Absolutely love the Tasmanian Sea Trout! I eat it every time! Simply irresistible!!

This used be our favorite lunch place in the city for its prix fixe menu. And I had previously gave it 5-star reviews. But our most recent visit was disappointing. Though $38 for three courses was still a good value, the service, quality of food, and portion size had all gone down. Our server hurried us to make lunch selections and was pushy on drink orders. I used to love their Shrimp Salad, but the dressing was way too sour this time. The Crab Cake appetizer was only average. The portion size of the main courses had shrunk. The Sauteed Black Sea Bass was thin and small in size. Though it was moist, its skin could be crispier. Its broccoli rabe side was very salty. The pumpkin seeds on the Scallops main course added good flavor, but I was not a fan of the spaghetti squash that came with it. Thankfully, both dessert options were still very good. We used to leave satisfied and happy, but this time we felt we still had room for a bowl of ramen noodles.

I loved the place, the restaurant is beautifully, the service is great, and the food... speechless. I went for the restaurant week, and I will definitely come back to try their regular menu. I had an amazing drink (I'm sorry I can't remember the name), salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked, and dessert was to die for.

Dragonmilk X

Food is definitely great. Lunch special used the be the best deal in neighborhood and has since gone up in price. Service not the quickest.

Ana María Valencia

Great casual and delicate french cuisine restaurant. Staff is friendly, helpful and really knowledgeable. Everything is perfectly organized and clean. Food is delicious and certainly the chefs make art!

Nitish Korula

Would rate 3.5 if half-stars were allowed. The service was very slow.

Yi Kuang

The restaurant shared the kitchen with Jean Georges, which is a Michelin One star restaurant. So if you have a limited budget but want to get fair food, try this one! I love the chocolate cake & ice cream. And who don’t? Hah. Average price during restaurant week: $50/person for dinner

Bk Song

Pleasant service in welcome desk. I was 1st customer so I could have quiet morning with full attention. :) pretty and delicious foods with central park view. Definitely I want to come back again.

Tom Nussbaumer

Really delicious experience!

Christoffer Trebler

Good food, aldoug keep away from the oversalted fries! Service is good but slow.

HSIU-TING LIN

Food is just okay, not impressed

Garry Parton

I would have given it 5 stars but the service is off and they now allow dogs for overly pampered people who can't leave pets at home.

Nothing spectacular or extraordinary, yet at the same time nothing really for any discontent - you feel that every detail is self-consciously designed and taken care of. The tuna tartare was a high-end rendering of the everyday spicy tuna - more delicate and you can taste the original flavor of the sashimi. I also personally liked the warm artichoke - it was almost THE way to season the artichoke with lemon and fresh olive oil - but probably don’t order it if you don’t often boil and have artichokes at home. Both the sea bass and the beef tenderloin were nicely done - tender and juicy. The one thing I would remember from this meal was the dessert - the corn souffle was just amazing! The corn flavor was better than any other ones I've had and it was ingenious to bring the ultra-crunchy popcorn and ice-cream (not too sweet) together.

I had the opportunity to go for brunch prior to seeing a show. I was really excited to try out the food because I love ABC kitchen. I went with a group of six and was able to try a number of dishes. Let's start with the food, in my opinion good but not great. There was one appetizer I loved which was the crispy rainbow trout, the rice was flavorful and the fish was soft with subtle flavors. I was disappointed with the tuna tartar the fish was good but over seasoned with sauce and I wish they gave me something to eat the fish with other than a fork (wonton crisp or a chip). The butternut squash soup was tasteless in my opinion and wouldn't order again. As far as entrees, I liked the lobster burger. The patty was extremely seasoned with sauce that some may find too spicy but I enjoyed. While the pasta I tried was oversalted and I felt I could make a comparable dish at home. The salmon was cooked well and the cranberry sauce was interesting. My brother in law enjoyed his salmon Benedict, but I didn't try it. The service was good, but too slow we weren't able to order dessert because it took a bit over two hours to eat out appetizers and entrees. Due to time constraints to reach the show we had to leave.

Jay Passarella

Disappointing. Felt like a diner. No table cloths, placemats only, drinks very strong the all tasted of too much liquor. Crispy lobster had pieces of shell in it. Out of lobster burger, failed to let us know until we ordered. Hard to understand waiters accent. They were too rushed. On alternate drink, waiter did not know what de saronno was (amaretto). Had to point to it on the drink menu. Overall a disappointment. Knew it would be a step down from jean George but for 700 with a few drinks 4 people should have a better experience.

Jennifer Palmerson

We had the Restaurant Week lunch. Spectacular and only $26. Tomato soup - rich and creamy. The flounder with potato ravioli light and flavorful.

Andrea Jones

Pretty much perfect

Erin Hundtofte

Exquisite food, perfect portions, exceptional service. The prices would have been appropriate, except they charged us $12/bottle for sparkling water, really? It was lovely to see Jean-Georges himself working the kitchen while we were there. My warm shrimp salad was lovely - the shrimp were butterflied and doused in a creamy bechamel sauce. The avocados were perfect. The dressing seemed overly salty to me, but I have a bad cold, and my husband assured me it wasn't actually overly salty, my pallette is just off. The salmon entree was silky and divine. My husband said his veal was similarly wonderful. The lychee and rhubarb trifle was refreshing, not overly sweet, very light. My husband enjoyed his warm chocolate cake. The ginger soda was obviously made in house, and used plenty of ginger, which felt great on my throat.

