the best food you'll get. Especially the pizza!!!!

Ruben Juarez

I love this place is so amazing

Karen Solorow

This restaurant has consistently gone downhill since under new management. Prices are up; food is still good (not great) but they charged me $12 for a side of potatoes? What's that about?? Not worth the repeat, sorry.

Jaja Nwokeabia

Went here for my birthday dinner. What a disaster. The bartender's beer tap randomly broke off and knocked over my wine glass, smashing the glass to pieces and splashing red wine onto my new outfit. Not his fault, but the bartender handled the situation very well and even comped my wine. The disaster bega when my friend and I were seated and fast found out our server was woefully incompetent and really spoiled an otherwise good meal. Bad customer service through out the night. She forgot to offer desert menu and espresso at the end of our meal. Barely poured our wine. And definitely seemed like a novice. I was surprised she's been there 2 years. Id go again... And eat at the bar.

Fantastic Italian dinner. I had shrimp scampi which was really good for a sauce less dinner. Th dessert was amazing as well. We had th chocolate and ice cream dish. Half odd wines in Wednesdays too!

Christina Spanos

Good people. Nice environment. Food was ok.

Josh Flowers

Love the bar pizza, lite bites and pastas, enjoyed by our whole family

Kathy Klein

Great pizza!

Oleksandr Gnatenko

Неплохой итальянский ресторан. Хорошая пицца

Donna Besse

Called restaurant AT 10:55 AM. 7/25. to order gift card for sister-in-laws birthday. Gave email to Eric and was told a form would be sent to it to enter credit card. waited all day then called back at 5:01 p.m. and Kevin answered and said he would check to see what happened and call me back. That didn't happen. So therefore, on to a restaurant that wants my business!

Mark Alonso

Great new neighborhood place, but nice enough for a date. But getting pricier

Monika Safford

Decent food but not creative. Service leaves a lot to be desired...I requested room temperature water and got ice, but when I repeated my request it was clear the staff person spoke no English. We froze under frigid air blasting from an air conditioning vent. Near the bar it can get quite noisy and make conversation a challenge. Many Italian options nearby, this restaurant could get on its game a little more. You probably won't have a bad meal here but it may not be memorable either.

Nicole Thaw

I live on the UES and come here all the time. I am gluten free and they offer a lot of options. I also pick up the pizza a lot. The gluten free penne ala vodka is my go to. They have healthy options as well, the salads are really good as well as the zoodle noodles. The bar is a nice place to sit and I meet my girlfriends here a lot for happy hour. We always share a pizza and some wine. The atmosphere is really chill and a great all occasion type of place. It is for sure my neighborhood staple and the candy store next door is really good as well.

Kay Renée

totally sucked, do not eat here

Victor Jung

Best value and great tasting Italian in the neighborhood. The udon carbonara, chicken scarpiello, and housemade gnocchi Bolognese are to die for.

Valirjana Gashi

If you are ever in the UES or live in the area Petaluma is a must! The pastas are to die for, best cheat day meal I have had in a very long time. The margherita pizza fresh out of the wood fired oven is out of this world, the aroma and taste made me feel like I was back in Italy. Definitely recommend to everyone, you will not be disappointed!

Dan Goodstein

Great staff, good food , friendly neighborhood place with good vibe

Nick M

Best Restaurant on the Upper East Side

dante berns

Good local place to eat

Selma B

Great place for special events. We celebrated a friend's birthday and they gave us the entire back room which was great and the service was perfect.

popsi Kiemkodogo

Great place for a wine and nice and clean spot

Tom Orvis

Food was good, but overpriced for the quality. Not overpriced for the area. Cocktails were quite good.

Danya Katok

Excellent restaurant! Wonderful food, ambience, and everyone was so friendly and helpful...the hostess, server, even the owner came up to us to say hello. I'd highly recommend this place!

Muzzi Vengullny

Best menu ever..

Jack Juprasert

Authentic Italian food. Clean restaurant with great service

Howard K Simon

Excellent food. Good value.

Larry Yudin

New ownership installed a manager named Jorge who has ZERO restaurant experience and Zero people skills. The pizza used to be good but now comes out soggy. They cut too many corners to save money it shows in the food quality. The drinks are never freely poured its too carefully measured.Food is way over priced for the quality they give. Many dishes are bland & not properly seasoned.Very tired place.

Anthony Totten

I frequent the upper east side often and this is one of my favorite places. A very cozy, neighborhood Italian restaurant with a solid wine list and some of the best brick oven pizza in NYC. Staff is always friendly and remember me. Definitely recommend this place when you are in the neighborhood.

