I very rarely give poor reviews, but this place deserves it. First the good: service was polite and overall-acceptable. The margaritas are pricey, not terribly strong, but taste good. The bad is the food. Literally the worst food I've ever had at a restaurant. Overcooked hard tortillas, chewy cold strips of beef, and beans that look straight out of a can. All of this for $15, and barely edible. It's amazing to be this huge restaurant can survive in this city. Avoid at all costs.

Love the frozen drinks and the quesadilla, it's a nice place for a late night hangout. The service is a bit slow during rush out and the dinner crowd.

Fifteen minutes to get a water. Thirty minutes to get a single margarita. Little under and hour to get my food.. Straight up unacceptable service. I order a chorizo chimmichanga, but I recieved what tasted like a hot dog within a knish. Not normally this critical, but this place was THAT bad. Go eat the dollar pizza up the block.

Tasty nachos and quesadillas but I would't put their margaritas on the list of the top 6 as they proclaim. The service is a bit slow outside but the people watching and street view is worth the longer waits. The drinks are a bit pricey and the food is nothing to brag about. I do appreciate the great location and fun atmosphere.

Service is strange - honest about a significant wait, but quick when present. We did not eat food, but chips and salsa were great. Margarita was not exceptional nor bad and $50/ a very large pitcher. Not good nor bad value given it is the Village... Having said that, it took 8-10 minutes to be seated.

Whilst my time in NYC was highlighted by several great meals out, this place stuck in my mind... if not my bowels. I don't know if it was due to unsanitary conditions in the kitchens or badly prepared food, but I was ill for 2 days after visiting this place. To top it off, the staff seemed barely interested and there wasn't a clean table top in the building. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Super huge space. Very competitively-priced decent Mexican food. Mostly prepared and served in heaping portions - it comes fast, and is a bit addictive. Cheap well drinks, and pitchers. Seems like it's mostly a college or hyper local crowd, that stays open late, and is tough to find crowded. Kind staff, and clean throughout.

The food is pretty terrible, probably the worst Mexican food I've had in the city. Margaritas are ok, but also not as good as elsewhere. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the one time I went I had a very nice, funny server.

Food tasted horrible, they gave my girlfriend ground beef instead of steak in hopes we wouldn't notice. They gave me "chorizo" which looked like a hot dog cut up. The drinks were subpar, watered down. I'm surprised they're still open. The drunks must keep this place open and vibing.

Waited 15 minutes to order cokes to drink, which turned out to be completely flat. The server snatched the menu out of one of my dinner companions' hands to check whether the item he asked for actually existed. Food order came out wrong. They tried to give me a "bug burrito" instead of chimichangas. When I tried to tell the server. He said "no. That's yours" I said "no, I ordered chimichangas." He then pointed to my friend across from me. (She had also gotten- and received- chimichangas). I said "no we both ordered them. " and he got me some finally. The food was edible. It did not make me sick. That is the only positive.

My friends and I were ignored for about 50 minutes while people who came in after us were served immediately. No one came to check on us, take our order, or even offer us water. Don't even bother stepping into this place. We left without ordering and frankly doubt if anyone noticed we were gone.

We have been eating here for over 30 years. The food is excellent and at a great price. Definitely don't skip the nachos. They are fantastic! Love the combo plates too. You won't be sorry.

I feel like Panchito's food quality and service has declined over the past few years, but they're always packed. I don't get it. The food is expensive and the margaritas are pricey and not even THAT strong. I guess it's still a good place for a birthday dinner, since they have interesting seating (couches and the like), but I am not likely to return.

After our waitress disappeared for 20 minutes, we sent someone to find her. After finally locating her, there was some unpleasant back and forth ruining a really nice eveining. AVOID THIS PLACE