Richard Helstein

2/3 delicious 1/3 eh. Service could be better.

Brian Won

Excellent meal, and a solid value at Restaurant Week pricing. Not sure I'd want to pay full price here, tho...

Katy Santana

The food is mouth watering!! The service incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's fabulous. The chicken and artichoke dish was scrumptious. The warm chocolate cake recipe was created by the chef at this restaurant. I never tasted one as great as the this . Awesome place I will be back . I also believe it has 3 Michelin stars if not 4.

Monica Zhao

Horrible breakfast. I asked for medium cooked egg on Egg Benedict and got an egg with egg white that's all liquidy. When I showed the server that the egg is undercooked she said that's soft cooked and my friend who asked for soft cooked egg got medium cooked egg. (Great to know they served the wrong food I suppose? But even the soft cooked poached eggs should NOT have egg white that's so raw that you got liquid egg white spreading over half of your plate when you cut into it). The server reluctantly agreed to take it back to the kitchen and I got the eggs remade. No apologies or explanation on getting our orders wrong and serving a dish that's undercooked. The eggs doesn't taste fresh and this is still the worst Egg Benedict I've ever had. Avocado "toast" is actually a sad slice of whole grain bread that's not even toasted with avocado spread that's way too moist and flavorless. French toast is actually delectable with just the right amount of sweetness and contrasting texture between the crust and inside of the toast. Service is subpar compared to other restaurants that's in this price range. 2 star for the French toast otherwise would have been 1 star.

Lucian Ramnarase

One of the top restaurants in the city for sure. Food is super light and filling. Tuna tartare is hands down one of the best appetizers on the menu. The wine options are infinite and while you're gonna drop the money, it'll be worth it. Easily will spend 2-3 hours of quality time in the relaxed atmosphere.

Lakshmi Ramgopal

Overrated stuffy place to eat a nice meal Very few choices for vegetarians In this day and age for the amount they charge they should work on thier menu offering

Jim Chenard

Outstanding job accommodating two people in my party with dietary restrictions

Tamara

Refined, light, beautiful space, well priced

John l

Irene Lee

Good lunch course with reasonable price

John Tao

Fancy step aside, let Jean George through! From the moment we entered to the moment we left, I felt like we were celebrities. Every part of the wait staff was attentive and accommodating. Doors were opened for us, chairs were moved for us, I’m surprised we didn’t get spoon fed. I ordered the tuna tartare and the veal Milanese. Both tasted delicious. However, I thought the sauce for the tuna tartare should be left for me to pour, I thought it was a little over sauced. Also, warm lettuce in the veal Milanese was a little weird for me. I highly recommend the Tasmanian sea trout over the crispy sushi rice. I have have this variation at many restaurants but here at Nougatine, they really get the rice part cooked perfect. Not over fried or too crunchy. For dessert the warm chocolate cake is the only way to go! On top of all that, Gio made our experience an unforgettable one .

One more star than they have....Service was average considering this is a two star Michelin. Our waiter seemed almost like he had better things to do than serve his customers. Although the busboys and support staff were superb. Food was very average for what it professes to be. Tasty yes but nothing that would really stand out. The Lobster was very good and so was the trout sushi. The veal parmigiana was over "cheesed" and dry. Spago in LA is the benchmark for the meat portion of a schnitzel/veal parmigiana dish. Just didn't find the ambiance, service and product worthy of the price and reputation. Maybe my 33rd Michelin restaurant globally and in retrospect I'd have been happy with having simply just 32 if I had a choice. Won't be back nor will I recommend it.

Cannon Kearney

Lovely restaurant with excellent ambience. Just the right touch of warmth in the well lit and vibrant spot. Fennel and goat cheese and flounder are highly recommended. Although owned by you know who, definitely a presidential eatery.

Lori Lucas

I cannot speak to the food, since we never ate. It was our 30th anniversary and we booked weeks in advance. When we arrived exactly on time for our reservation we were told by the woman at the host stand to wait to be seated, as evidently that wasn't her job. A few minutes later we were escourted into the restaurant by a guy who said our table was ready. However, when we followed him in, he pointed at the bar and told us to wait. We went to sit at the bar and he practically shouted at us not to take the seats because they were reserved for evidently more important customers. We were left standing there for a while before my husband went back to the host stand to figure out what was going on. After another while, he came back wth the original woman from the host stand, who was indicating we could sit at a table on the other side of the restaurant--not sure what happened to the guy or table that was supposed to be ready for us previously. We decided we'd had enough of being marched around the restaurant and told to wait. We frankly didn't want to contine this bad experience and left. Our anniversary was still great because we celebrated it at Blue Fin, which was fabulous. When will restaurant owners learn how important the front of the house is to the restaurant experience?

