REVIEWS OF Keens Steakhouse IN New York

Sandra Satterstrom

Amazing food! Wine list is so well rounded and amazingly priced. Coctails are spot on. Service is as good as it gets. Knowledgeable staff, very helpful. You don't gwt better food or service anywhere else. Amazing!!!

Mike McGuire

Food was excellent. Service was top notch. I had the 8oz prime rib that was cooked perfectly at medium rare. The carrot cake was delicious, although the piece was more appropriately sized for two. The sides of spinach and mushroom were tasty as well. For the price we paid, I am glad the food was so good.

Nicholas

Unparalleled atmosphere, history, and style. Professional, classy wait staff, paired with excellent food and drink.

Ashlei Patterson

Got a recommendation to come here and it was everything we hoped for in a steakhouse. The sides are rather large and enough to share when you order a steak/meat also! My husband ordered the T-bone medium rare and it was cooked perfect all throughout! Service was amazing and everyone was so polite and on top of it! Can not praise enough, highly recommend!

David Owen

Five stars for sure. Good job to everyone who is working in this restaurant. I went there without any reservation and we were really big group but they found a big table for all of us very quickly. The food is amazing and the customer service is great. The price for this location and everything they did was perfect.

KEENS STEAKHOUSE We decided to come here for a romantic dinner on the night we eloped. Our booking was made through the Resy app, which was simple and quick. During the booking we notified them that we were coming for our special dinner. On arrival, our table was waiting the the hostess warmly greeted us and congratulated us on our wedding. We were shown straight to our table and were immediately given a complimentary glass of champagne each. The service was friendly and helpful, with staff making suggestions of what was their specialty. The atmosphere is the restaurant was unique. You could see the history of this classic steakhouse everywhere you looked. For appetizers we ordered the crab cakes and oysters Rockefeller. You could see and taste lots of crab meat in the cakes. Delicious! I am not usually an oyster lover but the taste was not what I expected. I would highly recommend you order them when you visit. The main course we had Prime Porterhouse for two. It was cooked to perfection, exactly as we had ordered it. The sides were creamed spinach and grilled vegetables. Both sides were large portions. Overall, the restaurant is highly recommended and we advise that you book well in advance as it was very busy, even for a Monday night.

Best steakhouse I've ever been to. This was the only place I enjoyed out of my time spent at NY (when visiting with my family). The food was just so good, specifically the steak. Steak was perfectly cooked to my liking and service was great. The atmosphere made it feel so fancy. I could tell everyone sitting around was having a great time and enjoying their food as well. I'm not a fan of new York, but if I had to go back there... It would be because of this place XD

mill kud

Been waiting to go there for a while so kind of disappointed the experience did not live up to the expectation. Nice old timey feel in the dining area and very nice servers but had to wait almost 40 min. for the steaks which were cold and over cooked. Seems good quality meat and big servings. Sides were not great. For $100 per person expected more. Might give it another try.

Mel Jiang

Super with service. Decent priced steaks. Would recommend to share steak other than filet mignon. Great location, traditional decor, ah too much to bribe about. Loved it!!!

Heather Reynolds

Amazing old school ambiance, great steak and the staff is always very accommodating. Love the food

Roy Hess

Perfect stakes. Excellent drinks. Great service. Pricy as expected.

Tim

Great, really great prime rib. Excellent, friendly service.

Christopher Knight

Been here many times because it's always excellent food and excellent service. Definitely one of the best steaks in nyc. Usually come as a table of two or four. Since I've had such great experience, I recommended a friend to hold a dinner here for 20 guests as a celebration. The wait staff could not have been more rude. It was truly astounding. As always, the food was great but the service left a sour taste on an otherwise fantastic evening

Natasha Hill

The prime steak for 2 was delicious. The crab cake was amazing, best my husband and I have ever had. Nice atmosphere and great service.

kitty kat beauty

Amazing food. The clay pipes are a cool decoration.

Avi Smith-Rapaport

Wow everything was super tasty and cooked to perfection. The beverages were also fun and unique.

Mark Laires

Expensive However, good portions, very high quality meat, broccoli and cauliflower delicious, and the old fashioned was superb. Food came out super fast. Overall, for these prices, they could've taken more time to season the steak better but still the best beef I've had in this country. Best scotch menu on the planet and experience is worthwhile the place is full of history and setting unique. a must try at least hit the bar drinks alone will knock your socks off..

