Superb food and service.

Guy Haddad

Foie gras and hazelnut soufflé were outstanding. Great selection of French wines as well. A must-try if you're in the vicinity of Times Square!

tamera cooper

Excellent food! Great place to get drinks at the bar or enjoy a nice dinner outside next to the river. Delicious wines and excellent service. Delightful. Highly recommended!! Good job guys.

Carrie West

french food, mmm, quality stuff. The staff was helpful and kind. Prices are appropriate for the quality. Kinda of like a cafe in Phoenix that I enjoyed.

Kathryn Rogers

Beautiful place! I'm not big on French cuisine (or prices) but this place is worth a visit. I was there with a business associate and he had been there before. Next to the Omni Berkshire so convenient for us. We sat at the bar and had fun with the bartender, who my friend knew. Very sociable time with great appetizers and drinks. While we we there Robert Wagner and his wife Jill St John came in (apparently regulars). Beautiful lighting and flowers. All in all, quite an experience.

Clarissa McClure

Food was mediocre and overpriced. The menu advertised was not the same menu given at dinner. Wait staff was incredibly rude and unwelcoming. Would not recommend.

Lucille Dimayacyac

Wagyu and oxtail are incredible!

Jim G

Excellent food and service. Be prepared for the bill.

Nikoletta Vecsei Harrold

Amazing french cuisine. Menu is prix fix but the wine menu does not have prices. If you need prices, you can't afford to eat here.

Kanu Suguro

This is a fantastic gem, sort of a throwback to classic, old French cuisine. Almost like byzantine Russia. But the ambience is amazing with tons and tons of flowers, and fantastic service. You will be transported somewhere else, it was an otherworldly experience.

Mabel Gee

The best Irish coffee you will ever have... from a French restaurant I know!!!

Angelika Kallio

La Grenouille menu is fantastic.I best oysters I've ever had. Beautiful-flower-arrangement highlights the best of everything

Alex Berggruen

The food is quite good, but not necessarily worth the scrilla. The decor is certainly respectable - a true fancy restaurant. The service is great - the kind of staff that really respects repeat customers, but also shows great politeness to …

Koray Yilmaz

Incredibly beautiful restaurant, great for a romantic dinner. However, the quality of the food for the price should be much better. Also, too many staff members running around and service is way too fast. This should be quality dining, not a fast-food joint.

JJ C

Superb old school French restaurant. Amazing decor.

Vincent Avtomav

One of the best French restaurant. Thats it

Peter Elson

It's always great to go here. Food, service and decor/ambiance are the best I've had anywhere. The welcome makes you feel like you're family. More than worth the price.

Avery Browning

I really enjoyed their dishes. I always get great service there. The place is always clean and the cashiers are always nice. Will come visit again.

Kurt Miller

It was an amazing experience I proposed to my beautiful fiancee there the atmosphere was something from out of a story book.

sam piassick

Extremely attentive and engaged service. Well executed french classics. Beautiful dinning room. Downstairs is opulent with the amazing flowers for which they are known. Upstairs has a french farmhouse feel, and to me is actually the more romantic option.

K PA

Old school feeling with outstanding level of quality of food.

We came as a prelude to a show on Broadway, I was in a suit my Fiance in a gown. We were seated to a crammed table with a lamp in the center where the cord was blocking the booth and was a trip hazard to say the least. The waiter/maitre d seats us and hands us two menus, no drink menu and immideately asks us for drink orders. Following, I take my jacket off as it was warm in the restaurant and am told I need to put it back on because "well you know the media". Not sure what that means but it was 5:30 and it was empty in there, I guess I wasn't dressed enough the part. When it comes to the menu, there is a prixe fixe of $175 per person with no clear structure to what is an appetizer dessert and entree. When ordering off of the theatre menu again no break to what is what and the waiter asks us what we want for dessert all on the first go. Very upsetting. It wouldn't have been as frustrating if the service was good, instead they treat you very rudely, rush you, and offer little advice on anything. A neighboring couple described the meal as a "different experience" when considering if their daughter would like it, their feelings seemed to be mutual. The food was average, my lamb was overcooked and of course they are French so the servings are comical. Stay away from this place when it comes to fine dining as they do a poor job

Boris Galinsky

Cramped and way overpriced. Go if you have money to burn. You can get the same or better for much less. Fish was not good. Meat - nothing special. Resist sitting in corner tables.