Bradley Coleman August

It's in TRUMP TOWER!!!!!!! I'm sure it's great, but when we realized where it was, we couldn't go through with it and cancelled our reservation. We walked over to Boulud Sud, which was great.

Bridget Coolick

Great spot for a quality, quiet breakfast near midtown.

Y. Lu

I came during restaurant week. I’d say ordinary bistrots in Paris serve similar food — so there is nothing really spectacular when it comes to the cuisine (the most memorable being the potato ravioli in my fish). The atmosphere though is great; so is their professional service.

Carol Colitti Levine

Beautiful view of Central Park South's sparkling high rises and outside terrace. Service very good. Apps excellent. Especially fried calamari with crispy tentacles and a spicy sauce. Tuna tartare sublime. Butternut squash soup delicious. But. Main courses were unexpectedly big portions and all a bit overcooked. Pork chop. Veal Milanese. Seared scallops. Extensive wine list. Excellent Brooks Willamette Valley Pinor Noir. Next time I'd sit at the stylish bar for wine and apps.

John McBride

Really solid brunch and not as pricey as you'd thunk

Philip Engs

A great experience. The food, drinks, and service were all top notch. It's quite pricey but not outrageous for New York. I will return soon !

Albert Ko

It's still one of the best meals in the city. This time the service wasn't as amazing as it has been. During Restaurant Week, they do a great job. This time they recommended my pork chop be cooked to medium... It was probably more done than my liking. I prefer just slightly pink as medium rare. My fam devoured their food as it was super tasty. They ran out of the lobster burger and sea bass for the 8pm service so popular dishes can run out quick. Had to tell my fashionista cousin to dress business casual which she normally never wears so it's still not completely casual.

Barbara Georgescu

The finest menu with many choices of delicious food! Evey item on the menu is worth trying!

Robin Murphy

Food and space were excellent. I had the sea trout and the sea bass, others at the table had the pork chop and the burger. All were delicious. Drinks were great too as was the service. I was expecting this to be not such a special space but I was actually beautiful with a great vibe. I recommend Nougatine.

Muraari Vasudevan

Good food. Service could be a bit more attentive.

John Kernan

They make the egg dishes your dinner does seem ethereal.

Andrew Polenov

Excellent in every category. Light airy ambiance, great food with many healthy options, superb service.

Matthew Pontoriero

Amazing brunch, elevated and delicious

Veron premchand

Delicious,would definitely return

Gianni Petrella

Great food and service. Lunch prixe fixe is a very good deal. A notch below JG, but still one of the best restaurants in Midtown.

Y Liu

I could not believe how bad my dining experience was tonight at the famed restaurant. Sure, I visited during the New York restaurant week, so that I could have a peek at the Michelin star experience at an affordable price. This restaurant did not show a bit of interest in leaving a good experience with these “restaurant week eaters”. I mean, not only did they not try to impress at all, they went out of their way to make us feel unwelcomed and totally underfed. But why did you even bother to participate in the first place? The whole 3 hours we were there, there was not a single introduction from any staff member or even any eye contact. Severs did not remember who ordered what. I had to ask my wine three times, which finally came when the entreé was already served. Some random girl came over to ask “is everything ok after dessert was served, again with no eye contact. I guess it was time for them to make sure tips were warranted since I “cared”. I Food was at best mediocre. The salad dressing was intrusive to the pallat. The red curry flounder was salty and rudimentarily spicy. I kept thinking, is this restaurant Cajun? But where was the warm hospitality if it was? Where is « le niveau de raffinement » that is core to even French « plat du jour » served at Brasseries. Who eats here? This is going to be a puzzle for me to solve for years to come.

warren jakoby

Great food.great service.grest experience ...unfortunately very noisy

Hannah Laufer-Rottman

Why so unfriendly and cold when food should be served with a warm heart? Why was no bread served with my scrambled eggs? A few slices of bread please, so I can cover them with the cute little jams displayed on the table? Why did they finally bring those slices of bread AFTER I finished my meal, AFTER they took away the empty dish and AS we were paying the bill? Why was my tea cold and no one offered a new nice warm cup on this cold morning of November? Oh sooo disappointing. Sooo cold. Sooo not welcoming. Not good for me, the Foodlover.

Konstantinos Rizakos

Given the very high expectations around the renowned chef, and the hefty price tag, the food is mediocre at best. It is nonetheless served in an excellently orchestrated ritual: two servers will bring four entrees together and serve the two ladies first, with one arm, then the gents with the other. That being said, there are many better similarly priced restaurants around. Try the restaurant at the Museum of Art ad Design, across Columbus Circle.

Ashesh Shah

The prix fixe was delightful. I have to say that the service and staff were exceptional. The scallops and the fois gras stood out amongst a menu full of delicious options.

nicolas chen

We waited 30 minutes to get our table the food was good and the service ...

Russell Langford

Location is ideal opposite Central Park. The green olive paste overpowered the seabass and the thin asparagus was stringy not tender. The shrimp salad was tasty. The waiters were knowledgeable without being particularly attentive.