Theodoros Tsokos

Great quality of meat. Quite vast portions. You may need to share the t-bone with your partner. Book in advance. Avoid starters to make some space, if you are to enjoy the steak by yourself. Prices good for the provided quality.

Chad Arnold

The mutton chop was incredible. The staff were attentive. My wife's filet was amazing as well. I can not wait to eat here again!

Lala Wang

I started my meal with a beautiful butter lettuce salad with balsamic vinegar dressing, I had my mutton chop cooked medium rare, and paired with, of course, an espresso martini. The chop was cooked to perfection, and with the addition of the house made mint sauce. LOOOVVE IT!!!! The restaurant is decorated in old time charm, just the way I love it

Craig Davis

I come here many times and the food has always been top notched. Steaks were cooked to perfection. The service was fabulous. I will definately recommend Keens Steakhouse!

Lutz Neumeyer

Steak's were right, really good !! Warming plates would be great. At $ 270, $ 30 service ... was too little, personnel distance, cold shoulder shown .... mmh?

Joe Collins

A favorite family tradition whenever we visit nyc. Always a tasty meal and superb service. The chop is out of this world.

David Parr

Go to the back--sit near the bar. Interesting people, fantastic service, and the food is simply flawless. Don't wait--Go.

Krista Sobotnik

I came to Keens on a Friday to have lunch with my brother. The food was excellent, as was the service! Very friendly wait staff. The appetizers could have been our meal. I loved the lobster salad. We shared a T bone that was seared and cooked to perfection! Dessert was delicious as I devoured the creme brulee. We want to bring our parents back with us next time. A must visit Steakhouse when in NYC!

Edoardo Zini

One of the best steakhouses ever. Absolutely special. We found it by chance and were lucky to find room. Better to reserve in advance . Astonishing meat served with as well amazing wines. Their porterhouse is legendary.

Rani Sawant

I loved this restaurant!!! Very unique decor, they still have the smoking pipes up on the ceiling. I will definitely suggest making a reservation ahead and please be dressed!

This place simply knows how to satisfy their customers. Consistently with a very welcoming attitude. The food is conveniently priced, constantly delicious and clean.

samuel casad

Everything from the initial greeting to the Manhattan to the oysters to the wedge to the prime grade filet was spot on. And, what an institution since 1885. It's obvious why Teddy Roosevelt was one of their first regulars. Special thanks to the manager, Ira. Cheers!

Amanda

Excellent porterhouse steak! Every time I come here the food never disappoints. The service is also fast! The key lime pie is also very good for dessert!! The atmosphere is very cozy, and historic with cigars all over the ceiling. This is the best steakhouse in the city.

Georgia Panagiotakos

Nowhere near P. Lug quality!! Too bad because I was really looking forward to this, based on reviews. TBone for two not good at all! Tasteless. Service was lousy. Waiter couldn't get us out fast enough. They brought our steak out and then said they'll be back, as they took it away without an explanation. That wasn't professional at all. Won't be returning. Trying 4 Charles Prime next!

pete masullo

By far the best porterhouse anywhere great place great service amazing food

mark blanco

Quintissential New York steakhouse! Everything you've heard and probably more. You can perpetually feel the age of the place as soon as you walk in, from the decor, to the crowd, and above all else... The staff. Consummate professionals, every last one of them. Honestly, I don't even feel the need to get into the food. Everything was absolutely delicious, even the crudite that they put down as soon as you sit. Do yourselves a favor and visit this place whenever you're in New York.

Scott Dolton

Very enjoyable experience; service, atmosphere and food were all excellent. First time visit, look forward to a return visit.

KG Paschalidis

Legendary. Was dreaming about the mutton chops the decor and service all week and Keen's delivered!

V. Tia

You can get a steak just as good for cheaper. The T-bone was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I would definitely come back.

David Fowler

Amazing steaks and wine selection! We asked for a table for 10, they gave us a table for 8, we made it work though!

Edna N Hand

If i start from the taste of food then i can say it's amazing. The Prices and taste of food both are reasonable and amazing.

Ruwaydah Abdul

One of the top eight steakhouses in New York! if you're a meat lover and want service excellence with an over 100 year service experience...then this is the place to be ;) Thank me later!

