Great
Good food, wine, service and atmosphere. Will go again when in NY.
Great French cuisine in a friendly atmosphere
We really enjoyed our dinner at Pergola des Artistes. Rhe food and drinks were perfection. In fact, we will be going again Monday night the 30th. Great place for before or after theatre.
Excellent culinary experience. The service is outstanding and offers a real French vive. Make you reservation in advance because the place gets packed.
Excellent
After couple days in NYC and somehow tired of restaurant food, we were looking for a "home made" taste; I found this restaurant on tripadvisor and although it was not ranked pretty high (not sure how the ranking works, I guess amount of reviews is one of the criteria since this one had pretty good reviews all over but hot as many as the top ones), the reviews were consistent. We got exactly what we were looking for: A small, cozy, hidden restaurant in a side street! Nothing fancy or shiny, just a perfect place with a REAL french menu! Everything on the menu was REAL french, not crappy "french fusion" or any sort of B.S! The place is a 20-table restaurant, owned by an old french lady since 26 years ago (I heard some people asking her about it). The food was the best part! Just like my mom cooked it! Real home-taste food with real meat and real potatoes! Not only the food was we were looking for (real french home-made cuisine) but it is the least expensive french restaurant I've ever been; they had a 3-course meal with a glass of wine for less than $25!! It is just good food with a homey feeling, do not expect "Front-cover-magazine" presentation or exotic dishes, just real food served like home. I really felt like in France in a traditional French country side restaurant.
Delicious & great service! Merci!
Great place

Food was amazing but funny smell like mouldy carpet
Love this little place hidden in the corner on 46th Street between Broadway and Eighth Ave. Food is always delicious and love the dessert selection. Sure you are a bit tight in the seating but that is what makes it feel authentic along with the décor and fine wait staff. Prices are very reasonable and even more so on the lunch special menu! Give it a try!!!!
Have been coming to this small French restaurant any time I am in the city on the weekends. The food and service are excellent, the food is delicious and staff is very attentive.
Amazing food - authentic French and even more amazing are the owner Chris and his amazing crew!
We had lunch here before the Wed. matinee for Hamilton. We arrived at 11:45 and did not get our food until 1:10 in spite of asking the waiters multiple times to please check on it. Others who came in a long time after us were served before us. Certainly not a relaxing lunch before our wonderful theater experience. Other patrons were also having extreme trouble getting their food served before their matinees. The waiters showed a real lack of concern. Thank goodness we had enough cash to pay for our lunch so that we did not have to wait for our credit cards to be run.
Was in NYC with friends who kept taking me to chain restaurants. Finally I said let’s walk a little further and look for something more Authentic NYC Found this awesome French restaurant in the Broadway district. The food was truly amazing and staff was very friendly and courteous The food Really was delicious. You must try it, I certainly will when I’m back in NYC
Simply amazing food and service.
Nice !
Love this place. Chris makes you feel like a guest in his house. Throw back to old New York with great food made by people who take pride in what they do. It’s the one place in Times Square you’ll come back to even if you aren’t seeing a show.
This is my go-to place when attending shows on Broadway. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Service is polite, friendly and prompt but not rushed. Try the duck - best I've ever had anywhere!
Great atmosphere
15th Anniversary Delight, super night. Held table while we were stuck in traffic since we had a reservation. Perfect menu, GF pasta options, stellar service. Pear and ice cream dessert and cheesecake both were stellar! Loved the Eggplant Napoleon. Everyone at our table ate everything. Duck, steak, it was all cooked superbly and every ate every bit. Would go back in a minute. Also was super super close to Frozen, Phantom and Anastasia. Less than five minute walk. And parking garages are near by. It was the perfect family owned feeling NYC restaurant. I wish I could go back tonight! I'd even order the eggplant all over again....
Great food and lovely people. I can't wait to return.
Great food n service.
Food is very good, but the wait staff was not up to par
Lovely! Wonderful coq au vin (for the matinee special, it comes with a glass of wine) and amazing chocolate mousse. I'll be back. :)
Good
Yum. Bit dated. Staff warm and friendly.
Great place!