廖菲比

Excellent restaurant

Robin Bergman

Great restaurant, the food was good and the staff was very friendly. The service was very good. I gave it 4 stars because of the prices. The food is reasonable priced for Manhattan standards but the drinks are far overpriced. A great restaurant I will come back.

C Aaron

Had chefs tasting Tuna tartare on point. Tender and melts in the mouth Steak midium rare but still very hard Desert the passion fruit pavlova chilled but not freezes, bite size, and very mild Love it

Milad Mahdian

Overpriced for the quality

Jessica Lin

I used to work here 10 years ago. Food quality is still great but service has become so callous and beyond pretentious. Managers also don’t care about experience here. Not surprising it’s fine dining restaurant lost a Michelin Star.

Lee Zamparo

Prix fixe lunch was very memorable. Service was impeccable, and the dining room itself was beautiful. Would definitely return again

A A

Gourmet food, stellar service, $$$$ out of $$$$$, acceptable wine list, see and be seen crowd that would never desire to be seen. Front dining area is casual. Back dining area is formal. I would recommend Nougatine, AKA Jean Georges. The bill was $369, excluding gratuity, and with one glass of wine.

Clarissa Silva

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :) Top Pick for Romantic & Upscale Dining. Food: Excellent! I recommend the salmon or the chicken! Drinks: Excellent. Wine list is impeccable. Space: This is where excellence meets excellence! Both the bar and main dining room are intimate, modern and sleek. Scene: Date night. Elegant. Upscale. Pick-up scene. Crowd: 30-80s. Mostly professional, locals and tourists. Service: Extremely courteous & professional.

Lori Luo

Situated right next to Jean-Georges, Nougatine serves as a more casual dining alternative in the Columbus Circle area. They participate in Restaurant Week as well, which is a great opportunity to try a three-course prix fixe menu. The food is elegant, carefully prepared, and flavorful; the Tuna Tartare is fresh and perfectly paired with avocado, while the roast chicken had a perfectly crisp skin while surrounded with autumnal vegetables. For dessert, don't skip the famed molten chocolate cake. Service is attentive and professional and the ambiance is pleasant; well worth the experience.

Vera Cheng

Went there during restaurant week for lunch. The restaurant week menu is good, we also order the appetizer and desert from normal menu. Highly recommend their TASMANIAN SEA TROUT and LEMON CREME BRÛLÉE!!

Dr. Luis Vargas

Classy, not stuffy, solid menu - refined, classic and not overwhelming.

Jones Sonia

I hope not. So does Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who established it 15 years ago as the easygoing bistro next door to the demure elegance of Jean Georges, Audrey Tautou to the flagship’s Catherine Deneuve. Since then, New Yorkers have come to rely on Nougatine at Jean Georges, to give the name that nobody ever uses, for working lunches that could be expensed without waking up the auditors, yet they also tended to take it for granted. It has never been reviewed before in The New York Times, and it rarely comes up in conversations about favorite Vongerichten restaurants, although it is one of the most dependable.

Evan Herring

Superb! Consistently amazing food and first class service. Reasonably priced for an upscale meal.

Irene Jones

This testaurant is first class. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful, especially Una. Its Michelin Star rating is well deserved.

Sergio Nieto

Very nice place with good food and good service. Try the foie, it is amazing! Don't get the artichoke, the trout or the pork chop, they were just ok. Desserts were good, but nothing spectacular (Apple cinnamon pie and corn souffle). It was a bit disappointing for what I was expecting.

Lindsay Adams

Great location and atmosphere, service was very great , food was good.

Nicholas Whiting

Another excellent meal. Highly recommend.

Juliana Kim

The food was good, but the service was NOT. First of all, there was an issue with the reservation. I booked the reservation on Open Table and received confirmation. But then when I went to look up the reservation, I was directed to a page that said "Unfortunately, this restaurant is not on the OpenTable reservation network." So then I booked another reservation using Resy as it was a special occasion (birthday) and didn't want to risk showing up and not getting a table. On both Open Table and Resy, I asked that they do something special for the dessert and recognize my friend's birthday. They did nothing. They didn't even acknowledge it. We had ordered the ribeye for two and there was about 1/3 of it leftover which we asked to take back with us. They gave us a claim ticket for our ribeye and as we were leaving, they couldn't find it. They said someone must have thrown it away by mistake. They offered to prepare a new order and have it delivered so we agreed. When they asked us what we had ordered and we told them that it was the ribeye for two ($138), the gentleman smirked and said, "Of course it was". We left the restaurant with the understanding that they would remedy their mistake by sending over a new order and delivering it to us. But not even 5 minutes after we left, I received a call saying that they "found it". Really? In the trash? How great do you think we felt when they told us that someone must have thrown our bag away and then after finding out what we had ordered, called us back to say they found it? Ugh. What a terrible experience for what was supposed to be a celebration.

Amy Lin

Spacious and comfortable, service is professional and nice. Food is quite conservative and a bit oily for me.

Kaitlynn Keller

Nichole is a dream. I trust her recommendations wholeheartedly.