Jonathan M

I loved the atmosphere. I asked for the legendary mutton chop. This may sound dumb. But, I though it was going to be steak. Well, it is lamb. Lamb is not my favorite. It was good. But, not my favorite.

Chris Lee

My first visit to Keens lived up to expectations. The thick cut bacon was crispy on the outside but tender within. Both the steak and the mutton chop were cooked as ordered and delicious. Our server was kind to suggest a hot plate so we can still share despite divided preference for doneness. The sides were fine as was the carrot cake desert. A memorable evening of good food and company and good service.

Tasha Bond

It was good. Cant say I was overly impressed by anything but the history. Though the brown buttered carrots were very tasty. I enjoyed all the pipes and the original "updates" and "modern" conveniences as you can see by my photos. Rolls are very hard and the crudite (celery carrots and olives) must be services left over from classic steak houses? Drinks were okay, best part was they had alcohol in them. Filet mignon was good 8 oz is all you need. Ny strip my husband said was some of the toughest hes cut but still good. We equate it to Morton's but without the delicious butters. Wine was cheep cheese cake was good.

Fritz Menchinger

Lunch in the bar is the way to go. The Steak Salad is a perfect for lunch. This is THE BEST steak in the city hands down. I have never been disappointed at Keens. Finish with your choice of single malt for “dessert”.

LP Lee

Love the environment here. Wine, steak, pipe! Highly recommended for those who love good steak! Don't forget to order thick bacon too....

A C

Keen has a history in NYC, formerly a men’s only club and a smoking establishment (pipes that were used and left behind by famous guests). It’s a traditional steak house, great food/service, love the the energy of this place. If you’re looking for a quiet place, this is not it. They are famous for their mouton (HUGE), so don’t fill up prior to your reservation! And their cheese cake... IT’S THE BEST I have ever had!

J Maxwell

I tried this spot already with my friend and I am hooked since then. I enjoyed the good vibes and tasty food and drinks. They never disappoint.

Marcus Burke

Place had a good atmosphere and my steak was cooked perfectly, however it was also luke warm and clearly sat to long before being served. I expect more from a 300$ dinner.

daveramrod

Food is always great here. Went there for a birthday party of 12. We were expecting one a hell of meal and were not disappointed. Get the mutton.

Jacob McBride

Amazing ambiance, great drinks, and fantastic food! On of the best steaks I've ever had!

P Fabs

Always wanted to try the legendary Keens Steakhouse and finally got my chance. The service is absolute top notch, you cannot expect anything better. The only reason I was hesitant to leave a full 5 stars is my mutton chop was not seasoned very well. Hopefully not a common occurrence at an otherwise fine establishment. We also had the surf and turf and again the steak was under seasoned.

Ivo Genev

The steak here was absolutely unbelievable. Would highly recommend coming here when in New York. The prices are what you would expect given the location, but I would say that it is definitely worth every penny. The service was good so was the ambiance. We tried the porterhouse for two, which could have probably fed at least three and ousters as an appetizer (the souces were superb)... Overall, we had a great time and we will definitely be back when we are in town again

Thaddeus Manning

I visit this place a lot since I work in the area. I like how the service is always awesome and they keep the spot well organized all the time. Prices are affordable and they serve generous portions.

Peyton Doyle

So, so, so good. Delightful dining experience in this historic establishment. Service was absolutely delightful and the food was unreal. The thick cut bacon was one of the best things I’ve ever had - please do yourself a favor and get as an appetizer. We shared a prime porterhouse for two and it was just so good. The hype around this place is real and I see why it’s been thriving since the 19th century.

Todd Raymond

Worth the 176 mile ride. Best steakhouse I’ve ever been to. Mutton chop was outstanding, the atmosphere was amazing, the service was top notch. The building itself has a great history, ask the staff about they’ll be happy to share. We sat in the Abraham Lincoln Room. I will return. Please do yourself a favor and go.

Amy Gonte

Sat at the bar. Was ignored for at about 5 minutes. They were quite busy though on a Thursday night at 7:00. Got the lobster bisque soup. Very little actual pieces of lobster in it and what lobster there was was very small. Soup was relatively bland. Got the 8 oz filet. It was cooked perfectly and served hot with a pinch of kosher salt. While it was very good, it's the same as any other steakhouse. Perhaps I should have gotten a sauce with it or mushrooms. Again, it was good. Also got the whipped potatoes. They were a little bland as well.