Simon Rasmussen

Went with my wife and was impressed with the polite attention and swift service. The staff made us feel like we belonged even if they had to lend me suit jacket, as part of their dress code. I was wearing a white button down however I would …

Kris Walker

Best food ever. A must go. Souffles in unbelievable

Philippe De Backer

Wonderful restaurant! Quality, atmosphere, service; the very best in NY

juanmjuanmc

Tasty amuse bouche, perfectly done filet mignon. Steak tartare that was extremely tender reminds me how grandmother used to make it in Slovenia. The Dover sole had a nice thin and golden coloured crust. The best haricot verte as expected of a French restaurant. Finish with the soufflé, grand marnier for those with a sweet tooth and chocolate for those looking for a richer fuller experience, both topped with Chantilly sauce. The only downside is that for a restaurant of this caliber I expected more of the state of the restrooms. Excellent service, attentive, but not intrusive adding a little bit of humor and a lot of knowledge about the dishes.

Mr C the Bartman

Very French with excellent food and service. It is priced accordingly, so do not be surprised when the bill arrives. Expect to pay 100 per person with tax and gratuity for lunch when ordering ala carte. There is a fixed price option for lunch.

Meg Smith

An exquisite experience. The dining room is rich and ornate; so many old-fashioned details. Service is extremely attentive. Authentic French cuisine through and through. Dishes are classically prepared and appropriately portioned. Wine is fantastic. An indulgent treat.

Heidi Froseth

It was nice, and could've been so much better, but it's really overpriced and the wait staff is more aggressive than attentive.

Keith Niesenbaum

Excellent fine dining. Definately have the souffle for desert.

Sarah Elizabeth

WOW! We celebrated a special birthday here over the weekend. The restaurant was incredible! The flowers were stunning and the overall décor was perfection. At first, we felt a little rushed and overwhelmed by the menu; however, the staff …

Aglaia Davis

Absolutely lovely staff--out of their way to make it a pleasant dining experience. Top notch.

Ilan Epstein

It is good. They have really good choices of meals here.

OJ

Quite disappointed with the average food quality and taste (foie gras, lamb chops, and floating island), as well as the over-pompous, overrated service. You cannot eat in peace in this place. Someone is constantly watching you or bothering you. For me, being obligated to wear a jacket is not an acceptable method. The customer must remain king at all times, especially when the palace is not Versailles. Give me a Dior, a Givenchy or a Saint Laurent blazer to wear, and maybe we can talk.

Gwendolyn Jefferson Skinner

The most beautiful restaurant I've ever eaten at. However, not the best value. The restaurant is very very expensive, and the food was very very salty. I had the duck with white beans and a sauce. I had to wipe the sauce off of the beans before I could finish the dish (which I did not). The creme brulee was delicious. I will not visit again.

Mario Castillo

One of the last remaining temples of glorious cuisine, white-glove service and hospitality that is leagues above others! The upstairs room during the Christmas holidays must be experienced! You are transported to a distant and elegant country home in France serving food that is divine and where guests are treated with flawless attention. We've been fans of La Grenouille for years - it never disappoints! M.C.

Branislav M.

For this price range I expect way better food. I didn’t say it was bad, but I was in much better restaurants in France for less money. You have to drop prices at least 30%.

Ken Collins

This was a favorite spot of my best friend mom and I remember when visiting her we would end up here more than often. Now that I'm a vegetarian it doesn't come to mind but the last time I ate here the chef was quite accommodating. The atmosphere is formal. Definitely a place that is more my parents. But amazingly good.