Chiara Garofoli

A great classic whenever I am in town. Never disappointed by this 3-starred Michelin. Last month I saw Jean-Georges in person in the restaurant. Whatever main I choose I simply can't resist the warm chocolate cake.

JohnT Gelb

Had dinner here. Ambience is very corporate, cool, but comfortable nonetheless. Food was good. Location at Columbus Circle is very nice. It's at the Trump International.

Eduardo Jaber

The service was amazing, very prompt and professional, the food has very good quality and mostly well executed. Great place to enjoy what NY has to offer.

Kateryna Ulerio

I’m giving you two stars. 4.5 star service and the ambience. Out of all food options, three appetizers two entrées and two desserts one appetizer was decent the rest of the food was the best mediocre. Everything was covered up with salt and soy sauce. There was not much flavor in any dish. One of the entrées had to be sent back because nothing could be tasted best the flavor of vinegar. Not worth the hype. A taco from Chelsea market could beat the dinner any day.

guy kofman

French fusion restaurant. The food is amazing and the service as well. You need to make a reservation prior to your visit.

Hadar Pedhazur

Superb meal. Outstanding service. Beautiful setting.

René Nijland

This was our third and final time, during our previous stays we always enjoyed and had a great night this time the food was Great but service was terrible. We came here during our annual week in New York and it turned out to be restaurant week this time, the menu was well thought out and the food was very tasty. The main waiter (whom I will not name) was terrible. No time to explain wines or drinks, not listening to requests and even serving a knife on the left hand side for the main course (see picture). Apart from that the table had various pieces of chewing gum stuck to it (that destroyed my suit). When we collected our coats and were asked about our experience I replied with okish, no response or interest whatsoever.

Erica Chan

Dependable consistent good brunch options. Personable service. Terrace seating available weather pending.

Aditya Salunke

Loved this place. Great ambiance. We made reservations in advance and were seated by the window which really had a good view of the Central Park. The wines list was good too and we went for the 3 course Prix fixe. Loved the Tuna Tartare for our appetizer, crusted Salmon for our entree and the chocolate cake for dessert. Would definitely visit again. Definitely worth the price tag!

Dashiel Florez

Only went for desserts and drinks. Was pretty good

Carol Mao

Lunch prix fixe is value for money. Wonderful view of a piece of central park. Can check in coats and bags which is super sweet. However, maybe because it's in Trump Tower, all the large luggages need to be opened and examined before entering the restaurant. Location is not convenient for calling uber.

skylar spangler

The sommelier, Nicole is AN ABSOLUTE STAR!!

Bob Lou

Superb service and amazing setting. I found it rather amusing that in my group of two, there would be two waiters to clear the finished plates in concerted fashion. The architecture is quite nice permitting views of the kitchen and central park. The foods I tried, tuna tartar, shrimp salad, veal, sea bass, lava cake, and toasted almond were excellent, but perhaps not memorable. Case in point, the lava cake was the most enjoyable for me.

Marvin Avila

Pristine, through and through.

Douglas Blake

The food was good not great. The chicken was over cooked but the sea bass was amazing. The drinks came out after our appetizers and the waiter could really care less very lackadaisical. Would try again but not what I expected I will say when countered with the feedback they took it to heart and took care of our drinks. Will try again.

Adam Finnefrock

Mediocre. Food was not great. Pasta tomato-based sauce was exceptionally salty and bland. The butterscotch dessert was great, the other apple-cinnamon tart only fair. Service was curt and brisk. I would recommend saving to go to the 3-star Michelin next door, and skip this altogether. I can only guess it's the training ground for the main event.

Baizhou Gu

new salmon dish is very tasty

David Shane

The food is excellent and imaginative and the service is a little over the top. It should be a little more casual in that respect. Also, people tend to take way longer to dine than normal, so during busy times, expect to wait even if you have a reservation.

Kielley Young

Always reliable for good food and service.

Steven Harris

We arrived early and were invited to wait in the hotel lobby until the rest of our party arrived. We we led to a 4 top in front of the kitchen and to the left of the main travel path for servers, and bussers. A table was empty in the front window and we asked if we might be reseated. After checking the host told us it was a table for five and although unreserved was not available for 4 people. We remained at our assigned table and ordered lunch. We had a spectacular shrimp and avocado salad that was remarkable, 2 yummy lobster burgers and 2 unremarkable burgers accompanied by 1/2"- 3/4" long frites. We had an unending supply of chilled tap water in lovely thin glasses, coffee and the famous and delicious molten lava cakes with vanilla ce cream. The service was attentive and although 2 of our party of four were initially served the wrong selections all was made right in the end. We enjoyed our own company, the quiet color scheme and a relaxed time. We had some difficulty hearing each other due to the proximity of the service activity but with a number of" I beg your pardon (s)" we managed. We paid the bill and upon leaving niriced the table for 5 had 4 diners and the fifth place setting had been removed. I asked for the manager and was attended after a several minute wait by an assistant manager. We had a civil if unsatisfactory conversation. His explanation was that when the party in the window was seated there were only 4 in the party. He was unable to explain how one party of four qualifies over another party of four for a 5 top. Otherwise, it was an acceptable, not outstanding, experience for $200 for 4 without wine or alcohol. There are more delightful experiences for the money. Catherine