Craig Thompson

Best of the best. Mutton chop was as good as its reputation. Service is impeccable. Bartenders mix some super smooth drinks, but the simple fresh squeezed limeade is the best non alcoholic drink in town. Highly recommended.

luca dondi

-Amazing T-bone -cooled, seasoned and served super well -worth every single penny -if you wanna have a stake in NY go there! -the location is really cool as well

정준용

No need to say. Best steak I've never had!

Greg Paul

Outstanding experience! Excellent food quality, great friendly service, warm comfortable atmosphere while still fine dining. Far more extensive menu than Luger and none of the brusque rush. Truly more than just an amazing steakhouse with so many delicious suggestions for steak eaters and non-steak fans alike. Cant wait to go back and try the lamb.

Lavie Tan

Steak was too thick for my liking

Derek Chin

Cool atmosphere and a well-executed steak. Docking a star for average side dishes.

Mark Townsend

The food was good, but the portions were relatively small and the bread was as hard as a rock.

Mike Jung

This is one of the oldest steakhouse in New York. They ate famous for their rich history dating back to the colonial times. Their service is the best I have received in New York City where they are so attentive everyone time you finish a course they will replace your plates so you ate eating off a fresh plate every course and they truly provide great service that you would expect from such an establishment. I celebrated my birthday this year and they truly make you feel special so no matter what the even be check this place out and look at the smoke stacks they have on the ceiling that was used by famous historical figures to recent celebrities.

Ward Kawano

Very good atmosphere, service, and of course steak. Prepared just the way we ordered it. The sides were really good. The ceasar salad in my humble opinion it was too anchovy. The wine prices wasn't that bad.

Jerry T.

Not like it used to be. Been going here for the past 10 years. Usually the experience and food is on point and justifies the price point. Went there last week and the service was lacking. After being seated, I had to ask several times to simply get the menus. The food came out and the famous motton chops were cooked incorrectly (very rare instead of medium). When we told the waiter about this problem, he took the food back and headed it up somehow and returned it to us (microwave oven? Regular oven? who knows!). The exposed areas of the meat slices were browned, but the rest was still rare/raw. It was very disappointing. I will now look for another NYC steakhouse to be my "regular" place.

Lily X

Very awesome Filet Mignon! For appetizer, we ordered half a dozen fresh oysters, half from Washington state and half from Maine. The sauce is great!!!!! Also the grilled mushroom is way beyond my expectations. Definitely will reorder it next time. Only improvement I’d suggest is that maybe we need more waiters on a fully booked Friday night?

Alvin Ho

Spectacular old school steakhouse with excellent food and service. I went with a friend and we had prime rib, mutton chops, sauteed spinach, broiled bacon and hash brown. The mutton chop was slightly gamey but very tender. The bacon was tender and smoky. Place has wonderful old time charm with old political cartoons hanging on the wall. It's hard to get a table here so I'd recommend reserving a table early.

Alexander Rizsk

The place was very historic and beautiful the host was very attentive and the waiters we're also very attentive. It has really really good steaks I would say, fair prices given the fact that they're most of them it's not all of them are aged on some level. I'll definitely recommended please anyone looking for a really good steak and even a healthy option. Thank you for exceptional service I'm quite exceptional food I will be returning.

kate dubitski

Hands down, the best steak in NYC. If you wish to go there for dinner, make reservations. You can also go for the bar area (that is not less charming) where they have the first come first serve policy. Great menu with selection of meats and sea-food (however I focused on the meat so far). The boiled baby potatoes side dish is too good to not order every time you are there.

Thomas Eldridge

Using a recommendation, from someone who was given a recommendation and tried it, I tried it, and was suitably impressed. The food was fantastic, the service even better, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. A beautiful and interesting place to eat, and have a drink at the bar, it is now on my list of places to visit again, when I'm in new York next. Making it one of the attractions I would recommend to anyone visiting the big apple, along with lady liberty, the empire state building and times square

Leah H

Awesome experience! The ambience is very cosy and relaxing. We were a group of four and all of us were very pleased with our experience. Excellent steaks, brick chicken, salads, mushrooms, carrots, & potatoes. Wine was also very good. Service was top notch. My husband smokes a pipe, so we especially enjoyed the men's pipe club history & seeing the 15,000 pipes on their ceiling. Will definitely go again.