Boris Artemyev

Service non existent

Roger Shields

Tasty Italian_American fare, reasonable prices, great service. It can be a bit crowded and noisy, but you can see why it's popular

Andrea Hill

Fast, reasonable prices, good food. Great place for quick lunch. Lovely interior and excellent service.

Nic Farhi

Disappointing on several fronts, not least the fact that the pizza oven was broken and they only told us when we tried to order one

Luca Carraro

Four and a half stars. Really enjoyed the pizza as they have the wood fire oven here. Great brunch all across the table.

Nandini Mazumdar

The angel hair, shrimp pasta was DIVINE. Big fan, will definitely return.

Sahana Rao

Good food with great service. The eggplant ravioli is a great vegetarian option.

Isabella Bennett-Caso

Petaluma is one of my favorite Italian Restaurants and has been an UES gem for as long as I can remember! Every-time I go here I'm treated like family. The staff are always so attentive and pleasant. Not to mention that the food is great! I bring my niece and nephew here all the time for the Pizza - not only because it is so delicious but, they love watching it be made right in front of them. Not only is Petaluma great for family dinners but the outdoor patio is great for lunch dates!

Sandrine Joëlle Petit

Loud, crowded, slow. Decent food, but nothing extraordinary. The computer system was down and many tables, including us, had to wait quite a bit of time - over 30 mins - before anyone would even agree to take cash. They did make up for it by offering us dessert, but we don't normally eat dessert so that wasn't really helpful to us, and we just wanted to leave. I wouldn't tell someone not to go, but I would share my experience and indicate that I have no interest in going back.

Mimi Chen

Edna Mascreen

Went here for a friend's birthday party. The party room was small but private. Friendly staff. The food was amazing!

Meryl Strauss

We were 9 for Sunday brunch. The restaurant was not very crowded, there were empty tables. We were seated promptly at 1 pm or so, ordered soon after that but did not receive our food until 2:40 pm. The food was very good once it got to the table, although the eggs on the Avocado Toast were too well done, the waiter was nice--but it took FOREVER to get our meals..close to 1.5 hours for brunch food..ABSURD!..we honestly thought the chef walked out...never got offered any bread or something for the table. We asked to speak to the manager, he never came to the table either. Even though the food was good, we will not be back which is unfortunate because the restaurant is close in proximity. Very frustrating experience for a birthday celebration.

Alexandria Lynn

This place is a true neighborhood gem! Food is always tasty no matter what you get! Staff is always on point! I can bring my mother here, or a group of friends. Brunch is also great with the bottomless mimosas for $19.99 for 90 minutes! Would recommend this place any day.

Elisabeth Butterfield

Delightful butternut squash gnocchi and delicious pizza from the brick oven

Gentle Me

Food was okay, service was bad. I went there for lunch with a friend. After we ordered and received our courses we were looking for our server and for any other server to bring us some salt but no one was in the dining area for at least 5 minutes. By the time we found someone and by the time we received salt the food was cold. For such overpriced dishes I would expect better service and better food. The decotation though looks great.

Ricky Smith

What a fantastic place! Atmosphere, food, service- everything was excellent!

Hayley Hoffman

Outstanding service and the food is always delicious.

Jess Sparacio

Warm and homey ambiance, delicious food, great portions

Sean Williams

Nice atmosphere and excellent food.

Nancy Judge

Hot sticky Friday , dining with my husband---in hot weather t-shirts, looking for filling, not fancy, happy crowd. Found it here: thick cold, (marinara-style) gazpacho with avocado garnish, five or six different rose wines from which to choose, kitchen-sink style salad with crisp-skinned salmon, steak and fries (no wine) for him. Service was impeccable and personal, water glasses filled several times before self-service bottle appeared. Apology for inconsequential delay in glass of wine's arrival.. $100 including 20+% tip. Crowd noisy but suited our mood.

PC Field

Let's just say that great employees are hard to find, the pizza guy is amazing, random wait staff are on top of their game, every other bartender is ok to better than ok....

Marcio Profili

Excellent place and service, the menu has a great food and wines and the location is really good.

Jimmy Tobin

You cannot order bar menu unless sitting directly at bar. You cannot sit adjacent to bar or anything. My family who cannot physical sit in high bar chairs were accommodated and thus we left

Ian N.

It was average food. A bit bland, but still good. Atmosphere is what it is about. Staff was nice as well.

Larry Mlawski

Great food. Lovely staff. Good drinks.