Isabel Toro

I've been to this place before and I loved it it seems to be just different. I had the salmon the foie gras and the chocolate flourless cake. The salmon was very average the foie gras was exquisite and the chocolate souffle cake like any other cake. Would I go back now ,its a beautiful location yes if you're looking for good food this is not the place to go

Ginger Romero

Ate lunch here on my birthday. Everything was great!!! From their front desk , the food server/waitress to the food. Food presentation was great. Staff were nice and polite. And most of all food was great. I am highly satisfied. :)

Jesse Miller

Excellent drink selection, had one of the best cocktails I've ever had. Definitely recommend stopping in.

Rippy Roo

Just because you name the place something stupid doesn't mean the food will be good.

Carlos Villavieja

Excellent service even all the reviews were discouraging this place because of the service. The 38$ menu was delicious with very good sauces for all plates. This places gladly surprised me because there wasn't anything delicious. You can feel that the kitchen is almost shared with the two Michelin star as the plates were served with great descriptions and raw good ingredients. They are very kind to change anything on the menu if you don't like. They prepared a fruit salad that was excellent. Also they were very fast for the food for kids.

abraham gonzalez

The best experience in regards to food and service in my NY trip!

Donata Branca

Terribile food and Extreme expenisve ! Don t go! Horrible service As well

Puripant Ruchikachorn

This sister restaurant of the fancy Jean Georges does seem more casual, especially the terrace where the street noise is clearly audible. The service is also a bit lacking. The food is okay for the price. Their lunch set ($38++) is a good value though other places such as The Modern offer similar options even without prix fixe.

Mei Lim

Had the prix fixe lunch. Their tuna tartare starter is beautiful and delicious. Lava cake with ice-cream was perfect, flawless. Only downside is flavours in some dishes can be overbearing. E.g. ginger sauce for tuna was salty after a while. Overall lovely place for lunch with a view of Central Park and great service.

Brian Bobby Chiong

Excellent. Everything you'd expect. Just a lovely experience.

Carol Resstom

Great location and atmosphere, service was very great , food was good.

Kristina Kunz

I always come back to this place and I always get the tuna tartare as my starter. It is the best ever with an amazing ginger sauce that compliments the fish perfectly. Today I also tried the lobster and the sea bass which were both excellent choices. Coconut icecream was delicious. Kids got pasta. One with meat balls which tasted delicious however it was very spicy which I do not consider child friendly (it was on the kids menu). I addressed it to the waiter to make him aware that it would be good to mention that it’s spicy so we could have chosen differently.

Majid Khosravi

Awesome food, Darius was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu.

Rohenne Lee

Perfect place to bring your family for weekend brunch! I like it when better than Jean George which is just a few steps away from Nougatine. Nougatine has the casual but elegant look and feel. I love the sunlight that it gets and the open kitchen. My favorite dishes were basically everything we had! Their dishes are simple but done really really well. I loved the French toast - it's not too soggy, has a bit of crunch on the outside but the inside is nice and chewy. The fried calamari was also really yummy. Can't wait to be back again.

Arlene Rose

Attentive, pleasant service. Good sized portion of flounder. Trout appetizer was enjoyable. Their warm chocolate cake just hits my sweet tooth.

Reliably great food at a price expected of the caliber of the restaurant. I have been on several separate occasions and always get their variation of the foie gras terrine. Service is attentive and friendly, though I do think the front desk maitre d’s can be warmer when welcoming people.

Fancy restaurant with dim lighting..I went there during Restaurant week and I had a bad experience since the sashimi entree was too sour so as dessert(passion fruit ice cream). I think the restaurant is too generous of salt. Plus when I went there it wasnt too crowded but we (6ppl) waited for like 1 hr from entree to meal to desert in between.

Klim Kavall

Delicate and delicious! The food is exquisite in its preparation... it felt like each element was carefully inspected and handpicked. The restaurant decor is subtle and elegant, while the waiters are extremely well trained! I had the pre-fix lunch menu so the portions did seem a bit smaller than what I would imagine their normal dishes to be but was more than enough for lunch. I would go back for another try or maybe dinner.

Nougatine is a hidden gem in the city of culinary delights. It is, bar none, the best restaurant in New York. The prie fixe lunch is a steal. The calamari appetizer and any of the fish entrees are your best choices. For dessert, try the classic warm, soft chocolate cake. It's a classic served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Nougatine also makes their own sodas. The ginger-lemon and passion fruit are hits. I like to dine alone at the bar, where it's first come, first serve. But, it's a perfect spot for a casual lunch to catch up with a friend. And, it's a romantic spot as well.

Went for restaurant week, I ordered off the menu and my wife got the prix fixe. Service was perfect, along with my crab cake app and salmon main. Wife's chicken came out a bit pink which our waiter quickly resolved. Bonus points for the free dessert to make up for their mistake.