Michael Cockrell

The oldest steakhouse in New York, a must visit while in New York. Excellent food and service. Nick was as good as it gets when it comes to someone passionate about service and the history of Keen's Steakhouse!

ari weber

One of, if not the best filets I've ever had. Velvety texture with that exceptional dry aged flavor you'd expect. Not to mention the sauces were all superb. With excellent service to boot, I'd highly recommend Keen's to anyone who loves meat and old world feel.

Craig Litchfield

Wow! Every part of this experience was next level. The food, service and ambience all combine to make this a place to remember. I recommend this to anyone travelling to NYC.

B Rizzi

Best steak house in. I've never been let down at Keens. Keep up the great work guys.

wendy finn

The steaks were wonderful. Perfectly cooked! We really enjoyed the atmosphere here. It felt like stepping back in time. Dark wood, squeaky wood floors, beautiful old photos and old fashioned pipes lining the ceiling. Really cool place. Also very conveniently located to the theaters.

Virginia Mott

There is a reason this place is a classic. Keens is a great place to celebrate. They are surprisingly large with multiple floors with separate rooms which makes things feel more private. They have excellent steak, and all the appetizers are amazing. Their customer service is top notch. There was a guy in our room who had a medical emergency, and they calmly got him out before most of the diners had noticed anything was wrong.

Jon Robinson

NICE!!! Very Intimate Atmosphere. Steaks Were Very Tender. Food Was A Bit Pricey But Good. Be Advised Dishes Don't Come With Sides. So When You Can Treat Yourself. KEEN'S.

May C.

Best steak in NYC! Amazing food with friendly knowledgeable staff. You can never go wrong with keens. Quality is always a constant.

Tanisha Easterling

we had a great experience at Keen’s. The service here is phenomenal- we were addressed by name throughout the evening by everyone from the greeter to the wait staff. As 1st time visitors to NYC, this place did not disappoint!

ornella burke

Beautiful establishment and excellent food. My family and I made a stop here and we're happy we did. If going on the weekend (Friday-Sunday) please make reservations or else you can expect a wait. The place is dimly lit with candles and the entire ceiling is covered in pipes. Seating is pretty close to other guests but comfortable. The menu is simple and easy to choose from and serves are great. Bathrooms...spectacular! Will definitely be visiting again.

Johnny Archer

Don’t show up without reservations. We sat in the bar and could order from the full menu by shouting it to the bartender. That being said... the meat is cooked superb. They really know what they are doing here. The mutton chops tasted like steak. Amazing flavour.

יניב חדד

Great meat ! Large dishes . The place a little bit darker for my opinion and you seat very close to other visitors very squeeze . Service is regular not something special. And yes very expensive but worth it.

Josh Winkler

Amazing experience. This was one of my top restaurant visits I've had. The meal was unbelievably great, the wine was great, and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The atmosphere was incredible filled with tons of history and artifacts. I can't say enough about how great my visit is. I'm very much looking forward to visiting again!

Joanna Jo

Cozy place. Food is high quality

Ziheng Ma

always my favorite steakhouse, especially to treat your visitor friends or family. It is almost impossible to get a reservation for other prestigious steakhouses in the town, but you could always get a seat at keens. The environment is telling history and all servers are friendly. Also keens serves fresh and juicy carrots and celery for starter.

Martyn Cox

Great food and history. Always worth a visit.

Kenneth Solomon

Truly a treat. Mutton and Steak were Supreme. Vegetables perfectly cooked. Service was excellent. A dining experience not to be missed.

Matt Ortolani

This place was just completely incredible. First of all the service was impeccable. Actually impeccable is an understatement. The server literally knew exactly what we wanted when we walked in. We were here for a birthday celebration and the food was just delicious beyond measure. Really enjoyed the atmosphere the location and just the overall vibe of everything going on at the restaurant. 100% will be back and will enjoy another great meal and great experience. Thank you having a fantastic restaurant and thank you for having a fantastic meal and celebration for myself and my brother. Great time thanks again!

Brayden Mora

this is one of the best old school steakhouse I have ever been to. it is definitely worth a stop if you find yourself in Manhattan and looking for a great steak. there is so much history at the restaurant since it opened in 1885. the food was really good. we loved the blue cheese puff, the french fries, mushrooms, seafood tower, calamari, spinach and the steak which was cooked to perfection. the only disappointment was the butter lettuce salad that looked like they hastily ripped it and threw it on a plate. the service was incredible too. and the wine list extremely well done.