Rodolpho Ruiz

Amazing place. From a friendly reception to a beautiful dining room all wonderfully decorated you will have a special treat in here. Second time I was there and will certainly comeback in the future. Still one of the best in town!

Danny Mystery

It’s a great place with a very beautiful interior design and friendly stuff. They treat you as a king here. The only downside is that they push you to wear their oversized blazer if you’re a man as you must wear a suit. So if you don’t have a suit you better get a one ahah. Other than that, I’d come back! :)

Dr. Victor M. Brown

Tomer and I decided to have a combined birthday dinner at La Grenouille. The ambiance was exquisite and the service was on point. The servers were attentive to the needs of the customers. The chefs paid attention to deals so the meal was delicious, from the appetizers to the entree to the dessert. I had lamb chops for my entree; though well done, it was succulent and juicy.

Doug Marks

Third visit in 4 months, another superb meal...warm lobster salad and rack of lamb with a glass of Lynch Bages for me, steak tartare, duck leg confirm and a lovely cremant for my baby....

Judith Church

Sat at the bar and enjoyed it completely We enjoyed French onion soup, cocktails, soufflés and the ever so decadent Irish Coffee made with preciseness and flair.!! Loved it.

T. Barclay King

Looking for an old school classic French restaurant in NYC then do not hesitate. Great atmosphere, good food, classic all the way.

shawn savage

My wife and I had an incredible dinner here after our matinee show this past weekend. The Bordeaux suggested was perfect. We sat 2 tables from the fireplace and comfortably tucked in the corner for a great view of the beautiful dining room, fire, and bouquets. What's more is the food was even better. We were too full from an earlier lunch, so we ordered our selections ala carte, and even better they have a pretty nice vegetarian menu to which they made vegan with no problems at all. My Roasted Tomato with Herb Crumbles was an absolute smash. The flavors were beyond great and coupled with a roll to soak up all the love, I was in heaven. I know La Grenouille doesn't need another gushing review, but I just had too. Besides the great food, we were comfortable received and seated, our waiter Rocher and the staff were incredibly attentive and pleasant. The owner came to assure everything was perfect and indeed it was even better than that. Can not wait to go back.

Abe Burrell

Old school classic French restaurant, exemplary service.

Edward Meszaros

From the moment you walk in you feel relaxed, beautifully decorated but the food...we had the frog legs, perfectly cooked and delicious and the duck which was fantastic but the sauce was to die for. Foie gras so perfectly cooked. Desert souffle was excellent. The staff is warm and very professional. I do not know why I havent been sooner, but will return on my next trip

Izzy G

I wish I could remember my servers name- he was amazing! I know he was Hispanic, dark hair. That description probably doesn't help much but he was phenomenal. The food was very good but I didn't feel like it was worth the price point. And for that reason alone I give it 4 stars. Portions were small also.

Mark Tortorello

Great atmosphere and amazing french food, classic all the way.

andrea burke

We had the Prix Fixe menu: Delicious lobster ravioli appetizer, beautifully done rack of lamb as an entree. The chocolate souffle for dessert was a highlight! The wait-staff were all great. The flower arrangements were impressive. We really enjoyed the experience!

April Lafferty

Perfection every time! Romantic, Excellent cuisine. Always a wonderful experience.

Arnaud de Bevy

Quaint space from another era. The formality hasn't aged well. Good food. Overpriced.

Emma Slier

Absolutely incredible dining experience. The floral scented romantically lit ambiance, the service, and the food all come together to create an atmosphere of refinement and you can't ask for better. I hope to return next time I'm in New York.

Bruno Lovisi

Very good French cuisine but pricey, NY NY ..

Leo Mueller

Amazing French restaurant and a fantastic wine selection. Service was second to none.