Really lovely food here. Fantastic fresh, seasonal menu executed perfectly. All 6 of us at the table was very happy. The cocktail I ordered was not great, ive had old fashioneds in pubs that tasted better. The service left something to be desired. An early server was very good, enthusiastic and knowledgeable but our latter server was terrible, dismissive and aloof.

Sandra Wijnberg

Absolutely horrible service experience. Delivered two mains but forgot about the third meal which wasn’t delivered until about 15 minutes later. Not the kind of service one expects at a place of this stature or price range. We literally had to get out of our seats to ask when the dinner would be delivered and we had to do that twice .No manager came to our table to apologize. This was a birthday dinner with our 95 year old mother. Totally wrecked. We are NYers and eat at all the best restaurants - Marea, Grenouille, Le Benardin, etc. we are appalled at the service we received.

Excellent food & service

Good and a fantastic bar. The bar staff were simply outstanding!

Mukisa Lumala

Beautiful place.great food.I recommend !!!

Jana Criswell

Being from Texas I wasn't sure what to expect from a New York cheeseburger, but the burger was excellent.

Josue Polanco

The price does not justify the food. *Though I will say it was very presented and plated. The tuna tar tar was amazing.* But still don't think it should of cost an arm and a leg. I've comparable dining experiences for a lot less. Mind you, I am aware of where this restaurant is located and who the chef is, it's a new era. Fine dining has a change in the past two decades. Either way it was still a delightful dinning experience. I'll have to think twice about a second visit. #NewAgeDiner

I had dinner at Nougatine at 9pm on Aug 4 2019. The staffs and manager are unprofessional for the process from taking orders to the billing process for the following reasons: 1. Staff/waiter would pose as a manager and gave confusing answers, 3 waiters constantly come to interrupt our conversation to take dinner order while we are still waiting for answers from one of the stuff, posed to be the manager before the real manager finally approached us as the 5th person. 2. The restaurant is unable to manage their inventory supply for the demand. we picked 2 entries out of their menu, both are sold out. As an experienced chief and renown restaurant, unable to budget for restaurant week traffic seems to be unreasonable for not one, but 2 entries being out. 3. Billing process is a chaos: the staff does't check the dinner order with the table # when processing the payment. We were wrongfully charged 400+ dollars on our card for somebody else's bill. When the bill was first presented, it has amounted $89, we gave our card, then the signature sheet came back: there are 2 bills presented (see attached pictures): A. 2 copies of the $518 bill: we quickly checked our bank credit card, 518 was charged through and has already appeared in our bank. B. our own $89 bill's signature sheet: the $89 amount was not charged to the card, but a signature sheet was presented. ( I am not sure how it is possible to have signature sheet without the card being charged) 4. Manager has poor managerial skills: From what I experienced: staff would bring another staff to pose as the manager. pretending to solve the problem, and the billing mistake for not checking table # for the bill (mentioned above), I am not sure what kind of training is in place for the staff. Instead of dealing with the problem and offer a gesture, the manager asked us/the customer to deal with it and understand that it is a training for the stuffs. It seems to me to understand and excuse their unprofessional doing should be by will, but the manager made me feel like it was an obligation. I was hoping to come and have a nice dinner, not to treated as a training tutorial for the staff. Based on what I experienced last night, I have a deep concern for the Jean Gorge management and brand consistency.

Excellent food, attentive servers, great ambiance. The open kitchen gives curious foodies a peek at the magic behind the meals, and the bar has an excellent mixologist whose creations are pricey but well worth it (for fans of subtle crafted mixed drinks). Great place for meetings, or a second date. Highly recommended.

Timothy Lam

Seriously ride and poor service.

Tom Jones

Impeccable service. A couple missteps with the preparation but a keen eagerness to resolve and please the customer. Some dishes are unique and ruminate of freshness. Others are pedestrian. Caveat: I ate there for restaurant week.

Ashley Koide

Went here for dinner with a friend visiting in town and the food was amazing. They have an extensive wine list and their sommelier can help you decide what you might like if you want to try something you haven’t had before. The service was top notch. They always made sure we were taken care of.

Mariam Persaud

Dishes not up to par as the original Jean George's

Nancy Arnold

The bloom is off the rose. Last Sunday my daughter and I were there for our third annual celebration of her birthday. We arrived early and asked to be seated. We were seated at the worst table in the restaurant. I asked to change but were not allowed even though there were two empty tables. We waited almost ten minutes and no server came to take our drink order. I flagged a gentleman wearing a dark suit who may have been the maitre’d who took our drink order. Our server brought our wine and took our order. The service was adequate and the food was good. Even though I had told them it was my daughter’s birthday, they would do nothing but put a candle on the dessert we ordered and paid for. I was shocked at the service at one of the supposedly best chef’s establishments. Granted, it wasn’t the adjoining Jean Georges dining room, I expected better. We were told the fine dining area has a different kitchen. I will give that one try. It isn’t that much more expensive. I hope Jean Georges is mad aware of the poor service at La Nougatine.

Clara Gerlach

It's an amazing restaurant to go to. Amazing views as well. Would recommend the burger.