Michael Allongo

Got the porterhouse. The doneness/cook temperature was excellent. Great sear. Good seasoning, but a bit on the light side for my taste. Sides weren't particularly noteworthy. The greatest disappointment was the creme brulee. It was quite unfortunate as far as texture and consistency. Decor was appropriate but not my cup of tea. Overall food and service were excellent. Shockingly there is no ribeye on the menu. A massive failing. Would return, but will not bother with the creme brulee again and would definitely like to see a ribeye added.

Mike Fenwick

It was one of the Best Lamb Chops I have had and they have almost perfected it. Unfortunately my wife's steak was a little over done and a touch underwhelming.

Michelle Jefferson

I went there for the steak and yes it is a really big steak. It was perfectly cooked even that it was so big. The staff was very friendly from the beginning. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great. Thanks to Taddy's guide for recommending me this location.

David Ganulin

Worth every penny. Historical spot, incredible cuts of meat, great service. What else do you want? Tip.... Call for reservations. Everything isn't always current with their reservation service. I suspect they probably do that for a reason.

Avrom Sevell

I have finally posted a review after never getting a response for the terrible meal we had at Keen's. The first time I went there it was phenomenal. I brought the whole family of six the second time and from the overcooked steaks and the condescending waiter the experience was very disappointing. We asked to talk to the manager but were informed she was not in. Nevertheless, no apology or compensation was offered. Even after multiple phone calls my calls were never returned. Keen's is an overpriced low class establishment that thrives on it's age and previous stature. I have always let my friends and colleagues know that there are far superior steakhouses in New York. Avoid this embarrassment.

F Turner

Tried this place last night based on the tremendous reviews. It was disappointing, just like another regular steakhouse. I'm really shocked by the thousands of overly positive reviews, it's like they've never had steak before. Standard food quality, expensive, but staff was kind. Happy July 4th everyone! I'll be out drinking and celebrating tonight, cooking up burgers on my BBQ.

Angela G

Perfect steak - rarely are places able to do a medium rare Chicago on a thick filet - they did ! Perfect service...

Kane Forrester

A tad expensive but worth it. Any high end restaurant that brings me Heinz Tomato Ketchup without being asked will always get 5 stars!

David

Just a wonderful place. The food was great, our waiter was brilliant and the interior in all the different rooms is great in its own way (though I am partial to that tiger). I'd be surprised if you were disappointed coming here.

Devi Saha

I did not like their service. The burger was too dry and the managers are stingy to admit to their faux pas. I have never had an experience where a clearly served extra cake was subsequently run towards by a waiter across the room, that had ignored helping me all night otherwise. Speaking to the managers about the situation was pointless. I felt quite disheartened by my experience here, and the way they treated follow up with me, as famous customers are clearly treated differently. Very snooty place. The place comes across as cheap and judgmental in some respects. I expected better treatment from a so called high end restaurant. Heard their lamb was good. The cake was not worth it.

Edison Dulatre

The best ever! And look for Honesty that the best waiter also. Everything here is just BEST!

Alfredo Motta

Exceeded our expectations by far. What a nice restaurant! Excellent service and excellent food! No wonder some publications say it’s the best Steakhouse in New York City. Everything was perfect.

Roe Seann Chong

Good decor, good steak though could be seasoned better.

Sveta A

One of my favorite steakhouses in the city. The stark is always delicious and perfectly cooked. The steak is huge so it’s good for sharing. We also tried their shrimp and cucumber appetizer, which was very light and refreshing. The service is good here. They have multiple rooms in the restaurant so it’s nice to come with a group of people too. Definitely coming back here again!

Dominic Baylon

It seems that Keens is often overlooked in the search for the best steakhouse in New York. Perhaps it is because your grandparents may have had a meal when they were young as fantastic as the one that you will have when you stop in. They do have some signatures that are not replicated elsewhere (the bloody Mary, the Mutton chop) but mostly you will find excellent steaks and seafood with top notch service that is spitting distance from Herald Square.

bert mullins

Frankly, the best steakhouse in nyc. Service, portion size and quality are all world class!

Jon Pugh

Fantastic ambience, great service. The bacon is the best I've had in America. Prime Rib, medium rare, rich and full of flavour. Will be going back soon.