David Tonking

Flexible menu, quality food

Ednar Debrosse

Very cute Italian place. The cocktails were delish and the wood-fire pizza was very good. I am for sure telling my friends about this place.

Dan Friedmann

Outstanding ... flavor packed foods, well prepared. And served with class. We will be back.

Roger Silverberg

What an incredible experience. We came and hung out by the bar with Robert. He was very welcoming and helped us navigate through the wine list as well as the menu. We had a delicious bottle of Super Tuscan to go along with our calamari and penne vodka which we split as an appetizer. For our main course, Robert made us his version of a tequila 'old fashioned' which was a very refreshing take on the traditional old fashioned. I had the atlantic salmon which was cooked to perfection and my wife had the chicken francaise which was unbelievable (I had half of her's) Will most certainly be coming back and recommend this to everyone!

Martin Prince

Excellent, we had a group of 25 and all sat at one large table in the back in a secluded area. Very nice

Reuben G

Great ambience. However I thought the food be better. Not horrible but not yet great. A little bit of a let down.

Max Fuoco

Terrible imitation of Italian cuisine. A lot of butter in the sauce, poor taste overall

Lila Jung

I love the wood fired margherita pizza. The chicken scarpiello and spaghetti carbonara are my favorite dishes. The selection of sorbets are vast but donutella is my favorite.

lola casanova

Good service & food experience

KarenLee M Sigler

This is a reliable local spot that's been around (morphing with the times) for awhile. There is something for everyone and an easy feel to bring there. Food is good.

Mark Stonebanks

Great neighborhood restaurant and great service

Jamaal Patterson

This is good Italian food, that is a high praise coming from a guy from Brooklyn.

Chad Morton

Emily A

Went for a friend's birthday and it was delicious, I don't know how the prices are though.

Jeffrey Stein

Good food and easy for children.

Joseph Colella

Group event .....large crowd .....done expertly

Aránzazu Ascunce

Calamari, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, fried to perfection. Attentive barman too

barry Abrams

Good food and good service.

Liliana Wajnberg

Ótima opção para pizza e macarrão sem glúten

James Choung

fantastic italian restaurant - I brought my family here for a catch up dinner and was super impressed. very affordable wine list and the staff provided excellent service. we shared many dishes, the chicken parm, a few pizzas (they have a wood fired oven), branzino and a few others. VERY TASTY & affordable and a beautiful restaurant. Will be coming back and telling my friends!

Mattias Levineson

Great vibe, wood oven pizza to die for, sexy clientele after 9pm, and wide selection of wines by the glass. The staff is attentive. The food is just right. They also deliver on Caviar, Uber and Postmates. The whole wheat primavera is tasty and my favorite.

Sara Stark

They have an amazing brunch menu, a little pricey but worth it for bottomless mimosas. The dinner menu is pretty basic Italian but the food and service were good. Great pizzas.

Bayran Arrieta

(Translated by Google) Great service (Original) Buen servicio

David Kaminsky

Really good food service was awesome and the fried olives made me happy

Edna Banks

A large restaurant with seating in multiple areas, including outdoors. It was filled with local families, couples and a jumping bar scene. Service was friendly and helpful. The menu is varied and has something for everyone. While we did not have the pizza, many were served all around us. The veal and chicken dishes were all very good, with very large portions. Drinks were well made, and a nice selection of wines by the glass. Salads were very fresh and attractive. We will have to try dessert next time we come.

B Kayani

Great food. Good and fast delivery with Postmates and Caviar

Darren King

Our new favorite Italian in the UES. Petaluma's wood-fired pizza oven is the star of the show, churning out beautiful thin-crust pizzas. The pasta is delicious, and you have the choice of bar or formal dining. Just try it!

Nicole Kats

I live nearby and I absolutely enjoy sitting at the bar. Food is delicious and has a high-end quality without the pretentiousness. Friendly bartenders....great drinks. I am very picky and i have no complaints. Excuse my screen name, my son uses my phone :)

Arnaldo Ferreira

Excelente lugar para comer y degustar un vino como también una cerveza.. dispone de autentica comida italiana preparada por muy buenos chef . Oh y no podemos olvidar sus postres! Sin lugar a dudas este es un restaurante formal

Alec Massoui

Fantastic service and a great time. Came here for my birthday with a few of my friends. The food was delicious and the wine selection was thorough for a group of wine aficionados such as us. David the GM brought a round of birthday shots for us at the end of our meal, was a nice touch.

Carol Smith

Good pasta, comfortable environment and attentive service.