Try the home made ravioli!!
Great great service. Little loud. Little rushed.
Consistently excellent food, ambiance and service!
Great little corner restaurant by time square
Awesome food!
Food was very good and the kind people who work there even returned an item I had forgotten on the table! They went way beyond in customer service. Thank you
Great inexpensive lunch
Beautifully prepared classic French food. Their stuffed mushrooms are one of my faves. Frogs legs, duck, short rib, steak, fish, stuffed pork chop, chocolate mousse.
Nice quick pre theater dinner
Wonderfulllllll
if was fine food but it is a little expensive but other then that great
Excellent service and food..
Service was slow; this was probably due to our waiter multitasking as maître d, bartender, answering phone, etc. We had to ask him about our order twice, once with the soup and the second with the entree. Considering this was a Thursday pre-theater dinner and the place was not that full, I could just imagine how they manage on a busier day. Food was nothing to write home about. French onion soup was salty. Crispy duck was dry and not too crispy. My wife did not like the lobster bisque (very few lobster meat in it). I would not come back here and would not recommend this place. We should have eaten at a restaurant along restaurant row just a block away on 46th St. where we've had better eating experience.
Our favorite French comfort food restaurant in all of New York. Christian, Lawrence, Chris and the rest of the staff made our party of 4 a spectacular five course dining experience that will be forever remembered. The attention to details, the outstanding service and personal touches are the mark of this fine dining establishment. For the lover of excellent food, wines beverages and that little something extra, Pergola Des Artiste is a must dine with family run classic. In a sea of overpriced, underwhelming, hyped restaurants, Pergola stands tall for its unique quality food with old world flavor.
The owner is jovial and really understands what customer service is. Food is good-- standard French fare done well. Decent wine list. Reasonably priced. Small low key no frills place amongst the neon chain restaurants in the area.
Great place
Loved it met/ exceeded ky expectations
Good small French restaurant in the theater district.
A homey restaurant located on the theater district. Dishes are pretty tasty, but a bit overpriced (even in pre-fix menus). Space is pretty tight. The staff is very friendly and attentive.
Confusing menu with few actual French dishes on it. Quality of food poor. Totally empty of diners except us once theater started. Would never recommend

Excellent food and excellent service! One of the best burgers in the Theater District and their ragouts are out of this world. I highly recommend the Duck ragout. Chris and Benny take of me every time.
Fabulous food in an ideal location if you're heading to a show.
Had the Beef Wellington special. Absolutely delicious. Cheesecake was wonderful too.
Great for dining before a show. Cozy atmosphere, delicious food and totally New York staff, prompt yet courteous. Highly recommend!! Steve Semrau
One of the better meals I've had in the US. French dining, by the way, isn't fast, so don't plan on a drive by meal. Some reviews complained about speed and service, dinner was 1 hr 45 min which is typical. Awesome location right by the Richard Rogers Theatre for a Hamilton showing. The scallops were perfect, shrimp cocktail super fresh, beef was like the best pot roast you could have and I even ate my carrots. Also, multi course dinner for 2 with tip and wine = $125 in NYC, next to the theatre, a block from time square. Win.
We enjoyed our 50th on their 50th.
Great lunch in nyc

Always delicious. Had tge sauteed soft shell crabs . Chris and his staff Always are great!
Great food and service.
Excellent fixed menu and ex excellent food and service
A gem of the theatre district. Great French comfort food.
Reasonably priced food and good matinee specials.
Excellent food and service!
Great food and service. The nightly specials are always amazing
Always awesome. One of NYCs Best Kept Secrets, a real hidden gem
Wonderful casual Pyrenees French restaurant - affordable prices, meal comes with wine and amazing bread - delicious food and excellent service. I visit every time I'm in NYC!
Went to see Phantom of the Opera! #Fascinating the Phantom and Christine sang their hearts out, string voices, loved, loved, loved it!
I was first introduced to Chris by my dad. Dad would come home from working in the city and tells us about his lunch meetings at Pergola Des Artistes, and the vivid description of the food and specials always vivid and sounding astonishing. When my son was born, I wanted him to experience culture that only NYC could deliver. So we decided to make going to see a Broadway play and having a nice dinner a tradition. We eventually added more family and friends and we would always have dinner with Chris and his family at Pergola Des Artistes. Chris would go the extra mile to make us feel warm and welcome. He always had a kind word, and took special attention to our family. At first I thought well it's because of knowing Dad. Then one evening I sat at a small table and watch quietly Chris and his family work, they treated everyone who came in as if they were family with same kind words and small talk that makes you feel at home. This was my kind of restaurant! Now the most important part the food, which is made fresh daily with the same zest as the front of the house and bar. I don't think I have enough adjectives to describe the culinary delights that arrive at your table. The same thoughtful manner that you were greeted with, also shows in how well they prepare fresh meals to the individual liking. Trust me I have one very picky eater and she declared that this was her new birthday restaurant which is a very very big deal! Everything on the menu is from the heart, and cooked the same way. If you're doing dinner followed by a show, no worries Chris and his family and staff have the timing for all the shows down, just politely let them know. Hard work does pay off, and this lesson I love to pass onto the guests that I share a meal here with. So stop on by, and let the food warm your soul! Families are encouraged and who knows we may end up having dinner together experiencing NYC at it's finest!
Delicious food, quaint restaurant with good service. The coq au vin was tender and tasty, and the scallops were perfectly done. Best kir I’ve had in the States. Well priced too!
Really nice atmosphere. Nice and cozy. Waiters are nice. Great food and deserts! I ordered lobster bisque and duck *picture* (waiter said it is the most popular dish). They have 2 options, 2 or 4 course menus.
The service was very slow & the food was very adverage . No one at our table ate much of their meals and some had to be sent back. We had to ask 4 different staff for a drink that no one brought to us so when the 5th wait staff walked by we asked for the cheque instead , we then waited for a long time for this to arrive. When it did they had already added the tip in the bill.
Lo máximo, exquisitez y delicia
The food is amazing! Love everything I have had here! Great prices for lunch! Friendly people...excellent personal service provided by Chris, the owner!
Always great food, speedy and personal service before a Broadway show
Wonderful food at reasonable prices. Have returned several times for the Coq au Vin.
Good French food
Zach and I came for Fathers Day Weekend, the day before going to the Open. It was absolutely delicious old time French food. Will be back!!!