Peggy Caldwell

Great service and room design. Meal was beautiful and the ingredients very high quality, however, it either tasted like salt, vinegar or sugar. Disappointing considering the promise of quality.

Julia Dillon

Excellent restaurant unfortunately located in a Trump building. Fantastic outdoor bar and eating area.

Garth Manor

Nice lunch prefix price. Menu somewhat simple but so fresh. The tomatoes were the best, and the champagne vinaigrette was divine. The terrace is great.

Alex Morse

The staff was amazing, the bar in top form, but some of the food was not up to JG standards. Delicious food was had, but its unusual to have flavorless soup at one of his places. Not nearly as good as ABC, and much higher price. Maybe the full JG nextcdoor is better.

Grace Lee

Went here on the last day of the restaurant week. The food was nice, especially tomato gazphcho and seafood dish. It was very busy so we had to wait for a while past our reservation time but the service was ok.

Mike Phillips

Oh...just lovely...2nd visit.... lovely..

Lucas Moreira

"Affordable" version of Jean-Georges restaurant but still not cheap for what if offers

Kyle Bartlett

Best restaurant I've ever been to. I believe they have the most competitive prices of all the 3 Michelin star restaurants in Manhattan. I usually don't eat at such nice restaraunts, but I felt it was completely worth the money. My taste buds were dazzled with each bite. Service was impeccable.

Mark Legler

The place had a distinct odor. Kind of an iron-like papery smell. Like blood and money.

Leslie Teng

Service is impeccable. Lunch prix fixe is very reasonable and good portions. Tomato gazpacho is a bit salty. Snapper entree is good albeit a bit dry; the cucumbers were the best part. The warm chocolate cake dessert deserves the hype; it is molten to perfection and not too sweet.

Vincent Lee

Very good location, food, and service. Too bad they do not serve the pre fix lunch on Sat and Sun.

Javier Kohen

The food was fine, but nowhere near our expectations given how expensive it was. The veal reminded me of the flavors of McDonald's (where I haven't eaten in over 20 years). Service was slow and inattentive, and they made basic mistakes, like removing an item from the table while we were still eating. The idea of the terrace is nice, but the hedge covers the view of the park. Because of this experience I removed Jean-Georges from my list of restaurants to visit.

Roberto Bekierman

Slow inatentive service and ok food

Mayshad Woman

love Jean George's cuisine and I think that this specific location in New York is the best. The staff at the bar is super cool and doesn't put pressure on you to consume. The food is delicious and the bills are actually good when you can combine a meal with a great glass of red wine.

Happy Summer 19, NYC 19 Restaurant Week. The Nougatine at Jean-Georges located at 1 Central Park West is one of my favorite restaurants in New York City, especially during NYC Restaurant Week. The 5 stars rating is deserving to The Nougatine at Jean-Georges because of their continual efforts to ensure the customers have a pleasant dining experience. A majority of the staff is excellent, and they do it all with a smile. The other staff members carry the "I don't really want to be here attitude". The decor is nicely done and it gives the restaurant a cozy and friendly look. I prefer the tables with a view, so we have a window table. The views from the window seats are of Central Park and Central Park South and Columbus Circle. To the South of Central Park South, you can see the new constructions on Billionaire 's Row, which is the un official name for West 57th Street.

Olek DeRowe

Casual but elegant with top notch quality

Kathleen McGowan

Nice quiet place for business meetings. The food is good and there are great views of Central Park and Columbus Circle.

Ariel Tal

Without a doubt, one of the best business-lunches in the city! This is a must for fans of Jean-Georges' style. Everything was delicious but the highlight was the Tuna Tartare.

Karn Seth

Came for the weekday lunch special. $38 was a steal for a great 3 course meal. The staff was warm and unfussy. The menu had a ton of options. My favorites were the tuna tartare with avocado for the appetizer, and the warm chocolate cake for dessert.

Hasees Qazi

Very nice food! sucks it’s in the trump tower

JF Lancelot

Good food. Can't go wrong here... but tonight service not as charismatic as I expected so only 4 stars

kai chan

Very nice space with excellent service and attention to detail. Happens to be located in Trump International though.

Adam Gutterman

Lovely in every way!

Ana Huber

Food was fantastic, but the star rating comes down to service. My sister and I had two wonderful servers who were both educational and entertaining! I cannot recall the first servers name (I feel horrible about this because he was the nicest person), but he helped us narrow down our choices and gave us fantastic recommendations! Our second server was Tyler, who too was nice. But he was also super personable and definitely made our experience there the best it could be. My sister ordered their passion fruit whiskey fizz. From her travels, this has become her new favorite whiskey drink, ever. And that alone should be a huge compliment to the bartender and bar manager that designed the drink. Thank you everyone! Food was fantastic!

Steve & Judy Reichman

For the price of the food, I was very disappointed with the quality. Service was very good. We can check this one of our list.

Mary ANN Oklesson

Food so so. Good service. Too much pomp n circumstance for a very ordinary place.

Xiaowen Wang

Restaurant week. Definitely worth a try!

Jesus Vasquez

Great Restaurant Week menu along with comfortable and attentive staff.