R K

The hostess was not interested in us. We asked for a round table and were told the restaurant had none (we were eventually seated at a round table). The service was poor. Worst of all, the food was mediocre (some dishes good & some not so good). We won't be returning!!

SandyandHoward Weiswasser

Either the waiter or the kitchen doesn't pay attention; for example rare fish comes out medium and then at least one person doesn't get to eat with the others. Need to get their act together.

Amy Banet

how is this one of the few remaining staples of the upper east side..it is so not special

Robert Landi

Foods just ok. Overpriced.

MII Installer

Went for a birthday party. Was buffet style service. Had mesculin salad, meat balls, chicken francais, fried calamari and penne a la vodka. All was very good. Pleanty of food and drink. Was a nice easy going party.

barbara o'hare

Can't say enough about the new menu and new executive chef. After waiting for more than a year for the renovations, I can honestly say it was worth the wait. The food was excellently prepared and presented. We tried Nona's Fried Pasta with Meatballs, and we were brought back to Nona's kitchen with it's delicious smells and tastes. A crisp circle of lightly fried angel hair pasta was topped with a meatball and rich tomato gravy that could only be a secret family recipe. Combining Udon noodles with a carbonara sauce, chunks of bacon and a soft cooked egg to mix in was a stoke of genius with a taste that can only be described as decadent...with no apologies needed. We will be returning again and again...and only hope that when the word about this gem gets out there will still be room for us!

Fin Zak

Love this restaurant! The best Italian food in town. The staff is always friendly and they remember who I am every time I come in! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a wonderful night out on the town, dinner date, or business dinner. Incredible experience all around.

camilla clini

La pizza italiana migliore di NY. Marco è un pizzaiolo bravissimo, sa davvero fare il suo lavoro e prepara pizze fantastiche

Arthur Shapiro

Awful experience at this restaurant. The hosts were, shall I say, amateurish. The server was less than capable. But worst of all, the food was awful. And, when we complained we receive 1) a shrug (as if to say we know that) and 2) no attempt to make things right. Too bad, they haven't improved from the previous situation, in fact, they made it worse. I feel I need to warn others.

Lila Mestas

Love!

Mollie Book

Butternut squash gnocchi was delicious! Decently sized portions, attentive servers, tasty wine. Highly recommend the affogato!

Roslyn Rogers Collins

This has to be one of my worst dining experiences ever. Not only was my meal and drink mediocre at best, I found the wait staff incredibly rude. Rarely do I complain at restaurants and this may be my first negative post ever, despite eating at dining establishments all around the world. I ordered a Long Island ice tea (which I drink occasionally so I know how it is supposed to taste) and sent my drink back because it was terrible. Another drink was bought to the table and with that came the constant smirks and glances from the waiters, delivery person and restaurant staff. Not sure what all of that was about and I really don’t care. What a waste of $100!!! Never ever again.

Scott Wolfe

Always a crowd pleaser! Delicious food, nice atmosphere, quiet back room for larger parties

Mariya Aranda

Great place for after work drinks. I haven’t tried the food. But will definitely come back for that too.

Marty knoell

Great

Elizabeth J

Okay italian food and terrible service. Order traditional appetizers and pastas. They were just okay. They were also not a great value.... service was terrible. We had to ask for bread three times. We also had to request forks for our second course. It is difficult to eat pasta without a fork or any flatware for that matter.... As an aside, the artichoke dip was mostly spinach. Not bad tasting but not artichoke dip. They need to change the menu or change the ingredients. Live and learn. There are much better Italian restaurants in a 2 block radius.

Jackie Rosa

I was invited to a birthday brunch here and I have to say I loved everything about this place. The food was amazing, I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and was just perfect. My husband ordered the Steak and Eggs and the steak was perfectly cooked and very tender. The service was also really good, our waitress was very attentive and personable.

Mme Hortense

This place is pretentious and overpriced. It has the vibe of a hotel bar but the service of a dive bar. My boyfriend asked which beers they had on tap and the waitress pointed to the bottled beer section. I had a cocktail which was good but expensive, tiny and served in a tumbler packed with ice. We paid in cash and the waitress short-changed us. My boyfriend went and asked for the right change and she still got it wrong.

Yana Avdeenko

The best Ceasar salad I've eaten so far! Spinach artichoke pizza with thin crust was good as well - first authentic New York brick oven pizza we had in the city. Cozy atmosphere, fresh lilac at the entrance. Left a good impression

Robert Zappa

it was pretty nice food! just dont go during summer. brick oven could break! :(

farhan mamun Maqfy