A Tannous

Excellent service and friendly staff. The food had rich, clean, and multi layered flavors. The desserts were also very good. I would not hesitate to come back.

J Buck

Superb. Friendly staff most romantic place I've ever been too.

Adam Causey

7 Minute pause in a scrim against there league team

Bill Nagler

Mediocre service. Had to keep asking for more water, bread and butter. Good but not great turbot and veal. Waiter tried to push more expensive items on the $106 prix fixe menu. Average age of both wait staff and dinner patrons also 106. …

Just outstanding!

Ronda Daily

Being a female solo diner, I sat at the bar for dinner. It was great and Tony was so fun to watch while he worked the bar. Lots of interesting folks in and out pre dinner. It was great. Wasn't a place to read a book between courses. Just fantastic

Tapez13

Words can't describe how amazing the food is!!

Daniel Jung

La Grenouille is a superb restaurant. It is a marvelous restaurant with a excellent food prepared and served by a wonderful staff who are courteous, professional and attentive. This level of service has been forgotten in most restaurants …

Aaliyah Donovan

Arthur Massei

This is one of the most beautiful rooms to eat in at any restaurant. The flowers are just magnificent! The service and food is excellent!

ANDREAS Auerbach

Wonderful location. You feel like you are entering into an other world. A wold of peace, poetry and cosiness. Wonderful menu, great service, excellent cooking!!

Gary S

Excellent food and fabulous service.

Oscar Dennis

I don’t think I can compare this food to anything, which sounds like the definition of pure love. It’s truely got love in it.

Tony Pardo

Amazing service, crowded with New Yorkers (not tourist). Food was good, not great. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

Diana Chen

Love the setting - beautiful flowers and decor. Food was fantastic. Be sure to get the seared/cooked foie gras. Crab legs portion was generous and the corn pancake with chicken liver was great. And the SOUFFLÉ you have to get. Service was also fantastic. All round found my top French in Manhattan

Ian Winton

Outstanding.

Samuel Pryor

Favorite place for 30 years. Lunch is more reasonable than dinner which unfortunately has become overpriced.

Michael Dane

One of the most perfect dining experiences in Manhattan that I ne could hope for. The room changes daily and fills with flowers and intoxicating scents of French cuisine and fresh roses. It’s an expensive evening but worth every penny. It’s a special occasion on every occasion. It’s a trip to Paris without leaving the city. The soufflés are divine and each course defines a new idea of innovation and tradition all at once.

Melissa Colcord

This chic restaurant literally makes you feel like you're eating at the most fabulous wedding with the most amount of flowers I have ever seen in one venue! Service was great, we sat at the bar and the bartender made us some really wonderful drinks and recommended the mussels with white wine and garlic. He was not wrong about the food or drink recommendations! Make sure you save some bread for the mussels, you're going to want every drop of that sauce. I promise. Highly recommend.

Judy Hahn

What an incredible experience it is to eat here. The food is delicious. The onion soup is made in a vegetarian broth with the bread crisped perfectly. The taste is device. The cookie plate after dinner is enough dessert with a great variety of delicate tastes. But the soufle looks amazing as well. The staff are gentle, helpful and wonderful. The room is exquisite.