Michael Palan

Perhaps my favorite restaurant in the world. A unique dining experience that harkens both the storied past and delicious present. Obviously the steak is great but don’t overlook the sides (bacon and fries especially) and the INCREDIBLE salads that can be found on the ‘Pub Menu’... especially the braised short rib salad

Hetal Bhuta

I've always been a fan of Steak. Generally, I go for the basic cottage cheese steak or the Chicken Steak but this time I tried Tuna which again, was amazing. As soon as found Keens Steakhouse on Zomato, I simply couldn't wait to visit this place and try out their Steak. It sure was a wonderful experience. There's this line that I'd read which said, " Make you Empire State building and Rockefeller Centre meetings before and after a Keens Steakhouse lunch " and I just couldn't agree any less! We had T-Bolan for lunch.

Dustin Richie

I didn't had a good steak for a while and I tried to find a good place on Teddy's guide and I end up here. The steak was amazing, for sure one of the best ones that I had in a while. The customer service was great and the atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful. We really enjoyed our meals, so I hope we come back soon.

Bonnie Lee

Food is always amazing and service is always amazing. Definitely worth it the price and the experience. Prime rib is my go-to here...even though I never finish it.

p soroush

Really nice staff, good management and great food.

Fausto Abreu

This steakhouse is legendary in its reputation and is old-school New York City. I went there with a friend to celebrate life as there is only one, and that's exactly how I feel about this joint... There's only one NYC steakhouse with fine meats and this is the spot to go to... Had the mix of East & West coast oysters paired with a single-malt scotch, followed with the delicious aged prime porterhouse paired with a fantastic red vino. This is definitely a place where you walk in feeling like you're hanging out with the high society of NYC as the service is very attentive, friendly and professional and the decor is so unique... If you're in the midtown area near MSG and Macy's, then stop by for some quality meats... Salute!

Ernesto Barrera

Keens is probably my favorite steakhouse in NYC. Try the thick cut bacon and the porterhouse steak for two. This is an ideal spot to for a date, casual or celebratory. I love Keens!!

Rachel Lau

Friendly and attentive staff, the lady who brought me to my table remembered my name when I said thank you as I left. Waiter offered half a serving of side order spinach when I placed my order as he probably realized I am not a “big eater”. Cosy seating, steak was good and tender, lightly marinated with salt as the steak was brought out to me. Banana foster dessert was delicious (this actually attracted me to this place, not a lot of restaurant outside New Orleans serve this dessert).

Calvin Meadows

I eat in this spot a lot since I work nearby. I like how the service is always awesome and they keep the place well kept consistently. Pricing is affordable and they serve generous portions.

Marcella Keith

top notch steak joint. my steak was handled with care. it was a big ol' thang. very juicy

This place is solid. Has great seating and the staff is super nice. The steak portions are huge and always juicy. No steak sauce needed! Highly recommended!

One of the best Steakhouses in America, hands down. I've had steaks at top of the line places in almost every major city in this country, and This one tops them all. Service was top notch, and the history, story and decor of this place is a wonderful added bonus.

What can i say? Keen's have been my favorite steakhouse in New York for decades. Thier attention to the food is impeccable. The waitstaff is dedicated to food, not pretentiousness that you so easily find at steakhouses. And the history of Keen's impress. Nice to know you're eating in impressive historical company! Looking forward to MANY, MANY MORE dinners at Keen's!

Really good, but not quite great - the meat was beautifully cooked and very tender, but I've been here twice, and one time the meat was pretty bland. Good sides, amazing dessert (key lime pie and chocolate cake), good service. I certainly wouldn't turn down an invitation, but I think Peter Luger is the better steak house

They wer so efficient and great service. Was sad to see customers not dressed up for such a nice place >.< the waiter was phenomenal!

It was everything I expected it to be. Took my wife for dinner there on our 2nd year anniversary and we got what we paid for even though it’s pricy. The waiter was good and very welcoming and helpful and when the food came, it was the best I’ve tasted so far. I would have given a 4 star before of the space. Everyone sitting too close to each other but then again there are other dining halls and it’s crowded because the food is good. I know that’s not the best picture quality. I’ll recommend anyone over and over again and I can’t wait to go back myself.

Keens Steakhouse is amazing restaurant. The food was great. I ordered a steak and i love when you can taste the butter with herbs. They definitely know how to prepare a good steak. The staff were really helpful and friendly. I told them that i want a good steak and i even didn't read the menu and they suprised me. Good job to Teddy's Guide for recommending this location.

