Format of precooked lunch specials have been changed. Now you order and wait with those who are actually ordering from the menu. Just unnecessarily make it so much longer for people that just want quickly grab something from precooked. Also noticed that the portions are getting ridiculously meager. Ordered a green curry with roasted chicken, all I got were 5 thin sliced chicken and the curry was like filling only 1/3 of the tiny bowl. You got to be at least honest with the portions. I am not paying ten bucks to be half full. Otherwise tasty food.

I've tried a lot of Thai places in the area and by far Obao is the best! I recommend the Massaman Curry Chicken, it's the best curry I've ever had anywhere. Their sauce game is on a whole other level. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is very clean. Prices aren't too bad.

Worst Thai food I ever had, one bite and then threw it in the trash. The chicken was old and like rubber, noodles were watery and soaked in what tasted like vinegar. Just terrible.

They have really good noodle soups and lunch box options. I really like the Tum Yum Noodles. The service is good. The wait could get a bit long during lunch hours in the fidi district which is understandable.

Very efficient service, usually pretty crowded for the lunch rush - high quality Asian cuisine (price to match, but not overly so). Almost always order the pad thai, but they have a wide selection of really different tastes, as well as everyday specials. Pretty clean, seating area is a few chairs around a ledge on the perimeter - overall good food/ dining experience.

Best tasting Thai and Vietnamese place in the Financial District and possibly NYC. Too bad it's just for lunch during work, and geared towards takeout. Wish they had tables. Gets packed, get here early or use their free delivery.

It wasn't the best I've tried and it wasn't the worst. Both dishes we tried had yummy flavours. Has a take out vibe as food is not brought to you. Also had the veggie spring rolls but they were not very good.

Great Asian food, in particular their Pho Bo and their Chicken Fried Rice. Their Pad Kee Mao, Pad See Iew and Banh Mi sandwiches are delicious, too. It's a bit expensive for lunch but it's worth the price. Their lunch boxes, though, aren't as good.

I went there twice. Both times they skimped on the veggies. My noodle dish was overcooked and bland. The curry was basically a giant bowl of sauce with some very dry chicken floating in it.

We tried this place on a whim as we were craving pho for brunch. Solid broth though wished there was more tendon and tripe in my bowl. There was a lot of noodle in my bowl though. Still enjoyed this place as the service was pleasant.

This is the take out version of the restaurant uptown, and it's pretty good--I'd suggest ordering the lunch box or banh mi deals over the noodle dishes though because for some reason I get stomach issues when I go for those and I don't seem to be the only one

Banh mi was mostly bread with very little beef and scant veg garnish...literally 4 individual pieces of cilantro. Pretty disappointed, but the other food in the window looked good.

Went for dinner takeout for my husband and myself. We both love Thai and Vietnamese food and were underwhelmed. OK price, but felt like still lunch portions...that being said we didn't finish what we ordered because it just wasn't that tasty and was a little gritty. maybe it was what we ordered - bbq beef bowl and chicken noodles spicy. usually you get liquid bbq sauce to dip, none given. no lime also. maybe I had to ask. I really wanted this place to be better.

I eat here 2-3 times a week. I have never had a bad meal here. It is always full of flavor. The flank steak bÁnh mÌ is amazing and I love the chili mayo which rounds out this sandwich perfectly. The chiang mai curry noodles is an out of this world dish. Full of flavor. It's just yummy deliciousness. Also, the people that work there are very kind.

We loved OBAO! The food is delicious, but be careful because some are a bit too hot! And it is real nice to eat outside in the sun. The young ones attending at the store are real nice and patient.

Surprisingly good Thai place given its location. There's a very reasonably price lunch option that lets you choose two entrees over rice. There's always a "dish of the day" to keep it interesting. Have lunch here.

I love OBAO and usually go to the midtown east location. Just ordered the Pho Bo take out. Got a small bowl of broth with four pieces of Beef. Asked for veggies instead of noodles and it was a $2 extra charge not to mention, it was three pieces of brocolli, onions and a couple carrot slices. Walked out paying $15. Extremely disappointed with the OBAO in the financial district. Portions were much smaller and for the amount I paid, it barely had any meat. I will not be ordering from this location again.

Ordered the lunch box with basil chicken, mixed veggies and brown rice. Paid $1.00 extra for brown rice and the girl literally counted the grains. The basil chicken... what chicken? All I got was hot and spicy onions. The cabbage had black spots on it... Not going back.

This is THE place for Jazz. Being here a few times and got great music and nice food. This time Ramsey Lewis on the piano and John Pizzarelli on the guitar made the show. Fantastic! If you want quality show, this is the place.

Tamarind Crispy chicken lunch entree was 95% fried pieces of batter, 4% fried chicken skin, and 1% chicken. Went back, and politely said I got all crispy and no chicken, they piled some nice large pieces on, but there was no meat inside, looked like chicken skin. Cabbage had black spots, which is OK to eat, but unsightly. Overall pretty bad, the Chinese food buffet is better, Num Pang should be your Thai go to in this area for lunch.