Marc Horenstein

One of the worst dinning experiences I have ever had

January 17, 2016 · After the moment I handed my winter coat to the coat check and turned to step my 1st foot into the bar area I froze in place due to the beauty of the bar to ceiling floral arrangement. Paused for a moment then scurried along to catch my party just in time as the Captain was rolling back the table to allow my Aunt and I to sit at the plush red velvet booth. With Joe seated across from us. There was so much to admire about the ceiling lighting and the floral arrangements and vases. And even more exquisite were the outfits of the diners especially the glittery sparkly tops of the women diners. Oh and then there's the fact that it's an amazing French restaurant so we have that to look forward to. The service was top-notch the food was deliciously crafted and cooked and presented. Sauces were delicious and flavorful and it didn't seem like they were too fattening if there such a thing? I ordered the artichokes with truffle oil appetizer with shaved Parmesan cheese. It was nothing in presentation that I imagined it would've been but it really was fun to eat. My entrée was a spinach and cheese soufflé and if you can just take a look at that picture with the crust of gold encrusted and cheese it was just like that. And actually as the soufflé aged in the dish it got more gelled-up and flavorful. I asked to take some of it home and the waiter insisted that that would be a terrible idea so I ate more and was happy he insisted I eat it fresh. The dessert was spun sugar caramelized and meringue puffs. All so delicate. The "silver service" of the heaviest tablewear is always a hoot to "inspect". And. The complementary mandolins and other profiteroles and chocolate grand mariner truffles were yummy. Melt in your mouth. Upon leaving the restaurant I was "replete". Satisfied but not too full. And got a kick out of noticing the porcelain ceramic frog in the front window which made me realize the name of the restaurant means frog. King of frogs I would imagine. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for any special occasion but dress in a flair-y, fun fashion or you will be sorry you didn't.

Casey Ramirez

They've been going strong for 20 years last August. I've been dining here almost as long. Food never disappoints; neither do the servers, who are all French. Their motto is "French without the attitude!" From the Kir Royale to the Tarte Tatin, this is a five-star meal in a casual atmosphere. The specials are excellent. I wish I could try all the dishes, but every time I sit down I can't keep from ordering The Parmesan-crusted halibut!

George Handjinicolaou

Old faithful. Despite being around for ages, it has lost none of its charm and quality. Excellent food, in great surroundings

Marcos Baladron

Anniversary dinner. Worth every penny of the $400 for dinner.

Cindy Krausser

Food, service, and atmosphere tops it dosen't get any better. We enjoyed sooo much..the best soua(

Kate Hamm

Exceptional. Delicious soufflé!

Kjersti O'Connell

fantastic french restaurant. a classic. aesthetically beautiful - well-decorated and gorgeous flowers. romantic. great wine list.

Whitney Lundskow

I unfortunately can not recommend this restaurant to first-time/out of town visitors as we very much felt that since we were not long standing patrons, our dining experience was not given the same attention as others. Beautiful location and food was delicious. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and fully expected to spare no expense, but it did put a large damper on the evening when we could sit and watch other tables receive way more detailed and prompt service. We had to ask twice for a wine list, never offered cocktail refills while our other glasses sat empty, attempted to place our order only to be stopped mid-sentence by the captain who then went to attend to two other tables first. We are very easy going dining guests, but would truly have preferred a place that gave us the level of respect and interest that maybe a less expensive, all are welcome restaurant would have provided.

John Y

Solid French cuisine that is classic and delicate. Recent price increase does not justify any improvement, but it still remains as one of my favorite French restaurant in the city, next to Le Bernardin.

Jeffrey Piermont

Always a pleasure and a special experience to dine here. The food is classic French often with a something special and unique. The dining room is artfully decorated and is absolutely French. Service, service, service! There service is perfect, attentive but not intrusive. Can't wait to return.

Mihai Manitiu

Nice French restaurant with a roatic atmosphere. Food was excelent and the service was great.

David Rukshin

Stuffy, unfriendly service, food just ok. Nice space. Be aware jackets required.

Debbie Ngai

The epitome of fine dining in New York. Savory and sweet souffles to die for.

Mary Klein

As far as elegance goes, there is no way any restaurant can ever top this one. It is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. I was amazed at the place. I wondered if the food would be as good and I was not disappointed. Me and my wife were seated upstairs. I was so glad to be up there with her. She looked stunning and I felt as though I had left the restaurant and went to a heavenly copy. To really appreciate this place, you need to come when it is very dark outside. That sets the mood and a lot of the fun of this place comes from the mood. The food was cooked to perfection. It was fancy food. I want to come back here for me and my wife's anniversary.