Visited with my wife to celebrate her 30th Birthday, shared the 2 person porterhouse with sides and was stuffed - steak cooked perfectly! Hospitality was fantastic and great atmosphere. Will definitely return

Amazing food and even better service. I love going to steak houses and this definitely tops many places in the city!

Great little location. Well decorated and incredibly unique with a decent beer selection. The food was excellent! I made sure to get the Mutton Chop (lamb is one of my favorite meats) and was not disappointed! It was massive, juicy, and just salty enough. The flavor was amazing! I would go back without question, and mos likely get it again!

Me and my mum went on our final night in NYC and I must say, what an amazing dinner it was! The food was exceptional and the service was impressive. Highly recommend and will be to anyone travelling to NYC!

Superb food and service. We had the chateaubriand with three excellent sauces. It was perfect. It was billed as being for two, but would have fed four. For an appetizer, don’t miss the smoked bacon. Roasted vegetables and boiled potatoes were perfect complements to the steak. We don’t often do dessert, but asked our server for her recommendation, and split a piece of “our family carrot cake.” It was amazing—easily the best we’ve ever eaten, and was perfectly accompanied by the excellent coffee. This place is the absolute archetype of a steak/chophouse.

Astonishing steak. Went here for my 50th birthday meal. The best steak I've ever eaten.

A very dear friend of mine took me here for dinner on a Thursday night, and we had made reservations for 6:30 pm. This place was packed, and that speaks so much about the iconic Keens Steakhouse! There is obvious history associated with this place, and if you are in New York, you "have to" make a trip to Keens! What's amazing about Keens is that it can easily fall into the "tourist" traps/attractions, but it isn't! I was here with a born and raised New Yorker, who shared the same excitement and enthusiasm as me, an Indian born, who thoroughly enjoyed our $60 legendary mutton chop, which was cooked to perfection at the temperature we requested. What should I say about service? It was absolutely top notch! We ordered a fancy bottle of Malbec, the first one, which had gone bad, which our server was kind enough to spot and replace and we thoroughly enjoyed our bottle. Food, ambiance, service - all deserve a perfect 5. Amazingly, after so many years of service, Keens has still managed to maintain a perfect 5, which is something that's quite fascinating! Will definitely come here again!

My son got married at City Hall. We came with no reservation. They seated us right away and brought out complimentary champagne. The tables in the pub are close but we didn’t mind. Everyone was so nice it turned into a big party. The food and service were excellent

My favorite NYC steakhouse. While thesteak is as good as any in the city, I can't help but always getting the lamb chops, which are superlative. The bar during the week for happy hour is like a step back in time, with professional old school barmen and a boisterous crowd. The freebee bites are great and will hold you over while you wait for a space to eat

Arthur Gladstone

Been going for over 15 yrs. Never had a bad meal or experience! Highly recommended.

Loved my third visit to Keens. Amazing steak and the best crab cocktail not to mention a great tasting whisky sour! Thank you

No dress code, great selection of wine and liquor.

Was so pleasantly surprised. I am not a steakhouse guy but was in the neighborhood between appointments and had never been. The service was refreshingly friendly, the hamburger delicious and the decor fabulous. Hamburger + fries + delicious espresso for under 30$! Can’t wait to go back.

The T-Bone was delicious. The crudite was good. The service, impeccable. Simply put, if you have the money, go.

I had high expectations coming in, and they were met. The provenance of this place is unmatched. Our steaks, creamed spinach, and hash browns were fantastic. Recommended!

I came here from a recommendation and I was not disappointed. YES you will pay a handsome price but the service, food and atmosphere is priceless. Host, waiters and everyone were just beyond the average. I felt like a million dollars when I left here. The decor is unique. It has a couple of floors and everything is was done to my liking. My t-bone cut was top of the line. My potatoes evenly cooked and came hot. I would without a doubt recommend. this NYC steak house to anyone who loves quality and a love par experience. I hope to see you soon when I return to NYC area. Passed the word everyone. Keens. Steak House rules. Very well done!

Ryan Danger

The ambiance and aesthetic of Keens is superb and the service was steller. The Steak was cooked perfectly and was just good, which would be fine if the price reflected the quality. The highlight was by far the service and drinks.

Russ Wise

Completely amazing. The best steak I've ever had in my life

Robson Souza