Great food, horrible service! They then stand over you as you have to add the tip and sign their personal phones to close out the bell. Very intimidating.
Awesome

A cozy, old world and dimly lit restaurant. The door entrance is very small and is easy to miss from both sides of 46th st. This place offers a vast wine selection and id highly recommend their lobster bisque or French onion soup. The restaurant has been family owned since 1963. I cannot underscore how much I value independent businesses.
Food good service bad
What a wonderful surprise in the middle of the theater district. Hidden amongst multiple tourist traps, this is a gem of an authentic French restaurant. The food and the service show their passion for good quality food at an affordable price. I would definitely come here before a show or even to dine with no show awaiting. The prefix menu has ample choices. Its unassuming from the outside so keep an eye out. And dont pass this ine buy.
We were on a walking tour and had a sample from this restaurant. It was good just not my favorite
A hidden gem! We went there pre-theater and had the duck (pictured). Excellently prepared and the present was so pretty. I started with the French onion soup , my husband had the salad. He likes the vinaigrette as he said it had a hint of mustard that was tasty. Service was spot-on as well. We had a lot of wine (don’t judge me) and they ended up giving us several glasses on the house. Love this spot, especially the atmosphere-very warm and cozy!
just awesome
Classic French Bistro food. Fun wait staff, food good and theatre pre fixe definitely gives you your money's worth
Great local French restaurant great food great staff it was delicious and not expensive from Manhattan. If you going to see a show it's perfect
Amazing food and the service extraordinary
A very friendly place
Always great food and service!
Quaint, good food friendly service.

90 years of family service and tradition. Wonder food, great selection. Owner bent over backwards for us with great customer service. You could tell it wasn't just a business to him, but he was kind to his staff and offered them a free ticket for Broadway someone offered. His mother's funeral was the we came and her dying wish was for him to go back to the restaurant and keep it going. We would have never known, service was great. I am gluten free and enjoyed my GF pasta with duck and wonderful veggies such as seared brussel sprouts, aspergus and French onion soup. Mom's steak was amazing.

One of my favorite places to eat. The food is excellent and the staff is amazing. It is like eating at t your friends house. They all treat you like you are a friend of the family. I brought my parents who are from out of town before we saw a show. They LOVED IT! And they were so kind to make sure we werent late to our show. Seriously you have to go. Best place!
What variety!
We decided to pop in for dinner right before a show and it did not disappoint. The french onion soup rich and had the perfect flavor and delicious saltiness. The cheese was gooey just like you would want. I got the crispy duck and it was moist and the sauce was great. My wife got the coq au vin, the sauce was good, but the chicken was a bit on the dry side. Overall though it was quite good and not too expensive (for New York).
The food was wonderful and hit the spot!
I love this place. It has a wonderful pre matinee menu with great food and it includes a glass of wine. Service is great and same family has owned it for 55 years
Homey atmosphere. Great food at an excellent price right in the theatre district. Very personable staff!
Everything we ordered we loved. My only complaint is that the place was a little musty
Nice indeed
